MAX POV
“Don’t you dare deny it, I can see that you like her “He said and having no choice I had to confess.
“Is it that obvious?” I asked
“Of course it is but thank God that only I noticed” Geoffrey said
“Don’t tell anyone, I haven’t told Andrea yet and I don’t want her to feel pressured by me or my feelings” I said
“That’s where you are wrong my dear friend, you should go after her now, as I see it Jack is also going after her and if you are not quic-k enough, he might just take her from you”
“And how do you know that Jack is interested in her”I asked
“Because I can see it, I can’t believe that the two great studs of Jupiter high fell for the same girl “He said
“As I have said I don’t want to put pressure on Andrea but I also don’t want to lose her, can you tell me what I should do not to lose her? “I asked
“Is the almighty Max asking for my help?” Geoffrey asked.
“Don’t joke with me! “I warned and he gave me a smile
“Of course I will help you, you might be smart when it comes to books and numbers but you are totally clueless when it comes to getting a girl, you can count on your best pal to help you”He said, giving me a grin.
ANDREA POV
“Now that we have all of our couple together, the game should begin” the announcer said
“For the first phase, you are to lift your p@rtners for a whole twenty minutes ”
I stared at Jack and he lifted me up in his arms
“You should have just let me get on your back” I said.
“And let you think that am not strong?” he replied and I smiled in return
I would have like it if I was doing this with Max but he had refused and Jack had offered his help and I wanted to have my own phone.
So I have no choice than to do it with Max, I thought as I held onto Jack.
A lot of people were alre-ady losing but Jack stood still holding me in his arms.
“Give it up for the two couples that are left” The announcer said to the crowd
“Now on the second phase, with the way you were holding your p@rtner before,you will raise a leg up” he said
“Will you be able to do that” I asked Jack worriedly,
“There is nothing I can’t do” he said as he lifted me in his arms again and raised a leg up,
“This is for the phone you want So much” He said giving me a smile and I gave him a smile in return.
“You can do this! You can do this! You can do this” I muttered to Jack softly,
When the twenty minutes was over we won and got to the final round.
,”Now this p@rt will be more tough, this is the riddle p@rt” He said
“One of the couple will think of a s£ntence and try to tell it to their p@rtner so they can say it out”
“The couple who gets it right? Gets to have the phone”He said
“Ap@rt from math do you lack in other things?”Jack asked and i punched him
“Am a master when it comes to solving riddles”I replied and his answer was to ruffle my hair.
The first couple did theirs and fail woefully, now it was our turn
Jack told the announcer the name of the riddle that he was going to ask me and then he stood in front of me and started giving me signs with his hands.
It was kind of ha-rd and at my first two attempt I failed what he was trying to show me but on the third one I got it
“Oh I know !I know ! You are trying to say that you love me “I said even before I realised what I just said
“Correct!” the announcer said and every one who witnessed the show began to cl@p to for us.
“Ahhhhh…….it’s so good to see the love between two young couples, never ever break ap@rt” the announcer said and it got kind of awkward between Jack and I.
We c@m£ out Pretending to be a couple and we must keep up with the act.
The phone was given to me and then he gave us two set of box each
“With just what have seen today, I can tell that true love last” he said.
“This is a token from me personally” he added as he gave us the ring,
Together we went back to Beatrice and Brenda who were waiting for us
I didn’t see Geoffrey or Max which was quite odd,
“Wow this is the latest, I have asked my parents to get it for me but they keep on telling me that I have to improve with my work”Beatrice said.
“But something keeps bothering me ,you are rich and can get a phone by yourself,why do you result to this?” Brenda asked
“I……well I ……..”
“Oh isn’t that the merry go round, I thought you said you want to ride it ,Why don’t we all go there ” Jack said distracting them.
“Yes, let’s go” Brenda said as she pu-ll-ed my hand and we ran off.
MAX POV
“What am trying to say is that you should fight for her before it’s too late, you will have to fight for her before it’s too late” Geoffrey said
“Andrea doesn’t like Jack”I said
“She might not like him but she might meet someone else for instance someone like me”Geoffrey said and I pu-ll-ed him r0ûghly by the arm
“You better not go near her”I warned
“Fine,I won’t,I was just joking,I mean it”He said when I wasn’t letting go of him
“Am just trying to help you, if you keep on with this then am sure that Jack will take her from you,just look over there”Geoffrey said pointing at the merry go round
I saw Andrea on the ride waving at Jack who was watching her
“That is the look of someone who is In Love”Geoffrey said as we both stared at Jack who kept waving at Andrea
“What can I do to get the girl I love”I asked
“That’s a great question, to get the girl you love, you will have to confess to her first ,then we can hit off from there”Geoffrey advice me.
“I just have to confess right?” I asked and he nodded
“Fine then, I will do it “I said feeling a bit nervous.
This is unlike me, I have never felt this way before, when it comes to wooing women I have always been on t©p but when it comes to Andrea I get scared and nervous, just what is this? I thought as we got to them.
“Where were the two of you? Jack and Andrea won the competition and she got the phone”Beatrice said
“Isn’t it good?”Andrea asked as she showed me the phone.
“I have to talk to you Andrea! Alone” I added for the benefit of the others
“What do you have to talk about with her that we can’t know?”Jack asked
“Something that has to do with us”I replied giving him an angry glare.
“Let’s just continue with our tour, Max has to tell her something important and we must not interrupt,Let’s just go”Geoffrey said as he pushed us off
As soon as I saw an empty seat in the park, I pu-ll-ed her there
“What do you have to tell me?”She asked and I felt more nervous
“I……I…….I just……'”
“Max what do you want to say? You are getting me scared!”she asked
“I just…….I want to know If you will be going to the school trip”I found myself asking, have really b!ow this up big time,I thought
“I won’t be going?”She replied
“Why?”I asked
“You must have forgotten that am not rich like you,the school trip is a luxury that i can’t afford and besides I have to take care of mom”she replied
“But you can’t just give up going for that reason, we can get someone to take care of your mom and we can pay for the trip ………”
“Your friendsh!pI can accept, your protec-tion I can accept but your money I won’t , I don’t want your money and I won’t have you spend it on me”She said
“But I want you to go on the trip”I said
“I can’t go because I don’t have the money and also I have to stay with mom”
“Andrea……”
“Let’s not argue about this,I am not going and that’s that” she said and walked off to join the others.
Unknown to us Jack was eavesdropping on our conversation.

ANDREA POV
“It’s really been a long day”I said as Max and I walked into the mansion
“And an interesting one at that “He said
It’s so good having my own phone, I thought as I kept on looking at it
“Do you really like it that much?”He asked
“No! I love it, it’s so good having my own phone”I replied
“And more so that Jack got it for you”he said sounding a bit angry
“But I asked you first, I wanted to p@rticipate in the competition with you”
” How do you expect me to p@rticipate in such a thing when I know that I can get one for you”he said
” I told you alre-ady,I ………..”
“Don’t want my money, you made it crystal clear to me at the park and so I won’t be spending my money on you”He replied and when I had nothing to say to that he continued
“Why? Why don’t you want me to spend my money on you?”
“Because it’s your money and I hate being indebted to someone”
“What if it was given to you as a gift”He asked
“No one gives something for free without hoping for something in return” I said as I kept going but then I st©pped when I didn’t see him beside me
“What about me?”he asked and I turned to look at him
“You? You are my angel, my angel who keeps my secret and helps me without expecting something in return “I said, giving him a smile.
“You are wrong “he said suddenly looking all serious
“Wrong as how ?”I asked as he began to walk towards me slowly
“Me keeping your secret and also helping you to lie is something that i hope to get back very soon”he said as he kept walking towards me
“Why are you saying that? “I asked as I kept moving back while he moved towards me
“You shouldn’t be asking that, you should be asking me how I plan on getting it back from you?”He said
“How! How do you plan on getting back your help from me?”I asked as I felt the wall behind me.
He cornered me and put his arm on the wall over my head and then he stared down at me
“By doing this’ ‘he said as he made a punch with his fist, thinking he was going to hit me, I closed my eyes expecting the painful b!ow but instead I felt a light k!sson my forehead.
I opened my eyes only to see him smiling down at me
“Did I scare you?”He asked, having fun at my expense.
I pushed him away and began to walk off but he c@m£ after me obstructing my path.
“Hey did I offend you?”He asked
“Just go to be-d alre-ady”I said wanting to move past him
“Did you really think I was going to hit you?”he asked
“It doesn’t matter,just go back in”I asked still feeling flabberg@sted by the k!sshe had given me
“Fine then but first”he said as he snatched my phone from me
“Hey give that back!”I yelled as I tried to get the phone from him but he kept running around
When I saw that the chase was just ma-king the whole thing worse, I waited for him to finish what he was doing and when he was throu-gh, he brou-ght it back to me
“Here, have put my number there, keep it safe, a lot of girls are dying to get it” he said, giving me a wi-nk and then he walked off.
I was still sitting outside when I checked my phone and saw that he had sto-red his name as ‘ANDREA ANGEL ‘
“What a crazy guy”I muttered as I head into the house
I was going to the maid quarters when a maid ran towards me
“The boss has asked for you, she said you should go straight to her study ” the maid said to me
“Do you know why she is suddenly asking of me?”I asked
“Well I don’t, all I know is that she is in the study, waiting for you “The maid said as she walked off
Why would Max mom want to see me, I thought as I went off to study.
On getting there, I knocked softly and with her permission,I walked into the room
“Have a seat Andrea”She said and quic-kly I sat down
“How is your mom doing?”She asked
“She is doing fine, recu-perating well”I replied feeling a bit nervous
“The hospital bill has been paid and clear ,so you don’t have to worry about it”She said softly and I nodded , thanking her.
“You know I had asked you to help me with a task before?”She asked softly
“Yes you had”I replied
“Well then I would like to tell you to st©p it”She said
“I shouldn’t try to get Rose and Max together!”I asked feeling a bit excited
“You don’t have to do that anymore and before I tell you what I have to tell you,I have to ask you this question”she said looking at me with all seriousness
“Ask away Ma’am “I replied
“What sort of relationsh!pdo you have with my son?”She asked
“Relationsh!p?”I asked a bit taken aback by her question
“Yes, you clos£ness can’t just be called friendsh!p”She said
“Max and I are just friends and nothing else, I can swear on that”I said
It’s a good thing that Max doesn’t like me the way I like him, it will only cause us more problem
“I will believe you this once, you are only friends with Max and that’s all right?”She asked again
“Yes ma’am”I replied
“Well then do me a favour “She said
“What ma’am?”
“Stay away from Max, even your friendsh!pis hindering the relationsh!phe has with Rose, each time I call or want to see,they all tell me that he is with you which makes me angry, you only said you were friends but yet you are always together, Max has a fiancee and that is Rose, so I will kindly ask you to st©p being his friend and to stay away from him”She said
“To stay away from Max?”I asked sadly
“Yes to stay away from him, he has an obligation to Rose and by being with you all the time is hindering it”She said
“Andrea help me,I want my son to be happy with someone who is right for him and that someone is Rose, try to keep your distance okay, each time he comes to you always remember that he has an obligation to Rose and that he belongs to her”She said softly
“I un-derstand Ma’am”
“I hope I don’t have to call you back in here to give you the same warning?”She asked and I nodded
“You can leave”She said and I stood up heading out
“I hope you do as I say Andrea, stay away from Max, I would hate to have to let you and your mother go”She said and went back to her work, dismissing me .
I walked out of the study feeling so sad, just when I thought that everything is going well for me, reality just had to come back.
“Stay away from Max” her words c@m£ back to me and I smiled sadly
I would just have to stay away from you, I don’t want my mom and I to be thrown out for the second, I love being in this house, love going to Jupiter high and if we were to get fired, I would have to change school and I won’t have to see Max again.
That is something I wouldn’t be able to bear, I would rather keep my distance than to never see him again……..
THE NEXT DAY
MAX POV
I went to school quite early, I wished I could skip it to be with Andrea at the hospital but I can’t do that.
The reason I c@m£ to school today is to pay for Andrea’s school trip.
I know she has asked me not to do it but I won’t be going on a school trip without her there,I thought as I head straight to the teacher as-signed to the task of receiving money
“You have been paid ! Why are you here?” She asked when she saw me
“Well I c@m£ to pay for a friend of mine, she is very busy to do it herself and so she has asked me to do it “I lied
“Fine then tell me her name”She asked
“Andrea,Andrea Blake”I said
“Again? Just what is it about that girl that you all keep on bothering me “The teacher asked
“What do you mean?”I asked
“Well her money has been paid, it was done recently. A student was here too to ask the same thing and I gave him the same response, what are you two doing ? Are you this girl knight in shining armour ? I suggest you go to clas-s”The teacher said as she turned her back to me
I wasn’t surprised by discovering that someone had paid for Andrea but what I wanted to know is the identity of the student that had been here before me.
