“Kyle?!” Océane stuttered in disbelief
“Océane what will it take you to see that I love you and you mean a lot to me. I’ve never loved like this before plea-se don’t let me regret it” Kyle blurted out. Océane moved closer to him and hvgged him as tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Are you going with me?” Kyle asked and she nodded in tears
“you broke your promise to me” Kyle accused pu-lling from the hvg
Océane smiled with guilt “am sorry”
“It’s okay but I don’t forgive you”
Océane faked a frown “why?”
“you owe me for that”
“How do I pay?”
“I’ll state it when I want”
“That makes it two prices”
“Yes! you owe me two”
“I’ll have to tell Gabby that I’ll be leaving with you”
“Let’s go then” Kyle took her hand and led her to the front yard. Gabby was still pla-ying with the kids.
“Gabby?!” Océane called and Gabby whirled around to face them “can I talk with you for a minute?”
“Sure” Gabby followed Océane into the cottage.

“you’re leaving?” Gabby was shocked when Océane told her she’d be leaving with Kyle.
“I have to Gabby, I don’t like seeing people hurt because of me”
“what about his mother? What if she does something bad to you and Adele?”
“I don’t believe Kyle will let that happen”
“where was Kyle when you were abandoned here?”
Océane took in a de-ep breath “what do you suggest I do?”
“I know you are following your heart but you shouldn’t let it lead you everywhere. Just be careful, that’s all I have to say”

“You’re welcome. I wish you the best”
Océane sat quietly in the pas-s£nger seat as the cat cruised into the road. Kyle was beyond the wheel but his couldn’t st©p staring at Océane throu-gh the mirror. Océane kept her gaze fixed outside to avoid Kyle’s stare.
“what really happened to your face?” Kyle suddenly asked
“I fell and injured”
“madre sl@pped you right?”
“No she didn’t”
“Did she warn you never to return?”
“No”
“did she threaten you?”
“No”
“Do you have a reply aside ‘no’?”
Océane chuckled “that’s the reply to all the questions you asked”
“did she order her driver to bring you here?”
“No”
“Do you want to go back to the mansion?”
“No”
“Do you love me?”
Océane opened her mouth to say ‘no’ when she un-derstood the question.
“No?” Kyle arched his brows
“I wasn’t going to say no”
“then what’s your reply?”
Océane looked at him and fell back on the seat and shut her eyes. “am so sleepy” she faked a yawn
“seriously?” Kyle scoffed and continued driving

“Things aren’t going like I planned” Lovane sneered pacing about in his room “Océane ruined everything” she pushed down the side lamp angrily. She felt stranded and lonely in Mexico. There was no one to talk to. Just her in a big mansion without a hope of getting the n£¢klace.
“Lovane?!” Maëlle, Maëlys, and Maryse called running into the room
Lovane faked a smile on seeing them “How’re you doing?”
“we nee-d you help” Maëlle said
“What’s it?”
“Tomorrow is June 12” Maryse replied
“What’s June 12?” Lovane asked
“Every June 12, Kyle asks us to ask for anything and he’s going to get it for us” Maëlle explained
“And we totally forgot now we don’t have anything to ask for” Maëlys said
“Can you help us with something we might nee-d?” Maryse asked
“I really know” Lovane replied
“what are we going to do now?”they drawled pouting therel-ips
“we should ask for for a phone” Maëlle suggested
“Kyle said we’re too young to have phones” Maëlys protested
Lovane thought for a while then asked “what about a n£¢klace?”
“we’ve got tons of that” Maëlle said with a wave or the hand
“wait!” Maryse prompted “there’s a n£¢klace I’ve always admired”
“what n£¢klace?” Lovane asked with a sm-irk
“the blue n£¢klace Kyle always wears” Maryse replied
“I’ve always admired that n£¢klace too” Maëlle said
“I said it first” Maryse snapped
Lovane sm-irked secretly “the three of you can ask for the same thing”
“Then who’s gonna keep it?” Maryse asked
“I’ll keep it for you” Lovane replied
“That’s a deal” they all agreed

Kyle and Océane arrived at the mansion at exactly 5:10 pm. They were really exhausted when they arrived and Océane had fallen asleep in the car while pretending to sleep in the car. Kyle pu-ll-ed the cat to a halt in the garage and got down. He walked to the other side of the car and proceeded to carry Océane out when she woke up.
“we’re home” Kyle said and she smiled
“When did we arrive?” Océane askedas she got down from the car
“you were fast asleep cause you were avoiding my question” Kyle stated accusingly and slammed the door shut behind her.
Oceane said nothing else as they walked into the mansion. Kyle took her to the room she had stayed when she visited his mansions.
“Thank you” Océane said and sat on the be-d
“should I call Maeva and tell her you’re okay?” Kyle asked
“plea-se don’t” Océane replied hastily. She didn’t want Lise to know she was still around.
“she has been running a fever since you went missing”
Océane heaved a sigh and said nothing.
“What about Adele? You also don’t want her to know?”
“I don’t know” Océane breathed out
“Madre isn’t going to find out, I just don’t want them to be worried” Kyle said persuasively
“Alright”
“you go have your bath now. I’ll be in my room.” Kyle said and left then Océane got up from the be-d and walked into the bathroom.

Kyle sat on a stool in his mini bar to a glas-s of wine. Lise had called to see him but he didn’t want to go cause he knew why she wanted to see him.
Marrying Ninon.
He sipped from his wine as he thought of how marrying Ninon would be.
Marrying a woman he loved nothing about. He suddenly wished it were Océane he was to marry. Océane was everything he nee-ded in a woman whereas Ninon was the opposite.
“Kyle?!” Océane called zoning him out of his thoughts. Kyle looked over his shoulders to see Océane approaching him. She was done bathing and wore a baggy sweater with shorts.
Océane pu-ll-ed out a stool beside Kyle and sat down.
“Want some?” Kyle raised his wine glas-s
“what’s that?”
“wine”
she took a sip from Kyle’s wine and said “I want some too”
Kyle took another wine glas-s and filled it with wine “here” he proffered her with the wine. Kyle watched Océane gulp down the wine then belched loudly when she had emptied the glas-s.
“Who’s gonna cook dinner?” Kyle asked
“am tired” Océane said
“me too. Let’s go to be-d without eating” Kyle said
“Great” Océane filled the glas-s again and continued drinking.
“How do you view mermaids?” Océane suddenly asked
Kyle gave a lopsided sm-irk and replied “As fishes”
Océane spat out the drink in her mouth back into the glas-s. “Fi– shes?”
“Yes” Kyle shrugged “They’ve got fins and tails and are meant to be eaten like fishes”
Océane’s jaws dropped and her eyes almost popped out. “What would you do if you saw a mermaid right now?” she wanted to know
“nee-d I remind you that nothing is cooking for dinner so if I should see a mermaid right now…” he ru-bbe-d his palms menacingly “that means dinner is served”
“Do you eat mermaids?”
“A lot” Kyle said “that was my favorite meal back in Phili-ppines. The fishermen always caught them”
Océane slammed her head in the table and Kyle bur-st into laughter.

lovane strolled outside the compound later in the night. She was really tired of the boring mansion and nee-ded to get some fresh air. Lovane walked out throu-gh the gate into the street and sat on a bench by the roadside. The night was lit and everyone was having fine except her.
“Hi!” Melvin greeted from behind and Lovane whirled around to see him smiling at her.
“What are you doing out here?” he asked
“Watching the night, the people, the activities, everything is just great” Lovane replied
Melvin smiled and sat beside her “it’s been a while”
“Yeah. You totally forgot me” Lovane joked
“I didn’t” Melvin said and stared into the night “The night is cold”
“yes” Lovane agreed and shuddered unconsciously
“Can I flir-t with you?”
“flir-t?”
Melvin chuckled “am a total j£rk” he said to himself then said “Never mind”
“Have you been hearing from Kyle?”
“we met at work today”
“can I ask you for a favor?”
“Go on”
“I nee-d you to get me information about Kyle and Océane from Kyle”
“like a spy?”
“yes”
“I can’t do that to my best friend. He’s more like a brother”
“I mean any harm. I just want to know if they’re okay”
“well, they are. We found Océane alre-ady”
“you found her?”
“Lise shouldn’t know about it” Kyle warned
“I won’t mention a thing but where’s Océane now?”
“Kyle’s mansion”
Lovane frowned “Are they together?”
“yes”
“do you think he loves her?”
“C’mon Lovane, what’s up with the questions?”
“Nothing. I just want to know”
Melvin sighed “Actually, I think he does”
Lovane burned with anger and jealousy. She felt like smashing Océane.
“do you love him?” Melvin asked
“yes… I mean no” Lovane stuttered
“am also surprised that he left you here and took Océane. Thought you were his Señorita?
“He didn’t really leave me behind. I chose to stay” Lovane lied
“I see… So how’s living with the quads?”
“fun”
“Good for you. Those girls are a load of problems”
Lovane smiled “They are– in a cute way”
“maybe”
They talked about other things till it was late then leave returned to the mansion.

Océane la-id on the be-d as her stomach grumbled. She was really hungry and tired of waiting snacks. She nee-ded a meal and Kyle had gone to be-d.
Océane c@m£ up with the idea of soaking herself in the bath to relax herself. She pu-ll-ed off her clothes and entered the alre-ady ran bath.
The water was cool and exactly what she nee-ded to relax.
Immediately her legs t©uçhed the water, Océane remembered her home in Oceania and turned into a mermaid. She felt relax that she had no idea when she drifted to sleep.
Minutes later, Océane awoke to the sound of a door creaking open. She looked around to figure out where the noise was coming from and realized a p@rt of the wall was opening. She felt a pres£nce and the first thing that dawned on her was her tail. She was still in her mermaid form.
Océane hastily stretched out her tail so it would change to legs when she attempts standing.
Before she could stand, the wall opened and walked in.
