Episode 72

Tamar walked in leaving Nadine and Nandro in the car outside.
She meet Mr Josie and his wife at the sitting room with Lorenzo and Eric who were about leaving.
“Am Mrs Tamar and am here with someone dear to you. Am sorry this information should have gotten to you since..
“What’s the information about? Lorenzo asked curiously as he felt his heart beating. Is it about Nadine? He thought.
“I hope so! I will be the happiest man today,” he thought within himself.
Just then Nadine and Nandro walked in surprising everyone.
“Nadine,” her dad whispers as he stare at her to make sure this is really his daughter, her face looks so pale and in this few weeks she has been away she has loose a lot of weight.
“Mom! Eric gasped as he watched her.
He froze at the spot not knowing what to do.. is this one of his nightmares or maybe his imagination.
“You all look as if you’ve seen a ghost,” Nadine said
” Nadine.. my love,” Lorenzo whispers as he rushed and hug-ged her tight.
You’re back.. you came back,” he muttered, his eyes filled with tears.
” Mom! Eric smiled
” I want to join the hug too? Eric said while Lorenzo carried him up in his arms.
“My baby,” Nadine smiled as he held Eric’s cheeks and ki-ssed him on his forehead.
“You came back mommy! I missed you,” Eric giggle.
” My daughter.. how did it all happened? Julianna asked so excited.
“Arggh,” Nadine gro-an in pain as he held her side, she was bleeding already.
“Oh my.. her wound got open,” Mrs Tamar said while Lorenzo gently dropped Eric to his feet, carried Nadine in a bridal style and rushed her to their hospital.

“It’s done,” Ca-ssie said when she was done dressing her wound. It all came as a surprise to her and Miguel to see Nadine alive. They were so happy about that.
“You’ve lost a lot of blood Nadine and the reason why you can’t get any better is because you need a blood transfusion,” Miguel said after going throu-ghseries of tests on her.
” What are we waiting for then.. start with the transfusion..,” Mr Josie said.
” She need a blood transfusion dad.., ”
” It’s not a big deal, I can be her donor, ” Lorenzo quickly speak up.
” Am her father and I want to be her donor, ” Mr Josie said.
” No dad.. you can’t donate your blood because it might lead to your low blood pressure, it will cause you alot.., ”
” There’s no time for this Miguel. I and Nadine share the same blood group and am willing to donate all of me for her to survive. Just do as I said and save her life, ” Lorenzo chipped in.
” Thank you Lorenzo! You can follow the nurse for series of test before we can proceed with the transfusion, ” Miguel said while Ca-ssie took him to the laboratory for the test.

“Is mom going to be okay? Eric asked his grandma.
“Sure Eric! Your mother is a strong woman indeed and I know she will survived, ” Julianna said.
” Thank you for saving my daughter, ” Mr Josie show his gratitude to Mrs Tamar and her son.
” And thank you for bringing her on time to us.. Eric is so happy now, ” Julianna said while Tamar stare at Eric.
” He look so much like Nadine,” she smile
“What do you have to say to them Eric? Julianna asked.
“Thank you so much ma’am. Seeing mom alive is a big relief to me and I know she will sail throu-ghthis,” Eric said.
” You’re welcome cutie,” Tamar and Nandro smile.
” We are really sorry we couldn’t give her a good treatment but we did all we can for her to survive, we actually live at the outshirk of the town in a very small village so we couldn’t get a modern treatment for her wound..
“Thank you so much, atleast she still survived. I will forever be grateful to you,” Mr Josie said as he opened his bag and quickly wrote down something on a cheque and gave it to them.
“We are not buying your kindness and am not giving you this because you helped my daughter. Am giving you this because am happy and I just want to help too,” he said.
” No.. Sir, we can’t take it. We didn’t do it for money,” Mrs Tamar said.
” We know.. but we just want to help. We can never pay you for what you did but please accept this little token as our appreciation even for the sake of your son,” Julianna said while Tamar nodded as she collect it and was shocked with the amount she saw written on the cheque. Nandro was so happy because this might be his chance to come back here in the city to continue his school with this huge amount of money.
“And this our contact! Don’t hesitate to call us whenever you need anything. We promised to help in anyway we can,” Mr Josie gave them a card that has his contact and that of his wife.
” Thank you so much,” Nandro smiled.
“We really appreciate,” Mrs Tamar was so grateful.

Everyone shout in excitement as she stepped out of the car and walked inside herself. They were discharged from the hospital and this time around she was feeling a lot better. After Lorenzo donate his blood for her, she has completely regain back consciousness and her wound is healing up fast already.
“I miss home,” she said with teary eyes as she stare at everyone around, starting from her dad, to her mom, Miguel, Ca-ssie, Lily, Sharon and Eric who was so excited. They all seems happy to have her back.
“I have arranged your room with your favorite color, you will love it mommy,” Eric said happily while she giggle.
“My sweetheart is so happy,” Nadine smile.
Seeing those big smiles on Eric’s face melt her heart. This the dream of every mother to see her family complete again.
“But one person is missing! She thought as she looked around and couldn’t see him.
“Did he went back to his girlfriend? She asked herself feeling so troubled already.
Just yesterday he was with her at the hospital, he has always been there and he promised to come today but now he isn’t here. She felt so disappointed. She missed the way he cared for her in the hospital and was always beside her. He has sacrifice a lot for her and even now she knows it’s his blood flowing throu-ghher veins that give her the strengths to carry on. She loved him dearly and wished they could be together again but What if he’s doing that because of Eric, because he wanted to be a good father to him and not because he truly loved or feel something for her. What if he’s only being so caring because of her family or because he missed her only. Her mind drifted to so many thoughts and she don’t know when those tears trickle down her cheeks.
“Why will I have to love this guy this much and only end up ending hurt.. if only my heart can stop loving him,” she thought within herself.
” You’ll only keep getting hurt Nadine, so forget about Lorenzo,” she said to herself.
” Mommy.. are you crying? Eric asked when he saw the tears in her eyes.
” No son! Am just happy am back to our family. Isn’t it a miracle I survived all I pa-ssed throu-gh,” she smile sadly.
” Where’s daddy? She asked.
“He’s in the kitchen.. busy preparing our dinner. He said he want to make everyone’s favorite dish, isn’t that fantastic,” Eric said happily while Nadine smile.
” So he’s here already,” she thought within herself as she smile.

The delicious aroma filled in the air as it hit everyone nostrils. The dinning table was filled with different varieties of delicious meal all prepared by Lorenzo.
“Welcome home Babe” Lorenzo said to Nadine while she blus-hed. He was seating next to her and Eric next to him.
“It’s so yummy daddy,” Eric manage to say with his mouth full.
” What a nice meal,” Mr Josie smile as he ate from his plate.
“Isn’t today our lucky day.. Lorenzo took his time and prepare everyone’s favorite,” Miguel said happily enjoying his meal.
“it’s so delicious,” Lilly and Sharon said in unison as they giggle and focus on their meal. Everyone seems happy.
“I know you guys will like it… Am the best chef ever,” he smiled.
“Yey.. don’t be too proud yet, til now you haven’t taste any food prepare by me.. I can cook more than you now,” Nadine said while everyone burst out laughing.
” Really.. do you want us to go on cooking competition.. and Eric will be our judge,” he smirked.
” Yay.. I will love too so I can eat more food. Mummy’s cooking is good but right now I think Daddy’s own is the best,” Eric smile.
” Sure.. Eric is right,” Julianna laughed.
” So you see.. am the best here and it will be amazing if you learn from the best,” Lorenzo wink at her while Nadine rolled her eyes.
” Okay then! I give up, it’s obvious Eric is on your side now” she sighed.
” You need more?
Lorenzo add two chicken laps and some bacons on her plate and he did same to Eric.
“Thanks,” she muttered.
“Thanks Enzo.. that’s what you suppose to say. I miss hearing you calling me that. No matter what happens am always your Enzo,” he cooed.
” This is dinner time, don’t make me choke on my food, allow me enjoy it Lorenzo,” she said then laughed knowing how much he dislike it whenever she call him with his full name.
“Okay love! After dinner you will call me “Enzo” in a ha-rd way, ” he smirked.
” Like seriously we will see about that Lorenzo Harris,” she laughed.
“Okay.. seems they love birds are enjoying themselves rather than the meal,” Julianna asked looking at Nadine and Lorenzo.
” No mom.. Lorenzo is just been..
” Romantic, ” he quickly chipped him before she could finish speaking.
Josie smile lightly as he watched them. This was the beautiful love he denied his daughter of years ago and gave her to a monster who almost ended her life. He wouldn’t have forgive himself if Nadine was truly dead. But nevertheless he was glad to be chanced to see the end of it all.. he couldn’t ask for more because he birth good children Miguel and Nadine and he’s so proud of them, despite his shortcomings as a father, they still loved him, they still chose him and they still respect him as their father. Seeing his grandchildren looking all happy was something that melt his heart indeed even if he’s dead right now he has nothing to worry about because everyone is safe and happy. His family is complete.

“Okay everyone, permit me to say something,” Lorenzo said after dinner.
“You can go ahead Lorenzo, ” Julianna smiled.
” I want to make everything clear now that my son is here and Nadine is back too, ” he said while Nadine looked at him, her heart skip a beat hearing that.
“What if he just want to be part of his sons life only, ” Nadine thought sadly.
” Am happy that everything seems to be going on well and i want to announce this to everyone here so you can be a witness too… It was actually Nadine coming back home that stopped me from traveling with Eric but now I want to travel with my son, ” he said while everyone was surprised to hear that..
“Together with mummy? Eric asked.
” No Eric, just me and you. Nadine can take care of herself,” he said as he looked at her, she was already fuming in anger hearing that from him, she didn’t expect that, she thought he loved her but she was wrong all along.
“You aren’t going anywhere with my son, am his mother and he need me,” Nadine stood up and face Lorenzo.
” Am his father and I’ve missed alot in his life, I want to bond so well with my son,” he retorted.
” No one is stopping you from seeing your son but I won’t watch you take Eric away from me, not now or ever! Nadine yelled back.
“If you had told me you were pregnant with my son years ago then I would have been there for him so don’t blame me because you started it all Nadine,” he said enjoying the argument between them.
Mr Josie was sad seeing the two quarrel just after dinner, he thought everything is okay now and they will resolve their issue by getting married to each other but he was wrong.
“You can’t sperate a mother and her son Lorenzo,” Miguel said standing up.
” You should stay out of this,” Lorenzo warned.
Eric felt so sad to see his parents quarrel that way especially because of him. He missed his dad and want to be Daddy’s son but to leave his mother behind and follow his dad is something he didn’t want to do.
” Just quit it Lorenzo! You wanna take my son away from me so that another woman can raise him. If it’s about your girlfriend then you can go to her but not with my son. I was right all along, you were only concerned about me because of Eric and not because you loved me. I know you don’t love me now Enzo but you don’t have to hurt me this way please. I have decided to move on with my son and to hold this pain for a long time that we can never be together. I believe time will heal all wound in my heart, I will try to forget you, I wish I can stop loving you for my own peace of mind,” Nadine said in tears getting everyone emotional. She turn to leave but Lorenzo quickly held her back and he slammed his li-ps on hers surprising everyone.
“I love you too Nadine..” he said as he disengaged from the ki-ss, looking straight at her teary eyes.
“this just what I need to hear. Am sorry for pulling this drama.. am not going anywhere with Eric, I promise not to hurt you ever again, I promise to love and to cherish you with my life,” he whispers to her.
” And you finally call me Enzo.. in a ha-rd way,” he teased while Nadine frown as she hit him on the chest.
” Just fu-ckoff Enzo.. I hate you! she spat out in anger as she try to leave but Lorenzo grip was tight on her.
” I will never let you go,” he said.
” Am sorry for making you cry.. I promise that will never happen Sunshine,” he said softly as he wipe her tears with his thumb.
” You’re such a di-ckhead Lorenzo.. if you try that next time I will break your head and am serious about it,” she snapped.
” Yes my love,” he pout..
” I never stopped loving you not even for a single day, I wanted to.. I want to forget you but I can’t.. You’re the innermost part of my being that I want to spend the rest of my life with,” he kneel down on one knee and brou-ght out a ring from his pocket..
“Will you marry me? He asked making everyone gasped.
” Awwn.. this so sweet,” Ca-ssie said so excited as she watched the drama blus-hing.
“You’re so lucky Nadine,” she squealed.
Nadine was surprised as she stare back at Lorenzo, she was still angry with him for making her cry but seeing him kneeling in front of her and asking her to marry him was something she dreamt of long time ago which never happened but now she’s witnessing it right in front of her.
“Make me the happiest man Nadine. I love you so much, you’re my best part and I want to wake up each day with your smiles, your support and your love which are my inspirations. I want to have that complete family with you and complete happiness for my soul. Please Nadine complete me and make me this happiest man today, to be the mother of my children because i know more are still on the way and Eric will have more siblings,” he chuckle while Eric smiled hearing that.
” It will be nice having siblings,” he thought smiling sheepishly at that.
” Say yes Mommy,” Eric said.
Nadine stared at Lorenzo, seeing the seriousness in him, the love and care. Indeed getting married to her best friend will be the best thing ever.
“I love you too Enzo.. but what about Gemma? She asked
” Do you want me to marry her? Lorenzo asked while Nadine frown.
” Of course not..
” Then forget about her and answer my question,” he said.
“No! Nadine said
The look on Lorenzo’s face changed to disappointment as his heart beats. He couldn’t imagine his life without Nadine anymore, she has always been in the picture and she will continue to be in the picture of his life and destiny.
“I can’t marry you Lorenzo,” she blurt out surprising everyone.
Nadine smirked satisfied with the look on his face, he looks like someone that is about to cry.
“Oh my.. this just pay back,” she laughed.
“I will marry you my Enzo, you’re mine now,” she smile while Lorenzo smile and slide the ring into her finger.
“You never cease to amaze me,” he stood up and hug-ged her.
” next time don’t make me cry because am gonna make you pee in your pan-ts,” she whispers to him while he laugh.
” You almost got me this time because I almost do that,”
” I love you Dad, I love you mommy,” Eric quickly join in the hug, feeling so excited.
“Oh.. this love birds must be so crazy… Such a drama King and queen,” Julianna said as she held her chest, she almost got heart attack when they two were quarrelling.
“You won’t come and kill me when it isn’t my time,” she smiled.
“Am so happy now,” Mr Josie smile.
“You have my blessings Lorenzo. Thank you for your patience am now certain only you can love my daughter they way she wants. Indeed destiny have brou-ght you back to each other arms, you two are inseparable” he smile.

” And that’s it,” Lorenzo showed her his mansion. They were just coming back from his orphanage and he took her straight to his mansion.
“Am so proud of you Enzo. You’ve achieved so much in this few years that you were away from us. Indeed you’ve make your parents proud too,” she smiled.
” I did that because I know one day like this day I will be worthy of your love and your family will accept me back,” he said.
” It’s all my fault, I rejected you because I had a lot of burdens on me, I was pregnant and I was scared of what they outcome might be if I dare tell my family and if I didn’t break up with you my dad would have disowned me, I was just a girl Enzo and I was at the disadvantage, I cannot desert my parents as easily as a boy would but one thing I know was that you were always in my heart and that was the reason why I never really loved that bastard Leonard,” Nadine said sadly.
” I don’t need any explanation again love. It’s all in the past. You’re mine now,” Lorenzo held her shoulder as he stare back at her then down to her li-ps.
” Don’t ever blame yourself for what happened. It was all a test of love to see if our love could Stand the test of time and it actually did because despite everything we are back together! And this time I promise you with my life am never gonna let you slide away, never! He a-ssured as her as he placed his li-ps softly on hers.
“I missed those li-ps,”

Just when they were about going out Gemma walked in and Lorenzo was surprised to see her. He quickly stood in front of Nadine incase if she will try to do something stupid to her.
“Lorenzo,” Gemma’s called surprised to see him and Nadine.
“Is the rumours true? Are you getting married to Nadine? She asked.
“Yes,” he muttered while Gemma hug-ged him in tears.
“I will miss you Enzo,” she sniffled then wipe her tears with her hand. She disengage from the hug and stare at Nadine’s finger only to see the ring there.
“Destiny can only be delayed but it can never be denied. You and Lorenzo are inseparable and i will only end in disaster if I keep forcing myself on you. I should have listened to dad. If only fantasies were a true picture of reality! I just have to let go and face the reality,” she said sadly.
” You’re right when you said I deserve the best.. the best who would loved me this much just they way you loved Nadine,”
” And am sure that person is coming into your life soon. You’re amazing Gemma and you’ll always be my friend. Thank you for understanding me,” Lorenzo said while Gemma nodded.
” If Nadine will give you that happiness and all the love you need then so be it,” she smile then walked to Nadine and held her hand.
“You’re so lucky! Am happy you are alive and your family is now complete. I wish you both happiness,” Gemma said with a sad smile.
” Thank you Gemma,”
” Am sorry for all the bad things I did and say to you. Please forgive my foolishness,”
” It’s all in the past,” Nadine said.
” I will be going back to Colorado tomorrow. Bye Lorenzo,” Gemma said as she walked in out in tears. It’s just so difficult to let go of someone you’ve loved for years but she silently prayed she will get over him and moved on, it’s actually the best thing to do..
