AT THE HOSPITAL ????
“Leo”
“Hi”
“Guess it’s your turn today?” Carly said and he smiles.
He took his sit so does Carly.
“How are you feeling now?”
“I’m getting better…thanks”
He nodded and brought out his books.
“You know I realized something”
Leo looks up.
“What?”
“We haven’t really talked to each other ever since I came to this school”
“Probably cause we had no reason to”
“Yeah…you’re right? It’s makes everything awkward”
“Just act normal…it’s no biggie”
Carly nodded.
“How’s everyone?”
“All good”
“Mercury?”
“She’s….fine…?”
“How are you two doing?”
“Just what are you driving at?”
“I know you like her”
“Everyone in the school knows”
“Yeah…exactly…you two are quite close…if she wasn’t engaged to Clark would you two be dating now?”
“She said no”
“I knew that”
Leo kept quiet.
“You know…at a point we just have to accept some things are not meant to be”
“Are you saying we’re not meant to be?”
“Maybe…but you never know what the future has in store for you”
“Exactly your point?”
“Don’t ruin your friendship cause of your selfishness”
“My selfishness?”
“I can tell Mercury really likes you a lot…you’re her best friend and she dotes on you a lot…but if you keep forcing your feelings on her she’s gonna…keep slipping away from you”
“So I should support her with another guy?”
“You know this other guy in question is also your best friend right?…tell me can you give up one for the other? At this point they both need you by their sides. It’s not their will to get engaged…they can’t help it either. I know it’s hurts but that’s how crushes are right? You’re lucky you’re even close to her”
“You do like Clark too. Are you telling me to give up on her like you do?”
“I’m not telling you to give up and I’m just trying to sat this isn’t the right time you impose your feelings on her. Like I said earlier you never know what’ll happen in future…the engagement may get cancelled…why don’t you have some patience for now?”
“They’re getting married after graduation…tell me do you still think I’m wrong trying to date her for a while before that happens?”
“Then…you think dating her before they got married is the best solution? You two are just gonna get hurt. Not only Will you hurt yourself but her also. I promise you your friendship won’t be like before if you go back to being just friends after they’ve married or you’re gonna keep dating her even after that?”
He kept quiet.
“See…you’re being selfish right now. You only care about your own feelings and just wanna satisfy yourself not caring what others feel. Don’t ruin what you have now cause of something you may never get…you’ll lose both I promise you”
“I like her so much…?”
“Then wait…we can’t decide fate…we can’t control it either…if it’s not her then…it’ll be another girl…not all crushes works out”

“I…don’t even know my parents…what they look like…their names…parental love…I don’t have such. Like others stories I was dropped in front of the orphanage when I was little. I grew up in midst of people who also lack love. Everytime I watched people came and adopt some of us…this happens for years..but never happened to me. I started to think maybe I was unfortunate. Nobody wants me. Then I met Clark ..I thought I was having it hard but…I realized even those with parents…those with houses…clothes…money…have their own struggles also. I liked Clark instantly cause I felt…I wasn’t the only one suffering and lacking love”
“I felt…we’re just the same…I understand him and he does also…I don’t wanna lose him…and I’m not ready to”
“Honestly…I don’t wanna lose Mercury also…she means a lot to me so does Clark…I don’t wanna lose either of them. What do I do?”
“Don’t push it. What is meant to be us meant to be…just know that…Mercury is an awesome person…it’d be a waste to lose such an amazing girl like her so does Clark”

“Let’s study…?” She opens the textbook.
“Ah right! Hope kings isn’t doing this also?”

“Oh no that guy is a pain in the ass…studying with him us gonna be so much…trouble…?”

THE NEXT DAY.
Carly Sat on a bench on the rooftop.
Ear piece plugged in both her ears listening to song.
She closed her eyes thinking of perhaps miserable life.
The people she met who saved her from the misery she is.
How her life is gonna be from now on.
She felt someone sitting beside her in the bench and one her eyes to see Olive.
She sighs.
“Are you here to bully me again?”
“Yh you’re right? I’m here to bully you”
“Spare me today I don’t have the strength”
She stood up trying to leave but he pulled her back making her sit.
Without letting her utter a word he lay on the bench with his head on her lap and close his eyes.
“Like you have a choice” he mutters to himself.
it’s all because of you…? Carly thought as tears streams down her face landing on his face
He opens his eyes and saw her crying.
“Don’t cry”
“Why do you care?”
“Wipe it”
“I don’t want to”
“Suit yourself then”
He closed his eyes but then another tear landed on his face.
“It’s really getting on my nerve”
“I don’t have the right to cry now?”
“Don’t…when you’re with me…I don’t like it” he said and she scoffs
“I cry when I want to”
“I should have know…as..stubborn”
“What exactly do you want from me?”
He kept mute his eyes still closed.
“Don’t worry about me revealing your secret…though you’ve done your worst…I’m happy to tell you I’m not as despicable as you are…get up”
“I don’t want to”
She pinched his cheek.
“Hey!”
He snapped glaring at her.
Carly stood up almost making him fall.
“I won’t let you push me around as you want anymore…you’ve showed me your worst and I’m not afraid of you any longer…?”
“Hey listen about the video_”
“Keep it to yourself…I’m done with you…don’t you ever talk to me again…I won’t just sit back and watch anymore…despicable” she glower at him before leaving.
“You’re gonna regret that!” Olive shouted after her.
“fu-ck off!” She exit the rooftop.
“Despicable jerk…?” She mutters as she opens the door just to meet kings there.
“Hey babe” he waved with a mouthful of popcorn in his mouth.
“Hey…kings”
“Babe…what happened? You look upset?”
“It’s nothing…?”
“Come on…tell me what the matter is…I don’t like seeing my sweet girl looking so grumpy…when you aren’t Olive he’s the only one among the COLD who doesn’t smile. I get scared of him sometimes you know…his handsome face is always looking so grumpy that I don’t even wanna approach him at all. But seeing what he did to you I guess he isn’t that bad ”
“Yeah…he’s the worst…obnoxious meanie…I hate him gosh”
“Why would you hate him? You shouldn’t when he did that for you…you should actually be thanking and bowing at his feet”
“Are we saying the same thing right now?”
“Of course we are…if it weren’t for him you wouldn’t be here right now”
“Exactly…none of these would’ve happened”
“That’s more reason you should thank him…he even got hurt. Right? He mentioned earlier in school he’s coming here today to change the dressing you should use the chance to thank him properly”
“Kings…can we study? What nonsense are you blabbing…who got hurt? Me or him? What thank”
“Gosh babe you can be impossible sometimes…at least it wasn’t that easy saving you…he got hurt you should at least…apologize and thank him for that”
“I’m the one who got hurt”
“Are we saying the same thing right now Carl?”
“I asked that earlier?”
“What are you saying then?”
“He did that to me…he was the only one who knew I was working at the bar I begged him not to reveal it but then he did that…he’s despicable and mean”
“What do you mean? Lia was the one who link that on the school website and the students pasted the posters everywhere…Olive took the pain and went to your house when you won’t come to school he tried to save you and even got hurt in the process so how is he despicable I think you’re the one being despicable right now…and ungrateful”
“He saved me?” Carly laughs.
“Not funny kings let’s study”
“You’re being impossible…I’m outta here…don’t talk to me unless you apologize and thank him” he took his bag and head for the door.
“I may not like him that well but I still admire his bravery…good day” he went out.
“What’s with him?” Carly thought as she lies on the bed.
“Urgh!!” She took her phone and dialed Mercury’s number.
“Mec…how did i got to the hospital?”
“Um….you…?”
“Don’t even think of lying and just tell me the whole damn thing”
“He told us not to tell you…Carly just forget about that and focus on your health”
“Mercury”
MINUTES LATER.
“If he’s dressing his wound then he should be somewhere around here…?” Carly said to herself as she opens a door.
“I knew it” she looks at Olive who was tucking in his shirt.
“Why? Are you here to lambaste me more? To tell me how despicable and whatever I am?”
He said but Carly rushed to him touching his body.
“Hey what’re you doing…?”
The nurse giggles and excuse them.
“That tickles hey!”
Carly finally lift up his shirt and saw the wound already plastered.
“Oh my gosh! Does it hurt?”
“What do you think?”
“Olive i_”
“You’re sorry? Sorry but I won’t take that” he pushed her away tucking in his shirt properly.
“You should have told me”
“We’re you ready to listen?”
“I was angry”
“Sure you are…I wasn’t that petty you know…I wasn’t ready to reveal your secret If I wanted to I would’ve done it when I found out…I can’t believe you even slapped me”
“You only knew so I of course thought you did since you hated me anyway…?”
“I still hate you and guess what…I hate you more now”
“Thank you for saving me anyway and sorry for slapping and calling you names…I’m sorry for your wound also”
“That’s all”
“What else?…why? You want an apple?”
“What do I expect?” He said leaving.
“Wait! Is it deep?”
“Would you like to check it out?”
“No thanks”
“I’m tutoring you tomorrow…so you know…?” He said and left.
Carly sighs.
“Why does he have to be the one to save me? Now I’m indebted to a jerk like him”
THE NEXT DAY.
“Your recovery is sure fast…I can assure you can go home by Monday”
“Thanks doctor…?”
He smiles and made a turn to leave.
“Doctor? Please can you make me sleep?”
The doctor looks at her with confusion.
“I would like to sleep…please?”
“I’ll send the nurse then”
“Thanks”
He nodded and left.
Minutes later the nurse came in and injected her just as she was leaving Olive came in.
“Hey handsome” the nurse winks before leaving through the door.
“Hey handsome” Carly mimicked her and Olive looks at her somehow.
“Are you sick?”
“I was..but I’m better now”
“Freak” Olive said taking his seat.
“Awwww…?” Carly yawned and stretch almost hitting Olive with her hand.
“Sorry…? So what’re we doing first?” She said lifting the bed up.
“Which do you want?”
“Maths”
MINUTES LATER.
Olive continues talking as Carly does off.
He hits her head with the book.
“AWWW…?” Carly covered her mouth as she yawns.
“Are you sleepy?”
“I think so…?”
“Then sleep” he closed the book.
“Are we done? But we just started”
“I have no interest in tutoring someone who has no interest in being tutored”
“Sorry…?” She tries to lift down the bed but it won’t go.
Seems it’s stuck.
“Move” olive said sitting beside her on the bed.
“Awww…?” She yawns again.
“Close your mouth it stink” Olive said and Carly moves closer to him yawning with her mouth wide open.
Olive glowers at her and she closed her mouth.
He focused his attention on the bed not minding her.
After what seems like minutes Olive suddenly felt Carly’s head on his shoulder.
She was already sleeping.
He pushed her back to the bed.
It’s seems the bed is stuck maybe she should just sleep like that.
But it will surely cost her body pain.
Who cares.
One last try if it’s not working then he will..ah!
The bed went down suddenly making him also go down with it.
He lays on top her their faces so close to each other.
Her breathing slowly fan his face.
Her hair all over her face still in deep sleep.
He gulps down nothing standing away from her.
He moves the hair away from her face and sighs.
She’s really getting on his nerves.
