TONY POV
for days I haven’t heard from my friend and I worried something bad might have happened to him…. I closed from work and decided to go pay him a visit and probably talk him out of the too much alcohol his consuming….
I got to Oscar’s house but he was not there, I met two ladies who didn’t look familiar at all and the other one fli-rt with me immediately she set her eyes on me.
TONY
Good evenings ladies
ANITA
good evening Mr handsome
(she said winking at me)
AMANDA
who are you?
TONY
I am confuse too…. who are you people? I’m here to see my friend oscar
AMANDA
you must be tony…. you are tony right?
TONY
yes….and you are?
AMANDA
I’m amanda, Oscar’s girlfriend
TONY
I thought he said you guys broke up?
AMANDA
maybe he said that un-der the influence of alcohol…. news flash I’m carrying his baby.
TONY
you are pregnant?
I screamed in shocked, I know Oscar must have ran away from the house after hearing such horrible news…. why now that my friend is already putting his acts together and trying to win chenemi back that this woman would come with such news.
ANITA
(She clears her throat)
since no one would introduce me, I will introduce myself…. my name is Anita and she’s my sister… and yeah I’m single and searchingctoo.
TONY
(I for-ced a smile out)
that’s good for you…. please where is my friend?
they both suddenly hissed and started to do something else not answering my question.
TONY
hello!!!!
ANITA
seeing you come here, looking this cute and smelling so nice I thought you would have br@in but don’t give me the impression that you are a fool just like your friend.
TONY
seriously? and why is that?
AMANDA
look at me tony, I’m I not s-×y enough? I’m beautiful, educated, clas-sy and above all I’m carrying Oscar’s child …. shouldn’t I be enough for him? why would he go back to that dirty girl?
I was confused, the last time I checked chenemi was out of the house and we haven’t seen her… so which dirty girl is Amanda talking about?
TONY
what do you mean? is chenemi back?
AMANDA
you even know her too? that’s good do compare me and that girl, who would you pick if you were given the opportunity?
I was getting so impatient,I seriously wanted to hear her say chenemi was back to the house….I really missed her and just like Oscar I had been miserable myself but I man up and stayed strong.
TONY
is chenemi back or not
(I yelled)
AMANDA
(She was Shocked)
did she leave this house before? because when I came back she was here and Oscar has been all over her like a puppy.
I was so happy, I couldn’t even hide how happy I was….I smiled so de-eply that Anita had to snap her finger in front of me to stop me from smiling like a fool.
ANITA
you seem too happy for someone they just told his friend’s girlfriend came back.
TONY
Where are they right now?
Anita is one hell of a girl, I don’t know how she did but I was sure she read me like a book and knew I had feelings for chenemi… before amanda could answer me she grabbed my both shoulder and said.
ANITA
this is crazy, you and your Friend is in love with the same woman? tsh tsh tsh it’s such a pity that your friend beat you to it….
TONY
what do you mean by we are in love with one woman and how did he beat me to it?
ANITA
just few minutes ago Oscar was in there giving chenemi or how did you call her some sugar… I bet he went really de-ep into her because I could hear her M0-ning right from here…. and to crown it up, they spent the night in the same room.
I had no idea why Anita was telling me all that, but one thing was clear…. she wanted me to be jealous and it worked for her because I felt so jealous that I also strangle her with my here hands.
TONY
Where is Oscar and chenemi?
(I said with furry in my voice and eyes)
AMANDA
I love how angry you are, I’m angry too…. so let’s cut a deal.
TONY
what nonsense deal is that?
AMANDA
let’s try to separate them, so you can have chenemi to yourself while I have Oscar to myself.
ANITA
what would now happen to me?
TONY/AMANDA
oh shut up please!!!
we both screamed at her like we planned it… everything Anita had just told me had gotten into me so strongly that I was beginning to see sense in what Amanda was saying…. since the girls won’t tell me where Oscar and chenemi went to I decided to leave.
as I got to the door amanda ran to me and held me ti-ghtly
AMANDA
take my number, I’m sure you will nee-d it very soon
TONY
get behind me you witch…. I will never nee-d your number.
I said and pushed her out of my way and left the house.
MRS STELLA
I was very shocked when Janet came to my room to inform me Oscar and chenemi were waiting downstairs….I ran downstairs like s little girl to see for myself… seeing how happy and clean my son had become I felt so happy too.
Chenemi ran to hu-g me, I hu-gged her back….
CHENEMI
I miss you mI’m
MRS STELLA
I miss you more dear and I’m glad that you came back home.
CHENEMI
I’m glad I did too…. where is your husband?
MRS STELLA
he went to work…. when did you come back? that isn’t necessary, what’s important is that you are back and I can see how happy oscar is looking.
CHENEMI
(She smiled)
mum I’m very sorry for the way I treated you when you came to see me at kunle’s place
MRS STELLA
common dear, you treated me well so what are you saying?
CHENEMI
I still want to apologise mum
MRS STELLA
it’s okay chenemi…. for a woman who has pas-s throu-ghso much from one family she should do more….but you showed me that instead of hate love filled your heart.
She came and hu-g me again and I hu-gged her back ti-ghtly…. like a little child oscar didn’t leave her side for one minutes…. even when chenemi and I want to go and cook he followed us to the kitchen.
That was when Oscar told me the problem his facing in his house.
CHENEMI
I told you not to border mum about this…. why did you tell her.
MRS STELLA
why won’t he tell me chenemi, who is that gold digger that wants to reap where she did not show with her fake pregnancy?
CHENEMI
mum don’t worry yourself… I will handle her…
MRS STELLA
And how do you intend doing that?
CHENEMI
have you forgotten who I am mum? leave everything to me.. I will handle her.
Soon chenemi got tired and complained she was feeling sleepy…. Oscar took her to one of the rooms upstairs so she could sleep.
immediately they left Janet moved clsoer to me and whispered something.
JANET
mum, your daughter in-law is with a child too.
MRS STELLA
(Shocked)
how do you know?
JANET
you know I grew up with my grandma?
MRS STELLA
yes I know that
JANET
she taught me all this signs to check in a woman and know if she’s pregnant not…. if you think I’m lying ask her….sje would confirm it that she’s pregnant.
I didn’t let her finish before I hu-gged her do ti-ghtly,I would be the most happiest woman on Earth if what Janet said is true

OSCAR’S POV
we were in our room relaxing when mum came and asked me to excuse them…i didn’t want to leave my babe but she insisted so I had to go downstairs to wait for them to talk.
I waited for about ten minutes before mum came downstairs smiling, I asked her what was so important that she had to discuss with my wife alone and she said.
MRS STELLA
you will know in due time…but for now, just be gentle with that girl okay?
OSCAR
mum trust me that I will be gentle with her… she’s the best gift God has ever given me…… mum I want to thank you for bringing chenemi into my life.
MRS STELLA
I’m glad you appreciate the gift now… that’s why you nee-d to make her happy always… whatever she wants just give it to her no questions asked okay.
the way mum was sounding I started to have this feeling there was something she was hiding from me but she’s still using indirect to tell me what it is but I didn’t get it.
mum and I were still talking when Janet came to inform us lunch was served… the way she and moum looked at each other and how mum nodded her head happily made me even more suspicious.
OSCAR
is there something you guys ain’t telling me?
JANET/MRS STELLA
NOTHING!!!?
They both said and Janet went back to the kitchen while mum hit me on the shoulder to go bring my wife downstairs to eat some food.
I went upstairs to bring my wife but immediately I entered she grabbed my li-ps and started to ki-ss me pas-sionately.
I ki-ssed her for a while before I pulled away to catch my breathe.
OSCAR
mum said we should come downstairs for…..
she shut me up with another round of ki-ss, I shut up and ki-ssed her even more…. soon she pulled away from me.
CHENEMI
Oscar go and close the door.
OSCAR
no way…. you want…..
CHENEMI
(She smiled and winked)
yeah I want some more.
I got up like a puppy and locked the door, I jumped back in bed and she helped me take off my shirt…. I continued to ki-ss her…. then a knock came at the door and we had to stop.
CHENEMI
mum is waiting, let’s go downstairs.
(she smiled mischievously)
OSCAR
but we can do a quickie
( I said looking down on my erected di-ck)
CHENEMI
we will do that later in the house… let’s go.
I came down from the bed and put on my shirt, I held her hand and she came down from the bed too….. she went to the toilet to pee…. my phone started go ring so I went to the table where I kept it to carry it.
CHENEMI
let’s go downstairs Oscar, I’m starving.
I didn’t take the call or even check who was calling I held her by the wai-st and we went downstairs to eat.
at the table mom was just feeling chenemi all the good things and telling her to ask for more if she nee-ds anything.
to me I felt maybe mum was just happy that her son has finally changed and found love in the same woman he hated before.
After lunch we went back upstairs to relax a little before going home…. for some reasons I noticed chenemi sleeps too much this days but I felt maybe she wasn’t getting much sleep at kunle’s place because of me.
Around 6pm I woke her up with a ki-ss and she ki-ssed back like she was expecting the ki-ss from me.
OSCAR
it’s time to go home baby
CHENEMI
(She pulled me and cuddled me)
let’s sleep a little.
OSCAR
(I smiled at her)
don’t worry you can continue in the car…. dad would soon be back from work and I don’t want to see him.
CHENEMI
(She rele-ase me from the cuddle)
are you been serious right now? you are running away from your father?
OSCAR
I hate that man with everything in me….
CHENEMI
oh wow…. hate is a strong word oscar.
OSCAR
I know and that’s why I used it…. let’s go home baby….
I carried her from the bed bridal style and took her downstairs, I dropped her in the living room before I remembered my phone.
OSCAR
I left my phone in the room babe, I will be right back.
CHENEMI
okay…. please he fast…. I’m starving and sleepy.
As I was heading upstairs, mum was coming out from the kitchen with Janet, they had a lots of bags with them…I wondered what was inside though….I ran upstairs to carry my phone and chenemi’s handbag.
when I came back I was shocked to see the different kinds of foods mum and Janet had prepared for us to go home with.
OSCAR
Jesus Christ, mum are we doing a child’s thanksgiving or what?
MRS STELLA
what is your concern? can’t I treat my daughter inlaw to a nice meal again?
OSCAR
I didn’t say that mum, but this food is too much
CHENEMI
mum don’t mind him ooh, this food is not too much… he would he shocked when I finished it tomorrow.
OSCAR
that is unbelievable
CHENEMI
okay, just watch and see…..
mum walked us to the garage where we parked out car, she and I carried the whole load she didn’t let chenemi take anything……. even her hand bag mom hanged it on my ne-ck and said I must carry it….. this people are hiding something from me.
NARRATOR’S POV
Mrs Paul’s husband just got back from work, she put water in the bathroom for him to take his bath before eating…. immediately Mr Paul entered the bathe room his phone started ringing and Mrs Paul picked it when she recognized the number.
MRS STELLA
good evening sir
MRS PAUL
it’s me ooh my friend
MRS STELLA
(She giggled)
oh my good friend, my wonderful friend….how are you?
MRS PAUL
I’m fine ooh, but this one you are sounding so happy tonight hope everything is well?
MRS STELLA
my Friend I called to share a good news with you…imdeed I’m very happy tonight
MRS PAUL
really? I’m all ears ooh… what’s the good news?
MRS STELLA
(She clears her throat)
do you know that our children are now in love?
MRS PAUL
it’s impossible, you mean my stubborn daughter chenemi has fallen in love with your son?
MRS STELLA
I’m telling you, in fact they just left my house…. you nee-ded to have seen them.
MRS PAUL
but wait ooh, how did it happen? and hope chenemi had dropped all those her stubborn attitude?
MRS STELLA
yes she’s no longer a fighter, she’s now a responsible girl.
MRS PAUL
(she felt happy but still shocked)
it’s ha-rd to believe…. that my chenemi is now a better woman.
MRS STELLA
that’s not all ooh my friend…. just today I found out chenemi is pregnant and…
MRS PAUL
chenemi is pre—- what? oh my God how did that happened? that wasn’t part of our plans ooh… what I’m I going to tell her father once he finds out his only daughter is pregnant without a husband.
Mr Paul got to the bathroom and discovered his wife had forgotten to bring his towel to the bathroom so he came to carry it himself when he overhead his wife talking on the phone so he stood outside listening to her conversation with her friend
when he heard his daughter jad stopped fighting je felt very happy and grateful that city could change his child… but his heart shattered when he heard that chenemi was pregnant…. he angrily barged in on his wife.
MR PAUL
I want you to explain to me what plan you had eitn you friend and how my daui got pregnant without getting married.
Mrs Paul was shocked to see her husband and more shocked that her husband heard all she has been saying.
