MAX POV
I got home and went straight to the study to look for my dad.
I wanted him to be there and I found him there, going throu-gh some do¢v-ments.
“It’s still too early for you to come back from school and it’s becoming a habit for you not to knock on the door “he said not bothering to look up .
“I saw the plane tickets that you had given to Andrea”I said
“Oh! So you have finally know the truth?”he said as he stared up at me
“Yes I have and let me tell you what I did to the ticket,I to-re it up”I said feeling very angry
“Well that’s alright, I can certainly buy a new one”
“Leave Andrea alone;”I said hitting the table angryily
“I don’t mind wasting my money to buy another ticket as long as that girl leaves your life for good”He said
“Why the hell do you insist on this,have told you that I don’t want Rose, I will work in the company, I will make it grow with out the help of Rose family, can’t you trust me to take care of the company myself “I said
“There is no such thing as your self, to get a company running and functioning well, you must have a back bone and that will be Rose ”
“When you fall, she will be there to help you up, she will be your option B when Option A fails, only Rose can do this, Andrea can’t do it and you want to know why?”he asked
“She has nothing to offer you, she is poor and you are rich and ………..”
“Why are you like this, you were once poor, you along with mom, that is also why you left Nick and I at the orphanage, you left so you could become rich, have being rich blinded you for good ?”I asked
“It made me realise what life is when you are poor, do you think your mom and I wanted to leave you two there? I can still remember that day clearly, she couldn’t st©p crying because she left her children there and I vowed on that day to make it so that you and Nick will never have to go throu-gh what your mom and i went throu-gh”
“I built this empire for you and your brother and unfortunately your brother is gone, you are the only one left and I won’t let you throw away every thing just for a girl who is not worth it “he finished
“Andrea is worth every of my time, just as you love mom, I love Andrea, can’t you just let go of this marriage thing between Rose and I?”I asked
“No and I think have had enough talking to you two on this, I thought Andrea will be s-en-sible enough to leave and never come back but it turns out that she is a fool just like you and so I must teach you two the ha-rd way, come with me”he said as he began to walk out of his study.
“Why do I have to follow you?”
“I have to show you why you must leave Andrea and I suggest you come with me before it’s too late”he said having a cruel smile on his face.
ANDREA POV
I stared at my phone and there was no reply or a missed call from Max.
He had texted me to meet him here after finding out about the ticket and it’s way past the time he asked us to see each other.
Wanting to give him more time, I stayed until it was late and finally realising that he wouldn’t show up, I left the cafe and head back home.
All throu-gh the way home, I kept calling him but he wouldn’t pick, why do I feel that he is avoiding my calls and texts.
I got back home and the first I did was to look at his window to see if his lights were on.
But there was no sign to show that some one is there.
As soon as I got changed,I went to the kitchen to try to pry some news from my mom
“I don’t know, I didnt go to the main house and am not sure if have seen the young master too?”she said suddenly
“I didn’t ask for Max “I said quic-kly
“Who are you trying to fool, do you think I don’t know of your relationsh!pwith Max?”she asked
“Am sorry that I didn’t tell you”I said
“You must have a reason why you chose not to tell me but what have been baffling me most is to know if the fight between the young master and his dad has some thing to do with him d@t!ngyou”she asked and not wanting her to worry, I lied
“Of course not, it has nothing to do with Max and I d@t!ng”I said
“I hope so, I don’t want your relationsh!pto be a hindrance at my place of work, if things become ha-rd for you two just break up okay,this kind of relationsh!ponly results to heart break and let me tell you that you will be the one to suffer most “she said as she ca-ressed my cheek
“I will “I muttered feeling bad.
A while later I stayed at the garden calling Max number again but he still won’t pick.
Doesn’t he know that he is ma-king me worried by not picking up.
I was about to go back to my room when I saw him walking into the house.
“Max!”I called waving my hand towards him to see that I was at the garden.
He turned to look at me and then he looked away and walked into the house.
“What was that?”I muttered as I kept on starring at him
He did see me and yet he walked on, did he just avoid me, I thought as I went to my room.
“Is some thing wrong?”I texted him and waited for his reply and he never replied until I sle-pt off.
I woke up the next day only to see that my message were all unanswered.
Some thing is definitely wrong,I thought as I got re-ady for school.
I got out of the gate expecting to see him waiting for me by his car but he wasn’t there and that got me feeling more worried.
I got to school hoping that I will get a chance to talk to him.
He was at his seat and even though I was seated, he never looked my way or tried to acknowledge my pres£nce.
Beatrice and Brenda got hold of my attention and I was diverted for a while.
When it was lunch time, I told the rest to go ahead,that I will join them and as soon as they left, I went to Max.
“Can we talk”I said and he closed his book in a way that showed that he was angry with me.
“I didn’t answer your call neither did I reply your message, what makes you think that I want to talk to you”he said
“What are you saying?”I asked
“Do I have to spell it out to you, you might be stupid when it comes to maths but you aren’t a fool when it comes to the others, figure it out your self”he said and walked off.
It isn’t what am thinking right, it possibly can’t be it, I thought as I ran after him..
I caught up with him at the hall way and I held his hand to st©p him.
“What are you trying to say to me? What do you mean by that Max? “I said and he pu-ll-ed his hand away and pu-ll-ed me by my hand walking me to a place where we could have some privacy.
He let go of me and moved away from me at the same time.
“What’s going on Max?”I asked
“Why make it this way, I tried to tell you by not answering your calls and messages,are you that dumb to reason it out your self”
“This is the second insult you have given me today, this is not you max? What has come over you”I said trying to move towards him but he pushed my hand away.
“Fine then,if you refuse to acknowledge it, I will tell you ”
“If it’s going to be some thing bad then don’t say it”I said getting scared of his answers.
“Let’s break up, lets st©p seeing each other Andrea”he said putting my fears in words.

ANDREA POV
“What! But why?”I asked as I stared at him
“I just don’t want to d@t£ you,that’s all I will say for now?” He said as he began to walk off but I pu-ll-ed him back
“You must be joking right, I don’t find it funny max, so plea-se st©p it”I said still holding his hand and he j£rked ma-king me fall in the process
“Am tired, am tried of fighting, he made me realise that I will be losing my inheritance if I should choose to be with you and i don’t want that, I don’t want to live a life of poverty with you, so I might as well call it off before he disown me, am not some one of your Caliber Andrea”He said and still sitting on the floor I yelled at him
“Are you leaving me because you are scared of losing your inheritance?”I asked
“Yes ,am leaving you because of that Andrea, I don’t want to be poor again, I don’t want to be like you “he said
“Max! This is not you! What really happen, are you doing this because your father threatn you again “I asked as the tears sli-pped off my eyes
“I just realised that losing my life over a girl isn’t worth it, You aren’t worth losing my life for”he said and walked off.
I sat on the floor watching him leave, I just can’t believe that Max will break it off with just because he is afraid of losing his inheritance.
“I would rather be disown than to lose you”
I remembered what he said to me when he to-re the plane ticket.
He had said some thing different then and now he is saying some thing different too, he is certainly lying.
His father must have done some thing, his father must have made him do it and I won’t give up until I get the answer from him.

“You can certainly come to the karaoke today right?” Beatrice asked as we all walked back home
“I don’t think so “I said softly
“But why?” Beatrice asked
“I don’t feel like p@rtying “I said
“You have been looking gloomy all day, what’s wrong?”Brenda asked
“Just an upset stomach”I lied
“Are you sure it’s an upset stomach or some thing else”beatrice asked as she to tickled me
“It is, what else would be wrong with me”I said as I moved away from her tickling
” Have you perhaps did it with Max?”beatrice asked wi-nking at me
“Did what?”
“Common st©p pla-ying dumb, we want to know if you had made love with Max, that will help us determine if it’s really a stomach upset you have or if it’s some thing else”Beatrice said and she and Brenda shared a knowing look
“What does my slee-ping with Max have to do with my stomach upset ?”,
“Did you hear that? She just confessed”Brenda said
“You have done it with Max right”Beatrice added
“You two should st©p,you are causing a scene”I said
“Oh sorry and about your upset stomach are you sure it’s an upset stomach or that you gave fallen pregnant!!!!!!”Beatrice asked giving Brenda a high five
“It’s not that? You two should st©p it”I said
“Oh so you are denying it, why don’t we ask Max him self”Brenda said starring at Max who was walking ahead of us
Before I could st©p them from calling him it was too late
“Max!!”they both called together and he turned to answer but when he saw me, he turned around and walk off
“What’s that?”Beatrice asked
“He heard but still ignored us”Brenda said
“I will see you tomorrow guys”I said as I ran after Max
I got to him too late because his car pas-sed throu-gh me.
quic-kly I head to the bus station hoping to catch up with Max before he goes to his room but the bus c@m£ late and it’s all due to some difficulty.
I got to the house late and while I pas-sed throu-gh the garden, I could see the lights to his room on
I wouldn’t be able to talk to him, the guards were still loitering about and am sure that they wouldn’t let me go up stairs with out a reason.
“Can we talk for a while ?”I s£nt him a message and went into my room to change.
I got dressed and went back to check my message box
“Yes, I also nee-d to talk to you,lets meet at the garden ”
On seeing his message,I left what I was doing and ran all the way to the garden.
He was standing there holding an envelope and even though he looked distance, I had the feeling that he was here to tell me to come back to him.
“Oh max” I said and ran straight to his arms
He held me for a while and then pushed me away again
“I didn’t ask you to come here so we can do that?”he said
“Then why have you asked me to come here?”I asked
“To give you this !” He said giving me the envelope
“What’s this?”I asked
“Just have a look”he said
“Fine then”I said as I to-re the envelope to have a look
“What’s this?” I said as I stared at the plane ticket
“It’s a plane ticket, another copy of the I to-re,I booked it my self “he said
“Why?”
“I want you to leave just as my father have said “he said
“To leave?”
“Yes, leave this place and start over, I don’t want to feel guilty”
“And why will you feel guilty max?”
“I broke it off with you, each time I see you,I feel guilty and I don’t want to feel that way again “he said
“Guilty, so you don’t love me any more?”I asked
“Do I have to say that too?”he asked
“Yes you have to? What is wrong with you Max? Why the hell are you pushing me away?”I asked
” I alre-ady told you why am breaking up with you?”
“Lies,they are all lies,I don’t believe it!”I said softly
“Well you will have to believe it, I don’t want you any more Andrea, so st©p this and quit pestering me” he said
“Does loving you mean that am pestering you?”
“Yes, your love is being a bother to me and I don’t want it any more, so find some one else to give it to” he said and turned to leave but I held him by his w@!st, wanting to make him see reason some how
“plea-se Max, don’t do this to me, I love you so much”I said still holding him
“But I don’t love you and if you know what is good for you, you will leave this place and never come back'”he said pu-lling free of my hold.
“What? I should leave and never come back?”I asked
“Yes, leave Andrea and never come back”He said again
“I can un-der stand you wanting me to leave but to never come back, that’s so cruel!”,
“It’s not cruel,as have said your love is a bother to me and if I keep on seeing you m,it won’t let me do the right thing with Rose” he said
“What are you doing with Rose?”
“Am getting engaged to her next week and it’s for real this time”he said shattering the little hope I have
“So leave, leave Andrea and never come back, this is the last thing I will do for you”he said and left the garden.
I stayed back crying so much, I couldn’t hold back the tears neither could I st©p feeling hurt.
How could Max do this to me, when he told me to break up with him earlier, I kept on hoping that his dad will be behind this but with him doing this, he have made me realise that it’s all his doing.
I don’t know why he suddenly change and though I want to believe other wise, he ma-king me believe his words.
I stared at the ticket and took it with me to my room.
THE NEXT DAY.
I ran into school looking at the time, I had woken up late and the bus had arrived late as usual.
I ran in thinking of the clas-s which would be on and I didn’t notice the students starring at me as I ran by.
I got to where some crowds stood and on seeing me Beatrice c@m£ to me and showed me her phone
“Is this true Andrea?” On seeing it I g@sp out loud and stared at every one who was starring at me .
