Ryan walked out of the cla-ss, proceeding his way to the library
“R— Remy.. he called with a little stutter immediately he sighted Remy and his friends.
“Gosh, Why did I have to hear this annoying voice first thing in the morning? I guess today will be full of bad luck for me” Remy sigh and faced Ryan.
Remy was a great bully, and the head of bullies, he was quite intelligent but Ryan was still leading him in every aspect
“I.. Ryan stopped and looked up at him
“I’ve told you Ryan, stay a way from me… Remy bump his shoulders into Ryan’s rou-ghly, pushing him out of his way before walking away with his minions
Ryan stood still, staring at his direction till he was out of sight.
Tears gathered in his eyes but he quickly blinked them back as he made his way to the library.
He picked up a book and started reading it. He gro-aned frustratingly when he realized he was only forcing himself and his head was hurting already. He closed the book Infront of him and sigh.

“Remy, what’s your relationship with Ryan? Why do you hate him so much?” Justin asked as they made their way to the field
“I’ve always told you to mind your business. And as for Ryan, you can go ask him.. Remy replied and started to walk away, leaving them behind
“They must hate each other a lot” Fargo sigh
“I know right? I wonder what the quiet and lonely Ryan did to Remy” Reece said
“Can you all just shut up?” Remy yelled and his friends immediately took their li-ps into their mouth

“Hey…. Jeffrey said from behind but Ryan didn’t even spare him a glance
“Hey Ryan.. he said again and held his hands.
“How may I help you?” Ryan replied, his face blank with no expression.
“Cool man, I mean no harm. Just had some problem solving the maths problem.. Jeffrey said while Ryan gave him a long stare
“You can go seek Mr George for help.. Ryan replied and with that, he walked away while Jeffrey scoff.
He was only trying to be friends with Ryan since he was quite intelligent. But there he is behaving all cold!.
“I guess it’s a bad timing” he heave a sigh and walk away

Ryan got to cla-ss and immediately a lecturer entered the cla-ss. Mara kept stealing glances at him but he just stared plainly at his book
Lectures began immediately. After a while, a question was asked and the students began murmuring among themselves
” Shéi zhīdào dá’àn? (Who knows the answer?) The lecturer asked but no one raised a hand.
The lecture, Mrs Borgia didn’t bother turning to Ryan cause she had already heard him talk a lot today. So she presume he wouldn’t be answering any questions again for the day
She sigh and was about saying the answer when Ryan spoke up.
“Typical value Is often a key word for mean or average value. Since the mean is a measure of central tendency, it is informally thought to represent the typical values Among the values in a list” he said and Mrs Borgia was astonished. That was the longest phrase he’s ever said in her cla-ss
She smiled and faced the students
“That’s correct….She announced and the cla-ss just stared at Ryan who put on a straight face throu-ghout
? I wonder what made him like this. Doesn’t talk too much, have no friends and nothing…. he’s a loner
? I heard he’s been looking for a way to make up with Remy. Maybe he wants to be his friend but Remy wouldn’t give him a chance
? How I wish I was Remy.. students murmured.
He heard every comments but he didn’t even bother to look at them or explain anything to them.
The lecture came to an end minutes later and he immediately stood up.
“Going home already?” Mara walked to him but he didn’t reply as he made his way out of the cla-ss
? Why does Mara keep talking to him when she’s fully aware he doesn’t talk to girls
? He doesn’t even talk to his fellow gender.. a girl said while Mara scoff
“I don’t care! I’m surely going to have him” Mara thought and bit on her lower li-p before walking back to her sit.

~~ Granny Pamela’s little apartment~~
Violet had been sleeping after break fast. She was trying to resto-re all the strength and energy she had wasted yesterday at her per time and the one’s she’ll be wasting today too.
She woke up and yawn.
” God, I’m so tired. She stretch stepping out of bed. She checked the time and realized it was 3pm.
” I slept for five hours straight” she gasped
“Well, it’s just 3… I’ll be going to work by 5pm. Still a lot of time for me. She said
“Grandma.. she called, walking to the sitting room.
“Grandma?” She called again walking out of the house
“She would have told me she was going somewhere.. Violet grumbled mentally
“Good afternoon miss Laura, have you seen Granny Pamela?” She asked, one of their neighbors
“Grandma Pamela went to get something down the street”.. Laura replied
” Xiexie ( thanks )” She told Laura and Laura smiled at her
“I thought I bought all what she needed?’ Violet wondered again before walking back into the house.
“Aunt Violet, I’m hungry.. came the annoying voices she hate hearing
They were the twin kids of her neighbor
“Kira and Kylie, I’m not in the mood. She replied sitting on the couch
Kira and Kylie were twin, the only way they could be differentiated was throu-ghtheir smile and the color of their eyes.
Kira was born with grey eyes while Kylie’s were black.
Kylie was gap-toothed which made her very beautiful when she smiled while kira had charming, breathtaking dimples
“Look here kids, if you’re hungry just go make something for yourselves and stop bothering me” Violet said and kira scoff
“I wonder when you will change.. kira said
“Of course Violet doesn’t know how to cook, what were you expecting? I’d rather drink poison than eat her food” Kylie said and they both laughed. Kira and Kyra were 14.
“Is her food any different from poison?” Kira added and they both laughed ha-rd while holding their stomach
“Since you two can do better, why don’t you go Cook something then?” Violet said knowing fully well they couldn’t Cook too.
Though she wasn’t an expert in Cook but she’s been watching tutorials online which had help her a lot to increase her cooking skills. And working at a restaurant was helping her greatly
“You’re so not fun.. Kylie frowned
“And you always come visit your boring sister?… violet replied walking to her room
“Thank Goodness you know you’re boring … Kira said
“We will just wait for grandma.. Kylie said
“As you please. Violet replied from the room then silence followed
“Don’t you think Violet is staying too long at home? Jeffrey calls himself her friend yet he can’t even help her get into college” Kira said and Kylie smacked her head
“What? Kira frowned
“Leave Jeffrey out of this, you know he’s trying a lot for violet already. He goes to work with her so he could be close to her. His pay for the day is given to Violet throu-ghus yet violet is not even aware…
“I really wish violet accept him. I so much want Jeff for violet. Kylie added
Violet gasped shockingly from where she’s been eavesdropping
“I thought their mom was the one sending me the money.. she thought.
” Wait… Jeffrey is doing all those per time jobs for me? She asked no one in particular with frown.
“I hate to be indebted to someone. Though he’s a friend, a good childhood friend but that doesn’t give him the right to look down on me right? She thought and sigh
“I need to make things clear, I can’t afford to be indebted to him. She said and walked back to her bed.
She sat on it as her eyes scan her room. They landed on her drawer and she went for it
She walked to it and removed the $100 note she kept in it She walked back to the bed and sat on it staring at the money in her hand
“Are you my luck or my bad luck? She said looking at the money.
“How can I see your owner and give him this? She asked again staring at the money
“Talking to money now? Jeez violet, you’re so unbelievable. Kira said from the door
“And why didn’t you knock before coming in?.. Violet glared at them
“I.. I… We,
“If you both have nothing to say, you just have to carry your crazy selves and get the hell outta my room. Violet said and laid on her bed
“Tch… Kylie scoff
“Boring… Let’s go kira” She added and walk out of the room pulling her sister away as they left the house while Granny Pamela just got back
“Grandma.. they chorus and hug-ged her
” Beautiful angels , how are you?
“We’re fine granny”
” Where’s violet? She asked and they pointed at her room. Valerie smile before sharing the candies she bought to them
“Thanks grandma. They chorus while Granny Pamela ruffled their hair.
“I’m home.. Granny Pamela announced while Violet scoff before walking to meet her
“Grandma, why did you leave without telling me? She scolded
“I’m sorry, I never wanted to disturb your sleep when I know you still have work to do during the evening. Granny Pamela replied
“I know, but you can’t go anywhere without letting me know okay? She said and granny Pamela nodded.
Violet walked to her and hug-ged her ti-ghtly. She collected the bags from her and proceeded to the kitchen with them

Lectures were over, Ryan stood at the parking lots waiting for brown to come pick him up. He doesn’t know how to drive.. brown has been doing the driving since his high school
Remy walked pa-ssed him and Ryan’s li-ps curve into a smile on seeing him.
“Remy… Ryan called but Remy didn’t even looked back when he noticed it was Ryan’s voice. He walked to his car and drove off.
Ryan stood still staring at Remy’s car as it drove out of the parking lots
“Sir Ryan.. brown said from behind. He turned and faced him while brown bow his head.
Ryan sigh and stared at the direction Remy went one more time before proceeding to his car. He got in and brown ignited the car

The Li’s mansion
Ryan walked straight to his room without saying a word to the maids who were greeting him.
“He is home? His mom asked from upstairs and the maid nodded. She made her way to Ryan’s room but as usual, he had Locked it from inside
“Son!! Ryan” Leyan banged on his door but he wouldn’t reply or open the door.
She sigh before knocking again
“Ryan, you can’t keep blaming yourself okay? It’s wasn’t your fault ” She sobbed slowly and the door suddenly open
“Mom, if you don’t have any other thing to say, can you please leave?” He said before closing the door at her face
“Ryan! Ryan!” Leyan kept ban-ging on his door
” You didn’t eat breakfast and now you wouldn’t eat dinner? Ryan please!” She sobbed but he ignored her
He sat back on the couch beside his bed. He sigh and closed his eyes, de-eper in thoughts as tears left his eyes

“Hey violet, let’s go together.. Jeffrey smiled at her
“I have a question.. Jeff” Violet said
“What’s that?” He asked
” Your parents are quite wealthy, I see no reason why you should work per time or Are you perhaps doing this because of me? She asked and Jeffery laughed awkwardly
“Of course not, Don’t be silly, why would I work for you?” He replied awkwardly
Violet shook her head when she noticed he was lying. They had lived all their lives together so she could tell when ever he was lying
“If anything is sent to me throu-ghkira and Kylie, I will be returning it to the owner then. She said and Jeffery could feel his heart skip beats yet, he tried to pretend he didn’t hear her
“Grandma I’m off to work.. Violet said
“Give me a minute. Violet told him and he nodded.
She walked back to her room and took the $100 note.
“I might see you owner on my way and I might not. So from today, I will go everywhere with you Incase I see your owner one day so I can return you to him.. she said and pocket the money
She left the room minutes later
“Done? Jeffrey asked and she nodded
” Bye Granny” he waved at granny Pamela
“Let’s go.. violet said and they made their way out of the house.

~~ yin yang restaurant
” A plate of ma po tofu and Kung poa chicken”
“Alright sir” Violet said and went to the counter
She got his order and serve him
The restaurant was very full and they were having great sales. She was exhausted already from the numerous orders, yet customers were still coming
That was the first time they had such much sales
“Violet, come clean here.. her boss said and she ran to him immediately.
“You can go take a rest… I’ll continue taking orders” Jeffrey said and she nodded.
“Violet, come give the couple at row two, sit 5 their meal.. her boss shouted
” And you Jeffrey, go clean row six sit one.. he added
“It seems there’s no way I could take a break” Violet said and they both went back to taking orders
Hours later, they were done with work and they both sat down breathing heavily..
“Jeez today’s work was… hetic than that of yesterday. Violet breath out
“I know right” Jeffery agreed
“I will use the restroom. Violet said and Jeffery nodded then she left

She left the restroom minutes later then she remembered the note at the back of her pocket. She took it out and looked at it
“Are you my lucky charm? She asked looking at the money.
“If Yes, I wish my boss would pay me a thousand dollars.. she smiled and returned the money to her pocket. She walked back to meet Jeffrey and their boss appeared minutes later
“You two did a great job. He smiled at them while Jeffrey and Violet exchange glances
It was strange that their strict boss was smiling at them
“This is for today.. their boss said handing an envelope to each of them
Violet counted the money and her eyes widdened
She couldn’t believe her eyes, she had to recount the money to be sure. And yes, it was $1000.
“Good night and don’t come late tomorrow” Their boss said
“Yes Sir.. they both chorused happily and their boss chuckled
“We will be on our way now Sir.. Thank you.. violet said and the man smiled
“Can’t believe you’re my lucky charm. Should I return you to your owner or keep you? Violet smile as she walk down the street with Jeffrey
