Tessa walked beside Doris and to-uched her.
“Hey-
“Are they gone?” She shivered, still not looking up.
Tessa sighed and nodded.
“Sure. You can look up now”
“Are you hurt?” Doris asked, still shivering.
“And why would I be?” Tessa smiled.
“Hurry. We nee-d to go home now” She added.
Doris sobbe-d and took her head up. She stood up quic-kly and hu-gged her ti-ghtly.
“Hey. You might choke me” Tessa laughed.
“I’m sorry. Gosh,, I’m really sorry, Tessa”
“Its fine now” Tessa smiled, stro-king her back. Doris broke the hu-g and looked at her face.
“It’s a relief you aren’t hurt. When you screamed and begged, I thought they were hurting you. Sadly, I couldn’t save you like you saved me. I just kept my head low”
“I’m fine, seriously”
“Don’t worry, Tessa. I’m gonna save you next time… I promise”
Tessa smiled and nodded.
“Sure… Sure”
Doris faced Connor.
“By the way, How did you know-
“Huh… He was walking nearby and saw us right. Besides, he lives blocks away from our place” Tessa said. swiftly.
“Wow. We have the handsome and smart guy close to us?” Doris asked and Tessa smiled warmly.
She looked at Connor and noticed he was quite weak. He was a hybrid and after using his powers, he felt tired.
Tessa rushed to him.
“Connor? You alright?” She asked, facing him.
Connor shook his head.
“No… I’m so…tired and sleepy” He mo-aned and dropped right on her shoulder.
“Oh gosh” Tessa said, surprisedly and nervously.
The Next Day, Morgan’s High**
“Welcome Miss Hannah” They all greeted her and she smiled.
“How was your night, y’all?” She asked.
Some replied with;
Good,, Awful etc.
Miss Hannah chuckled.
“I hope y’all will have a better night sleep tonight”
“We hope too” Half of the cla-ss replied.
“Mason? Mabel? They both aren’t in cla-ss today?” Miss Hannah asked, with a sigh.
Everyone looked at their empty seats briefly. Vera looked at Mabel empty chair for a while, sighed and looked away.
“Well, We have a little test for y’all today-
“Oh nooo!!” Half of the cla-ss screamed.
“Gosh! Why?” Jake rou-ghed his hair and slammed his head back on the desk.
“And you, Jake! No slee-ping for you today, got that” Miss Hannah pointed at him.
“Yes ma’am” Jake muttered and took his head back up.
“Tear out a sheet of paper y’all,, Its a literary test” She said.
Everyone mo-aned as they to-re a sheet of paper.
“Good..Make sure to write your names” Miss Hannah said, as she watched them write their names.
“Now, Y’all should write a composition of the person you love the most and why you love the person”
Jake swiftly raised his hand.
“Huh? Yes, Jake? Any question?” Miss Hannah asked.
“Yes” Jake replied and stood up.
“Go on” Miss Hannah smiled.
“How do we know we are in love with someone?” Jake asked.
Everyone looked at Jake.
“Well, Your heart tells you who you love the most. It beats happily when you are close to the person. Your eyes doesn’t want to stop watching that person. Your ears isn’t tired of hearing that person’s voice and a lots more”
“Now,, Who do you love the most, Jake?” Miss Hannah smiled.
Everyone in the whole cla-ss continued looking at Jake.
Jake scanned his eyes around the prying eyes but stopped when his eyes met with Tessa and at that second, he felt his heart race.
Tessa looked back at him, wondering why he was staring at her.
Connor watched where Jake’s eyes was staring at. He looked down before taking his eyes to his work.
“What’s this? Why’s he looking at her?” Vera thought.
“Jake?…. Jake? Jake!-
“Yes, Miss Hannah?”
“Geez. Why do you look so spaced out? Seat down and write down something”
Jake nodded and obeyed quietly.
Tessa shook her head and minded her work. She looked at Doris and saw her happily filling her paper. Tessa smiled at this but her smile vanished when she saw Laura was stuck, not writing anything. Rather, she held her pen ti-ghtly.
“Laura? You alright?” Tessa asked, worriedly.
Laura sighed de-eply.
“I don’t know what to write” She said, softly.
“Huh?… Why not?”
“I actually thought I was brilliant. Who am I kidding, I’m such a dullard”
“No. Don’t say that. I’m gonna help you” Tessa said.
Laura looked at her.
“How? I don’t remember loving anyone?”
Tessa looked at her sadly.
“What’s with that pity look? I haven’t received any love since my mother died” Laura said, and looked at Lucas at the back who wasn’t writing but staring sadly at his blank sheet.
“And who said we can’t write that the people we love are dead. The person I love most in this world is my real mom. Guess what?” Tessa whispered.
“What?” Laura asked.
“I don’t even know my mother. I don’t know what she looks like either”
“What?”
“Surprised huh?… Yet, I love her so much. She’s the best person I’m gonna ever love”
“How’s that possible?”
“Not sure. But my heart tells me so. I love her so much”
“Me too. I love my mum” Laura smiled.
Tessa smiled back at her.
“What are you waiting for? Your paper won’t fill itself”
Laura chuckled and started writing. She paused and turned to Lucas.
Lucas managed to look back at her.
“M.U.M” Laura stressed her words.
Lucas smiled and nodded. Very soon, he was writing something down. Laura smiled and faced her test back.
Tessa inhaled de-eply and to-uched her pendant. She stared at her blank sheet for a while before writing.

3 Days Later**
“Mason? Mason?” Karl tapped him.
Mason g-asped loudly before opening his eyes.
“Gosh! You startled me” Karl exclaimed.
Mason quic-kly sat upright on the be-d. He looked around.
“You look really sick? Is that why you haven’t been coming to school?” Karl asked.
“What are you talking about? Did I miss school or what?” Mason asked.
“Have you been slee-ping since. This is the 3rd day you missed school the last time you came”
“No! No! No” Mason sprang up to his feet.
“What’s it now?” Karl asked.
“Tomorrow is the last day” Mason thought sadly.
“I had better do this fast” He whimpered.
“Are you alright?” Karl went to him.
“Your are so fu-cking cold. Your b©dy can freeze the whole room,, you know” Karl sighed.
“I’m fine. You can go. Gonna meet you in school tomorrow” Mason said walking to the bathroom.
Morgan’s High, The Next Day**
Mabel saw Mason on the corridor. He was just coming from the gents while she was going to visit the ladies restroom. She stopped him quic-kly.
“Why haven’t you been coming to school? You look awfully sick too-
“Darn it! Mabel! How many times do I have to tell you to leave me alone. Get lost! Get the fu-ck out! Stop prying into my life!” He snapped and walked past her.
Mabel held her tears from falling. She bit her lowerl-ip ha-rd and clenched her fist. She quic-kly ran into the rest room.
Some girls were there and she nee-ded the restroom on her own. She wanted to bawl her eyes out and scream in tears without any disturbance and watching eyes.
Seeing she would cry from that moment, She quic-kly said some magical words and that instant, everyone freezed like statues.
Mabel held the sink and began to cry. Someone suddenly to-uched her shoulder and she fearfully g-asped.
She turned around to see Tessa looking at her.
“I was in the toilet and heard you crying. Sorry, but are you alright?” She asked.
Mabel just kept crying without replying.
Suddenly, everywhere became dark and thun-dered clapped loudly,, accompanied by a striking bright thun-der.
They quic-kly shut their eyes, frightened and opened them slowly.
When they did, they saw a woman who wore a beautiful red mask with Se-xy looking b©dy looking at them.
“How… how did you get here?” Mabel shivered.
“Who are you?” Tessa asked.
“Wait. You don’t have to tell me” Tessa scoffed.
“A supernatural?” Tessa added.
“A new blood, eyy?” The masked lady said.
“You are the face shifter. One who destructs people and seizes their powers using their loved one faces” Tessa said.
“You got that right” The masked lady chuckled. She brou-ght her masked face to the girl’s front and giggled.
Mabel was alre-ady shaking in fear while Tessa watched her, undisturbe-d.
“So, girls? Who do you love the most?” She asked.
They didn’t say anything. Tessa slowly took out her pen without any of their knowledge and pierced her skin,, allowing her blood to drop down.
The lady giggled again and disappeared. Tessa and Mabel also disappeared alongside.
