“So you mean Nadine is gone? Kamil asked perplexed when Mr Josie told him that happened when he went to visit him.
“Maybe you were never meant to reunite with your sister. Her body wasn’t found thou but they searched every crook and cranner and couldn’t find her. I still don’t want to accept that she’s gone forever. I feel guilty for everything, if only I knew Leonard was that evil I would have never given my daughter to him in the first place, ” Mr Josie said sadly.
” that’s life! sometimes we wish we took a different path in life, we all make mistakes, we get jealous, envy and allow greed and pride to take over us at some point. Just like me! I ended up being a failure here because am a just mistake..
“You’re not a mistake Kamil, I haven’t forgotten you and when your time is due you’ll be out of here and I promise you a new life, it’s never late to start all over even if am not alive am sure your brother Miguel will continue from where I stop and give you hope for a better future. No Montes is a failure I solemnly believe that,” Josie said.
” Ever since mom joined me here and died few years back I felt there’s no hope for me. Will Miguel still accept me? What about your wife? My mom has done a lot of evil to you two. What about Ca-ssie.. how can i face her? Kamil asked bitterly.
“All those people you mentioned have move on and are living their life peacefully. They have already forgiven you. Ca-ssie is now a mother of two, her twins and Miguel is an amazing father to them. You have a family waiting for you Kamil..,”
” Thanks Dad. Thanks for me giving me hope to hold on to even thou i still have nine more years here,” Kamil said in tears.
” This too shall pa-ss. We can’t continue to live in the past, in pains and in anger.. we have to let go and start afresh. Always remember you have a family to return back to and you have a family waiting for you,” Josie a-ssured him.
” Thanks Dad,” he nodded.
Looking back at his life he wished he took a different direction, he wished he wasn’t evil, he wished he have never deceived Ca-ssie who loved him genuinely but he ended up breaking her heart, he wished he was wiser back then, he never knew all this will backfire and crippled him in one place. He was tired of the prison, he want his freedom but that can only happen in the next nine years to come. He silently prayed he will still be alive by then to get his freedom and start all over…

In Nadine’s Room????????

Eric sat down on the bed, staring at nothing in particular. He was in Nadine’s room glued to one of her picture hug-ged to his chest.
“This wasn’t how we plan to celebrate this Christmas,” he thought in tears.
” Eric.. are you okay,” Sharon sat down beside him as she try to collect the photo frame of Nadine’s picture from his hand but he refused.
“Stop crying Eric. Your mom will be back, I believe that,” Lily said.
” Daddy will take us to theme park and shopping later and after that we can have dinner together and we will play our favorite games,” Sharon said with smiles hoping that will lit up his mood.
“Just leave me alone! He yelled at them.
” Then stop crying.. Seeing you always sad will makes us cry too,” Lilly held his hands.
” And I won’t stop until my mommy is back,” he yelled.
“But we are here for you, your daddy is also here,” Sharon said.
“I want to see my mommy.. is that too much to ask for! Why is life so unfair,” Eric burst into tears.

” Am taking Eric with me,” Lorenzo announced to Mrs Julianna and Josie when he came to visit Eric.
” Taking Eric to where? Julianna asked.
” To California! It’s two weeks already. I don’t see any reason to stay here again. Am going with my son,” he said.
” My grandson need people around.. he need us too,” Julianna said.
” He’s my son and I will decide what to do with him and whatever I decide is the best for him. He need a change of scenery. This mansion will always remind him of Nadine. I know is not easy for him but i know how to take care of my son,” Lorenzo.
” are you just gonna take Eric from us..,” Julianna said sadly.
” I have to! I want to be part of my son’s life and am sure wherever Nadine is she will want me to reunite with my son,” he said…

In a small remote Village.

*Please Leon..,” she cried as she quickly carry her son and turn to run away but Leonard aim at Eric, she quickly hug-ged the little boy making the bullet penet-rate throu-ghher.
“Mommy,” he cried as she dropped him on the floor and held her bleeding stomach. Leonard laughed as he dragged her forcefully outside to the ship.
“Mommy..,” Eric cried aloud and that was the last time she saw her son.
**”I will kill you before you kill me,” she smirked as she shot Leon until the bullet in the gun got exhausted.
**Lorenzo..,” she turn to him when he yelled her name, she saw when he jumped into the sea swimming as fast as he could towards their direction not until their ship to-re into shred.
**Those memories kept flashing in her Coma..
She slowly open her eyes and saw herself in the small hut with a woman seating right beside her.
“Son.. Eric!
She muttered as she looked around and noticed she was in a strange environment.
“Eric,” she try to stand up but the woman stopped her.
” Take it easy on yourself! Your wound hasn’t heal up completely so don’t stress yourself,” the woman said.
Nadine could hear some noises from outside, it was nightime she could hear the beating of drums and songs from the children.
“Where am I? What’s happening? Nadine asked innocently.
” Two weeks ago my son found you almost drown in the sea. That night they went for fishing before the incident happened, he saw how your ship sank and he quickly rushed to rescue you before your people did,” she said.
” Two weeks ago? Nadine asked surprised..
“Yes.. you’ve been unconscious for the past two weeks. Am glad you’re awake because we all thought you won’t survive. Am Tamar,” the woman smiled.
” Thank you so much,” Nadine said as she looked at her.
” My family must be so worried about me,” she said sadly.
“That’s what my son told me. He said your family are sad and have been searching for you all over but we were scared to tell them about you because you aren’t wake,” Tamar said.
Nadine gently stood up, she could feel the pain in her stomach but not as much as before. She slowly walked outside and was surprised by what she saw. The number of crowd outside.
Some were beating drums and dancing, the children were playing, some playing games, others were cooking at one side while some where taking a stroll with their loved ones.
“What’s the celebration for? Nadine asked.
“That’s what we usually do each new year festival. We just have few hours to a new year and we do celebrate this together as a family,” she said.
” A new year! Nadine thought.
“Oh no Eric! We plan to go on family vacation this Christmas season.. Eric will be so disappointed..,” she thought.
” I need to go back home.. my family needs me especially my son. I want to see my son,” Nadine enthused.
” No one will stop you from leaving Nadine.. but you can’t just leave in this your condition,” Tamar said.
” How did you know my name? Nadine Wondered.
“My son told me everything.. he watched the news about you when he went to town last week and he saw how serious your family were searching for you- Nadine Montes we all know you came from a very influential and wealthy family,”
” And what about Leonard.. is he dead? Nadine asked in tears.
“Leonard has cheated me,” she gritted her teeth in anger, thinking of how he sperated her from her son. She silently prayed Eric is doing just fine. She thought of Lorenzo.. Seeing him jump into that sea in such a bad Wave was scary.
“Hope is okay and taking care of our son,” she thought.
“You should be thankful you’re alive, because non of us thought you would survive this,” Tamar said.
” Mom,” Nandro walked in surprised to see Nadine awake.
“She’s awake son,” Tamar smiled.
“Am glad she is,” he smile
” This is Nandro my son. He’s a fisherman,” Tamar Introduced.
” Thank you for saving me on time. You did not only saved me but also my family especially my son. I wonder how my little Eric is doing, he has been throu-gha lot already and I blame myself for that,” she said sadly..
” it’s not your fault but your ex husband. I saw it on the news and read it on the newspapers. His dead body was found so he’s dead already,”
” Thank you Nandro,” Nadine muttered.

Nadine sat down quietly outside as she watch the celebration going on…

They yelled in excitement…
The beautiful fireworks lits up the skies.
Nadine watched it with a sad smile on her face. This celebration can only be perfect with your family and loved ones around, seeing the happy faces on each and everyone of them.
Life is unpredictable, she never thought she will be in a strange land at that moment. They had so many plans for the Christmas seasons and they plan to go on family vacation but their expectations were dashed away. She wonder what Eric was doing at that moment what about her parents?
“It’s still not late Nadine! just be thankful you’re alive to witness this day and to reunite back to your life,” her sub conscious said.
” Despite all the storms of life.. am still grateful,” Nadine wipe her tears.
” Happy new year dear,” Mrs Tamar said as she sat down next to her.
” Thanks,” Nadine smile.
You have nothing to worry about dear, you will go back once you recover,”
” Am fine already, I have to leave tomorrow.. My mind will never be at peace if I didn’t see my son and family. My brother is a doctor and we own a hospital, so you don’t have to worry about me, I will definitely get a good treatment once am home,” Nadine a-ssured her.

“Are you really sure about this daddy? Eric asked when Lorenzo told him they will be leaving.
“We will always come visit Eric. I don’t want to leave you behind. I want to be there for you every step of the way, I want to hold your hands and go throu-ghthis journey with you. I grew up without a true family, i lost everything including my family at a tender age, at some point I lost Nadine and you but now I don’t want history to repeat itself, I don’t want you to suffer what I suffered. I want to play that fatherly role in your life and be there for you. I want you to experience what a complete family and true love is..,”
” But how can our family be complete without mom? Eric asked.
“Right here in our hearts son,” Lorenzo point at his chest.
“Even in the next decades Nadine will always be in our heart,” he said sadly while Eric nodded then hug-ged him.
“You have to be strong cause champions don’t cry instead they face that challenge which makes them stronger,”
“Thank you Daddy,” he said in his tiny voice.
