I stared at Mrs Danielle as she laid on the bed, her eyes were still shut and my eyes were still very heavy due to the excess tears dropping.
I kept staring at her until her eyes opened, she turned to look at me and I smiled.
“You are awake. How are you feeling?” I asked and she looked around.
“I fell unconscious.” She said and I nodded.
“Hold on! Where is Enoch!” She yelled trying to get up but I stopped her.
“Mrs Danielle I am so sorry, but Enoch is gone. And I think Issac knows who did it.” I said and her eyes wide-ned.
“You know? Who is it?” She asked and I sighed.
“You don’t want to know. It’s not yet sure.” I said and she sat up at all cost.
“Tell me who did this to my son! Where is Isaac?” She asked.
“It’s uncle John. He was se-nt by Caroline’s husband to plant it in my drawer and instead of me taking it, he took it.” I said.
“Elisah did this?” She asked in tears.
“He didn’t mean it to be Enoch, he meant it for me.” I said bowing my head.
“Why? Why is he after you?” She asked.
“I am yet to find out. Isaac is at the police station, we are trying to lure Uncle John to mom, so she can make sure he doesn’t leave town because he knows Isaac knows.” I said and she grabbed her hair.
“I don’t still un-derstand why he would want to do this to you. You aren’t even staying with them, Caroline doesn’t even show she cares, why would Elisha try doing this to you?” She said and I shook my head.
“I don’t know. But I nee-d to talk to mother, she must know something about this.” I said.
“Why would Caroline know something? You are her daughter.” She said.
“She doesn’t care about me! If she did she would have shown concern after I got back from the hospital, but she never showed.”
“She never had me in mind. She loves only her children from Elisha, I am a no body to her. But the most annoying pa-rt of all this is that Uncle John agreed to all this.” I said.
“What would he gain? How did he even know Elisha at the first place?” She asked.
“I don’t know, but don’t worry Danielle. We would get to the root of all this. Uncle John, Elisha and Caroline will pay for this.” I said angrily.
“But that doesn’t change the fact that Enoch, my son his dead. How do I tell his father? He isn’t even in the country.” She said in tears.
“We would find a way. I am so sorry Mrs Danielle.” I said hu-gging her and she met crying on my cloth.

I kept pacing, waiting for John to come in. I was trying so ha-rd not to cry or anything, I had to act very nice if I want to keep him here.
It wasn’t even easy talking to him on the phone and smiling, so as to cover the shock and disappointment in my voice.
After few minutes, I saw John approaching from the other side, throu-ghmy transparent walls. Immediately I sighted him, I began to breathe very fast.
“Omg John.” I said in tears as he barged into the shop.
“They are gone. They just ran off and….” I said stammering.
“I am so sorry Rita. Those guys won’t go Scot free for this.” He said angrily clenching his fist.
“Do you know them?” I asked.
“I think I do. And I think they want to get to me throu-ghyou.” He said and I furrowed my Brows.
“Why? You are not a trouble maker.” I said and he sighed holding my hand.
“You aren’t sure Rita. I am on a edge, and I am just so happy you are safe.” He said hu-gging me and brushing my hair.
“John you love me right?” I asked and he nodded.
“I do Rita. I swear on my parents grave.” He said and then I was happy he brou-ght out another topic.
“Your parents? You never talked about them to me.” I said looking into his eyes. I felt so disgusted but I had to put the act on.
“They were killed terribly. Couldn’t bring myself to remember it.” He said.
“Why are you telling me now?” I asked.
“Because I nee-d you to know that I never meant to hurt you or anyone. I was on the edge, my parents were killed by my boss cos they were debtors and I am still indebted to him.” He explained.
“Who is the boss? I don’t un-derstand anything you are saying John. What is going on?” I asked and he sighed.
“Rita I am leaving. I know I shouldn’t but I have to. I tried to kill Diana.” He said and I moved back in shock.
“You did what??” I asked in terror.
“My life was at stake, and yours. I was se-nt to you by Elisha to make you fall in love with me, but everything changed. I fell in love with you.”
“My parents were indebted to Elisha, they borrowed money from him when I was young and close for dying.”
“They weren’t able to pay up on time, and Elisha being who is he, killed them and took me in. He began to use me for his works until he brou-ght me to your path.”
“I would have just ran away, but he would hunt me and try to kill me. When I failed at the pa-rty, he se-nt me to do the same poisoning operation again but giving Diana a chocolate, but I guess Enoch took it.” He said.
“Enoch ?? How is he??” I asked in tears.
“He is dead. And it’s all my fault, I should have just said No to him, but I was been a coward. I didn’t want to die, not after I fell in love with you.” He said and in anger I slapped him very ha-rd on his face.
“How dare you! You almost killed my daughter and now Isaac’s brother is dead! Because of you!” I yelled.
“I know I should suffer for this, and that’s why I am telling you all this! Because I love you. I could have just ran away but I couldn’t leave without seeing you. That’s because my feelings for you are real.” He said.
“Enough! Stop! Just stop John! I was imagining a life with you, a great Wedding, adopting a beautiful baby and then to find out you were se-nt to me?” I said and was about talking when we began to hear the sirens.
“They are hear for me.” He said looking around.
“Yes they are. And this is for breaking my heart.” I said giving him another slap.
“I am happy, that at least I will be free from Elisha.” He said and I began to shed tears.

? ISAAC ?
The cops captured Uncle John and led him into the car. I ran to mom who was still very hurting in the shop.
“Mom.” I called running to her.
“Isaac.” She called running to me and hu-gging me.
“I am so sorry Mom. I am sorry for everything, I am sorry about how you feel now.” I said and she shook her head.
“It’s not about you. You have nothing to do about this. It just that I can’t still get why he had to obey everything Elisha said when he can just tell me and we fight him together.” She said and I sighed.
“Maybe he didn’t want to drag you into the mess.” I said and she shook her head.
“Isaac the day I met him and fell in love with him, since that day I have been caught up In all this.” She said and I hu-gged her again.
“I am sorry Mom. Everything would be okay. Though not now.” I said looking at her.
“What do you mean?” She asked.
“Elisha killed my brother Enoch. He is going to pay.” I said and wanted to walk out when she held me back.
“Isaac please don’t kill anyone. I know you are hurt because Enoch is gone, i know this is all wrong but please don’t be a murderer. Let the law handle this, they will surely suffer for this. Don’t let the guilt and hatred rule your life.” She said and I nodded.
“I am not killing him nor anyone Mother. The cops will do justice to them. Killing them will be way too easy, they should be alive but in suffering.” I said and she nodded.
“So where are you going now?” She asked.
“To take Elisha. Some cops already left for his house before he can escape. I nee-d to ask him why he wants Diana dead.” I said and she nodded.
“Okay then. I will go with you ” she said and I shook my head.
“No you won’t go with me. You nee-d to rest.” I said.
“I have every right to be there Isaac. Diana is my daughter and the cause of all this is my sister and her husband. If she didn’t go for that Bastard and leave Jacob all this wouldn’t have happened. I nee-d to talk to her too.” She said and I nodded.
“Okay. We are going in the police car.” I said and she rushed to get her bag. We headed out of the shop and walked to the police car.
There were two. Uncle John was in the first, mother and I were asked to stay in the second one. We zoomed off and hit the road to Elisha’s house.
Mom was silent and so was I. I couldn’t still believe Enoch was gone. I mean we just met for few hours and that happened?
I will never forgive Elisha and John and whosoever caused all this.
We got to the house and I saw the cops that went before us had already captured Elisha. He had this strong look on his face.
Why didn’t we even guess he was a criminal?
“Please can I have a talk with him?” I asked one of the cops.
“Not until we get to the station. Once we get to the station, you can talk to him.” He said and i nodded.
“Caroline!” Mom called barging into their compound. I ran after her and when we got in, we met Caroline in tears.
“Rita.” She called and when mom got close, she gave her an hot slap on her face.
“You see what your greediness has cost you? You married a murderer! Because of money. Now he is after your own daughter!” Mom yelled and Caroline held her cheek in tears.
“I am sorry.” She Said.
“No you are not, because your husband who is going to rot in jail killed my brother.” I said and she furrowed her brows.
“What are you talking about?” She asked.
“I am Danielle’s son. The one you too from her, and Enoch is my brother. And your stupid husband just killed him trying to kill Diana.” I said in anger.
“You are Danielle’s son? Oh my goodness.” She said wanting to touch me but I yanked her hands off.
“Don’t you dare. After taking me away from my mother, letting me live 20 years on the street, you think you can just touch me?” I asked in anger and Mom held my hand.
“Mother is it true?” One of the children she has for Elisha asked. She was a girl.
“Yes. But that time I…” She said and she daughter shook her head.
“I had always known you were no good parent for any child. You and father are the same.” She said angrily and barged into the house.
“That’s what you deserve, that your children see how evil you are. Just to know Diana hates you more than you can imagine.” Mom said.
“Let’s get out of here mom. I still have questions for Elisha, and you I would leave you to Diana. You should be able to live with the hatred she has for you now.” I said walking out with Mom next to me.
“You nee-d to know that our parents are so disappointed in you. And they see that I have tried as an elder sister to you. You are a disgrace to The family.” Mom said before we finally got out of the house.
