**CHAPTER NINETEEN**

Snow dialled the emergency line with shaky hands and it c@m£ in no time, Pinky was rushed into the ambulance on a stretcher
The way she looks lifeless is really scary
Evelyn and Snow cried throu-ghout the journey to the hospital
Pinky was pushed into the EU (emergency unit) and the door closed despite Evelyn’s trials to go in
“Madam, just calm down your daughter will be fine , be positive” one of the interns said
Evelyn fell on a chair and continued crying
Snow did her best to console her though she’s crying too
Gabriel rushed into the ward
“Where’s Pinky!, Where’s my daughter!” He shouted
“She’s in the ward, fighting for her life” Snow said slowly
Gabriel paced round the ward in obvious panic
“This can’t be happening, Snow the last contract in the company, it wasn’t dragged with anyone right? ” He said
” No one drags with W investments” Snow replied, sniffing
“And I can’t remember having a fight with anyone too , then who could have done this to my daughter” he said, still not relenting in pacing around
It was Ace who rushed in next
“I saw the news, how did it happen?” He said
“I have no idea, not the slightest idea” Gabriel replied
” fv¢k whoever did this!, fv¢k it!” Ace ranted, scattering his hair, a good pretender
An hour later**
One of the doctors c@m£ out of the ward, Evelyn spranged up
“How’s my daughter?, Is she fine?, Nothing happened right?, plea-se tell me she’s ok” she rushed
“Mrs White, I think you should be grateful, luckily we narrowly pu-ll-ed her out of the death path, she narrowly escaped death, we successfully re-moved the bullet and she’s stable now, she’ll be fine” he replied
Evelyn t©uçhed her che-st and heaved heavily
” I’m glad, I’m too glad” she said
“Thanks doctor, can we go see her now? ” Snow asked
” No, not yet, disturbance is the last thing she nee-ds right now, that silence is important, so you can’t go see her yet” he replied
” Thanks doctor, we’ll be eternally grateful for this” Snow said
” Thanks buddy” Gabriel said
The doctor bowed before leaving
“I’ll stay here till she wakes up, Snow you should go home” Evelyn said
” No mum, I won’t be able to sleep, I’m staying too” she replied
Evelyn sighed before taking her sit
” Just calm down, you both” Ace said
Evelyn rolled eyes at him
” And who gave you the right to talk” she said
“Go out, now” Snow said, giving him disgusting looks
Ace left
” You just talked like that to your fiance?” Gabriel said
“Fiance you said?, Dad plea-se, this is not the right time for this at all, plea-se and plea-se” Snow said
Gabriel gave them one final look before taking his seat too…

Ace got to his car and hit his hand on his bonnet
“Damn you Liam!, That witch is still alive, Evelyn is still breathing! ” He ranted, breathing heavily in fury
His phone rang, it’s Liam
“So you’re just one useless killer” he said furiously
” Calm down bastard, it was a mistake, no one is above mistake, i sh0t when the coast was clear but only for that silly girl to suddenly jump on her mum” Liam replied
” You’re a mother fv¢ker!, fv¢k you!, Damn you! ” Ace said frustratedly
“s£nd the balance, then I can think of redoing the Operation” Liam replied
” No, I’m not interested in your sour game anymore, for now, bastard! ” Ace said and hanged up
” Maybe starting with Snow herself is the best” he thought…

Drake just got home with her mum from the boutique
Daniella went straight to the kitchen to make dinner
He sat in the living room and gr@bb£d his phone, dialling Pinky’s number
She’s not picking
“Why?, This has never happened” he thought
He dialled again and again but still same
His hands pla-yed with the TV remote as he redialled her number
He pressed the power on and it c@m£ on, the news popped up

He covered his mouth in shock as the video of how Pinky’s b©dy was rushed into an ambulance on a stretcher was shown
“No, oh My God!” He screamed
Daniella c@m£ out of the kitchen
“What?, Why the scary scream” she said
Drake ran out of the house before answering..
He sighted the hospital name on the ambulance earlier
He forgot that time that there are even buses
He ran all the way to the hospital, not tired throu-ghout the thirty minutes run
He entered the hospital and ran throu-gh the corridors
He sighted Snow sitting with Evelyn on a chair at the reception
He made to move closer but it’s like his foot is glued when he saw Gabriel sitting on the chair opposite them
He st©pped in his tracks, thinking of ways to just see her
“Is she fine?, She must be fine, if she’s not, Snow and madam Evelyn Won’t be sitting there like that” he thought silently
” But I nee-d to see her, I just nee-d to see her face and verify that she’s truly fine, what to do” he thought
He suddenly decided that no matter what it takes, he’ll face it
He made to go in but ….
Someone pu-ll-ed him from behind, taking him out of the place
They got to a washroom
“Hyung! (Big brother)” he said
“What are you doing here?” Richa-rd said
“I c@m£ to see if Pinky is fine” he replied, trying to go out again but Richa-rd held him
“Are you crazy?, You know how much Mr White hates strangers, and wait… Is it out of compas-sion as my girlfriend’s junior sister or is there something else attached? ‘ Richa-rd said suspiciously
“She’s my girlfriend” Drake replied slowly
“Girlfriend?, Who?, Pinky?” Richa-rd said
Drake nodded
“I’m done for, since when?” Richa-rd said
“Over a month now” he replied
” Drake you know how much battle I had to fight before my relationsh!pwith Snow was made known to mum, and she hasn’t even approved, Drake it’s dangerous, Mr White family is not something to toy with, plea-se Drake” Richa-rd said
” Unfortunately, when it comes to anyone I love, I stand on my words just like you, I can’t leave her if that’s what you’re trying to say, I love her so much” Drake replied
Richa-rd took off the cap he’s wearing and sighed
“And what did I see you doing the other time?, Trying to go in?, Who will you say you are?” Richa-rd said
Drake kept quiet
” Come on let’s go, I called Snow alre-ady and she told me Pinky is fine, her vitals are stable so don’t panic” Richa-rd said
Drake inhaled in relief
” I can rest a bit now” he said
“Sure lover boy, let’s go” Richa-rd said and pu-ll-ed him out of the hospital
They got out and Drake just kept walking, Richa-rd pu-ll-ed him back
“Get in the car” he said, gesturing at a red car… Actually a Benz
“What do you mean?” Drake said
“It’s my new car, get in” Richa-rd said
“Oh, it’s cool, shall I drive you? ” Drake said
” I’m not re-ady to die Young” Richa-rd replied
Drake smiled sadly, still thinking about Pinky as he got in the car…

Next day**
Evelyn and Snow with Gabriel were finally allowed into Pinky’s ward
She’s still lying on the be-d, unconscious
Snow held her cute hand and stro-ked her hair
“You must fight for your life just like you’re doing now, continue fighting baby sister, your a fighter and you can do it, I can’t lose you” Snow said, trying her best to keep her voice low
“My precious daughter, there’s no other way to show how much you love me, you took a bullet for me even if it’s unintentional, but I should be the one on that be-d now, or probably dead, but you saved me, plea-se be safe dear, I nee-d you a lot plea-se” Evelyn said, holding her other hand
Gabriel just stood, staring on expressionlessly
Riley, Bentley and Drake c@m£ in as clas-smates in uniform
“Pinky!” Riley shouted
“Shh, be quiet” Snow cautioned
Riley cautioned herself as she moved closer
” Who are you guys?” Gabriel asked
“Her clas-smates” Bentley replied
Gabriel kept mute
” My friend, be fine plea-se, I love you very much” Riley said, standing beside her be-d
Drake just watched from where he’s standing
“My girl, you just have to be ok for me, I can’t survive it if you leave me, just wake up alre-ady will you?, Wake up fast I want to see you smile again” he thought, crying
” St©p crying” Bentley consoled
He wiped the tears sadly
“Snow you nee-d to go to work” Gabriel said
“No I can’t leave Pinky” she replied
” We’ll stay with her” he replied
” But…
“Go to work Snow, I’ll stay, you can’t leave it vacant” Evelyn said
Snow reluctantly left the ward
Stepping out of the hospital, she saw Richa-rd coming out of a car
“Baby” she said as he rushed to her and hvgged her
“Are you ok?, Hope it’s not too ha-rd ?, Huh?” He said amidst the hvg
” It was ha-rd , I thought I was gonna lose her but thankfully she’s ok now, I missed you” she said
” Me too, plea-se don’t think too much about it, everything will be fine ok?” He said
” Thanks baby” she replied
They broke it and she looked at the car again
“You got it finally, it’s cool” she said
“Thanks” she replied
” You’re going to…
“Work, dad insisted I go” she replied
“Oh, so I guess we’ll see you tomorrow” he said
“No, when I’m done, I’ll call you” she said
” Ok, be fine, I’m off to school” he said and pe-cked her cheeks before leaving in his car
Snow drove off too
She went home and dressed up for work
She drove to work and her secretary told her someone is waiting in
“Who?”.
“The red head” she replied
“How can you let that bastard enter my office!, Oh my God!” She ranted, barging into her office
” Snow White” Ace said, standing immediately she entered
“Yes?, What bussiness do we have together” she said angrily
” You’re my fiancee for fv¢k sake!” Ace shouted
“fv¢k your life Ace!, I’m not your fiancee! ” She shouted back
Ace c@m£ closer and gr@bb£d her by the n£¢k
“Let me go” she struggled
He di-pped his hand into his pocket to bring out the n£¢klace but someone hit his head from behind
He let go of her and looked back
“Who are you?, And how dare you hit me with files” Ace said
It’s actually Sandra
Looking at him angrily
“Are you even a human?, Is that how to talk to someone?, Seriously gr-abbing their n£¢ks?, You deserve more than getting hit with files , you should be killed you fv¢king $h!t!” Sandra yelled angrily
” Watch out” Ace said before leaving angrily
Sandra rushed to Snow who kept coughing
“Sorry baby” she said
“Thanks Sandra, I’m grateful” she replied as she pu-ll-ed her into a hvg
“Pinky will be fine, everything else will be fine too, just chill baby’ Sandra consoled

Night**
Sandra ran out of tissues in her toilet and some other toiletries
“Oh I planned to rest tonight but if I don’t get them, then I won’t have the chance tomorrow” she thought, gr-abbing her purse
” Jake says he might still come too, I should be fast” she thought
Jake is her b©yfri£nd
She left the house to take the stroll down the sto-re in the street
She got there some minutes later and bought the nee-dful
She’s walking back home and browsing on her phone at the same time when she started feeling uncomfortable
She looked around her but no one can be found, the street is even quiet now cos it’s past eight alre-ady and the street is a new area
“Why am I feeling the chills” she thought
She added to her pace and started walking fast
She started hearing movements from behind her and got extra scared
She started running fearfully and instantly, gunsh0ts can be heard
If death comes as a result of panic, she’d have been dead by now
She threw away the things she got and even her phone
She kept running and the gunsh0ts kept sounding till a bullet hit her arm
“Aarrghggghh!” She screamed and st©pped for a while, she held her stinging bleeding arm and continued running and the gunsh0ts continued sounding
Another one might hit her very soon
She got lucky that a car c@m£ just in time
The driver opened the car and she got in…
“Jake” she muttered as the car moved
It’s her b©yfri£ndwho’s actually on his way to her house
“Just hold on dear, let’s get you to the nearest hospital” Jake said as he drove fast
Her arm kept bleeding and she’s loosing blood fast as she started feeling drowsy…
