“I know everything now” Dora muttered, crying softly with running tears
“About?” Molly asked.
“My father… I know everything mum hid from me”
“Just tell me everything. I’m here for you,, talk to me” Molly said not allowing her twitching eyes leave Dora’s
“Just say what you wanted to say” Dora muttered.
“Hmm?” He hummed.
“About him… that man,, called my father and why my mum wants me out of Italy ” Dora said.
“You remember you once stayed in NY when you were little, right?” Mike asked.
Dora looked at him and nodded.
“I do remember but I was really young then so my memories there aren’t vivid anymore” She said.
“Oh,, I see. Anyways, your mum stayed with her aunt since she was an orphan. They lived in Ny. It happened, your mother was a cop student. It was her dream to be a cop. Her results and every outcome she made in school was positive and well received”
“But everything shattered, one night after a night class she had with few of her friends in school. It was really dark that night and it rained cats and dogs. While she was running home,, a drunk stranger who saw her alone, passing through a tight corner ran to her and took her forcefully”Mike said
“What?” Dora whispered as her eyes suddenly began to turn red.
“She was forced, pulled and beaten by the stranger. despite her force and strength to leave the stranger, nothing worked. She screamed but it was just useless. No one came”Mike said
Dora’s eyes released tears immediately.
“Your mother was raped” His voice came.
“Ahh”Dora gasped aloud, and covered her opened mouth with her palm.
“Bella doesn’t even know who that man is. No one knows. She didn’t even catch a glimpse of him that night since it was dark. After the rape, she fainted… It was only a few minutes, she woke up…
“Mum… Mum…” Dora muttered, and stood up from her bed, trying to run downstairs,, but Mike quickly held her and pulled her back to the sit on the bed.
“It best you let her be now. She has been restless and she’s resting now. Don’t you agree she needs right?” Mike asked.
Dora nodded and sobbed quietly. The tears ran down her eyes like water fall.
Mike sighed heavily.
“Your mother really hates when you talk about that man cause he isn’t your dad,, he’s just a mere stranger. No one,, no one at all knows who he is”
Dora placed her face on her laps, crying loudly and heavily.
“Your mother managed to fall in love after all this years” Mike whispered and Dora looked up at him.
“What?” Dora muttered.
“She fell in love with a co worker by name,,kelvin Hoffman They were crazily in love with each other”Mike said
“Wait? Kelvin Hoffman?” Dora asked.
Mike nodded.
“Kayden’s surname is Hoffman and his elder brother’s name is Kelvin… Could he be the one or its just a coincidental name?” She asked herself.
“What’s that about?” Mike asked.
“Hmm… Sorry, do you have the Kelvin picture? There’s something I wanna confirm. He sounds familiar. I just wanna see if he looks familiar” Dora said.
“Wait, I have one of his picture he took with Bella for a shoot here on my phone” Mike said, taking out his phone.
He went through his albums and stopped when he saw the photo shoot. He gave the phone to Dora who opened her eyes widely.
“He’s the one” Dora muttered.
“Who? You know him?” Mike asked.
Dora nodded and gave him back his phone which he collected back.
“How do you know him?” Mike asked.
“The guy whom I told you, I really like… That’s is his elder brother”
“What? really? Kelvin?”
“Yeah. Kelvin and Kayden are brothers”
“That means they can’t really be together. Or would you like it if Kelvin dated your mother? Would you like it if your boyfriend’s brother marries your mother”Mike asked
Dora inhaled deeply.
“Ever seen when a father and his own son marries a single mother and her daughter respectively. One thing about love is that it crosses all boundaries,, well, except if they’re related by blood,, then,, I think it’s absolutely wrong”Dora said
“I’ve seen when an adopted girl fall for her brother. I’ve seen when a father’s son falls for her step sister. Note this,, they aren’t related by blood”
Mike looked at her.
“It’s okay if mum likes Kelvin. They can date, and marry. I don’t care anymore. It won’t change the fact I love Kayden, would it? I’m really wrong for telling my mum not to love despite how she suffered for me” Dora cried
Mike sighed and rubbed his forehead.
“Let me speak to mum. let me tell her to see Kelvin. They can fall in love and get married. I support them. I want my mother to be happy” Dora said
“It’s too late” He sighed again.
Dora looked at him.
“What? How?” She asked.
“When you asked her not to love, she broke up with him…
“They can still get back together. I’m gonna make sure they do. I’m a matchmaker,, you know” Dora said
“It’s really too late, Dora . Your mother was the one who matchmade him with her friend instead”
“What?”
“Yeah. Kelvin is now dating Renee,, Bella’s best friend”
“F*ck,, No! It’s my fault! If only I wasn’t a fool! If only I was smart! If only I wasn’t greedy and selfish,, then,, mum would be so happy” Dora started crying again.
“I really still can’t get over the fact I’m a product of rape. A child of a total stranger” Dora said.
“Your mother wanted to abort you then,, on various occasions but that heart of a mother stayed with her. She loved you to fight for you, stay and stand by you and take care of you despite all the critism she had… Her aunt had to even stop her from going to school because she was angry that Bella refused to abort you”
Dora looked down with tears rushing down her eyes.
“The only thing you can do for her now, isn’t to match make her with anybody. It’s to make her dream come true. What she couldn’t complete, what she wished for… What she wanted. To be a cop..”
“I know it isn’t your dream. But why don’t you close your eyes and make her happy?…Got to ltaly and be a cop. You might love it later on”
Dora sighed.
“I don’t really know but I might think about it. I’m not sure I want that. Anyways, I’ll talk to her”
Mike nodded.
“Good. Since I’ve talked to you, Let me take my leave. Goodnight” He said, and stood up.
He was already at the door, trying to turn the knob when Dora called him.
“Sir,, Who’s this Mom’s friend, you called Renee? She sounds familiar but I don’t know her,, strange huh?”
Mike smiled and turned to her.
“Renee and Bella has been close friends since Childhood She stood by Bella and helped her in times of need and trouble. Renee’s brother is your childhood sweetheart”Mike explained
“What? Wow! I do know my childhood sweetheart but I’ve forgotten his name” Dora forced a smile.
“He’s Raymond Coker”
The forced smile on Dora’s face vanished and a neutral sullen look interfaced.
“Wh…at?” She stammered.
“that’s his name” Mike said, and left.
“Raymond?That Raymond ?” She muttered to herself.
“What the h*ll? What sort of coincidence are all these?” She thought.
Dora remembered what Mike told her about her mother and she started crying once again.
Molly inhaled deeply after she heard Dora’s words. She pulled Dora and hugged her for some minutes.
Dora hugged her tightly,, not wanting to leave her any moment soon cause she’s crying on her body.
“It’s fine,, I’m here” Molly said, and broke the hug.
Dora wiped her tears and looked at Molly’s face.
“How did you find out I was here though?… I’m sure mum didn’t tell you anything”Dora said
Molly hung her head low.
“There’s something I must tell you”
“What’s that?” Dora asked.
Molly had finished explaining and confessing. She looked at Dora who seemed sad and disappointed.
“I’m sorry for betraying you”
Dora sighed.
“Its fine. My mother was bound to know one day” She said.
“There you go again,, you never tell me when you are hurt. You just hold everything and feign ignorance,, just because you don’t want our bound to crack. It’s okay,, you can tell me anything. I’m gonna take it all” Molly said, sobbing distinctly.
Dora looked at her. Tears were slipping down her cheeks.
“Molly I’m disappointed, angry and sad. Why didn’t you tell me before jumping to accept Edward?! Why did you allow me to catch you guys kissing instead?! I felt really bad, trust me. Even now,, I’m still sad and pissed,, that you betrayed me. The reason I’m not gonna push you away is because you are now remorseful about your wrong doings. I’m glad you confessed and apologized” Dora said.
Molly broke down in loud tears and Dora hugged her tightly.
“Hey,, I should be the one crying and not you”
“You are also crying too” Molly sniffed.
Dora sighed deeply.
“Dora….I’m really sorry. Please forgive me. Edward is also sorry” Molly kept begging in tears.
Dora tapped her back gently.
“It’s fine now” She whispered.
“By the way,, I met with Kayden and he badly and seriously missed you. He wants to talk to you” Molly said.
“What? Really?” Dora almost screamed, and quickly broke the hug.

“Kayden” Avia called.
Kayden slowly turned to her. He looked at her from head to toe and noticed her bag,, her things with her.
“What are these?” He asked, slowly.
“I’m leaving. My stay is finally over” She said.
“Gosh!!”He screamed.
“I said I wanna talk” He added.
“I don’t wanna listen to you. Its a waste of time since I know exactly what you want to talk about. Molly that tattle mouth” Avia scoffed.
Raymond glared at her and she slowly walked away, past him. She suddenly stopped and looked at him.
“Raymond left… I ain’t sure he’s coming back. Since, I can’t have him… I’m gonna have you. Dora shouldn’t be loved this way! Why two guys for her and none for me?!” Avia yelled painfully with tears.
“Octavia”
“Kay?”
Kayden eyes opened wide. She called him Kay,, again.
“I’m coming back for you. If I can’t have you or Raymond then Dora can’t have any of you. Call me selfish and greedy,, I don’t care”she yelled
“What are you thinking?!”
“I’m thinking of killing Dora or that person who would like her at the ending of all this”
“What are you…
“That enough for you I’m off… Goodnight” She said, and walked away from the scene.
Kayden roughed his hair and hit his fist on the tree in rage which kind of hurt.
