EPISODE 74
“Don’t worry grandpa, mommy will remember everything sooner…she will definitely remember you.”
The man smiled at her. This kid is trying to encourage him not to lose heart and not to give up on her daughter. Ah, what a relief and a shame as well. Shouldn’t he be the one trying to lift their hearts?
After a few more minutes, the three fell on the couch feeling tired as they catch their breaths but still laughing at each other.
“That’s a hellish way of greeting that I had ever receive from two strangers, know that?” the woman emphasized.
“Well, we used to do that when we were kids and you always end up beating our arses.” Caleb uttered then chuckled after.
“I remember that first day dude!” Hunter replied and continued laughing at the thought of it.
“Done catching up?” they heard Rio spoke while walking towards the sofa opposite the three. And Miracle was seemingly enjoying being carried by the man.
“Uncle!” the two gentlemen exclaimed in unison while the woman gave out a force smile. She is not yet used to calling the man dad. Though Rio understand, of course.
“Sorry for coming unannounced.” Rio expressed.
“Ah, it’s okay…” she couldn’t call him dad. “I’ll just get some drinks… what do you want?” he asked the three.
“Anything will do.” Rio replied while Caleb and Hunter nodded in agreement.
After a few more minutes, the woman came holding a tray of pineapple juice and a few sandwiches.
“Ethan should be here any moment from now.” The woman said after placing the tray on the table.
“Nah, we’re not here for Ethan… we came to see you.” Caleb teasingly replied as he inch closer to the woman. “Aisha, we came to see you.” He grinned.
However, the woman only raised her brow and looked at him contemptously.
“Yah! Why are you looking at me like that, huh? Didn’t you know how much you fell in love with me before? You even beat and threatened those women lu-rking around me before!” Caleb scoffed. “You even pleaded your father to convince my dad to take me as your husband!”
Hunter, who was drinking that time suddenly coughed and spilled some of the drink in his shirt.
“Really Caleb?” he scoffed while wiping some in his . Damn this shameless guy!
“Oh really…” the woman’s li-p twitched mockingly. ” Even if I couldn’t remember anything, but I think I will never fall in love with you.” She emphasized. “Modesty aside but you are not just my type and I’m sure of that.”
Then Hunter’s taunting laugh echoed in the room.
“that was so harsh, Caleb!” he was breaking. “I bet if Sophie is here then she’ll have the worst say on this.” He continued but Caleb growled on him rolling his eyes.
“That’s Aisha for you.”
They all heard a familiar voiced behind them. Ethan!
“Ah, You haven’t change a bit Caleb, do you?” the man chuckled.
“Ethan.” Caleb and Hunter stood up to greet the man.
“It’s been a long time! Good to see you both.” Ethan spoke. “Rio,” he went to greet the man after. “do you want to be in my study room instead?” he offered since he knew that they have something to tell him.
“Its okay, we can discuss everything in here. However…” he paused and stared at Miracle. Ethan read what he meant therefore he called Ysabelle to accompany Mira first.
“what is it?” Ethan inquired after the two left.
“Zoren. He sent a message.” Rio replied and took his phone out, open the message and handed it to Ethan. As soon as he read it, he held his breath unbelievingly.
“Is this for real?” he probed.
“Maybe…” Caleb uttered. The woman couldn’t follow what they were discussing about so she asked to read what was on the message. Ethan gave the phone to her.
She immediately wide-ned her eyes in disbelief. Will she ever believe that man? Is it okay to lower their guard down, then?

He laid the little girl on her bed.
It was Rio who took Miracle to her room when she slept in his arms. After their conversation about Zoren’s retreat , Miracle went to join them and played with the two gentlemen. After then, she went to Rio and sat on his lap . Then after a few more minutes she dozed off.
As for Ethan, Hunter and Caleb, they stayed in the living room as they continue catching up. The last time they saw each other was during Aisha’s death anniversary but they didn’t talk much since everyone seems to be busy.
Rio fixed the kid’s blanket then stood up. He gaze at the kid once again and was about to leave the room but the woman called his attention.
“R-Rio…” She faintly uttered.
The man halted and face the woman after.
“Yes?” He smiled.
“I….” She lowered her head. “I’m sorry…”
The man creased his brow. “Why are you saying sorry all of a sudden?”
“T-that….” She inhaled an amount of air. “I’m sorry if I couldn’t call you father for now. I-its just too much of a revelation and I am still trying to adjust myself about all the information regarding my past.”
The man went silent for a few minutes. Then he stared at the woman who was biting her lower li-p in guilt.
“Aisha…” The man voiced. “I totally understand and I am willing to wait.”
“T-thank you… ” she forced a smile. Though she was able to see the sudden sadness which the man tried to conceal…. And a part of her heart sting a bit.
“But I hope it won’t bother you whenever you see me here. I really want to get to know more about my granddaughter.”
“Of course, It’s totally fine with me.” The woman smiled.
“And is it okay to call you with your real name?”
“If that’s why you want then it’s fine with me.”
“Thank you.” Rio beamed. It’s very evident in his face how he misses this woman in front of him.
“C-can I hug you?” Rio embarra-ssingly asked.
The woman jerked a little but she inch closer to embrace the man. “Of course.” She voiced.
He hu-gged her back lovingly. Oh how he missed his daughter. Still, he couldn’t believe that she’s alive more than how he didn’t believe that she was dead three years ago. He teared up..
Then all their memories together resurfaced starting from Aisha’s childhood. And who would have ever thought that she is his flesh and blood? Ah! How he missed her so much!
“I missed you so much!” He muttered in between his sob. “And I’m sure your mum does too. I bet she’ll keel over once she hears about you.”
“How does mom look like?” Aisha inquired when she broke away from his arms.
“She looks like you.” He smiled. Your mom… Just like you, is very pretty.”
“Uhm… C-can you also tell me more about my childhood?” She shy away for a minute. “I’m not sure if I will ever get my memories back since the doctor said before that I won’t be able to remember my past any more.”
“I love to.” The man instantly replied. “And whether you remember us or not, the most important thing right now is you and your daughter is safe now.”
“And we will always be here for you. Always be…” The man added.
“Thank you.” The woman cheered.
After a few more conversation, they went back to where the gentlemen are. They were having a light drink.
“Please join us here.” Ethan invited Aisha and Rio.
“Unfortunately, I can’t join you for now cause I’ll be meeting someone today.” Rio informed them.
“Shall we go with you?” Hunter was about to stand up when Rio stopped him.
“No it’s okay. You can stay here however long you want.”
“Oh okay.” Hunter immediately sat down.
“Ah…and by the way, Ethan… You’re going to attend the annual mascarade party right?” Rio stared at Ethan who looked at Aisha.
“Uhm… Not sure though… I can’t possibly leave th—-”
“Why don’t you bring her too. She can be your perfect date for the night.” Rio suggested.
Ethan suddenly looked at the woman who met his.
“I won’t mind.” she smiled.
“Are you sure?” Ethan probed then the woman nodded.
“Okay, since you said so.” Ethan smiled.
Meanwhile, Hunter, Caleb and Rio glanced at each other and grinned. That will definitely be the perfect time to meet everyone!
After settling the matter for the annual mascarade party, Rio bid goodbye.
“Since you want to attend the party, then we should go out later to buy you an outfit.” Ethan suggested.
“Ehm, that will do.” The woman smiled cheerfully.
Hunter and Caleb surprisingly stared at each other. They were a bit stunned to hear an obedient Aisha. Is it really her? Ethan most have sense their hesitations therefore he chuckled.
“I know what you’re thinking guys but don’t even speak what’s on your mind. Isn’t it fun to see her this way?” he voiced.
“Guess it is.” Caleb chuckled as well as Hunter.
That moment, Aisha creased her brow. She doesn’t even understand what they were talking about. Are they possibly mocking her? She scowled.
“Are you laughing at me?” she glared at them.
“Hey hun, relax… We’re not making fun of you, I swear.” He grinned mischievously.
The woman was less convinced. These three facial reactions, they were surely making fun of her. She snorted after.
Ethan was about to say something when he felt his phone vibrated from his pocket. Then he reached his pocket and took his phone out. Then glanced at the caller I.d. It’s an unregistered number.
“Who is this?” he excused himself and distance a little bit from the three.
“Is this Mr. Williams? Ethan Williams?” a young lady asked from the other line.
“Yes. Who is this?”
“Someone wants to talk to you. Just a minute…” Ethan heard the lady hand the phone to someone.
“Mr. Williams? This is Mr. Kersey.. Can I talk to you?”
“oh, Mr Kersey, yes of course… what can I do for you?” Ethan glanced at the woman’s direction who seems to be happy talking to the two gentlemen.
There was silence on the other line for few seconds…
“Mr Kersey, is everything okay?” Ethan confirmed.
” Ehm… T-there’s something you need to know…about the woman…” the man could hear the hesitation and a bit of nervousness on his tone.
“What do you mean? Is there anything more to your story?” he got curious.
“I’m sorry Mr Williams but you really need to know something. But I prefer discussing it to you personally.”
“Oh, okay… when can I see you then?”
“Anytime, as long as you’re free… but you must hurry.” The old man added.
“I understand. I’ll be coming tomorrow Mr Kersey.” He promised.
“Okay. Thank you.” Then the call got disconnected.
Ethan went in daze for a moment. Looks like the Kerseys have something important to tell him. It seems urgent. What could it be? An information about the woman? Then he once again glanced to where the woman was.
“Ethan, is everything alright?” Aisha called him out.
“Ehm… he forced a smile as he walks back to them.

He grinned after the call but the two old couples were shuddering in fear.
“D-doctor, why are you doing this?! This is not you.” Mrs Kersey uttered.
“It was her fault. She had never appreciated my kindness and instead of choosing the one who saved her, he chose that bastard!”
“You can’t force love doctor, you should know that.”
“but it’s a choice! Love can also be a choice.”
“Doctor, that’s not the right way to obtain her heart.”
“If she can’t be mine then no one will ever have her!” the man laughed frantically. “and you? You better pray that Ethan will come to see you, or else, you’ll die on behalf of him.”
“Doctor!” Mr Kersey exclaimed. Pleading this insane man won’t do them any good. Their only chance is to convince the man… however, it looks like nothing could ever change his mind. How could they send a message to Ethan? Or to that woman? Dang! Their loves are on the line now!
