✒Suzy POV

I’ve been trying to reach my sister, but it was either not available, or it rings without anyone picking up. I was told she travelled to get the things she sells as usual. And as a good sister she was, I just wanted to check on her, and get to know how she was doing.

I rode my car to the house of one of my s£nior doctors, who was celebr@ting his 50th birthday. He personally invited me, and I knew I nee-ded to create time to at least say hi, and honour his invitation. I drove into his compound immediately the gate was opened. I was expecting one big, and gigantic p@rty. But rather, it was organized in a simple, and small manner.
I stepped out of my car, and immediately locked it. I had packed everything I nee-ded for the night, because I was going to be on night shift, and going back home would be very stressful. I was in a red lace go-wn which was free enough to hide a bit of my swollen, made me very comfortable, and looked smart.

“Doctor Stephen!” I heard someone called, as I brou-ght out the celebr@nt’s gift from my car boot.

I turned around. “Nurse Akeem,” I greeted with a smile displa-ying on myl-ips.

“Afternoon ma. Hope junior is kicking so well?” She tea-sed. She was there a time when Victor tea-sed, and called me ‘Mummy Junior’.

I gave a light chuckle. “Yes ma, he is kicking really well.”
She laughed quietly as well. “That reminds me. The cake I bought from you last, everyone that ate out of the cake had been disturbing me on how they can get to you, and meet you in person. In fact, my sister wants to start a business with that cake. She wants to know if you make chin chin, meat pie, and sausage roll as well?”

“Really!” I couldn’t believe it. The cake was moving fast than I imagined. Victoria was just telling me to give it a br@nd name, and just recently, a company ordered for 100 pieces of my cake for their staff, and asked if I make meat pie, and sausage roll as well. I knew I have to give the woman the right answer. “I’m just about to start, since a lot of people have been demanding for it as well.”

“Very good,” she smiled. “I will just give her your number so you two can talk. But plea-se, don’t stress our Junior too much.”
I couldn’t help laughing. “Yes ma,” I said, while she immediately walked to her Jeep. She clocked forty a month ago, and I was the one who made her cake. She c@m£ back the next few days thanking me for ma-king her guests finished the cake without remaining for her. The next day, I had to tell one of the girls who worked for me to deliver a small cake to her as my little appreciation. She c@m£ back thanking me, and even brou-ght me customers.

I was glad I took up everyone’s advice to start a business, and not depend on my work alone. I never thought it would go that far, because at first, many got wasted, as I had to dash people, but soon, the same people began to patronize me. When I told Victor I went for a day conference on how to expand my business, he made jest of me. But now, everything I applied had caused expansion in my business. I could remember some of the things the woman said.

‘Have the mindset that when you start a business,
there must be an expansion.’

‘Learn so much about what you want to do, and
know that, starting small, is not an ill thing, but
expanding, is a big deal.’

I was excited about everything, and I knew I would have to go back to the woman who taught me how to make cake, to learn more of what people demanded for. I joined the celebr@nt, and the guests invited. We greeted one another, and had a little talk.

Mr Bas-sey, the celebr@nt personally introduced me to his two daughters who showed their appreciation for the extra cake I made with the one they requested. It was my gift to the man, but having his daughters to thank me again was not expected at all.
I finally took my seat. My legs were hurting even with the fact that I was on flat shoes. On a normal day, it would have been my heels doing the walk. But pregnancy changes a lot of things. And for some days, I’ve been looking somehow funny. That funny look when your face is all swollen, giving you a different look.
My food was brou-ght, and instantly, I bec@m£ very hungry as if I had not eaten before coming. The jollof rice was looking a bit much for me to consume, but I trust little junior. He doesn’t like wasting food. He would help mama. I was about raising my first spoon of rice when I heard this familiar name I was so familiar with back in Crown school.

“Suzy James!” He called again.

I looked around, and swung my head behind to track down who could have called me by that name. Many people around me would either call me, ‘Dr. Stephen’, or ‘Suzy’. Been a long time I heard that name in full.

“Good afternoon Mrs. Stephen.” The voice finally c@m£ closer, and the moment I saw who it was. I guessed someone must have helped me with my rice, because I was instantly on my feet. My eyes grew bigger, as I studied the hvge, tall and handsome man that stood before me. He raised and eye brow, and I couldn’t help the smile that graced myl-ips.

“Hi beautiful,” he smiled back.

I chuckled slowly. It seems like yesterday. Time had pas-sed, and a lot has changed. To say I never liked him was a lie. But I knew nothing was ever going to happen between us. That boy… That boy I talked to when Victor and I had our first fight back in Crown school. That boy had grown so big, and more handsome back in those days. His grin spre-ad wi-der. “Suzy, you’re starting to scare me,” he joked.

I laughed slowly. “Are you really Sola Daniels?”

He bowed. “Another dream, meeting with the ever reasonable, ever beautiful, ever talented, ever intelligent, ever glowing, ever-”
.
“Sola!” I st©pped him. “I’m a married woman for Christ sake!” I couldn’t help laughing, as I dangled my ring causing him to smile. I couldn’t believe he could remember some of the things he said back then, because I could recollect vividly, how he dramatized, and said a lot of funny things.
He smiled warmly. “I’m sure Mr. Victor knows that because a woman is married doesn’t make her totally off the market.”

What!

Did I hear that correctly?

I was a bit confused, so I just smiled, and let it slide away. “Well, Mr. Sola, remember I told you.. Beware of fair girls. Especially the one who is married, with wonderful kids.”
He laughed. “I can only remember being warned of fair girls. But the married ones? Mrs. Stephen, you just invented that one.”
That caused my laughter to increase. He cleared his throat to get my attention back. “Thank you for the other day ma’am. Since that day, I started wooing different kinds of girls, including the fair ones,” he smiled at me.
I gave a light chuckle. “I’m glad to hear that sir. So what do you do?”
His left hand went into his left pocket, as he stood firm. “A fitness instructor, fitness trainer, or personal trainer. Whatever you wanna call it?” He posed
Wow! I see why he looked so fit.
I gave him a cute smile. “That’s nice. I’m a-”

“Doctor of course,” he finished and we both laughed. He took his seat beside me while I finished my food, and had more talk with him. Immediately I was done, I knew I nee-ded to leave for work. “It’s really good to see you again Sola. I have to leave now for work. I’m on night shift.”
He nodded, and got up with me. “I’m honestly lucky to see you again Suzy.” He gave me his number, and I did too. We said our goodbyes, and immediately took my leave.

When I got back home the next day, immediately Victor and I were alone, I told him about Sola Daniels. When he heard, he didn’t hide his disdain, as his face contorted his hatred for the guy. We never discussed the guy, but Sola was popular enough for him to know. Besides, he was p@rt of their set.
Victor’s eyes were on me. “Sweetheart, don’t pick his calls. I don’t want you to have anything to do with the guy, and I mean it!” He said, and dropped my two legs he was helping to mas-sage, as he got up.
A smile displa-yed on myl-ips. I knew he was just jealous. “But that did not cause you to drop my legs. I’m not Sola now?”
Silence filled the room, while I stared at him as he pu-ll-ed off his T-shi-t, and before I knew what was going on, the rest on his clothes were deposited on my head, as he laughed and entered the bathroom.

“Thou shall not admire any other man than your husband!” He screamed from the bathroom, as I could hear the splashing of water. A smile graced myl-ips, as I f0rç£d myself up, and drop his clothes inside the basket meant for dirty clothes.
Immediately Victor stepped out of the shower, my phone rang. I checked the caller, and instantly, I didn’t know how it happened. Victor and I shared a quic-k look, before he looked away. It was Sola calling again for the fourth time that day.

✒✒Victor’s POV 📺

I c@m£ back very early from work because I knew Suzy was going to be around. On getting home, we took our dinner, and had a little talk at the table. Later, I helped her with the children, while she washed the dishes. Finally, we were alone in our room. Immediately, she stepped inside the bathroom to take a shower.
It was unusual of her taking much time inside the bathroom. So, I got to my feet, and walked towards the place to check her up. “Sweetheart,” I called, as I moved closer, and opened the door. “Are you okay?” I couldn’t help asking. She sat on the closet, with her two hands covering her face.
She raised her head, and stared at me tiredly. “I can’t lift the legs,” she said. “I’m trying to stay for a while before getting up.”
I entered the bathroom. “Should I as-sist?”
She shook her head instead. “I haven’t brushed yet,” she lamented. I looked for her brush, put a little paste on it, and handed it over to her. She smiled at me warmly, looking more beautiful. A blind guy could see the beauty of a true lady like her.
“Thank you sir,” she joked. I went out of the bathroom, and sat on the be-d with my phone, checking upd@t£s of what was going on around. After some minutes, she finally c@m£ out, water dripping from her b©dy, before she found her towel, and sat carefully on the be-d. She lifted her two swollen legs up, and I could not imagine the pain she was going throu-gh. I gr@bb£d her night go-wn, giving it to her while I increa-sed the fan because she was complaining of heat.
As soon as her towel was loosed, My hand found its way to her big tummy. The go-wn she was trying to put on, cu-mpped her brea-sts alone, giving me the chance to feel her n-ked tummy. “My future footballer,” I said, and I felt the kick. Suzy let out a painful scream, squee-zing her face together. She couldn’t help laughing in between, as I did too. Having the baby responded at that p@rticular time got us cracking a quic-k laugh together.

“I swear, this boy will end up like Messi,” I mentioned my favorite footballer. Suzy sl@pped my hand away. “So they told you he’s on the field or what?” She pointed to her stomach, ma-king my chuckle went high.

I ru-bbe-d her tummy once more. “plea-se let him start showing his talent. Let’s see how much he can kick,” I said jokenly, only to have Suzy gaped her mouth open, holding her scream. I couldn’t help laughing at her reaction.
She smiled warmly at me, immediately she calmed down.

“ru-bbish guy, carry your hand away.” She pushed my hand away, and I laughed. I could hear the rowdiness of my laughter as it increa-sed, and echoed round the walls of the room. I didn’t move away, as I found her n£¢k, and placed warm k!sses on it. She eyed me pla-yfully. “That is what you know sir.”
I laughed in between my k!sses. “Do normal, or junior will kick again,” I joked with her. She was finally relaxed, and laughed. I enjoyed her sweet laughter as I found my way to cu-p her brea-sts that has become fuller. At first, when she got pregnant with the twins, I wonder why the kick was so painful, and I told her she nee-ded to do check up.
But she explained to me, that has the baby grows larger towards the end of the pregnancy, baby becomes stronger, active, and has much less space to move around. Sometimes, she said the foot, or the arm of the baby may be pressed against the ribs or abd0m£n of the woman, causing her a bit of pain. Believe me, I respect these women, especially mine. Having a child growing in that tummy for nine months, our God is awesome.
I began to mas-sage her legs to relieve her of the pain. She relaxed on my shoulder, lightly tou-ching my che-st with her index f!nger, as she moved up and down. “Honey, did I tell you I met Sola today?”

“Sola?” I couldn’t recollect who she was talking about. “Which Sola is that?” I asked again.

“Sola now,” she was trying to help me remember whom she meant. “Sola Daniels!” She finally mentioned one of the names I hated in my life. I knew she could see the look I switched to. I couldn’t hide my disdain for that guy. Sola and I had crossed path four times, and despite the fact that he was married, he was carrying little girls up and down. I knew they were some of the girls he trained, since he was a fitness instructor, I could see his b©dy getting him the girls.
I knew Sola so well back in school. He was good at teasing, flir-ting, and having his way with girls. He was many girls’ crush back in school. I threw a look at Suzy so she could un-derstand I was against the two meeting. “Sweetheart, don’t pick up his calls. I don’t want you to have anything to do with him, and I mean it!” I knew my voice c@m£ out stronger when it got to the last statement.

Suzy’s eyes bulged, trying to study me. I knew she was excited seeing her old school mate, but I couldn’t trust Sola’s mission. I dropped her legs, and went out of the be-d. That was when I remembered I nee-ded to take my bath as well. Women and their first thoughts… ‘ Oh! My husband
is jealous.’ But I really do not care. If it is called jealousy, how can I be a complete man, and not be jealous?

“But that did not cause you to drop my legs. I’m not Sola now.” I could see a little smile formed on herl-ips. I just ignored her, and decided to look for her trouble by dumping my clothes on her head. I laughed, and ran inside the bathroom. On a normal day, if Suzy was without that heavy load, I trust my wife to have done her own back.

To say I was not worried, was a big lie. “Thou shall not admire any other man than your husband!” I shouted, as I had my shower.

fv¢k you Sola! Not my wife!

I was not in good control of myself. I just don’t trust that bastard. Women are so vulnerable sometimes, and you really can’t tell what might happen.

‘Do you know Sola has a crush on Suzy?’ Betty had told me. I guessed to make me jealous, but I was glad she did, because Sola was a real pla-yer, and I confronted him immediately.
‘You’re not even d@t!ngher Victor. So st©p acting
like she’s your bride. I like that girl too. Don’t think
we are too blind to see that beauty.’ He told me, and made it clear to me how he liked Suzy. Of course, I told him to stay away, and I was sure he would never try to cross my path. Even though he stayed away, I knew his eyes never left Suzy.
What a stupid secret admirer!

I knew seeing Suzy again, he was not blind not to see Suzy wasn’t ageing at all. Her smile can turn any guy on, and that b©dy of hers can a make a man’s b©dy on fire. But no, I would never allow any other guy. I want to be that only guy.
The moment I stepped out of the bathroom, her phone rang, and our eyes met. I never like jumping the gun, so I looked away. It might be someone else. But the phone kept on ringing, and rang twice repeatedly. Immediately, I knew it was the bastard calling.
