???? Chapter Forty-Six ????

~The identity of the girl~

????BALLERINA????

“A maid?” She questioned, coming up to her feet. “I never asked for a maid, Heather.”

“I told her that but she insisted on working for you so I asked her to wait till you get back.” Heather stated.

Ballerina stared at the girl, whose head was facing the ground. The girl was fiddling with her fingers. “Are you okay?”

“I…Yes, my princess.” She answered, raising her head up a bit.

“Listen, I don’t know how to say this to you but… i really do not need a maid right now. I have…”

Chloe quickly went on her knees. “Please my princess. Please help me. My mom… she’s dying. She need to undergo surgery for bre-ast cancer and I don’t have any money… please, my princess. Help me.” The girl pleaded in tears.

Ballerina was taken aback by the girl’s tears. She never expected this reaction from her. In fact she didn’t know the girl mother was dying.

How was she suppose to even know that?

“Get… get up, Chloe.” She instructed.

Chloe shakes her head. “No. I can’t stand up, my princess. I really need this job. Please help me.”

Ballerina hesitate for a moment before taking a few de-ep breaths and said. “I will help you.”

Chloe jerked her head up to look at Ballerina, her eyes were wide-ned as if in shock. “You will?”

“Get up now.” Ballerina said calmly. “You can start working in the palace. And as for your mother, I promise to take care of her surgery.”

“What? You will take care of my mother’s surgery?”

“Hmm.”

Chloe shakes her head in disapproval. “You can’t, my princess.”

“What?” Ballerina asked, surprised.

“I don’t want to be a burden to you, my princess. You’ve already given me the job as your maid and that’s enough for me.”

“Chloe… i want to help you. Trust me, I don’t see you as a burden neither do I see any of my maids as burden. You all are like a family to me. Now, get up.”

Chloe slowly rose to her feet. “You are very nice, my princess.”

Ballerina smiled. “I’m just doing my duty as the crown princess, Chloe. Stop thanking and get to work.” She turned to Heather. “Take her to her chamber and also visit her mother in the hospital… you know what that means.”

Heather bowed her head. “Yes my princess.” She turned to Chloe. “Follow me.”

Chloe turned to Ballerina and smiled then bowed her head before walking away with Heather.

Ballerina let out a de-ep breath, grabbing the note she’d received and the flyer then went up to her room.

She really need a good rest.

Ballerina walked inside her bedroom and fell flat on her queen sized bed, her gaze were on the white ceilings.

*I’m inviting you to my show. I’m actually the solo lead.* Daisy’s words played in her head over and over again.

Would it be wrong if she said she was jealous?

Would it be wrong to wish Daisy never had that opportunity?

Would it be wrong to wish Daisy was the one who went blind instead of her?

Would it be wrong to wish she was never a part of the royal home?

She wanted to happy.

Everyone deserves to be happy.

Every human…

She was human, so why can’t she be happy like the others?

Why does her life have to be so tough, mysterious and tragic?

Why can’t her happiness last forever?

*Mummy, I want to be a ballerina when i grow up.*

*Of course, princess. Besides, why do you think you were named Ballerina? Huh?*

*Because I love ballet?*

*I know you love Ballet but that wasn’t actually the reason.*

*Then what was?*

*I knew you were going to be great in it. Ballet. Besides it makes you happy.*

It really does.

Ballet makes her very happy.

So why does it have to be cut short?

Why did that psychotic bastard have to shoot her right on stage?

Why did he or she make the stage turn into horror for her?

Why do life have to be so unfair?

She picked up the flyer in one hand and held the note in the other, tears streamed down her face.

Why does she have to be the one whose life was in danger?

Why can’t it be her whose show will be commencing three days ahead?

Why does it have to be her whose life was threatened and tragic?

Why can’t she.be happy life normal people?

Most importantly, who the hell is going to give her answers!?

Her phone started ringing, disrupting her quiet moment, she picked up her phone and answered the call.

“Hey.”

“Belle, what’s up?” Ace’s dried voice filled the other line.

Ballerina yanked out of bed. “Ace, are you okay? What’s going on? Why does your voice sound this way?” She panicked.

“I…I… I need you, Belle.” He said after a lot of hesitation.

“Where are you? Send me your location.”

????NAOMI????

She kept trying his number but no one was answering.

She was worried.

Have something bad happened to him?

Charles wasn’t the type of person to ignore people’s call, especially those people who was involved in fifteen years ago case.

Or maybe he is busy with his patients.

Naomi let out a de-ep sigh, walking out of the house, she opened her car and entered, started the ignition and drove off.

As she was about to make a left turn, a black Jeep drove to the front of her car, blocking her way.

“Who is that?” She whispered to herself, opening the car and coming door.

Someone in a black hoodie came off the Jeep and walked towards Naomi.

“Hello.”

Naomi eyes went wide at the sight of the person. “You. What are you doing here?”

“Hey, calm down. Is that a good way to great a long time…”

“Shut up. How can you have the gut to say that? Do you know all of the things you’ve done, you wrench?”

“What have I done?”

“Are you seriously asking me that right now?”

“Of course. I mean, I didn’t hurt Ace in anyway or did I?”

“You hurt his father! My husband!”

She walked closer to Naomi, smirking. “Did I? Actually, he brou-ght that upon himself.”

“How?”

She shrugged. “You know what you both did to me, Nao, stop acting clueless.”

“Fine. I admit we both hurt you but what did the kids do? Why are you hurting them?”

“Why else?”

“I get it that you hurting Ace because of his father and I but what did the girl do? why are you hurting her?”

“She saw something she shouldn’t have.” She replied.

“Are you kidding me right now?”

“Does it look like I am?”

“You need to stop doing this. Stop hurting those kids who knows nothing about your anger!” Naomi yelled in anger.

“Why should I?” She asked. “You and your dear husband made me this way so sit and watch me use it against you and the ones you love.”

“The ones I love?”

“Yes.”

“It’s me you want. Why don’t you just kill me end this whole shit? Huh? Just leave Ace and the girl alone.” She pleaded.

“It’s quite surprising to see you worried about the girl. But you forgot to add two other people… Paulo and Juliana.”

“Leave them out of this.”

“I can’t.”

“Kill me if you want but leave them alone. Please.”

“I can’t kill you, baby sis.”

“I am not you baby sis.” Naomi said angrily, shooting daggers at the woman.

“You seem very energetic today.” She teased, playing with Naomi strand of hair, Naomi slapped her hand away from her hair, taking a step away from her. “Do you know what hurt most?” Naomi stayed muted. “Seeing your love ones die, baby sis.”

“Stop calling me that, you bit-ch .”

“Ouch, that burns.” She started laughing.

“I’m going to report you to the police if you keep doing this.”

“Can you? Then try it, Naomi. I dare you to report it to the police.”

“Please stop.” Naomi cried.

“You are crying.” She started laughing. “It’s so good to see you cry.” She sighed. “I can’t stop. You make me greedy, girl. I don’t just want Ace heritage… I want the girl’s throne.”

“Can you be any less evil? why are you like this?”

“What do you think?” She paused. “Oh, before I forget, Charles is dead.”

Naomi gasped. “You…You killed him.”

“That doesn’t sound like a question.”

“That’s because it isn’t!”

“Stop yelling, you will damage my eardrum.” She laughed. “He tried reporting me to the police, baby sis. What else do you want me to do? Sit and watch? Of course i won’t do that. I will kill anyone who tries to come in my way. And that’s why I’m here,” She tilted her head to the side. “Tell Ace to stop a-ssociating himself with that girl, or else I will kill them both. And also, tell Paulo to stop the investigation…”

*You believe her? Do you think she won’t kill me if i stop searching?* Ace’s word rung in Naomi’s ear.

“Will you stop?”

“What?”

“If they stop the investigation, will you stop killing or getting involve in our life?” Naomi asked.

“Well… that will be after I get what I want.”

“And what is it that you want?” Naomi asked her.

“I told you. I want everything. Everything you own. Everything your husband left behind. Everything.”

“And what about the girl?”

“Her throne. Well, it isn’t me who want her throne but someone else. And as for me, I want to be the queen. You know, ruling have always being my thing.” She smiled. “Greedy people will always come together to achieve a common goal.”

“At least you know you are being greedy!”

“Yeah. I admit. But why didn’t you admit your wrongs that day?”

“I did nothing wrong.”

“You didn’t? Whatever. I can’t waste my time going back to the past.”

“Stop what you are doing.”

“I CAN’T.” She yelled angrily, glaring ha-rd at Naomi. “I’ve come too far to stop. I want everything I couldn’t own. You made me this way. Whatever happens to Ace, the girl and Paulo will be because of you. I’m only leaving them now because they have nothing to do in all of this but were only unfortunate to get involve in all of this. But I won’t hesitate to kill any one of them if they keep looking and especially if Ace stay close to her. Ace shouldn’t remember anything and neither should the girl…anyone of them who does, will die.” she points a finger at Naomi. “If you don’t want anymore death… do as I’ve told you.” She turned to leave but Naomi stopped her by grabbing her by the wrist.

“Ace isn’t just my son…he is your_”

“Don’t even dare.” She quickly cuts her off. “Don’t think of saying that shit to my face.” She pulled her wrist from Naomi’s grip forcefully. “I forgot about everything the day I killed your husband and I don’t intend to remember any shit relating to any of you.”

“Do you think you can ever forget? Do you think one can ever forget about a memory?”

“Can’t they? Besides Ace have totally forgotten about me, which is a good thing. So tell me, why can’t one forget about a memory?”

“He didn’t forget about you. He just mistook the whole situation!”

“Well that’s a good thing.”

“He hates me because of you! My son hates me because of you.” Naomi sniffed hard, trying her best not to shed tears.

“Don’t blame me, girl. Blame the face that you got.” She took off her hood, bringing her face to the open. She was smiling. “What, you think I won’t use it against you? In fact, you’ve given me a better idea… Watch and see how I’m gonna make a very use of this face, baby sis.”

????PAULO????

He opened the box, bringing out all of the docu-ments on it.

He pulled out a particular docu-ment and opened it, going throu-ghthe pages in search of anything useful.

He didn’t find anything.

He took out another file and went throu-ghit…still nothing!

He was going to pick out another one when his gaze made contact with a brown envelope, Paulo took out the envelope and opened it, there was a flash drive inside.

He knitted his brows in confusion, taking out the flash drive.

What could the flash drive contain? He wonders.

He look around and found a laptop seated on the table. He rushed towards it and inse-rted the flash drive.

He clic-ked on a video in the flash drive and started watching.

It was a video of Claire, Ballerina aunt, she was talking as of talking to someone.

Paulo increased the volume so he could hear what she was saying.

“Ballerina, I’m sure when you watch this, you must have gotten your missing self. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for not telling you the truth. I’m sorry for leaving you in the dark room but believe me, I did everything just to protect you. I love you so much and I regret everything I did in the past. I regret getting jealous of my sister. I regret hating her success. I regret going behind her back to get her throne. I… i regret everything. If only I didn’t do anything foolish, none of what happened would have happened. You wouldn’t have seen that awful accident and that bit-ch wouldn’t have gotten involved in our life! Hate me if you want, Ballerina. I deserve it. I deserve all of the hate.” She paused. “Your parents didn’t die because they had lot of enemies… they died because of what you saw that night. Honestly, I shouldn’t have taken you there but jealousy blinded me. My intention was to get you missing but instead of that, I got something more… you witness the incident and that turned everything upside down. I saw it as a good thing. I was happy. But the day my sister died, I realized I’ve been wrong all along. I realized that being mean and selfish wouldn’t get me anywhere… That’s why I took very good care of you, Ballerina. Yes, i love you so much but I also feel very guilty for taking your parents away from you. I didn’t kill them, Incase you are wondering but someone else did. I have the footage of the whole thing, if you need them, just go to the heart of the palace, you will find it. I’m sorry, Ballerina. I’m very sorry.”

The video came to a stop.

Paulo eyes were wide open as he stared at the screen.

“She witness a case?” He asked himself. “What case?”

*There is a connection between Ace and Ballerina.*

*what connection?*

*The girl… the witness of Mr Reyes case is…*

“Ballerina.” Paulo gasped.
