Logan was dealing with a file when the door open revealing Susan.
“Seeing that you came to work a bit late today you must have made your decision” Logan said as she walk into his office.
“Yes. Here’s my resignation letter” Susan said and slowly he accepted the letter.
“My sister plans to set her business in another city and am going there with her ” Susan added.
“Are you okay now? “Logan asked which got her nodding in return.
“Am really sorry about what I did the other day. I had drank because I couldn’t accept the fact that you are no longer mine though you never were” she added lightly.
“Am sure that with time you will get to find some one who loves you ” he said while she gave a nod.
“I hope so too. Can I give you a hug?” Susan asked and willingly Logan got out of his seat and gave her a hug which finally put Susan at peace.
“Let’s keep in touch” she added lightly before leaving his office.
Logan picked up her resignation letter, a smile hovering on his lips when he got a call.
“Hello Eliz….am on my way” he added as he end the call before dashing out of his office.
As soon as he got to the hospital, he went straight to the ER floor where he saw Elizabeth, his mom and Whitney’s mom in tears.
“What happened?” Logan asked which got the girls gaze on him.
“She suddenly fainted as soon as she got to the hospital. The doctor is checking on her” Elizabeth said as she sniff softly.
The doctor soon came out to join them having a negative expression on his face.
“Her body is rejecting her heart and it’s all due to the fall she had yesterday” the doctor said.
“A fall? What fall?” Logan asked confused by it.
“I will fill you in on that later” Elizabeth said.
“What can we do now? Her body is rejecting the heart in her” Whitney mother said.
“She needs to get another heart. It’s the best thing for her right now ” the doctor said.
“But we know that won’t be easy. We’ve got a whole fifty people on the list waiting for donations but haven’t gotten. Will Whitney be put on that list too?” Elizabeth asked.
“She will have to except you have an alternative. Anyways, she needs to get the heart as soon as possible and also she insist on seeing Logan. Are you Logan?” The doctor asked and Logan nodded in reply.
“Come with me then” the doctor said while Logan followed.
Suit up in a medical gown, he went into the ICU (intensive care unit ) and saw Whitney frail form on the bed.
“You are finally here” she said softly.
“How are you doing?” Logan asked trying to put up a strong front.
“Hurting. It hurts a lot and I don’t need anyone to tell me that it’s my heart, am going to die right?” She asked and that got him shaking his head.
“You aren’t going to die” Logan said
“Promise me that if some thing….”
“I don’t intend to promise you a thing. You will get a new heart and you will get better” Logan said cutting her off abruptly.
“I wish it was that easy but we all know that it might take long before some one donate to me which is why I want you to promise me that you are going to take care of yourself no matter what” she said.
“I can’t promise you that and that’s because you will be the one to take care of me. Get some sleep, you need it” he said before leaving the room.
As soon as he got back to the waiting lobby, he saw his mom trying to calm Whitney mom but it was to no avail.
Slowly he went towards her and knelt in front of her.
“Don’t worry, nothing will happen to Whitney” he said to her.
“You must be Logan right? She’s told me so much about you” she said lightly.
“I wish we could have met during another circumstance but we are faced with this and I promise you that as long as I am alive nothing will happen to Whitney” he said as he made a vow to her.

~THREE YEARS LATER ~ CINEMA HALL~
As soon as the film ended every one stood up to clap Including Logan who was present.
He watched as Ben was swarmed by reporters while he answered their questions.
Ever since he produced his first film two years ago, he’s has been very popular and hardly even have time to see him which Logan didn’t mind since he’s very happy for his friend.
Deciding to leave, he was waiting outside for the valet to arrive with his car when Ben and Elizabeth came to join him outside.
“Running off?” Ben asked while the reporters who were around them began to take pictures.
“You seem busy and I still have other things to do” Logan replied.
“And that’s why we came to catch you before you leave, have it” Elizabeth said as she gave him a envelope.
“What’s this for?”
“Our wedding invitation ” Ben replied and the next few minutes was filled with Logan congratulating them.
“Now head on your business, I still have a red carpet to walk on” Ben said as he waved Logan off.
A while later, Logan made way to the cemetery and getting to a particular grave, he set the flower of bouquet on it.
“Thank you for everything ” he said and slowly made his way out of the cemetery.

~ BRIGHAM HOSPITAL ~
He got to the hospital only to see Romeo approach him.
“Why are you always the first one I see whenever I come here?” Logan asked
“Cause I was once your rival” Romeo replied which earned him a smile from Logan.
Just then they heard a familiar voice began speaking through the speaker.
“Romeo! If you are listening then you should know that it’s me Mary”
“What’s this girl doing?” Romeo muttered as the workers all stared at him.
“Have been courting you for years now, isn’t it time you say yes to me? Am pleading with you” Mary said through the speakers with no shame at all.
“I think that’s a proposal, just say yes already” Logan joked which got Romeo laughing.
“Then I better go and tell her my answer” Romeo said in excitement before making his way to the broadcast room.
A smile still hovering on his lips, he went to a particular ward.
“Your finally here!” The melodious voice said as soon as he walk in.
“Yes, I am ” Logan replied as he went towards Whitney to give her a kiss.
“I missed that and I made it clear to you not to get here late” she grumbled.
“I went to Ben movie premiere and also I went to the cemetery”
“Cemetery? Is today the day she died?” Whitney asked and he gave a nod in reply.
“I will always feel grateful to her. If she hadn’t decide to give me her heart then I wouldn’t be here with you though I was in a coma for two years” she said as she gave a sad expression.
Three years ago and when Whitney it was hard to get a donor for Whitney.
A lady had an accident which got her in a critical stage.
She could still have survived if she had wanted to but due to her deathly disease, she decided to give up and chose to give her heart to Whitney.
The operation was successful but then Whitney had got into a coma which lasted for two years.
“So how’s your physical therapy going? If you want to use your leg then you need to follow the therapist instruction” Logan said to her.
“And that’s why am giving my all. Can you do some thing for me?” Whitney asked.
“Am willing to do anything for you my precious” Logan replied and that got her giggling.
A while later they both sat on a chair on the hospital roof top watching the sun set.
“This is what you’ve been longing to see?” Logan asked and that got her nodding.
“Have been cooped up in the hospital room for so long. I needed this” she said as she took in a deep breath.
“Logan. How did you cope in all of this two years? How did you cope waiting for me to wake up?” Whitney asked as she fasten her gaze on him.
“The fact that I knew that you are alive and well got me pushing and also seeing your sleeping face made everyday of mine” Logan replied and that got her giving him a kiss on the lips.
“Thank you. Thanks for waiting for me ” she said.
“I should be the one doing that. Thanks to you I got hope again, thanks to you I got to know what love is and you brought me out of the darkness I kept myself in. Thanks for coming into my life” he said before giving her a kiss.
“I so much love you Logan. Let’s never separate from each other” she said as she wrap her arms around him.
“We won’t and my love for you is beyond compare ” he said feeling content by just having her in his arms.
The two sat silently in each other arms while they gaze at the sun set…..
