Tessa eyes were almost shutting. Connor and Jake had move their legs to step in for her without caring about the implications.
Clef and Karl held them, begging them not to leave.
It’s really over! It was the end! Whoever wanted to go just had to go! They had tried enough! Staying alive was really ha-rd!
Doris wasn’t even looking. Her eyes were at the other side. Vera stood by her.
The others watched as Tessa slowly gave up. They had tears in their eyes.
Tessa gasped aloud, and slowly stretched her hand towards Celia who was still using the strength on her hand whilst choking her.
Tessa gagged as her hand tou-ched Celia’s che-st, fondling it slowly.
Suddenly,, Celia coughed, and blood ran down her mouth. Her hand let go of Tessa who fell down instantly with a loud thud.
“What just happened?” Vera muttered, with shaky eyes.
Doris quickly turned around. Her curiosity was seriously at its peak.
Right before her eyes, She saw Tessa stand up from the ground, on which she had fallen.
She gr-unted lowly and stared at a trembling and weak Celia.
Celia looked at Tessa. She was holding a heart. Her own heart.
How? Tessa was still in her zombie form.
She had quickly sticked her hand de-eply into Celia’s che-st like a sharp dagger and cut off her heart, from its place.
She snapped it out and before her, She was holding her heart. It was her life.
Celia couldn’t talk. She fell down instantly and died. Everyone was relieved but yet very suprised.
Tessa’s wounds and redness, which was gained by the rou-ghchoking and sharp fingers, closed up and healed immediately.
She cracked her ne-ck, raised the zombie heart to her face, and ate it at once. She chewed it like her life depended on it.
She swallowed it and it really showed throu-ghher throat as it went down by making a lump right there on it before it slid down to her stomach.
She dried the blood stained on her lower li-p with her tongue and wiped her li-ps.
“It doesn’t taste good!” Tessa hissed.
“Yayyyy!!!” She heard joyful screams.
She turned back and for-ced a smile.
She looked at the scattered zombies, who weren’t even troubling her.
However, the zombies seemed to making their way towards the others.
“Aiish” She muttered, and ran towards the zombies.
She kept using fighting skills, and even killed them most in the process.
“Whoa! Tessa is really good” Vera smiled.
Doris smiled back.
“Yes, She is…”
“If not her, I seriously wonder what our fate would have been. We could have di- Vera paused, and her smile vanished immediately.
Doris noticed and looked at her.
“You okay?” She asked.
Vera didn’t say anything. She slowly strolled away, like a programmed robot.
“Wait, Where are you going?” Laura asked, holding her worriedly.
Vera snapped her hand away.

Vera didn’t respond to anyone or anything.
She finally left and unfortunately, Connor wasn’t even aware.

Vera had tears in her eyes. She held a familiar zombie and took it away to a small corner.
It growled at her which made Vera cry the more, and she had to leave her hand.
“Ma…bel?” She stuttered.
“It’s me…” She added, walking slowly backwards.
“Remember me? Ver…Vera? Your best friend? Mabel,, please,, snap out if and remember me. Remember how much we spent and loved each other” Vera shouted.
Mabel wasn’t in her right senses. She just walked towards Vera who was begging in tears.
“Mabel!!! Get back to your senses!! Please Remember!!!” Vera shouted, in wails.

“Doris?… Where is my sister?” Connor asked.
Doris swallowed ha-rd.
“She left” Bianca answered, quickly with her usual soft voice.
“What? Why? Why did she? Is she nuts! Does she want to be killed? Why didn’t any of you stop her!” He asked.
They didn’t say anything.
“Fu-ck!” Connor spat and tried to leave when a hand suddenly held his.
Connor turned and saw Jake. He snapped his hand off and glared ha-rd at him.
“What is wrong?” Jake asked, worriedly, gawking.
Connor scowled, and ran off without saying a word to him.
Jake sighed and took out the dagger from Clef’s sash.
“Please, Let me borrow this” He said.
Clef nodded.
“Hey, Dude. Where are you-
Karl couldn’t complete his statement anymore. Jake had left sight.

Tessa kept fighting and killing the zombies till she was really exhausted.
The stupid zombies didn’t even fight back. It was really a simple task for her though she felt tiredness now creeping into her.
Cause of her fatigue, Her zombic nature was slowly withering away.

“Mabel!!! Please!!!” Vera cried, aloud as Mable opened her mouth to bite, and su-ck her blood away.
Connor heard the loud voice, and stopped.
He looked to see Vera almost getting bitten by Mabel who was now a terrifying but pitiful zombie.
“Fu-ck” Connor muttered, and ran to her rescue.
He was very swift.
He pushed Mabel away and held Vera’s hand.
They were about running away but Mabel from behind, held Connor’s shirt.
Connor noticed this and stopped in fright. He swallowed ha-rd and let Vera’s hand go. He pushed her away till she was a bit far from him.
“Connor?” She whispered.
“Just go!!” He shouted.
Vera eyes brou-ght down tears again.
“No…No…I can’t-
She paused when she saw blood. She took a closer look and saw Mabel bi-ting a hand.
“What’s the-
She saw Jake just behind Mabel.
He came from the back and had placed his hand on Mabel’s mouth which was about bi-ting Connor’s back.
Jake’s blood flowed down and dampened Connor’s shirt.
It was now feasting on a delicious blood and made away with Connor’s shirt.
“Jake!!” Vera shouted and Connor turned.
“Ja…ke?” He stammered.
Jake eyes were teary.
“At last, you can leave Tessa for me, huh? Remember, I later took the hit back so- He gr-unted in pains.
“Let her go” He added.
Connor painfully cried, squeezing his face till it got so red.
Vera was crying as well. Her face was puffy and her eyes were inside.
“Just tell Tessa I love her so much and I’m willing to cross the ocean borders for her. I’m willing to go extra miles to be with her- He paused mo-aned painfully.
“Tell her I adore and cherish her,, now and forever”
Vera and Connor slowly went backwards.
“Tell Tessa not to think too much. She shouldn’t be too hurt and sad” He smiled.
Noticing, Mabel was leaving, He turned to them.
“Run,,, Please” He pleaded.
They cried ha-rd and doubled their pace in running.
Jake watched them leave sight and inhaled de-eply. He sat down in struggle, mo-aning in pains.
He looked at his palm and saw the de-epest wound ever.
“Fu-ck” He muttered, as his fingers cracked, and veins traveled around.
“I can’t let her see me this way” He breathed heavily.
“I can’t hurt anyone. I can’t. Besides, I’m a vampire and not a zombie” He said, and slowly crawled to the knife miles away, which zombies were stepping on.
The knife had fallen from him and thus when he couldn’t find it, He had to protect Connor from Mabel is some way.
At least, His debt had been paid off. He went to the knife and picked it.
The zombies weren’t even disturbing him since his blood wasn’t pure and he was at the verge of turning into a zombie.
He gr-unted lowly as he dug the knife quickly into his che-st.
He coughed out blood, and kept on muttering ‘I Love You, Tessa’ with tears in his eyes, till his last breath.

Tessa’s ears picked up something. She was hearing the loud sounds of the helicopter. The wind from its rotor was causing a little bit of chaos.
Tessa smiled, and ran off to the others.
Her zombic form had worn off already.
“Its here. Please, be quick!!” Tessa shouted, waving at it.
Tessa looked around, and made a slight pout.
“Where is Jake?” She asked.
Everyone looked down. They knew already. Their faces were so gloomy especially Connors’.
Tessa for-ced a laugh.
“Why isn’t anyone talking? Where is my Jake?!” She asked, again.

“No! No! I nee-d to go!!” She cried, with her zombic form now coming back.
She roared in anger.
“Nothing can be done… We nee-d to leave” Doris said.
“You took most of the zombies down but not all. We could all die if these ones comes closer” She added.
“I don’t care! My baby is gone and I didn’t bother to tell him I love him! I didn’t even thank him for protecting me when-…Ah…What to do,,, It really hurts” She cried out, holding her che-st.
The ladder dropped before them, from the helicopter.
“Let’s go,, please” Clef begged, as he climbed up.
Karl sighed sadly and went after him.
Laura was about going. She tou-ched her sister who was resting.
“Unnie? Let’s go” She said.
Lia didn’t respond.
“Unnie?” Laura muttered.
“Unnie!!” She shouted.

“What’s…what’s happening?” Connor asked.
“I…I don’t know” Laura body was shaking.
Connor checked her pulse, and inhaled de-eply. He looked at Laura and shook his head.
“I’m sorry. She’s gone” He said.
Vera ti-ghtly shut her eyes. Tears ran down immediately.
“No… You are wrong, right? She… can’t just leave without saying anything!”
“Unnie!! Please! Let’s go!! We can go now!! We… we are finally saved! They came for us so let’s go,, please!!”
“Why aren’t you saying anything! Why aren’t you opening your eyes! Don’t do this to me!! Please,,, Unnie, wake up…I beg you, please!! Ah…Unnieeee!!” She cried out.
Everyone sighed.
“Come on!!” One of the rescue team shouted.
Connor sighed, and held Laura.
“Let’s go,,, please” He begged, and finally took her up.
Vera followed suite, Then Bianca.
“Doris,,, go” Tessa gestured.
“No,,, you go first” Doris smiled.
Tessa nodded sadly and did so.
She finally went in and looked down.
“Doris?” She called.
“Tessa, I’m sorry” Doris whispered.
“What do…you mean??” Tessa asked, stammering.
Doris sighed de-eply as she saw the veins now traveling around her hands.
“I’m sorry for keeping you lonely. I’m really sorry… I’m a zombie. I can’t-
“Shut up! Who said so! Stop the jokes and- Tessa paused when she saw zombies moving around Doris without hurting her.
“You get it?” Doris smiled again.
“No…No!! Don’t leave me! Please, don’t! I can’t possibly live without you!! Doris! Please!! Please!!” She begged, shaking her head in fear, while stretching her hand.
She looked at the rescue team.
“Help my sister,, please”
“What can we possibly do? It’s over. She’s a zombie!” One replied, and just then,, they, p@$$ed down a bomb.
“What are you trying to do? Get my sister killed!!” Tessa roared.
“Can’t you see? She’s a zombie!!” The Head of the team thun-dered.
“What to do?? I’m also a zombie” She smiled, slyly as her zombic nature came back.
“Hey! What are you doing??” Connor asked.
‘”I’m sorry but I can’t do this anymore” Tessa said.
“Leave now if you are a zombie! We don’t want to hurt you!!” The head said.
“I planned to leave in the first place” Tessa said, and fell down from the helicopter by her back.
Everyone stood up, watching, except the rescue team.
She went down instantly and landed safely on dead zombies.
“If you are a zombie, leave now while I’m being nice!” The Head of the team said.
There was silence.
“Men! Check them and be fast about it. The bomb timer is at 3 minutes!”
The men searched them thorou-ghly and afterwards went to the Team head.
“They are safe sir” The men told their boss.
“We can leave now” He cleared his throat and the pilot took off.

“Tessa? What are you-
“I can’t leave without you! I wanna follow you! You guys can’t do this to me!! No!!” Tessa cried, touching Doris veined face.
“Its too late. Wait,,, what of my bag?” Doris asked, sniffing. She was crying too.
“Seems I left it on the helicopter seat. Sorry for losing it but what so precious or important in it?” Tessa asked.
Doris sighed.
“Its too late to explain though. Look, It’s really over” She pointed at the bomb.
Tessa turned and looked at it. It was at 5 seconds.
“I guess this is the end…” She for-ced a smile and closed her eyes, as she felt Doris hand creep into hers.
The timer was now on 3 seconds…
