MOTHER WHY
EPISODE 41
Amelia didn’t have time to think much about Victor that night because she was busy gisting with her sister who just got back from Canada.
But the next after she called and called again and Victor still did not answer she got scared and went to his apartment to check him.
“what I’m I even doing, I’m sure Victor will be at work by now…. I’m just worrying myself over nothing”
she told herself and turn back to go home when treasure came out of the house, she wanted to dry some clothes on the line.
TREASURE
good afternoon Amelia
AMELIA
(She turn to look at her)
afternoon treasure, you didn’t go for clas-s today?
TREASURE
No, we are on two weeks break
AMELIA
oh that’s nice….. have a nice day then.
TREASURE
thanks…. I thought you came to check up on Victor?
AMELIA
(She turned to look at Vic’s door)
yeah, but I don’t think his at home….
TREASURE
his at home, if he went out today I would know it.
AMELIA
oh wow…. okay thanks.
she started to head back to Victor’s door, she couldn’t help but wonder how treasure would know when Victor is at home and when his not.
“what will Victor be doing at home on a Wednesday afternoon”?
she thought to herself before she knocked on his door.
Victor was still sleeping off the alcohol he took from last night, but the continued ban-ging on his door made him to get up.
He wasn’t please to see Amelia and he didn’t hide it, Amelia noticed how sad he looks but she couldn’t fathom what she has done wrong.
Immediately Victor opened the door for her he went back inside and sat on the floor where his bottle of whiskey is, he took the bottle, opened it and sipped from it.
AMELIA
What is going on babe? we were supposed to go out yesterday, I waited for your call which never came, and I called back but you weren’t answering my call.
VICTOR
Maybe because I was busy
(he hiccu-ps)
AMELIA
busy? busy doing what that you couldn’t have called me?
VICTOR
who are you Amelia, tell me I will like to know…..who the freaking hell are you?
Amelia was confuse, she didn’t know why Victor was behaving like that but she knew her relationship would soon end if she doesn’t start talking.
AMELIA
calm down baby, calm down and explain to me what is going on.
VICTOR
Where is my phone
He asked himself and got up to find it, he signed when he finally saw it, he played the video and handed it over to Amelia who immediately staggered to the couch after watching the content of the video.
VICTOR
do you mind explaining that to me? when was this shit recorded? before you met me or after we started dating
Amelia opened her mouth to say something but Victor stopped her.
VICTOR
you might want to think carefully before you answer that question….and don’t mess with me.
Amelia choked on her words, she didn’t know how to explain the video because she had no idea how it happened, then she remembered something… it was the same dress she wore the day Amara took her to a club, but it’s not possible her sister would hate her to the point of recording her and even sending it to victor…..what will her sister gain in doing that.
VICTOR
talk!!!
he screamed at her making her frightened… amelia slowly got up from the couch she had fallen into and try to move close to Victor.
VICTOR
don’t you dare…..
AMELIA
(She stopped in her track)
I swear I don’t know how come of that video, I know it’s ha-rd to believe because I’m truly the person in the video but I swear…. I can’t remember what happened that night.
VICTOR
was it after you met me or before?
AMELIA
I remember that day, my supposed finacê dish me and travelled outside the country, according to him I’m a witch who want to ruin him and take away everything he had laboured for.
she sniffed and used the back of her hand to wipe her running nose, she remember the pain she felt after reading Michael’s latter like it was yesterday.
AMELIA
I was so heart broken and devastated that my sister offered to take me out so I could cool off, I’m not really the party type but she convinced me so I followed her…and… the rest is just blur
VICTOR
what do you mean by the rest is just blur? you went to a club and all you remember is going I’m but not remembering what happened inside……are you that dumb?
(he yelled at her again)
Amelia couldn’t hold back her emotions anymore so she burst into a loud cry, Victor might not know it but she feel ashamed of herself going to a club and been suc-ked by a man she has never met in her entire life, the worse part of it was that the video was recorded in a way that the guy’s face isn’t visible but hers is…..she feels so sad and ashemed of who she had become.
She didn’t care if Victor believed her or not, all she wanted to do was find out what really happened that night from her sister….. she ran out of Victor’s house, she almost bumped into treasure who was coming out from where she dry clothes.
AMELIA
(She wipe her tears)
I’m so sorry
she said and ran off before treasure could ask her what was wrong.
Amelia ran into her room crying, Mrs chioma and Amara looked at themselves, surprised at her attitude but Amara de-ep down already knew the game was on….. according to what her mother told her on the phone about how much Victor loves Amelia, she knew that it would take more than one vidoe to convince Victor that Amelia isn’t good for him.
Amara got up and went inside to meet her sister, Mrs chioma wanted to come along too but her phone started to ring so she excused herself and went outside to receive the call.
AMara sat quietly beside her sister, she wanted to know exactly what happened so she can know the exact place to blow more fire.
AMARA
what happened sis? what did Victor do to you?
Amelia wanted to talk but she couldn’t, her tears were choking her, Amara felt disgusted by her cry but she had she had to pretend to be nice so she can get more information.
She pulled her sister closer and hu-gged her, Amelia really nee-ded that hu-g so she hu-gged Amara back.
After a while amelia pulled from the hu-g and held her sister’s both hands
AMELIA
amara please can you recall what happened that night at the club?
AMARA
I don’t un-derstand, I already told you everything I remember.
AMELIA
please you have to think ha-rder, my life depends on this…..please.
AMARA
what happened? talk to me, you are scaring me
AMELIA
(She wiped away the tears on her cheek)
Victor just showed a video of myself and a man.
AMARA
I don’t un-derstand, you and a man ?
AMELIA
(Shyly)
s**king me and I liked it….. oh my God how do I explain this to Victor?
AMARA
how is that even possible? or could it he the guy from the club? you remember there was this guy that was wooing you when I came back from where I went to get drinks? could he be the one?
AMELIA
I don’t know okay? God how did I get here, how did a one time God fearing human turn to this piece of garbage?
AMARA
oh come of it, like I told you before, se-x, fuc-king and doing all those kind of stuff doesn’t make one a sinner.
AMELIA
what I’m I suppose to do now? I love Victor so much, I can’t afford to lose him…..please you nee-d to help me.
AMARA
I have an idea, I want us to go back to the club, I would recognize him at one goal…. he will have to explain to us what really happened that night.
Amelia accepted without thinking twice, she trust her sister and believed Amara would never hurt her.

Amara waited till night fall before she took her sister back to the club, when they arrived at the club she asked her sister to sister down while she watch around but Amelia refused.
AMELIA
I can’t just sat around and wait amara , it’s me that’s in this shit not you…so wherever you go I will have to follow.
AMARA
Ouch that hurts, you just made it look like I’m the one who sent the guy after you or it was because I left you behind that day that bad stuff happened to you…..look Amelia, I’m not the enemy here okay? how possible is it for me to hurt my own blood this much?
She saw that she was getting throu-ghto Amelia with her words so she contiued and even added a few drops of tears.
AMARA
okay, I will just seat here and let you go do the investigation….. because it’s obvious you already see me as a suspect.
Before Amelia could say jack Amara walked out on her and went to the bar to seat down, Jordan recognized her at once.
JORDON
what are you doing here?
AMARA
I’m sure this is a club house, any body can come here.
JORDAN
Are you stalking me?
AMARA
(She giggle)
don’t flatter yourself little prince, I don’t deal with kids like you…. I’m here for something very important.
JORDAN
isn’t that the girl you came with the other day? look if this shit is for me to do what I did that day I’m sorry but I’m not interested.
Amara didn’t even thought of it, what she hide in mind was to look for that guy that day and offer him some money to act a little drama with Amelia so she can record, but why waste her own time when the person who started the deal could still finish it.
AMARA
even if I offer you two million naira?
jordan went silent, he felt bad about what he did the last time with the innocent girl, for days he couldn’t sleep until he went to church for confession.
AMARA
what’s taking you too long to answer me?
JORDAN
I can’t okay? my conscience almost killed me the last time…. I’m not…
amara turn and saw Amelia walking close to her, so she took the drink Jordan has poured for her and drank it to make it look like she was hurt with what amelia said.
AMARA
when you change your mind, you know where to find me, at the VIP section.
Amelia got close and took the empty seat beside her sister…..she was quiet for a while before she spoke.
AMELIA
I’m sorry about the way I reacted, I shouldn’t have made you feel that way….but you should un-derstand what I’m pas-sing throu-ghamara…. i love Vic so much that I’m scared of what might happen to me if he eventually leaves me.
AMARA
I’m not mad at you….i hope you have been able to get some information?
AMELIA
I don’t remember anything so I have no idea where to start from.
Jordan could hear that conversation even though he wasn’t sure about what they were talking about… because they didn’t mention the information they were hoping to get.
Jordan’s phone started ringing, he didn’t want to answer it but he kicked against it when he saw that it was the nurse taking care of his younger sister.
JORDAN
hello, I’m at work…. please can…..
NURSE
I’m sorry Jordan but your sister had an panicked attack today….. I think whatever you have to do, you nee-d to do it fast because if she won’t survive another attack.
JORDAN
oh my God…. please precious I beg you in the name of God, do whatever you can do till I get there… please.
NURSE
Alright….. and please Jordan, your sister would die if nothing is done and done fast.
All this time Amara was listening to what Jordan was saying, she knew it involves money and a desperate man would do anything.
AMARA
give us to shot of whiskey
AMELIA
I’m never going to drink again Amara, the one I had is what put me in this mess.
AMARA
And that’s my fault okay? if I had not gotten drunk and went for a se-x adventure I’m sure non of this would have happened….. I asked this dude and he told me the guy we are looking for is a regular customer here and his certain he will come here tonight…. so I don’t see why we can’t drink.
AMELIA
I still insist I’m not drinking.
AMARA
what of non alcoholic?
AMELIA
that would be better.
all this while Jordan was standing there but his spirit was at home with Jennifer his younger sister, he nee-ds money for her surgery and he doesn’t have it.
Amara noticed his lost in thought so she smashed a glas-s cu-p on the table bringing him back to his senses.
JORDAN
fuc-k, what the hell? why did you break….
AMARA
I’m gonna pay for it, don’t worry…. drink please.
JORDAN
what kind?
AMARA
give me whiskey and give her anything that’s not alcoholic.
JORDAN
I’m sorry, what we have here is just alcoho but she can go to the VIP section, we just opened mini bar there, she can get what she wants there.
AMARA
here is some cash, go get yourself some drink and calm your nerves…. we won’t leave this place untill we get our answer.
amelia hesitated before she collected the money and left, immediately Amara turn to face Jordan
AMARA
how much do you nee-d?
JORDAN
what do you…..
AMARA
(cuts in)
I know you nee-d money badly and I’m afriad you are desperate….so tell me, I’m willing to help you.
Jordan closed his eyes and opened them, he prayed silently for God to forgive him for what she’s about to make him do because of money.
JORDAN
six million naira is what I nee-d…..and I know it’s a big money so don’t act like you can….
AMARA
I will give you the money, if you are really to do exactly as I say.
JORDAN
(Shocked)
I said six million naira, not thousand
AMARA
I heard you…. what I want you to do for me is more important than that money.
JORDAN
oh my God, you want me to kill for you? I’m not doing….
AMARA
shut up you fool, who is asking you to kill?
JORDAN
if you don’t want me to kill, then what do you want me to do?
AMARA
(She smiled de-eply)
you will know soon…….just follow my lead okay?
JORDAN
I’m not doing anything unless I get my money
AMARA
you know what ? forget that I offered you a job…. ru-bbish.
She cursed and wanted to leave but Jordan quickly begged her, his sister’s life is on the line and he can’t afford to lose her.
JORDAN
I’m sorry, I will do whatever you say.
AMARA
don’t fuc-king mess with me boy…… I will wait for you in the ladies, make sure you don’t keep me waiting.
amelia soon joined them, immediately she came Amara whispered something into her ears.
AMARA
I would have taken the VIP section so you go there and cool off, but no I want you to seat here so you can easily get help if anyone is trying to mo-lest you.
AMELIA
And why are you going to?
AMARA
to do a quicky with fine dude
AMELIA
can we just focus on the reason why we are here?
AMARA
you know I work better when I’m relaxed….i will be back.
before Amelia could say jack she was already out of her sight, not long Jordan followed to and another person took over from him.
