I couldn’t think straight right now.

Who dare kidnapped my sister?

I don’t think I offend anyone?

Nor do I fight anyone, so what would be the reason for kidnapping her?

“Which direction did they follow?” I asked Becky, who was still p@n-ting heavily.

“That way” she replied trying to catch her breath.
Samyn and I rushed towards where Becky pointed but unfortunately, we found no traces of the kidnappers.
We rushed back inside.

“Monalisa we have to go now, sorry” I said facing Monalisa
“Why?, the p@rty hasn’t come to an end yet, so why rushing?” Lisa asked

“Humm… actually we have to attend to something important, so we must go” Samyn said and we rushed out.
While driving, my phone rang.

“Samyn check the caller for me” I said driving on a high speed
“Unknown number” she replied

“Pick the call and put it on speaker” I said and she did just that.
“Hello” I said to the caller

“Archie Myers” the person said in a thick voice
“Who are you? How did you know my name?” I asked
“Why not let’s leave that aside and talk about your sister” the person said

I st©pped the car immediately I heard ‘my sister’. I snatched the phone from Samyn

“Who are you? What do you want ? Why did you have my sister kidnapped?” I asked

“Hey hey, calm down boy, we actually didn’t kidnapped your sister, we were paid for her life” the man said

“What do you mean? Do you have my sister with you or not?” I shouted

“Didn’t you hear me? Or are you deaf? I said your sister is here” the man said

“plea-se let me hear her voice” I pleaded
“Save me brother, these men are bad” I heard Lenita’s voice over the phone.

“Do you now believe we have your sister with us?”
“plea-se don’t hurt my sister, if you want money, I’ll arrange it for you but plea-se I’m begging you, don’t hurt my sister” I pleaded, alre-ady close to tears

“We don’t nee-d anything from you, we’ve been paid to kill your sister, someone has paid for her life” the man said
“Oh plea-se, don’t kill my sister, I beg of you plea-se” I pleaded in tears

“Sorry man, your time is up” the man said and hung up.
“God plea-se save my sister and I won’t ask for more plea-se” I said amidst tears

“It’s okay Archie, everything will be alright” Samyn said as she wiped my tears with an handkerchief.

“Let’s go and Lodge a complaint at the police station” Samyn said and I drove straight to the police station.

“Good evening Mr, what do you want?” A police officer asked us while standing at the entrance.

“I’m here to register a complaint about my sister’s disappearance” I said and he let us in.

“Sir, this man is here to register a complaint about his sister” the police officer said

“Yes? What happened to your sister?” The inspector asked
“We were at a p@rty when we discovered that she’s missing, then a girl told us she saw some armed men taking my sister away. Some minutes ago, I received a call from the as-sas-sins and I spoke with my sister, which means she’s there with them truly, and they said someone paid for her life, so they’ll kill her” I explained

“Sorry Mr, I can’t register any complaint of such right now, it hasn’t been 24hrs, we can’t declare her missing just like that” the inspector said

“What are you saying inspector? We received a call from the kidnappers and they admitted to it that they have his sister with them, and we even spoke with her, so what are you saying?” Samyn shouted

“Excuse me ma’am, you can’t come here and start shouting, I said I can’t register any complaint of such, do you want to teach me how to do my job? To be frank…” the inspector was still talking when Samyn re-moved her hoodie.

All the police officers pres£nt were shocked and surprised to see her.

“Tiana Hathaway” a female inspector said in surprise.
“You’re surprised?? Of course you should be, I c@m£ here just to ask for your help to rescue his sister but you’re proving adamant, what did you say police are? *We are friends to the mas-s* isn’t that what you pasted there?” Tiana said as she pointed at a small notice board that says *Police are friends to the mas-s*

“Then why are you not helping us when we’re friends… You like helping the rich only to get money from them, and ignore the powerless because they can’t offer you anything, had it been we mentioned a hvge amount of money to give you if you help us find his sister, then I’m very sure you won’t be digging de-ep into this matter… I think I nee-d to call the commissioner, you don’t deserve this position if you can’t help the mas-s” Tiana said and brou-ght out her phone to call the commissioner but the inspector st©pped her.

“Sorry ma’am, I’m really very sorry, you… you… you can state your complaint while I write it down” the inspector said fearfully.

He wrote down our complaint and we left there.

✓ IN THE CAR ✓

“Why did you reveal your face? Don’t you know it’s dangerous” I said to Samyn

“If I didn’t re-move my hoodie and let them know who I am, we won’t have our complaint written, so I thought of doing that, they don’t like helping the poor, only the rich and powerful people can have their way in their custody, and I hate that!” she said and I placed my hand on her cheek.

“Don’t worry, nothing will happen, and for Lenita, I will find a way to save her from the as-sas-sins, even if the police refuse to help me” I said

“They wouldn’t even dare to ignore the case” Samyn said and we hvgged.

“plea-se don’t let Chris and others know about this matter, try to act cheerful, I don’t want them to worry about my sister” I said
“Alright, let’s go” she said and I started the car and drove off.

“Have you heard about what will happen in this coming week?” Wisdom asked me

“No, what is it?” I asked
“There will be ghost-walking and blindfolding competition on next week Wednesday” Wisdom said

“Oh, that’s nice” I said, then Jessica, Monalisa, Archie and Jessamyn arrived.

“See them, just coming after the principal had alre-ady addressed us, you guys are late today, why?” I asked
“Did you guys choose the time you’ll arrived together?” Wisdom asked and they smiled

“We met at the school entrance” Samyn said
“Good morning love” Jessica greeted as she hvgged me and I reciprocated.

Monalisa also did the same to Wisdom.
“I guess you guys haven’t heard the latest gist in school” Wisdom said

“Is it about the ghost-walking and blindfolding competition that will happen on next week Wednesday?” Monalisa asked

“Of course yes, it is the talk of the school now” I replied
“How did you know when the principal just announced it this morning and you haven’t arrived then?” Wisdom asked

“Don’t you know how the students of this school are? They’ve uploaded it on the school group just some minutes ago, I saw it on my way here, in the car” Monalisa said

“How is it going to be? I’ve never heard of ghost-walking and blindfolding competition before” Jessamyn said

“Talking of the ghost-walking, the contestants will be covered up from head to toe in white cloth, and they will walk to a specific place where they are meant to st©p, then the winner will emerge” I explained to her

“And what about blindfolding competition?” Samyn asked
“About that, the contestants will be blindfolded and they will be asked to pick some tennis ball, the winner will be determined from the highest ba-lls picked” Archie explained
“Alright, sounds nice” Samyn said

“Are you contesting?” Jessica asked Samyn
“No, you?” Samyn asked back
“I’ll take p@rt, it’ll be so interesting” Jessica said

“How about you Monalisa?” Samyn asked
“I’m also p@rticipating, I would love p@rtake in it” Lisa said

“Alright, best of luck, I know you guys will win” Samyn said
“Archie, Mr Charles said you should s£nd the names of contestants of our clas-s to his e-mail account” Wisdom said and Archie nodded.

“And he said they shouldn’t be more than 12” I added and he nodded again.

I took my pen and jotting book, then I headed to the front of the clas-s.

“Attention everyone” I shouted but they’re not re-ady to listen to anything

“Attention plea-se” I shouted again and they kept quiet.
“What do you want? Why are you disturbing us?” Mia shouted but I ignored her.

“Mr Charles said I should s£nd him the names of whoever have interest in p@rticipating in the coming competition, so if you’re interested, come and put down your names in my seat” I said and went back to my seat.

They started coming to register their names.
“What’s your name?” I asked them one after the other

“Evelyn”

“Marietta”

“Jenny”

“Babita”

“Miranda”

“Clara”

“Eric”

“Anderson”

“Is that all?” I asked
“You haven’t write my name” Monalisa and Jessica said at the same time
“Alright, I’ll do that now” I said

“Do you know my name? Or should I tell you my name?” Jessica asked and we all bur-sted into laughter.
Ria and Mia appeared in front of me.

“You haven’t put down our names” Ria said
“Write our names now or do you nee-d us to spell it for you?!” Mia shouted

“Where were you when others c@m£ to put down their names?” Jessica asked

“Were you dead?” Monalisa added

“Better mind your speech, else…” Ria said
“You’ll beat them because they’re your younger sister” Wisdom said

“Else what? Excuse me, pack your mess selves to your seat” Lisa said

“Ria, leave them alone, we’ll teach them a lesson” Mia said and they went back to their seat.

“You don’t know more than that, you’ll teach us a lesson because you’re teachers” Jessica shouted at them
“Bunch of idiots” Chris said

I pit down their names along with Jessica and Monalisa’s.
Then I s£nt the list to Mr Charles email account.

“This clas-s is boring, girls plea-se make us laugh like you always do, plea-se, I can’t bear this boredom” Chris said
“We should make you laugh?” Jessica asked with a grin
“Yes plea-se” Wisdom said

“Alright, Monalisa let’s bring it on!” Jessica shouted and Monalisa smiled

We created space for them to pas-s as they c@m£ out and stood in front of me.

“You haven’t put down our names” Jessica said, obviously doing what Ria did.

“Write our names now or do you nee-d us to spell it for you?!” Monalisa shouted demonstrating just like Mia did some minutes ago.

We all bur-sted into laughter as they did that.
“You girls are so funny” Chris said and laughed the more.

“See how they’re staring at you with killer eyes, better come and sit back” I said and made way for them to pas-s but they wouldn’t listen as they still wanted to continue their skit.

“Don’t worry Mia, we’ll teach them a lesson” I said to Mia who was burning in rage.

“I won’t let them p@rtake in the competition” Mia said
“What will you do?” I asked

“Come, let me tell you” she said and whispered something into my ear. I smiled on hearing it.

“That’s perfect!” I said as we air high five.
