When it was exactly two in the afternoon, we all went to the dinning for lunch. I could see every one taking their lunch very quic-kly. And just I was about to ask Kunmi why? A loud bell rang as usual with a loud voice which shouted, ‘Twenty more minutes.’

“We have lesson to catch up,” Kunmi said in a hurry. “I didn’t get what Mr. Thompson taught us during the day, so I nee-d to get to clas-s early before he starts his lesson.” She mentioned the physics teacher I just met. He was tall like a mango tree, with a lean bĀ©dy, leaving his full hair to grow more, and his glas-ses on. Everything he taught us was taken offhand, and he solved every question given to him correctly. The funniest p@rt was that, he kept begging the clas-s to give him more problems (questions) to solve.

I noticed some were praying for him to just leave the clas-s with his problems (questions), while some of us were shouting.
“We have more problems for you to solve sir.”
On hearing that, he smiled, solving questions upon questions until his time was over.

Exactly five more minutes for everyone to leave the hall, Kunmi and I were done eating and were alre-ady on our feet.
“I don’t want to miss his clas-s. Let’s go,” she gr@bbĀ£d my hand, and I followed beside her.

Some left the dinning also, and some were busy discussing, while some sat comfortably eating, not bothered about the time. I wanted to ask why everyone didn’t leave at once like my former hostel, but I decided to keep my mouth shut. As if re-ading my mind, Kunmi spoke up.
“The fact that no one f0rƧĀ£s you to go to lesson doesn’t mean you should stay behind too. We all know why we are here. And that’s to study.” She told me.
“That means the teachers will have to wait for everyone to settle down?” I asked, but she laughed as if what I said was funny.
“You’re joking right!” She stĀ©pped and looked back, but immediately continued walking. “Once it’s exactly 2:30pm, lesson starts. No one waits for any one.” She said, walking straight into the clas-s. To my surprise, the teacher was there waiting, and more than half of the clas-s were sitted. In my former school, we spend half of the time schedule for the teacher, ma-king a terrible noise before he or she arrives.
Here I like their punctuality, and I like how serious some of the students were. I was sure there were lot of brilliant students I would be competing with. Starting with Kunmi. Looking at her direction, I could see her alre-ady punching (pressing) her calculator. She must really like calculating, because the same day I walked into room six, she was solving, and solving more problems like my new physics teacher would say.
When it was 4:30pm, we all left the school back to the hostel. We spent two hours for the two subjects which was physics and English. I must say, Crown school teachers were very good!

A week after, I was getting familiar with how Crown school students do their things.
Every Saturday was the day for washing. Each room has a washing and drying machine they use.

I couldn’t stĀ©p wondering

What do I expect?

Do they even wash at home?
I was bringing out my dirty clothes, when I heard one of my room mates, Benedicta, shouting.

“Anita, this washing machine isn’t washing well.” Her voice was so thin that you would think she ba-rely talks.
A small smile formed on myl-ips.

What should we do if the washing machine isn’t washing well.
Besides, Flora, who was also in my room just finished washing and didn’t complain.

“Just throw it inside again,” Anita replied, sorting out her dirty clothes too.

“No, you don’t get it. I want them sparkling white, and clean. This is the fourth time I’m throwing the clothes inside it, and I’m not satisfied with what this thing is washing.” She said, pointing her tiny hand at the washing machine.
hehe…fourth time!

I could not laugh

Can she wash those clothes with her tiny hands for four times? I couldn’t suppress the laugh, but I managed not to laugh too loud. Temi saw me, and immediately threw me one of her grammars you can’t easily find in a dictionary.
“She’s always sanctimonious,” she hissed.

Yes… Very sanctimonious

I said to myself, grinning as if I knew what she said. But I had the idea she was referring to the girl rudely. After Benedicta spent hours washing and drying, it finally got to my turn, and I was fast with it. Once the washing machine washed is p@rt, I washed it all over again with my hands like I do at home before drying and spre-ading it.

Exactly 7pm on dot. As usual, we had our supper. After everyone had taken supper, the bell for prep rang, and everyone went out to school to observe prep. Victoria and Debbie c@mĀ£ to call Temi, forcing Kunmi and I to follow them to their usual seat. There was light everywhere, as we walked our way to a clas-s.
Mrs. Benny, our house mistress, and Mr. Sam, the house master, sat at a corner watching over us outside the open block. All the sĀ£nior students, from ss1 to ss3, sat together where they loved to.

I sat with the girls and immediately brou-ght out my books to start re-ading. As always, Temi was with her English textbook and her big Oxford dictionary. I noticed Kunmi solves (calculate) a lot. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t re-ad other subjects. I concentrated on my physics, solving as well from my textbook. Few minutes later, I saw them at the corner of my eye walked in. Victor, Yomi, and the other guy I was yet to introduced to, walked in.

Only God knew what Victor told the three girls who were sitting beside me, because with a smile spre-ad on their faces, they got up and left. The three took each seat, bringing out a note. Victor who sat beside me at my right side, cleared his throat, which I knew was intentionally done for me to look at him, but I did not. At the corner of my eye, I saw him took my phone, and later returned it. My phone beeped, telling me I have a message. I picked up my phone opening the message, and I was stunned.

šŸ“–šŸ“–
āœ’’Anything I can calculate?’

I re-ad it, and stared at Victor’s name, which indicated he sĀ£nt the message. I turned to him, but his face was glued to the book I was hundred percent sure he wasn’t re-ading. A smile crept on myl-ips, as I typed back.

‘ Hey, mister man! You’re disturbing!’
I dropped my phone, and immediately, it beeped me again.

‘ Lol. You’re taking advantage of me, because you
know I’m nice and I’m a gentle man.’

I smiled as I re-ad the message he sĀ£nt back.
Big head

He was just trying to distract me.
Typing very fast, I sĀ£nt back.
‘What do I do now when I realized one of the tall,
dark guys have sweet mouth too?’
I still haven’t dropped my phone when another message c@mĀ£ in instantly from him.

‘ k!sshis sweet mouth and make him the happiest
guy on earth.’

I laughed out but immediately covered my mouth to stĀ©p the noise from disturbing others as I typed really fast to reply back.
‘ In your dreams sĀ£nior Victor. But look here, she
might be pretty, fair and have the most beautiful
smile in the world. But hmm…. Beware of
Heartbreakers.’

I sĀ£nt back, ma-king jest of him, as he re-ad it. Our eyes locked, immediately he was done re-ading.

‘Silly girl’šŸ’ƒ

‘Silly boy’šŸ‘®

‘Crazy girl’šŸ’ƒ

‘Crazy boy’šŸ‘®

‘Me?’šŸ’ƒ

‘Yes, you. Big head’

We kept exchanging words to each other, not knowing Victoria who sat at my left side was watching me. She collected my phone and re-ad the conversation between her brother and I. She shook her head trying not to laugh but a small smile formed on herl-ips. She switched off my phone before mouthing, ‘re-ad’.
I turned to Victor and brou-ght out my ton-gue at him.
“sĀ£nior Victor re-ad,” I mouthed, and immediately turned to my book. Prep was almost over and I haven’t solved anything.
Suzy, study well. Is that clear?

As I recollected that voice, I didn’t hesitate to pick up my pen, solving like a mad man

Daddy words are not to joke with.

#EPISODE_5

It was Crown School inter-house sport day. The school has four houses. Yellow house, Green house, Blue house and red house. I was excited to be in yellow house because Kunmi was there too. But Victoria, Temi, and Debbie were in green house. So we don’t really see or communicate well because every house has its own field. But on sport day, we got to see each other. Each house has its own spĀ©t, and coach. Kunmi and I waved at them when we got there, as we went to our group.

I was at a corner among my group warming myself up as I jogged. It was just a pompous show off because when it comes to running, I never show my face to the coach. I was not that fat and neither was I slim. I just couldn’t try it. If I should, my breathing will be out of normal. Besides, running hurt your legs. So what enjoyment do people see in it?

“Hmm..” A throat was cleared behind me. Without anyone telling me, I knew who it was.
My regular disturbance.

“Miss cheetah re-ady to destroy the field with that long legs.” Victor said in a mocking tone.
Trying not to smile, I pout myl-ips, continuing jogging.

“As you can see, I’m warming up,” I said, proud of myself. At that p@rticular time, our sport master walked to my group.

“Who are those running?” He asked very quic-kly as the ones who could run so well c@mĀ£ out. Only God knew the spirit that made the coach turned to me.

“Suzy, what about you?”

“Me? Hmm..No sir!” I stammered, as Victor bur-st into laughter.

“The cheetah!” He win-ked at me.

“Cheetah, the cheetah!” He tea-sed again with a n@Ć»ghty smile on his face as I rolled my eyes at him. I didn’t know why master asked me when he knew I don’t run. I jogged away to Kunmi’s side, as voices were chanting for their respected houses. Voices of the green house increa-sed as their represĀ£ntative was leading, but in a twi-nkle of an eye, the yellow house represĀ£ntative c@mĀ£ first and every one in my group screamed in excitement.

“Yes, we won! We won!” They all shouted, jumping and hvgging one another. And suddenly, someone hvgged me from behind.
“My God!” It was Victor. “Victor stĀ©p!” I was smiling, pushing his hand away, as he took a selfie. I laughed as I realized it was a selfie. And once he re-leased me, I saw Yomi laughing really ha-rd . That guy was nothing different from Victor, except their third friend whom I was yet to be introduced to. Whenever I see him, he’s always re-ading. I just knew he was different.

As I turned to search for Kunmi, unfortunately I saw a very light pretty girl staring daggers at me. I didn’t look away, using the opportunity to study her. I have never seen her at the ss2 gathering. She should either my junior or sĀ£nior. Everything about her was small. Her eyes, nose, ears, mouth and in fact a small slim bĀ©dy. I saw another girl walked up to her but didn’t get to study her when I heard Temi, Debbie, Victoria and Kunmi voices from distance to come over.
ā€¢ā€¢ā€¢

āœ…āœ…
When it comes to studying, re-ading and practical, I would say Crown school teachers are really trying. We were informed in my clas-s that all science students in ss2 were to meet at the hall with the ss3 students to pas-s us some information. As I was going in with Kunmi, I excused myself to use the toilet, turning to the direction.

It was quiet as usual. The tiles were sparkling white as always. Neat, and very clean. I felt someone behind me. But as I turned around, I saw no one. As I got to the entrance of the ladies toilet, I pushed the door open, expecting it to stay opened, but the door was f0rƧĀ£dly pushed back by someone, ma-king it to hit my fore head very ha-rd that I let out a loud scream.

I gr@bbĀ£d my fore head, ru-bbing it very quic-kly as I moved away. Something like this has never happened. Someone inside definitely did that because the door was meant to stay opened. I heard the door cli-cked open from inside. Raising my head up in pain, I saw the same girl that was staring daggers at me on the day of the inter-house sport. I saw her eyeing me as a girl c@mĀ£ to join her. I guess it was the other lady I couldn’t study.
You don’t know how grateful I was that I didn’t study her that day.

Ugly thing!

That’s what I will call her. She just went and carry some shapeless yansh (big bu-ttocks) at her back. I was very sure that thing was giving her liver with guys.

Stupid yansh

Useless bu-ttocks shaking by f0rƧĀ£.

They were crying thinking they were ma-king fun of me. I knew I couldn’t report them since no one would beat them, but I promised she would live to tell mine forever. They were just lucky that Crown school teachers don’t beat, because any case reported to Mr. Bada, the agric teacher from my former school. He would first of all give you like ten stro-kes of tospe, telling you,

‘no, I want this side’,

‘Yes, yes, give me your bu-ttocks and stand straight my friend’.
He would have beaten you with his crazy style of tospe, before the actual stro-ke landed on your bu-ttocks. (Beating with cain) Your bu-ttocks would never remain the same if you receive just one of his actual stro-kes.

No one prays that his or her case is reported to Mr. Bada, or else, he or she is in big, hell of a trouble.
How I wish there was someone like Mr. Bada here. That big bu-ttocks of hers would receive divine healing and shape well by fire.

Stupid girls!

As I straightened myself to leave, I saw the other guy that has not been introduced to me. He must have seen my red face because I cried a bit. The pain was intense. That thing called door which hit me caused me a serious pain and I couldn’t re-move my hand from the exact place the door had hit me.
“Suzy, what’s wrong?” He walked to my side, concern evident in his eyes.

“If you meet two girls on your way, they did this to me. They almost killed me.” I knew I was exaggerating, showing him my fore head.

He smiled lightly. “As I can see, you’re perfectly fine except your swollen fore head.” He put his hand and ru-bbe-d it ha-rder than I did. My voice was everywhere as I screamed for him to just stĀ©p.

Which kind hand be that one.

That big hand of his worked like magic, because immediately he stĀ©pped, I was relieved from the pain a little bit.

“I think it’s better now,” he said, standing straight on its own.

“Yes, thanks.” I smiled in return. I didn’t know where the smile c@mĀ£ from, but his voice was doing the magic. Very cool and collected.

“Don’t work up yourself on Betty,” he said, mentioning one of the girls name.

Which of the two is Betty? I really wanted to know.

“She’s just like that over someone you’re closed to. And miracle, her follow, follow friend, is just one spoilt br@t that her bu-tt has gotten into her head. She thinks she can fool any guy with that.”
I couldn’t help but smile, he was so cool, talking to me like we’ve talked before.

“Thanks once again,” was what I managed to say.

“It’s nothing, but you’re welcome.” He sĀ£nt me another smile and I blu-shed. Talking to him was a nice thing to do. Have no idea he also pl@yjokes with his words because whenever I see him, he’s either re-ading his note or a novel. Always frowning. He was about to leave when I spoke up again.

“Sorry, I know you’re friend with Victor, but may I know your name? You know…” I really do not know how to form the sĀ£ntence to him. “Since you know my name, I don’t nee-d to introduce myself. But you, I don’t know yours,” I finally said.
Smiling lightly again. “It’s Festus Bankole, but I prefer it as Festus Bank.” We shook hands. “It’s my plea-sure finally talking to you. Bye for now.” He turned, and left.

I wondered how he bec@mĀ£ friends with someone as pla-yful as Victor and Yomi. He was totally different from them, but I see he has his way of putting his words. Good to know the light girl’s name was Betty, while Miracle is the girl with a big bu-ttocks. I’m not giving up on them. They would definitely pay for what they did to me. Because of what she did, If I got to know that person Festus said made her acted that way to me, I won’t hesitate to be more closer just to see her angry and boil like h0t water. That would be the best way to inflict my revenge back on her.

I guess may be Victoria.
