Chapter 62
(Let’s go home)
“Come in, dad”, Dorris told him. Louis entered the house with Douglas.
“wow, this is a f*¢kin penthouse!”, Douglas was looking around.
“Hmm. It’s my wedding gift”, Dorris replied.
Louis entered and sat down.
” Your husband stays here?”, Louis asked.
“Yes. He’s been staying here since we got married. I didn’t want to go to the mansion because of my work and because I’m afraid I won’t be able to manage the household well”, Dorris replied.
” You should stay here with Douglas dad. I will call Ray to pick me up. I will go to my husband home”, She said.
Louis nodded.
“I hope you explained thing well to your husband, yesterday?”, he asked her.
Dorris looked guilty.
” I haven’t talked to him since yesterday. I was upset and I didn’t want to talk to him in that condition. Don’t worry, he won’t mind in as much as I acted cool”, Dorris said.
Louis smiled.
Douglas called from the room.
“Dorris, what the hell?”
“Mind your language!”, Louis called back.
” Dad, you wouldn’t blame me. The room is practically full of Ray. I mean are you still a fan girl, Dorris? He is all yours now, are you still fanning on him?”, Douglas asked.
Dorris blus-hed.
“My husband is my biggest Idol!”, she said.
Her phone is ringing. She checked the caller ID.
“It’s Ash!”, she said.
” Sister Ashley?”, Douglas asked.
“Yes”, Dorris replied answering the call.
” Ash!”
“What? Online?…. Thanks”
Dorris dropped the call. She opened her phone and went online.
She saw Ray’s interview and people’s reaction to it.
“My God, Ray is so cool”
“Our Idol is now a domineering CEO”
“Ray is so upset. We are sorry Ray”
“I can’t believe that girl is married to Ray. Where are those that are saying she is just a short term fling. This is such a slap in the face”
“The girl is so lucky. She seems humble to me though.”
“I love Ray”
“I’m heartbroken. How can Ray just get married like that? This is so heartbreaking”
“I’m hurt. I wished I am Dorris”
“That girl is so lucky”
“Is she worthy of Ray?”
“That doesn’t matter. What matters is that she is married to him”
“Yes ooo. I’m shipping for them”
“Me too. I will love whatever my Idol likes”
Dorris was all smiles.
“My husband is so cool”, she said.
Douglas brou-ght out his own phone too.
” Wow, you guys are practically making the headlines “, Douglas said.
” He’s solved the problem over there?”, Louis asked.
Dorris nodded.
“Yes, my husband is very capable”, she said.
Douglas shook his head.
” Pack to your husband house please.”, he told her.
She rolled her eyes.
The door bell rang.
“Get the door”, Dorris told Douglas.
” It must be my husband”, she added and sat down on the chair.
Douglas opened the door and Ray came in.
“Dorris?”, Ray called immediately he entered.
” Hi bro in law “, Douglas greeted.
” Oh! You are here.”, Ray said.
He saw Louis too and greeted.
“Father. I’m very sorry for everything”, he said.
” What are you sorry for. You had a ha-rd time too. Don’t be too ha-rd on yourself”, Louis told him.
Dorris gave a smile.
“Dorris”, Ray called and sat down beside her. He really wanted to hu-g her. He really want to punish her for making him wait.
” I will take a nap in the room”, Louis said and stood up to excuse them. Douglas stood up too.
“I’m leaving too. I will be back before evening.”, he said
Then he added.
” Bro, can I still work in your company? “, he asked.
” Of course”, Ray said.
Douglas smiled.
“Thanks, bro in law”, and he walked out of the house.
Ray ki-ssed Dorris immediately. He was ki-ssing her rou-ghly and bi-ting her lower li-ps as if punishing her.
He dud not stop ki-ssing her till Dorris is short of breathe.
” Ray!”
“I miss you so much”, he said.
” Hope you’re not injured anywhere. I feel like sueing all of them to court. I hate their guts”, he said.
“I’m okay. What matters is that I’m fine now”, Dorris said.
” My father’s house was ceased this morning. They have no where to stay so I offered this place. Let’s move to your mansion”
Ray sigh.
“I don’t know what to do. This people are frustrating me. And Babe, that mansion is ours not mine okay”, he told her.
Dorris smiled.
” Okay”, she said.
“Dorris, I publicly announced our relationship today. I’m sorry for doing it without your permission.”, he apologized.
” It’s okay. you did it for my sake anyways”, Dorris said.
Ray ki-ssed her again.
“Let’s go home”, he told her in a hoarse voice after the ki-ss.
Dorris face is all pink.
” hmm”, she responded.

(No to divorce)
When the car drove into the villa, She was awed. This place looks like a place that a R0m-ntic person will live. She turned to Ray.
“Murray, you are a lover of nature?”, she asked.
” Who doesn’t love nature? We just k ow how to appreciate it more than one another. “, he replied.
Dorris nodded several times meaning ‘I agree, I agree’
When she entered the main house, she fell in love with the place. It is Cozy. A typical family home. The manor is just great. Dorris liked it so much. Just as she was still admiring the interior, she heard voices.
” Welcome home, master and madam”,
Dorris turned.
A woman was standing there with some servants behind her.
“My name is Preya. I’m a butler here. I’ve heard so much about you but I just found out you are so beautiful.”, Miss Preya said.
Dorris smiled.
” I’m Dorris. I hope you will teach me a lot of things. “, Dorris said.
Miss Preya smiled.
” You’re my employer after all. I will be willing to help you with anything. This people here will also serve you well”,Miss Preya said.
Dorris smiled.
She turned to the bunch of servants.
“Nice to meet all of you”, She said.
” I hope you will be good to me”
Douglas resumed work dressed in a blue tuxedo and nice craft made shoes. He was excited to work in H&D.
So as not to make it look as if he is not capable but only receiving help from above, he had decided to work at one of H&D subsidiary group, a coffee company.
He talked to Ashley as he was in the elevator.
“Don’t worry baby I will make you proud”
“See you after work”, he said and hung up as the elevator stopped and opened.
He met a lot of people waiting at the area.
” He is here”, someone said.
Douglas was surprised to see many people here waiting for him.
It’s good to have connection. But did they nee-d to welcome a newbie like this?
“Hello seniors. My name is Douglas. I will be working with you starting today”, he saud.
The employees were awed.
” The team leader is so humble”
“Did he just call us seniors?”
“Looks like we got ourself a nice team leader this time around. We will be able to br@g to the second team”
One of them walks to him.
“Hello, my name is Murphy. I am the team leader for team A. Nice meeting you”, the man said.
Douglas smiled.
” The director wants you to come over to her office”, Murphy said.
“Oh!… Ok”, Douglas replied and made his way to the office Murphy pointed to.
He knocked and a voice asked him to enter.
The director is actually a woman.
” Hello. I’m Douglas. I am just starting work today”, he said.
“Oh! You’re the new team leader for Team B? I’m sorry that I couldn’t receive you personally. I feel sick this morning”, the woman said.
” Team leader? Are you mistaken? “, Douglas asked.
He told Ray that he will start from the bott-om so why a team leader. The only boss to a team leader is this director.
“Yes. Your team will be having a team dinner today to welcome you. I hope you will get to slowly know them”, the woman said.
Douglas smiled.
No wonder they all came out to receive him. He was a team leader after all.
He is going to br@g to Ashley and Dorris and tell them how capable he was.
” A team leader is too much for a start. Don’t you think?”, Dorris asked Ray.
“You don’t expect me to let my brother in law serve coffee and run errands, do you? I have to take better care if my wife’s brother”, he said casually.
Dorris rolled her eyes.
“Seriously? What’s the big deal in serving Coffee and running errands?”, Dorris asked.
” C’mon Dorris. It os going to ruin my reputation if people found out that my brother in law is doing that. Don’t worry. He will be fine.”, Ray said.
“And your dad, I’ve you asked him what he will like to do?”, Ray asked. ” That is if he doesn’t mind not doing anything. “, Ray said.
” He wants to find something doing. He hates not doing anything. I’m thinking of opening a shop for him again”, Dorris said.
“Okay then. Leave everything to me.”, Ray told her.
” Okay. When can I go to the agency? I’m getting bored at home!”, She asked.
“Let everything quiet down first.”, Ray told her.
” I want to meet with Guy too. I nee-d to treat him to a meal. After all, he saved me the other day.”, Dorris said.
Ray face darkened.
“He only helped you”, he said.
How can he take that? His rival helping his wife when he us not available? It is really hurting his ego but he is still grateful anyway because he couldn’t even think of what will happen to her if he didn’t show up.
” yes. Can I go out to see him tomorrow? “, she asked.
“Okay”, Ray replied.
As if he can ask her not to go.
He wanted to be there for Dorris whenever she nee-ded him. He want to be a husband she can rely on. He wanted to be a man that will be able to protect his woman no matter the situation. He us going to do anything for her.
He knew that his parents will still cause trouble for her.
He also knew that they still want Ava to be their daughter in Law. He knew that in as much as Dorris family background is still the same, his parents will find it ha-rd to accept her.
Ray knew they will do anything to separate them. He knew they want something to happen that will cause them to divorce. He knew that neither his parents nor Ava is giving up anytime soon.
He look at the woman browsing her phone.
” Dorris”, he called.
“Yes”,
” We are not getting Divorce no matter what. No matter what, you mustn’t think of divorce”, he told her.
“Okay. Why will I divorce you anyway? You are my Idol.”, She told him.
He smiled.
” I know”, he said.
