2 days later, Francis was still in the hospital and Bridget alre-ady left for her teaching job. She wanted asking for permission from the admistrator but it was too sudden to be granted, all she did was call Maria or the guys to ask about Francis.
The guys just returned from their jobs to the hospital to say hello to Francis but they met him resting,
“Did he complain of pains today? Fred asked Maria and she nodded.
“Not severe though, he was able to manage, she replied.
“Okay that’s progress. But aren’t you going to see your mom? Common, Fred said and she angrily looked at him.
“Fred I respect you so much, plea-se don’t get me upset now, Maria said.
“plea-se let her be, its not by f0rç£ sef, Victor said and yawned.
“Babe you still look sad, what’s wrong? Did the doctor discovered anything wrong with Francis? Mark asked and she shook her head.
“I’m thinking about Joe. No one has heard from him and its getting me worried. Whether his an imbecile or not, he is still my brother, She replied and the guys sighed.
“I made few calls and they haven’t seen him yet even the police has not given us any positive news, what are we going to do? Victor asked and Maria cleaned her face and breathed out.
“With all this problem around me Fred, you are still thinking about the dead witch? Will seeing her less this burden from me? Maria asked..
“I’m sorry okay, its just that ever since she was put in the morgue on Saturday no one has gone there to check on her ap@rt from that her friend, Fred said.
“Like I Care, she’s checking on her fellow witch, who knows if she’s among, Maria said.
“Don’t talk like that na, she may just be friends with her without knowing who Nkiru really is, she’s a good person, Mark said.
“My mother was also a good person, I boasted a lot about her so spare me, Maria said and Victor quic-kly remembered Nkiru words to him before she died and his mood suddenly changed,
“Is my mother also a witch? Victor unconsciously asked and they looked at him.

“Nkiru said something to me na remember. She said I should better believe in witches because my mom is not different, Victor replied and Fred scoffed.

“No problem, welcome guys, she said and Seth was seen coming.
“Oh you have a better company, Fred said and win-ked at her while she smiled and They shook hands with him when he approached,

“No we dey come back, make we go change up, Mark replied.
“Okay na no problem, see ya then, Seth said to them and gave Maria a hvg and gave her a nylon.

“Its nothing, I’ll be back okay but make sure you remain calm for me. How’s Francis? He asked.
“He’s slee-ping, go take your rest I can manage here, she replied.
“And ermm about Joe, I’ve heard nothing yet from the search p@rties I s£nt. But don’t worry we will find him okay, Seth said and she sadly nodded.
“Thanks again, she said and he gave her a pe-ck.
“I’ll be back, he said and left and she slowly went in to sit with Francis…..
A little sleep pas-sed throu-gh Maria eyes and she saw herself on an open field. She turned confusedly wondering why she’s the only one there and she saw Nkiru sadly looking at her,
“What the hell! How dare you show your face to me! Maria shouted on her.
“plea-se Maria hear me out I don’t have much time here, Nkiru said.
“Who cares and what do Yuh want to tell me? Oh you couldn’t confess publicly right? Maria asked.
“plea-se I know its….its okay for you to be angry but I’m begging you let me say something now I have the chance. I used every power in me to get myself here, plea-se I’m sorry for all the wrong I’ve caused you and your brothers, I’m sorry, Nkiru cried.
“You’re shameless and have no heart to be sorry and…… “I know! You don’t have to tell me but listen to me, Nkiru cuts in.
“What? You want to confess huh? Common go ahead, Maria said and Nkiru shakily looked back as if someone was coming.
“Yes… Yes its true I’m a witch. I’m very sorry and I regret all my actions… I don’t even know where to start, Nkiru said while Maria folded her arms looking at her.
“Let me help you, what did Seth do to you that made you do chase him at night? Maria asked.
“Okay, okay I didn’t want you to get married and I gave you a good job so that when I get old and retire you will take care of me without any husband giving you directives on how to use your money. “And yes About Francis, I seized his certificates causing him to be always rejected anywhere he takes it to. I did that because I loved Francis so much and I was spiritually married to him. I thought if he had a job ladies will flock around him and I was so jealous, Nkiru continued and Maria felt like throwing up.
“Yes i have slee-ping with him when I celebr@ted his 16 years birthday till d@t£. That made him not to feel attra-cted to any lady or even felt like having S-x not until Bridget c@m£ into his life. And ermm i did the same to Joe, but Joe wasn’t strong like Francis. “After Francis accident, I knew I was done for because I re-leased my anger on him and he coughed out blood which him run away. He saw the true me and also the pastor knew who I was. I then accepted my master offer to take my life on earth but I will still be very active and more deadly spiritually where I’ll unleash all my attacks to my enemies. But it got ruined when you all took me to the morgue, She replied.
“Oh really, we should have buried you immediately or what? Maria asked.

“plea-se find a place in your heart to forgive me, tell Joe and Francis that I…….. Nkiru st©pped and screamed again.
“Maria turn your back and leave now, run! Nkiru shouted on her and Maria quic-kly turned her back to run but woke up to see a nurse shaking her,
“you had a bad dream? The nurse asked as Maria shook to see it was a dream.
“Yea, she slowly replied.
“Okay, I just finished giving your brother his drugs, the nurse said.
“Oh thank you, Maria said and the nurse left. She covered her palm on her face as she recalled everything Nkiru said to her and she couldn’t take away the sight she saw Nkiru in, then she knew wherever she is right now, she must be suffering.
“What did you do to yourself? How did you become this? She whispered and cleaned her tears as she sadly looked at the slee-ping Francis,
“Mama said she’s sorry, she slowly said to him and left the room to sit outside………
The guys returned as they promised and Met Francis awake which they kept him company but Maria sneaked Victor outside,
“Which mortuary is my mom in? She asked.
“Seriously? Victor asked surprised with the question knowing Maria vowed never to visit her there.
“Can you take me there now? Don’t tell the guys, she replied.
“Now you’re ma-king me scared, Victor said.
“I’ll explain everything to you later, she said and opened the door telling the guys they will be back soon and they hurried off to the mortuary.
Meeting the workers there for the permission to see Nkiru, they were told Nkiru was not to be shown to anyb©dy.
“Excuse me, I’m her daughter and I don’t have the right to see my mother? By the way who gave such an order? Maria asked.
“The woman you c@m£ with, she said its for safety purpose, the worker replied.
“Bull$h!t! You are going to let me see my mother else this place won’t go good. How can a total stranger come tell you what to do with my mom corpse, who does that? And as for that woman when I’m done here I’ll give her a clean warning to stay clear from my business! Maria shouted.
“Okay okay calm down miss, I was only following orders, let’s go, the worker said and they followed him behind and Maria was so shocked to see Nkiru alone so iced up that she feared her b©dy might scatter.
“Is the ice not too much for Christ sake? And why is she alone here? Maria asked.
“Her friend asked for the special treatment, she wants her to be kept fresh……. “Stocked with so much ice? Maria cuts in and quic-kly remembered Nkiru words,
“Every cold tou-ching my b©dy, there is a coal of fire on me piercing me de-ep”.
“You are going to take her off this ice and give her b©dy a break, that’s an order or else I’ll get her transferred from here. And again, If that woman comes here and you let her see my mother, you will answer me, Maria sternly warned the worker while he looked at her.
“What are you waiting for? Take her off the ice! Maria shouted on him………..
