Suzy POV

School had resumed, but Emmanuel and Emmanuella haven’t resumed. I told sister Blessing to help me search around for a school that was not too expensive because I would love to change their school. Of course, Victor disagreed with the plan.
“Suzy, I never said I was broke.” He replied immediately I told him about my idea of changing the twins’ school.

“Then why are you selling the house? I don’t get it!” I sh0t back at him. I was very angry he kept quiet about the matter.
“Don’t talk to me that way!” His voice bec@m£ ha-rder, and I kept quiet. “I’m sorry,” I mumbled quietly.

“It’s okay.” He rested his back on the soft mattress. His face in a squee-zed manner. He was still angry.

“But honey, you aren’t saying anything. The reason I’m changing their school is because of everything that just happened. We have to be cautious of how we spend.”
“I’m always cautious of how I spend,” he said silently. “I just don’t want them changing school here and there. It might affect them,” he added.

I moved closer to him, and placed my hand on his che-st. “It won’t. So are you going to tell me how your business is going?” I ru-bbe-d his beard with my hand, knowing he likes it. He turned to me with a smile on hisl-ips. “Next time, don’t shout at your husband,” he warned.
I couldn’t help grinning. “Yes your majesty.” I tea-sed him. “So… How?” I was back to the real business.
He chuckled lightly. “I’m not selling the house anymore,” he said, and I couldn’t st©p staring at him. “Wait…” I was sitting on the be-d. “Were you joking about it before?”

He shook his head. “No. How would I joke with something like that.” He paused, hoping I would say something, but I kept quiet to let him say all he wanted to say. He coughed giving me a one sided look. “I actually nee-ded more money, because the business Yomi and I did cost us a lot. But last week, I got a call from one of Dad’s clients I worked with.” He paused, and looked at me expecting me to guess like always.
“Just say it,” I was eager to hear the news that made him pause and pl@yfor so long.
He laughed, ma-king jest of me. “You nee-d to see your face,” he turned to me. “Don’t worry I have a good news. He’s offering me a job in his company.”
I couldn’t contain my smile. “Really!”
He laughed, and nod his head in reply.
“I’m so happy to hear this.” I moved closer to him, and went back to my slee-ping position. “I really don’t want you to sell the house because of future purpose.”

He agreed with a nod. “Thank you for everything,” he leaned forward, and k!$$£d my forehead. “So, tell me when you find the new school so they can resume on time,” he added.

I threw him a thankful smile. I was glad he supported my decision. I knew he didn’t want them changing schools because truly, it sometimes affect the children. But I was grateful he accepted and un-derstood my reasons.
“One more thing,” I quic-kly said before he could get the chance to direct his attention else where. He turned to me, and raised his eye brow. “What’s that?”

“I want to start that cake business,” I told him at once. He stared at me and laughed. He st©pped, and laughed again. “Wait… Don’t tell me Victoria had succeeded in luring you to do this?” He said in between his laughter. “See, Victoria can sell anything, and do any business. I don’t know where she got the spirit from?” He didn’t st©p laughing, as he went on. “She just started a laundry business some days ago.”
I kept quiet. I was trying to figure out what was so funny for him to laugh that ha-rd as if we were watching BOVI (a comedian).
“Anyways, I’m saying yes with my mouth. I hope you will show appreciation to that mouth everyday,” he joked. I finally smiled. But instead of him to just st©p, he kept on laughing. “It’s a cake something,” he tea-sed again.
I st©pped watching him, and just covered my b©dy with the be-d cover and immediately closed my eyes. I heard him laugh for a while before st©pping. Guess he realized I didn’t have his time. I was too tired, and feeling sleepy for his jokes.
I felt him moved closer. I knew him too well to just go back without trying to place a k!sson myl-ips.

“Chai!” He jumped up when I bit his lower l!pthat was trying to pl@ysmart with myl-ips. I slowly opened my eyes which stared at him tiredly. He placed his hand un-der his woundedl-ips, as he stared back at me.

“So I can’t k!ssthe mouth I paid for again?” He sh0t me a look, and I just rolled my eyes at him. “Suzy, I could remember your mom saying, ‘take her, she’s all yours’. I can tell you to pack your things and leave now.”

I started laughing. It was so funny. I knew something was doing him. It wasn’t a natural case. I definitely did not bite him very well for him to still use that mouth to talk. I did my teeth like the vampires in one of his favourite movies, the vampire diaries.
He ran, and jumped out of the be-d. “Abeg don’t let junior start b!tt!g girls around,” he joked, and I couldn’t help laughing. But immediately I saw him coming back to be-d, my teeth was back to the vampire style again.
You?
You will not sleep on this be-d tonight

He laughed, and left the room alone for me. I couldn’t help grinning when he left. I would finally be able to enjoy my sleep. I thought being a mother and a father would change so much about us, but no, I was still my n@ûghty self, and he was just as crazy as he was back then.
My one and only crazy Victor.
I was glad that despite what was going on, he was neither cold nor distant from his family. He showed his usual love and support. He was around with his family as always, and there for our children.

I was glad he chose to be honest and informed me how things were going. The best thing for a couple is to never hide things from each other, and to always support of each other.

💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊

The next day, it was on Saturday morning, which started my one week live from work. Both Emmanuella and Emmanuel settled in their usual seats for breakfast. Victor was busy pressing his phone, while Emmanuel was drumming with his fork and spoon, waiting for the food to be served. Emmanuella on the other hand, was monitoring how I was serving, helping with little things.

“Mommy Daddy’s cu-p is not here. Let me go and take it,” she reminded me. I glanced around the table and realized I forgot that. “Thank you my baby. Be careful with it, so it won’t break.”
“Yes mommy,” she jumped out of her seat. I was glad I had a girl child. As little as she was, she had surprised me so many times. Especially when I’m tired, and couldn’t do anything. Like some days ago, she worked really well.

“Mommy let me help you with the be-d,” she ran into our room, and started dusting the be-d with her small hands before I could st©p her. I was so t©uçhed, and alarmed. I wanted to know who taught her all that, because I knew my baby too well. Is either she was sitting with the television, or pla-ying around. But since we c@m£ back from their Grandma, and Grandpa at Lekki, she had been helping.

I called her one day when I was in the kitchen. She was busy sweeping the floor which I had swept, but I just left her to do whatever she was planning to do with the broom. She dropped the broom when I called her.
“Emmanuella, what should Mommy buy for you? You’ve been helping mommy so much.”
She smiled. “Mommy don’t buy me anything. Grandma at Lekki promise me bobo, biscuits, sweet caprisonne, shoki shoki, gala, and teddy bear,” she listed.
I couldn’t laugh as much as I wanted to. I chuckled a little bit nodding. So Grandma was the one behind it. She had successfully captured Emmanuella’s heart with everything she just listed. I just hope she gets everything like she was promised.
“So is Grandma that told you to help Mommy?”
She gave a nod. “Yes mommy. She said I should help you because of our new baby. She said the baby will not allow you to work very well. Mommy shey I should cook dinner?”

Ehnn

Cook we-tin?

I looked around to be very sure it wasn’t my sister who walked in, because sometimes, two people’s voice sounds alike.
I finally bur-st into laughter

This one wants to cobalize me
She wants me to pack out so early.

For people to start blaming me that my two eye ba-lls were working perfectly like the full light of a car while I allowed a small girl to near fire. I quic-kly picked up the broom. “Go and wait for Mommy in the parlour”

“But mommy I want to cook.” She was starting to cry.

“I will not give you caprisonne…you will see,” I said, and immediately she st©pped crying.
“But mommy you know I want to cook o…” She wiped her face. “When will you give me?” Her voice was back to normal.
“Go and wait for Mommy first,” I said.
“But Mommy you know I want to cook with you o..”
I nodded with a smile displa-yed on myl-ips, as she slowly dragged her feet, and left the kitchen. I was f0rç£d to laugh alone. If I should pack those two with myself, we will make comedy skits, and sell. This one alone, was just p@rt one of ‘Suzy and her kids’.

I couldn’t help smiling at myself, as Emmanuella made her way back to the table with her Dad’s cu-p. I was alre-ady done serving, but I could see Emmanuel staring at his Dad. I guess may be because Victor wasn’t telling jokes like he used to.
“Daddy, are you sad?” At last, he poured out his question.
Victor finally raised his head from his phone. He didn’t know what to say at first, but something must have ran into his mind, because he stared at me, and made a gloomy face at Emmanuel. I wondered what he was up to, but I just looked away because I knew nothing was wrong with him. He coughed to get my attention before talking.

“Last night, Mommy refused to give your Daddy is special chocolate,” Victor said, and that caught my attention.

“Special chocolate?” Emmanuel asked, wondering which chocolate was so special to his Dad ap@rt from the one the two of them used to take behind my back.
Victor nodded. “Daddy has one specially for him alone,” he said again and looked at me. “Just tell Mommy to give me today, and Daddy will be happy.”
.A grin managed to escape myl-ips. Emmanuella heard her Dad, and joined her brother. “Mommy, give Daddy his special chocolate,” the two chorused, as if they were singing, giving Victor the plea-sure to sm-irk at me. He brou-ght out a gala each and give the two. They screamed, and was about to eat re-move the nylon.

“If you!” I st©pped them, and they stared at their Dad. “Drop it on the table. You will eat it after breakfast.” I quic-kly packed the two gala aside. After we said our prayer, I saw Emmanuel tapping his Dad.

“What?” Victor slowly moved to his side.

“Daddy don’t forget to give me that special chocolate when mommy gives you,” he said it like a whisper, but I heard him clearly, and I couldn’t help smiling. Victor chuckled to himself and replied him. “Only Daddy can take this chocolate,” he said to him grinning.
Emmanuel whispered to his Dad again. “So, until I become Daddy too?” He was curious, and Victor was getting tired of his questions alre-ady.

“May be before,” I heard Victor say, and I sl@pped his th!gh.

“Ouch!” He turned to me. “What was that for?”

“I should be the one asking you what is special chocolate? You know how funny this children can be. Emmanuel can get to school, and start asking his teachers the meaning of special chocolate.”

Victor laughed. “Ehnnn! And his aunty will explain special chocolate to him,” he sm-irked, resting his back on his chair. I threw him a look, and he just grinned. “Is that not their work? Besides it’s your fault?” He pointed to my mouth
“Whose fault?” I threw back at him.

He laughed. “Did I mention Suzy now? I said this one,” he pointed to myl-ips again, and I sl@pped his hand away.

“You’re not okay,” I rolled my eyes at him.

“Yee,” he whispered. “You said that to the head of the family?”
I just rolled my eyes again. “Table manner, table manner…”

“Daddy don’t talk when you’re eating.” Both Emmanuel and Emmanuella chorused.

“Okay, bring my Gala,” he joked with them, but the two thought he was serious.

“Ahh! Oya Daddy sorry,” they quic-kly apologized, and Victor sm-irked at me. His phone rang, and he immediately got up to pick it. He poked his ton-gue at me. “One, zero toh bad,” he said and left the table. I just grinned at my food as I continued eating.
I have told him several times that we nee-ded to watch what we say in the pres£nce of those children. Special chocolate or not, they know more than we want them to know.
