“Jacob!!!” Mason yelled with a terrified look but it was too late, Grandpa Mario already blocked the way and took the bullet for him.
“Grandpa!!” Mason yelled and ran over to where his grandpa was, even Jacob had to stop running when he heard the gunshot.
“Grandpa” also ran to meet the old man who was now in Mason’s arms.
The police already filled the place with their guns. They were pointing it at Blake and Dylan.
“You two are under arrest for kidnapping and also women trafficking. You have the right to remain silent for everything you say would be used against you in the cut of law” the leading officer said and Dylan was still gripping his gun tight.
Looking down at the bleeding old man, he wished he could just die on the spot so the Delgados’ can have something to grieve with.
He slowly dropped his gun and the police came to put both him and Blake on shackles then lead them to the police car. At the same time, an ambulance also stopped to take the old man.

When the police car stopped in front of the station, there were lots of reporters and paparazzi waiting and Blake was wondering how they got updated so fast.

Regina was also present, she was handcuffed and there were lots of flashes on her face which she was trying to cover.
The three were then escorted to the prison and it wasn’t up to an hour when many headline news broke.

Grandpa Mario has been shot and is currently in the hospital struggling for life.
Ivy Delgado kidnapping was planned by Regina, Blake and her father Dylan.
A lot of questions and fights were happening on the internet with everything that just happened and currently in the hospital the whole Delgados were present because the old man was in the emergency ward.
“I begged him, I said there was no need for him to get involved but he ignored me and Jacob you had to accompany a man in his eighties when you knew there would be a gunfight!!” Mason faced Jacob in anger.
“Don’t start by pinning the Blame on my son. He helped you a lot!” Rosa fired at Mason with an angry face.
“Guys, instead of arguing, can we just pray that grandpa should actually get better. Will you be happy if the doctor steps out and says he couldn’t save Grandpa!!” Skyler yelled and everyone kept quiet.
The babies were actually with some nurse because she couldn’t leave them. Ivy and Maya were also at the hospital, they also obtained injury while they were held captive with Blake and Dylan earlier.
After about an hour and thirty minutes, the doctor stepped out of the emergency room and the Delgados’ almost rushed him.
“How is Grandpa the doctor?” Hudson was the first to ask.
“Good for him, we stopped his bleeding and he didn’t lose too much blood. Due to the healthy lifestyle, your old man is fifty percent strong to undergo a surgery to remove the bullet from his back” the doctor replied.
“So when will the surgery begin?” Mason asked.
“As early as tomorrow afternoon” the doctor replied.
He waited for more questions and when no one asked anything, he continued.
“You can see him and tell him what you want to tell him tomorrow morning and also pray for him. We doctors will do everything we can to help him get better” after saying that, the doctor left.
Mason sighed and went to a quiet place to sit down. After all that happened, he didn’t get much time to sit and ponder about everything he just found.
That fact that he is not even Dylan’s son, grandpa isn’t his grandpa, Ivy isn’t his sister and his family isn’t his family had him so confused on what he was even actually living for.
If everything around him had been a lie then what if his life was a lie too. What if he wakes up one morning and suddenly finds out that Skyler isn’t his wife and he didn’t have kids. What if all that was a lie too?
A soft arm appeared on his shoulders, giving it a gentle squeeze and he slowly moved his head sideways to see Skyler staring at him with a soft look on his face.
“Your grandpa and everything will be fine. The most Important thing is we are free now and no one will bother us in the future” she said softly.
Mason didn’t reply, he kept staring at her face for God knows how long. Skyler smiled and brought her hands to caress his cheeks.
“Promise me beautiful” he finally said something and she looked at him, replying with a nod.
“Promise that if I open my eyes from my sleep one day. You wouldn’t be gone, I wouldn’t hear that you’re not Skyler, we never married and we never had kids” he muttered, staring intensely into her eyes.
Skyler smiled and leaned to kiss his forehead.
“Where do you want me to go if I can’t be with you or our kids? I’m not going to go anywhere” she gave him an assuring smile.
Mason pulled her closer to his arms and hugged her tight. The others who were actually sitting one side only stared at them.
“Skyler is such a supporting wife, I can’t wait to get married but I haven’t found a woman that would look at me the way Skyler looks at Mason” Hudson muttered.
“Well, you will have to look at a woman that way first” Edna said and everyone managed to laugh except for Jacob who just rolled his eyes.

NEXT DAY★
Everyone actually visited the old man till it was Mason and Skyler.
“Can I carry my great grandkids even if it might be that last time I will be touching them?” the old man said with his horse voice.
“Grandpa don’t talk like this” Skyler had teary eyes. Looking at the old man, she could see the clear sign of again on his face, by now, two years should have passed since she last arrived at the Delgados’ family.
There were signs of aging on the old man’s face. The old man had been nothing but great to them and she only wished that old people don’t really have to die at all but it was impossible.
She stepped out and came back with Maxwell and Skyler. Grandpa Mario smiled, they were going to move to a year soon, he couldn’t even carry the both of them with his two hands anymore.
“Great grandpa loves the both of you, promise that you won’t cause problems to mummy and daddy in the future alright?” The old man said with a smile.
“Tes,” Scarlett replied. If there was one thing she knew, if anyone tells her alright then she responds with Tes instead of yes but knowing that meaning for now.
The old man smiled at her cute response.
“Yeat yaya” Maxwell muttered.
“What did my little champ say?” Grandpa Mario asked with a smile.
“Yeat yaya” Maxwell repeated with a smile when he noticed everyone was paying attention to him.
He finally learnt to call someone other than his mother and his father.
“Thank you Maxwell, this means a lot” Grandpa Mario smiled at him.
Soon Skyler left with the kids since the old man wanted to have an alone word with Mason.
“Incase I don’t make it out alive, the wall behind my bed. There’s a secret safe and your grandma’s name, Juliana, is the password. There’s a letter I should have given to you before you traveled to Paris but I thought there was no need since it seemed to be going well. After reading, I hope you can forgive me for not telling you earlier” the old man said softly.
Mason shook his head. “I can’t get angry at you grandpa, you made me who I am today even though.. Even though I’m not really your grandson and I will be out there, waiting for you to walk out of this place as a fighter, the one you’ve always taught me to be ” Mason replied with a gentle smile.
For the first time, he was showing off a sincere smile without Skyler having to force him too.
The old man brought his dried wrinkled arms to Mason’s face. “You will always be a Delgado no matter what” he said softly.

HOURS LATER ★
Carson arrived at the hospital. He took his flight from Texas to California when he saw the news about everything that happened and the old man getting a surgery.
“Has the surgery begun?” He asked and looked around.
“He passed a message to you” Emily walked over to him.
“He said he doesn’t care what others think and as long as you were raised here. You are a real Delgado, he said he loves you” Emily smiled at him.
Ivy and Maya were still receiving treatments so they couldn’t say anything to him but grandpa dropped some words for them in case he didn’t make it out alive.
Few more minutes and the doctor stepped out of the theater. He took off his nose mask, showing off some disappointed look on his face and the members waiting already knew the meaning of that look.
Grandpa Mario didn’t make it.
