ru-by looked at the mirror as she brushed her teeth. She hummed loudly whilen doing so.
Suddenly, A knock was loudly heard which made ru-by jump up to her feet.
“Who could it be?” ru-by thought as she ran to the door. She curiously opened the door only to see Ashley.
“Do you want to come in?” ru-by asked after a pause between them.
“No Please, Don’t bother…. I actually came to give you this” Ashley replied swiftly as she gave her a letter.
“What’s that?” ru-by asked surprisedly as she collected the letter.
“It’s from Ryan–
“Is he here?” ru-by interrupted as she quickly came out from the door. She stretched her ne-ck left and right.
“He isn’t here” Ashely chuckled
“Oh.. I see, But when did he give you this?”
“The day he went back to the airport after meeting you, I met him when he was hurrying to the airport,, I was outside in the school field then–

“Ashley! Let’s talk please!” Ryan shouted as he ran. His yelling shocked Ashley.
Ashely turned and ran to him.
“What’s up?” Ashley asked softly.
“I’m in quite a hurry so pardon me for making this short, Ashely…. I’m sorry….You know, For those harsh words…. I’m talking about the letter that Martha wrote?”
“Oh…. I remember, But it isn’t your fault,, I made you think I was the bad person, Anyways…. I’m glad we have settled our differences”
“I’m glad too! So, Friends?” He asked stretching his hand towards her for a handshake.
“Friends!” She replied taking his hands instantly. They both looked at each other and smiled.
“Oh… Please, Can you give this to ru-by?–
“ru-by? Did you just call her ru-by? Goodness! 😂,, Is it because you guys are now dating? Your relationship is a hot topic in the school website,, Everyone is talking about it!” Ashley said laughing.
“She isn’t my teacher anymore…. She is my girlfriend!” Ryan said as he gave her a paper with a letter in it. She took it immediately and smiled.
“Anyways… I wish you the best,, Come back fast and get married to her!” Ashley said
“She doesn’t want to get married though” Ryan whispered.
“What did you say? I didn’t hear that”
“Oh no…. Don’t mind me, Just make sure you give her this–….and oh,, before I leave, I want to let you know something,, When will you finally give Marco an answer? He really likes you? I hope you give him your heart though… I wish you the best” Ryan giggled as he waved to her. Ashely laughed and waved back.
Marco came later on as he watched Ryan hurriedly running.
“What did you guys talk about?” Marco asked as he adjusted his gl@$$es.
“Seriously! This dude! Just mind your business!” Ashley replied with a laugh.
She quickly kept the letter and began to leave. Marco also followed and they could be seen laughing and gisting with their hearts filled with joy.

ru-by went to her room and quickly opened the letter. She began to read;
Now that you’re reading this, I guess,
I might still be in the plane or probably
If you received this letter late. However,
this letter isn’t really going to talk about us.
First of all, I’ve already apologized to
Ashely for my harsh words towards her
and thinking she was the evil villain then.
Now, it’s your turn. It’s left for you to
forgive those that have wronged you,
Whether in the past or prese-nt.

Phili-p and Mike too? Let go of everything
like I did, Even if it’s going to be ha-rd.

spirits forgive you also. I’m kind of rushing
right now, So I can’t write much.

ru-by couldn’t hold herself anymore, She cried. She was glad she found someone like Ryan, Despite being 19!
“His birthday is coming soon though, Too bad we won’t celebr@te it” ru-by said with a sigh.
She looked at the letter and a smile was expressed on her face.

ru-by walked on the hall way of the hospital. She had full make up on. Her li-ps were pure red, Her gown was also the expensive type. She wore earrings with a ne-cklace to match. She also wore red heels. Her bag was leather black. She sighed dee-ply as she moved her lashes up down. She pushed the door open and went in. She slowly walked to the be-d as the person on it weakly stretched to look at her.
“Ru–ru-by?” The patient weak dry voice muttered.
ru-by didn’t say a word. She sat down on the chair close to the be-d. She looked at Mrs Whyte who was now dry skinned. Her shape was bad, The cancer had really eaten her up.
“How have you been?” ru-by whispered as she adjusted the be-d sheets properly.
Mrs Whyte began to cry. “I thought you wouldn’t see me any more”
“I didn’t want to come but someone special reasoned it with me, I guess he’s right”
“Have you finally gotten someone? That’s good to hear, I’m happy for you…. I’m quite ashamed of myself, I placed you in a ti-ght corner in the past and used your unborn child against you,, I feel bad and guilty, I’m sorry”
“……When my Manager asked me for your number then, I was scared…. I was scared that you would’nt let my baby live comfortably when you finally help me,, I prayed for my baby’s life…. I couldn’t lose my baby, U was confused…. I tried to be strong without your help, I thought “Maybe if I’m strong, My baby will live? I have to be strong…. What if I call my mum…. The woman I thought was my mum–ru-by paused and busted into loud tears.
“What if she comes😭…. What….if…. I suddenly can’t find….. My baby😭? What if… She kills my baby😭?,,What if she for-ces my child into an orphanage😭? Are you sure,, My child we wouldn’t suffer if she comes? ….What if? What if? What if? I kept on questioning myself What if? Those were the negative thoughts in my head then! I was confused! I wished I could ask my baby what he wanted? If only that could happen?
When the baby died, I was hurt…. I cried out my heart, Then… You came and called me a murderer,, But I knew everything happened for a cause,, It’s fate!”
“I’m sorry… I’m so sorry, Please, Forgive me… Sorry my daughter,I’m sorry for everything,, Please…. Please, Find it in your heart to forgive me” Mrs Whyte cried as she coughed loudly.
“I’ve forgiven you already”
“Just… Like that? 😭Thank you so much,, I’m glad though… I’m so happy you didn’t call me then!” Mrs Whyte said with tears.
“Why did you say that?”
“Do you know my boss I ran with? My So-called Lover?”Mrs Whyte paused
“Yes… Didn’t he die later on after 3 months when you went with him?”
“Yes…. It was all my doing! I killed him!, If you called me then, Who could possibly know what I could have done to you and your child,,I’m a murderee myself… I poisoned him just to inherit his wealth! Oh Goodness,, What a disgrace I’ve put myself to, Now… Take a look at me… ru-by,, I’m so sorry” Mrs Whyte confessed.
ru-by looked at her and began to cry.
“It’s okay…. Someone once told me,, “Let go the past… The past is the past”…..I’ve forgiven you so It’s okay… I really hope you change.. Mum” ru-by said shaking her head as tears flowed like tap down to her mouth.
“Thank you so much…. Daughter” Mrs Whyte whispered and closed her eyes.
She was dead! ru-by held her hand and began to cry loudly.
Her loud cries could be audibly heard even from the hospital’s reception. Everyone in the hospital instantly knew what had happened. The others around shaked their head in pity as the wailing got louder.
