Episode 42
Stephanie’s POV
I wonder why Mom was acting strange yesterday. She couldn’t have found out about me, right? No, that’s not possible.
I’m tired of this contest and today is just the second day. I know I’m going to be among the top ten because the question were very simple.
“We sent a message to your email so you guys should check it. If you’re lucky to make it, make sure you come back to this hall in thirty minutes time to do today’s exam. You’re dismissed” one of the coordinators said and immediately, people began to leave the hall.
I’m sure I’m among the lucky contestants that made it to the second round but it won’t hurt to check, right?
I left the hall and went to my car to pick my phone so that I can check my position.
What?!!!!!! What’s the meaning of this? I ba-rely made it to the top fifty among the five hundred contestants chosen.
Mom and Dad will be so disappointed. The judge promised me top twenty so why am I among the first fifty? Maybe I should see him within fifteen minutes.
“Good day sir” I greeted politely
“Yeah good day, how can I help you?”
Why is he sounding like he doesn’t know who I am?
“Don’t you recognise me sir?”
“Ohh… Stephanie! Sorry, I didn’t really look at you closely” he said after staring at me for some time.
“Alright sir. You said I was going to be among the top twenty so how come I’m among the top fifty instead?”
“Ohh….. that! You’re only going to be among the top twenty when we get to the final stage. It’s going to be ha-rd but I will see what I can do”
“O-okay sir”
“Yeah. I have a lot of things to do now so you are excused”
This man is just so rude.
Olivia’s POV
After the information we were given in the hall, I went out to meet Nelson so I can check if I’m among the lucky chosen contestants.
“You’re hear to check if you’re among the contestants chosen, right?” Nelson asked when I got to him
“Yes”
“You don’t have to worry about that, I’m sure you’re among the chosen ones”
“I still need to check to be sure, besides I also want to know my position”
“Okay then, here” he said stretching out my phone to me.
I logged in to my email to check my score and I was really surprised when I saw that I was the first among 800 contestants. I just opened my mouth and kept staring at it.
“What’s wrong” Nelson asked peering into the phone.
When he noticed I wasn’t responding, he collected the phone from me to check it himself.
“Wow! I knew it! My girlfriend is so brilliant but why are you staring blankly?” he asked confused
“Did you pay the judges to make me the first?”
“You think I would do something like that?” he asked almost flaring up
“N-No that’s not how I meant it. I’m sorry if I got you angry” I said staring downward
“It’s okay, I un-derstand. But you shouldn’t belittle yourself, okay?” He said and I responded by nodding my head
“You have just three minutes left so I would suggest you go to the hall. I wish you all the best” Nelson said hugging me.
“Thanks. See you later” I said walking to the hall.
“We’re going to make it snappy this time around so just settle down and your question sheet will be given to you.” one of the coordinators said and almost immediately, the papers were being distributed to us
“You have just thirty-five minutes this time but it’s still going to be 100 questions. We reduced the time so that you guys can learn how to be fast with whatever you are doing.” another coordonator said
That’s not going to be a problem for me since I spend thirty minutes on the questions Nelson gave to me back at home.
After thirty minutes
“Stop writing everyone. Drop the papers and quietly walk out of the hall. Don’t forget the practical process will begin tomorrow. Bye”
Finally! I’m damn tired and that’s because I read at night. I just hope I get lucky enough to be chosen tomorrow.
“Baby, how was it” Nelson asked on our way to the car.
“Fine” I answered tiredly
“I’m sure you read overnight, you never listen to me”
“You know I always listen to you, it’s just that I want to make you proud. I’m sorry” I said pouting my li-ps
“Do you want me to kis-s you here” Nelson asked and I quickly return my li-ps to normal
“Let’s go home before you start behaving like a pervert” I said to him and quickly ran to the car. Who knows what he will do if I stay behind.
Lest I forget, I’m going to call the first lady tomorrow so we can meet after the contest.
I don’t know why but I suddenly feel secure and safe around her like I was meant to be with her from the start.
I really don’t seem to un-derstand why I’m like this but I guess it will change with time.
Park Min Shin’s POV
I’m currently in the lab about to carry out the test but I don’t know why I’m scared.
What if the test turns out negative? No, I should be optimistic, right?
I brou-ght out the hair and started doing the necessary things. The result will be out in thirty minutes and I don’t plan to leave this place until the result is out.
I wouldn’t want anything to go wrong, I will make sure I stay here till the end.
*Thirty minutes later*
The result is finally out. I will keep it safely and check it when I get home because I have a lot of things to do right now.
After I closed for the day, I went home, took a shower and settled down in my study to check the result.
W-What is the meaning of this? Stephanie wasn’t our daughter all these while? No, it can’t be.
How did this happen? If it isn’t Stephanie, then it’s who? Is it Olivia? But Olivia was born in England and has never being to Korea except now for the contest so how can it be her?
Should I carry out a DNA test on her? I don’t even have her number and I will prefer her calling me herself.
I was still lost in thoughts when my phone started ringing. Who could this be? Huh? Olivia? Wow! She’s a true daughter of her father.
“Good evening ma” her small cute voice said into the phone
“Evening my daughter, how are you doing?” I was planning to say dear but I mistakenly said daughter, I hope she un-derstands
“Fine ma and you ma’am?”
“I’m fine too. So what’s your reason for calling?”
“You said you wanted to see me ma so I called to inform you that we can meet tomorrow after the contest”
“Ohh….. Okay, that’s nice. Thanks darling”
“You’re welcome. Bye ma”
“Alright dear, sleep ti-ght” I said and ended the call.
This is a golden opportunity to remove some strands of her hair but what exactly am I supposed to do with Stephanie?
I guess time will tell. Besides I still need to investigate the issue, I have to know where the fault came from.

Bella’s POV
We’re finally done with our exams, just 2 years more and I’ll be done with college.
I haven’t seen Olivia and Nelson in school ever since we finished the exam and I know Nelson isn’t someone to miss school even after exams.
I will use this opportunity to go to his mansion and sed-uce him. After wearing a really skimpy dress, I got into my car and drove off to his mansion.
“Good day, what of Nelson?” I asked the gateman that opened the gate for me.
“He is not around, he travelled few days ago” the gateman replied
“Travelled? To where and with who?”
“I don’t know about that ma”
“Okay, thanks for your time” I said and drove out of the compound.
Where could Nelson have travelled to? Let me check up on Olivia first.
“Good day ma’am” I greeted the person I presume to be Olivia’s Mom when I got there.
“Welcome dear. How may I help you?”
“I’m Olivia’s friend ma” I replied nervously
“Uhh…. you’re Cindy right?” she asked leaving me in confusion
Who is Cindy and what connection does she have with Olivia? I guess this is just the perfect chance I needed.
“Yes ma’am. I’m Cindy and I came to check up on Olivia because she hasn’t been in school for a while now”
“Ohh…. that! She travelled”
“Travelled? May I know where she travelled to?” I asked but I notice she hesitated a little before responding.
“She travelled to her uncle’s place but she will be back before you know it”
“Thanks ma, I will be on my way now” I said and left
I’m relieved knowing Olivia isn’t with Nelson, I had actually thought they travelled together. What a huge relief!
The only thing left now is to find out where Nelson travelled to and of course, that’s not going to be difficult since he’s a celebrity.

Olivia’s POV
My nervousness has reached it’s peak as it is now. I was thinking it will be easier to perform than answering questions but now I know I’m completely wrong.
How am I supposed to perform in the presence of 400 contestants, many judges and the audience at large. Apart from that, the contest is going to be shown on every Korean TV stations.
“Olivia can you please let me concentrate on driving?” Nelson said frustratedly
“I’m sorry, it’s just that I’m really nervous”
“Why?!! You and I know you’re really good at dancing and dancing so why are you nervous?”
“I…….I, I’m not really good at dancing” I stuttered
“I won’t argue with you but please let me focus, okay”
“Alright then” I said and sat quietly without making a single sound.
“Don’t fu-ck up in there because of your nervousness, also, be optimistic. Believe in your self and the rest will be easy. Promise me you won’t be nervous”
“I promise” he pec-ked my cheeks and then I went to the hall
“Ladies and gentlemen, you won’t be making use of the hall today. Instead you will pick up your things and go to the back of the stage where you will be given new tags. The audience are going to sit in the hall, please be fast about that” the coordinator said and left the stage while we all stood up and went to the back of the stage.
“Contestant number one” we heard from the blaring speakers. The first contestant quickly stood up and went on stage after we were given head worn microphones.
They kept calling them until it finally got to my turn. Ohh God, please help me.
“You’re going to be performing ‘chu rumor’ by iz*one” the contestant said to me when I got on stage.
I never knew they were going to give us a song to perform. This is going to be a bit difficult.
No, I shouldn’t think that way. Nelson said I should be optimistic and not nervous.
“Your time starts…….. now”
The song without music came up and I instantly got into position, I can do this.
After about 3 minutes and some seconds, I finished performing. The crowd cheered so much that I feared my eardrum would close.
“You did great babe” Nelson said to me when I got outside while I collap-sed on his shoulders
“I’m really tired” I said ba-rely audibly
“You only performed one song and you are tired? Is this how you’re going to behave when you finally become a K-Pop idol?” Nelson asked
“No but you know I practiced a lot last night so I would definitely be tired”
“Okay then. You will rest for few hours in my hotel before the meeting with the First Lady”
Nelson said after which we went to the hotel.
Park Min Shin’s POV
I haven’t been my myself ever since I saw the test result last night, everything is just so confusing.
If Stephanie isn’t my daughter, then where did the mistake come from? How would a renouned doctor make this kind of mistake?
Thankfully I’ve hired private investigators to work on the case so very soon the truth of the matter will be out.
