Chapter 31
(Our first day)
“Anytime”, he said.
He ki-ssed her and Dorris opened up for him. She felt tingles in her tummy or is it bu-tterfly?He ki-ssed her forehead, her nose and her eyes. When he start showering her ne-ck with ki-sses, Dorris could not help but throw her head back and M0-ned.
She felt ashamed and blus-hed.
” I want to consummate our marriage or you’re not ready yet?”, he asked her.
“Today is our first day together as couples. Of course I’m ready.”, Dorris said.
” So are you ready to go to heaven and come back?”, he asked her.

They consummated their marriage and warmed the house. What more housewarming could the house nee-d.
Ray didn’t stop at one round, he begged Dorris for more and being the virtuous woman that she is she didn’t say no to her husband and she ended up sore down there.
Harriet still could not believe that she was pregnant while Edmund is over joyous. Since he found out that she was pregnant, he had been pampering her. And today she is going to his parent’s. She got climbed down the stairs in a hurry thinking she’s delayed him.
“Easy, Harriet. You should climb the stairs gently”, he told her.
” Oh! I forgot”
“You shouldn’t keep forgetting about our baby, Harriet. Put it in mind”, Edmund scolded.
Exactly her point. Imagine! She keeps forgetting that she’s pregnant. She is Scared.
Is she ready to be a mother?
Will she be able to carry this pregnancy till date? Will she be able to go throu-ghthe labour stress? Will she be able to take care of her child? Will she be a good mother and train the child well. Is she ready to play the role of a mother.
Edmund had told her that he did not want them to give birth to the child out of wedlock so he wants them to get married. The earlier the better. That’s why they are meeting his parents today. Harriet wondered if she is ready to be a married woman? What if she is not up to her duty? She had so many what ifs!
” C’mon. Let’s go”, Edmund said collecting her handbag from her.
“I can carry that..”
“Don’t worry, I will help you. Just focus on carrying our baby”, he told her smiling.
Harriet sigh.
The butler announced their presence. Edmund sque-ezed her hand in as-surance.
” Don’t be nervous, you’ve met mom right?”, Edmund told her.
Harriet sigh.
They entered the living room. The house is an old structure but it’s wonderful. She had thought the exterior is good not knowing the interior is even better.
“Hi, Harriet”, Edmund mum said and hu-gged her.
” Hello ma”, Harriet greeted.
“Come, meet my husband”, She said introducing her to Edmund Dad.
” Hello Sir”, Harriet greeted.
“Wow! You look even more beautiful like my baby described you”, The man said.
Harriet blus-hed.
Due to the way the older couple welcomed her, she felt relaxed.
The maids escorted an old lady down the stairs.
” Granny”, Edmund called. He walked to the old woman and hu-gged her.
“My sweet grandson”, the old lady called and pat his back.
Edmund help his Granny to a sit.
” Hello ma”, Harriet greeted.
“Is this out Harriet?”, the woman asked.
” What a beautiful child. Come here, let grandma see you very well”, the woman said.
Harriet walked closer. Granny hold her hand.
“So pretty. I’m very sure my Great_grandchildren will look good”, the woman said and they all laughed.
” You should take better care of yourself now that you’re pregnant”, the woman said.
“Yes Granny. I will obey you”
“Let’s meet your parents soon so that we will pick a day for the wedding”, Edmund father said.
” Yes dad”, Harriet said.
Ashley was at work when her phone beeped. It is a video message. She quickly inse-rted her earpiece when she saw that the message is from Douglas.
Ashley laughed out loud forgetting that she is in the office. In the video, Douglas was doing a twer-king dance. He looked cute.
Since Ashley had started dating Douglas, she’s been happy. She had never felt this kind of happiness in her previous relationship. She wants to be with him for a long time.
The night is cold. Harry wrapped her scarf for her.
“Thanks”, she said.
” I’ve you chosen the movie?”, she asked him as they enter the cinema.
“No but I’ve looked up online and women were suppose to like R0m-nce. So I’m thinking of watching a very R0m-ntic movie with you”, Harry said.
” We are seeing a gothic. I mean i will like watching A gothic”, she said.
Harry swallowed then shrugged his shoulder.
‘Well, horror movie will be R0m-ntic too. When she saw something scary, she will run to my arms.’, he thought.
But It was the opposite in the movie hall. He keeps running into her arms. He even screamed.
Harley could not help but laugh. She could tell that he had never seen an horror film before.
When Harry saw that Harley is laughing, he was embarras-sed.
“Why are you laughing. It’s because it is my first time, I will do better next time”, he said.
” You’re cute”, Harley told him as the movie ended and stood up to leave the room but Harry sat down dare. He didn’t expect Harley to say that to him.
“Harry?”, Harley called.
Harry je-rked back to life, he stood up and followed her.
Toby opened the door and he was surprised to see his mum.
” Come in”, he said
His mother came in.
“How are you my son”, the woman asked.
” I’m fine”, Toby replied.
His mother sat on his bed.
“Are you still angry at me?”, She asked him.
” Can we not talk about it?”, he asked her.
“Toby, you nee-d to come home to see your dad”, the woman said.
“Mum, that place is no home. Mum, I’m still wondering why you moved in with him.”
“Your dad lost his wife”
“And you moved in like the mistress you are. Just like that, without any pride. The man is not even treating you well”
“I loved him all my life, you know that”, his mum said
“Why? Why do you love that man even after all the lies he told you? Is it because he is rich? Is he because he is the owns mines?”, Toby asked.” Because he is a government official? I heard he is now a candidate for the next election. You want to become a mayor mistress-became- wife?”, Toby asked.
“Say whatever you like”
“He had his legitimate children. Mum, leave him. I will take care of you. I don’t want you to keep staying with that man.”, Toby said.
” He is your father”, his mother said calmly.
“Close the door well when you’re ready to leave. I will leave first”, he said and walk out of the room.
His eyes met with Vickey eyes

Chapter 32
(Did I just awaken a sleeping beast?)
“Victoria”, he called.
Vickey turned and walk away. She just don’t know what to do so she just decided to walk away. Toby had always avoided talking about his family. The only thing he said is that his mum is a single mother who raised him all alone. She had come to the conclusion that his father is either dead or he never grew up to know him.
Who knows he had a father but hated him so much. Vickey had always seen Toby as a bubbly child. Who knows that he did not have a good relationship with his family. He talked to his mother so rudely and bitterly that she could not believe it’s him.
” What?You’re pregnant?”, Harry asked again.
He just felt that he heard wrongly. When did she just meet this man in question?
“Will you keep it down?”, his mum asked, eyeing him.
” So is the father ready to take responsibility?”, Her father asked her.
“Don’t feel pressured, Harriet. We can just get rid of it”, Harry said, thinking he is comforting his sister.
” I am not getting rid of my baby. Mind your speech, my baby is not ‘it’.”, Harriet snapped at him.
Harry blinked several times.
“He is ready to take responsibility for our baby. He also did not want me to give birth out of wedlock. He wants to get married to me. I will be bringing him to meet you tomorrow. You have to be nice to him”, Harriet said all at once.
” What? Isn’t this too fast….”, The twin mother was saying.
“Is he a poor guy?He wants to get married to you? He is just a gold digger”, Harry blurted.
Their parents were probably thinking the same thing. They were eagerly waiting for her response.
” I think you’re mistaken. Edmund is very wealthy. He is the chairman of Goddy and co group”, Harriet said.
Harry stood up.
“Such an affluent family. Could it be that he is so old. Did you want to marry a old man?”, Harry asked her.
Harriet ignored him.
‘You’re in for a surprise when you see him. Sooooo manly’, Harriet thought within her.
” I’m bringing him home tomorrow. Please treat him well”, Harriet said.
They just finish eating dinner and Douglas hu-gged Ashley why she was drying the dishes.
“What is it? You have something to say?”, She asked him.
” I’m just wondering how surprised sister will be when she finds out about us. It will be a spectacle.”, Douglas said Grinning.
Ashley gave no reaction and continue with what she was doing.
“So I was thinking….”
“Thinking that we should tell your sister that we’re dating? That I am dating her younger brother!”, Ashley put the last plate on the plate racks.
” She would not be surprised. She will be shocked. She will be annoyed at me!”, Ashley yelled. She peel the ru-bber glove from her hand and dump them in the sink.
“Grow up, Douglas. This situation is not as easy as you think. Maybe you won’t really feel the impact when it happens but can you please think of me. Do you want to put me in a difficult position. Do you want people to mock me, uhm?”, She asked.
” You’re ashame to be with me?”, Douglas asked her.
Ashley swallowed.
“When did I…”
Douglas cut in.
“Why then will people mock you? What’s wrong with me? What is wrong with our relationship? Why are you so bothered? Why are you so concerned about the public opinion. Are you usually sen-sitive like this? You like eye service too”, Douglas asked her.
” Why do we nee-d to hide as if we are doing something wrong. Is it a crime to like someone?”, Douglas asked again.
“But I’m older than you’re!”, Ashley said making excuses .
” Are we the first couple like this? We are not the first and we will not be the last. You are a woman and I am a man, so what’s wrong with us? Why can the man be older than the woman and the woman can not be older that the man? I like you and I don’t want to know what the public think about this. I have no business with them, I only want you. Stop making excuses! Be bolder. Try to believe in us. Stop running away”, Douglas yelled.
“I’m not running away” Ashley said and start crying.
“Go away. You je-rk “, she added.
Douglas seemed pissed this time around. He just picked his things and walk out of her room.
Dorris was in the studio with her band members. They’ve been there all day. By the time they came out from the studio, they are all tired.
” See you guys tomorrow”, Their manager said. “You should all sleep early”, he added. ” Don’t drink alcohol tonight”,
“Yes, Manager brown”, They all said.
Then they entered their Van.
” Shall we go out to have drinks when we are done recording?”, Toby asked.
“Okay”, Dorris said and Guy naturally agreed.
” So, how is your new place?”, Guy asked her.
“It’s fine. Thankfully, It’s close to work”, Dorris said.
” Can we go out on sunday?”, Guy asked her again. “I said I want to tell you something”,
Dorris remembered she had an appointment in the driving school.
” I will make out time in the evening “, she told him.
“Ok”, Guy said.
” You can drop me off at that bus stop”, Dorris told the driver.
Dorris got down from the car.
She punched in her pas-sword and entered the house. She saw the light on.
“Murray, I’m back”, She said knowing he is around.
No response.
She walked to the living room and saw him sleeping on the couch. He looked stressed. He didn’t even take off his tie.
She dropped her bag and kneel beside the couch. She helped him loosen the tie. She then stared at him. Ray is very handsome. He is her husband yet she is still not used to his handsome features. She felt tempted staring at him and decided to ki-ss him.
She lowered her head and ki-ssed him.
‘I’m just gonna steal this ki-ss’
Suddenly, Ray eyes flung open while her li-ps is still on his.
He held her and dominated the ki-ss. Dorris eyes widen.
Did she just awaken a sleeping beast? She wondered if she would be able to make it to the studio early the next morning.
Are his fans aware of the kind of person their idol is on bed?
