Episode 15
I WANT YOU BACK

……………………….
Victoria and I rarely argued.
I could only count three times in our friendsh!pwhere we argued. Those times, it was only mere disagreements and we always hvg and make up soon after.
We never argued for long. Our friendsh!pwas too close and strong for that.
Now, was one of those times and even though it was another disagreement, it was the first I’ve seen her like this. I’ve never seen Victoria so angry and full of hatred before.
“Are you out of your mind?” She was asking, shaking her head vigorously. “Did you forget what he did to you?”
“Tori, it’s not a big deal. I’m just going to hear what he has to say and leave.” I said, trying to calm her down.
As soon as lunch c@m£ around, I told Victoria about meeting Logan after school. She was not happy about that. So, she was trying to convince me that I shouldn’t see him.
“I still think it’s a bad idea. You cannot go and see him.” Tori insisted. “He hurt you without thinking about it, Emily. A guy like that don’t deserve a chance to explain himself in my book.”
“There’s no way I’m giving him a second chance. I’m going to listen to him and that’s it. I promise.” I said, hoping she would un-derstand. “I just want him to leave me alone.”
Tori snorted, still shaking her head. “I can’t believe you’re thinking about it?” Her eyes suddenly went wi-de. “Oh my God! He’s getting into your head again!”
I scowled. “No, he’s not.” I said, my voice rising a little to match hers. “I just don’t get why I can’t meet him without it meaning anything.”
“Because I know him. He’s a manipulative douche bag!”
“I won’t let him get to me. I know I won’t.” I said, my voice getting quiet.
Tori looked at me for a while, before sighing. “You’re right, I know you won’t. I just hate him for what he did to you. I don’t want him to hurt you again.”
“He won’t hurt me again, because I won’t give him a chance to.” I replied.
“Fine, but can I at least come with you?” She asked. “I don’t trust him.”
“Thanks, but I nee-d to do this on my own.”
“Okay, but if he tries anything funny, don’t be surprised when his b©dy turn up in the lake.” She warns.
I couldn’t help but bur-st out laughing. “I won’t.” I said, t©uçhed by how much I could depend on Tori for anything. She is always there for me, just as I’m always there for her.
“Good.” She said, finally taking up her apple jui-ce and taking a sip. “Where’s Tyler? Normally, he would join our table.”
“He said he’ll be skipping lunch today. He’s probably somewhere creating trouble with Seth.” I wrinkled my nose in disgust. “I told him he nee-ds to st©p doing that.”
Tori’sl-ips stretched into a wi-de smile. “You two are a cute couple.” She said out of nowhere.
I gave her a wry look. “We are only fake d@t!ng, remember?” I reminded her.
“I know, but it would be cool if you guys were actually d@t!ng. You both look cute together.”
I rolled my eyes. “We are not. Besides, I’m so done with pla-yers. I can’t stand guys who can’t stick to one girl.”
Tori grinned. “And you don’t want to be burnt twice.” She surmised.
“Not at all.” I said, then turned my attention to the fries on my plate.

At the end of school, I head to the back of the school where the football field was.
The football field at Preston High was hvge. It was the field for football, soccer, field hockey and rugby. Half of it was taken up by bleachers.
Adjacent the bleachers, a few trees were on the side with a few benches un-der it. Students would sit un-der the tree before and after school to hang out.
In some cases, couples are often un-der the tree ma-king out; wanting somewhere pri-vate.
I scan the area looking for Logan and I saw him sitting on one of the benches un-der the tree. He was staring in front of him, watching as the cheerleaders practice.
I made my way over to him. I may have talked a good game about hearing what he had to say, but I was still hesitant to meet him. I mean, he did cheat on me and I was still angry.
As soon as I reached him, he turned to face me and patted the seat beside him. I stood where I was and cross my arms. “Just say what you have to say, Logan. I have to get home.”
Logan sighed and stood. “I miss you.” He said.
I gave him an incredulous look. “That’s it? Seriously, that’s what you wanted to talk to me about?”
“Babe, don’t be like that.” He stepped closer to me and I took a step back.
“Don’t ‘babe’ me.” I said annoyed. “I’m not your babe.”
“Just plea-se give me another chance. I want you back.”
He begged
“I can’t do that. You hurt me, Logan and I don’t think I’ll be able to trust you again.” I sighed.
He stared at me for a while and then said suddenly. “I know you miss me too.”
I hesitated at what he said, then sighed again. “Of course I miss you. We d@t£d for a year. You don’t expect that to go away so easily.”
“Then give me another chance, Emily. We both will be happy.” He persisted.
“It’s not that easy.” I replied, then added. “I’m sorry Logan, but I can’t be your girlfriend again. I just can’t. Besides, I’m d@t!ngTyler.”
“I don’t un-derstand what you see in that guy.” He said, his tone ha-rd .
I felt my temper rising. “More than what I saw in you!”
Logan crosses his arms. “What makes you think he won’t cheat on you?”
“Because he’s not you. Tyler is committed to me.” I said with as much conviction as I could muster.
“Do you really believe that?”
“Yes!”
Logan sighed again. “Look, I really messed up. I don’t know what I was thinking. Let’s put it behind us and be a couple again.”
“No, Logan, I’m not going to do that.” I said adamantly. “And there’s nothing that you can say or do to change my mind!”
Before he could say anything else, I turned and walked away from him. He had the nerve to ask for me back! How stupid did he think I was?
I didn’t get far, when I heard him shout. “Just watch, I will get you back, Emily! It’s only a matter of time!”
He’s so obnoxious!
I st©pped walking and face him again. “Don’t hold your breath!” I shouted back, before turning and walked away from him for good.

Episode 16
CANCELLING THE d@t£
……………………………….
As I made my way back to the parking lot, I saw Tyler heading there as well. Good. Right on time.
Before the day was finished, Tyler had told me that he had something to do right after school and I should wait on him.
I didn’t mind, because I knew I was going to meet Logan. I told him to go ahead, hoping that he would be re-ady by the time I’ve finish talking to Logan.
As I reached closer to him, he looked at me and then his eyes shifted over my shoulders. “Someone looks angry.” He said, indicating his head behind me.
I turned and looked behind me and saw Logan still standing where I left him.
The only difference was his arms were crossed and he s£nt a glare in Tyler’s direction. If looks could kill, Tyler would be six feet un-der by now.
I turned back to face Tyler. “Good for him. He nee-ds to svçkit up and move on with his life.”
Tyler s£nt a sm-irk in Logan’s direction before facing me again. “Let’s go. We’re going to the coffee shop down the street.”
I gave him a confused look. “Why?”
“Because a few of my friends, who are on the football team, invited me.
We’re just going to hang out and they suggested I bring you.” He replied as he started to walk to the driver’s side of his car.
I st©pped in my tracks and sh0t him a glare. “I don’t get it. Why do I have to go?”
He turned back to my direction and sh0t me a mischievous sm-irk. “Because you’re my girlfriend, remember?”
“Oh yeah.” I gro-an ed in defeat. To be honest, I had forgotten that detail. I breathed a heavily sigh and grumbled un-der my breath. “I hate this.”
I didn’t think Tyler heard me until he sh0t me a grin. “I know, that’s why it’s fun.”
I rolled my eyes at him. “Just get in the car and let’s get this over with.”
“Okay, right after I do this.”
Just as he said that, he turned around and walked back to me. As soon as he reached where I stood, he wra-pped his arms around my w@!st.
My eyes wi-den in surprise. “What are you-?” Before I could finish my s£ntence, Tyler pu-ll-ed me closer and brou-ght hisl-ips to mine. I lost all thought processing as he began to k!ssme.
Once again, I bec@m£ captivated by his k!sses and losing all s-en-sible thoughts; I k!sshim back.
The k!sswas sweet and pas-sionate and it took my breath away. Everything else around me faded away and all I could focus on was hisl-ips on mine.
Finally, after what seems like forever, he pu-ll-ed away. I looked up at him and cleared my throat, trying to get myself together. “What was that for?”
A sly sm-irk appeared on hisl-ips. “Just putting on a show for your ex b©yfri£nd.”
It took a while for my foggy br@in to register what he was talking about. Finally, my br@in began to function again and my eyes wi-den with realization.
I didn’t even know Logan was still behind us. Now it all made s-en-se. “It looks like he didn’t like the season finale.”
I didn’t dare to look behind me, but I can imagine that he didn’t. A wi-de smile spre-ad across my face as I imagined the look on his face. “Genius.”
“I know.” Tyler responded. I rolled my eyes at him and placed my hands on his che-st to push him away from me.
“Get in the car, Tyler. I hope you and your ego can fit.” Tyler chuckled as I walk over to the pas-s£nger side of the car and got in.
For the entire car ride, I couldn’t help my mind from going back to the k!ssin the parking lot.
I didn’t like that I was thinking about it, because I can’t allow Tyler to get to me like how he gets to all the other girls at our school.
Besides, it was a mere k!ssdone to make Logan jealous. The sooner I st©p thinking about it, the better. Gosh, I really was regret agreeing to this deal.
Within five minutes, Tyler pu-ll-ed his car in front of the cafe. It has been awhile since I’ve been here.
The last time I was here, I was striking a dangerous deal with the most obnoxious boy I’ve ever met.
Tyler and I exited the car and entered the coffee shop. As we entered, I saw that it was crowded with students.
Students from our school and nearby schools. I was surprised it was crowded, because it was only a Tuesday afternoon.
“Yow, Tyler! Over here!” I heard someone shouted. I turned my attention to where the voice c@m£ from and saw a table in the corner of the cafe, loaded with a few boys on our school’s football team.
Seth was also there and a few other boys who weren’t on the team. A few girls was there as well.
Tyler walked over in their direction and I followed him. When we reached their table, Tyler hit his fist with the guys.
I couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable standing there. One of the boys look over in my direction. “So, this is your girl. Glad you brou-ght her.” I had to st©p myself from rolling my eyes at ‘your girl’.
Tyler, however, was enjoying this. He turned to look at me and grinned. “Yeah. Emily, this is Ryan.” He pointed to the guy who spoke, before introducing everyone else.
I alre-ady knew most of them alre-ady throu-gh gossip. Tyler sat down on the end of the seat. My face drop with realization as I saw that it was the last space on the seat.
Before I could decide where to sit, Tyler’s hand grasped mine and pu-ll-ed me to sit on his l@p.
I was surprised at his action, but I had to clamp down my protest. I didn’t want anything to look suspicious. pla-ying along, I turned to Tyler and gave him a sickly sweet smile.
However, behind that smile, I was scowling at him and he knew that. I turned around to face the others and indulged in their conversation, while trying my best not to squirm in Tyler’s l@p.
++++++
We stayed at the coffee shop for an hour, before everyone decided to leave. All they did was talked and I listened.
The only time I contributed to the conversation was when I was asked a direct question. I was glad when they decide to leave, because they were boring me with their guy talk.
Everyone had now left and Tyler and I was the only one left. Tyler went outside to wait on me, while I went to use the restroom.
When I c@m£ from the restroom and walked from the coffee shop, I saw Tyler leaning against his car, ma-king out with a girl.
I shook my head as I walked over to him. Was he crazy? Did he have any idea what his crazy stunt will cause?
As I reached in front of him, I cleared my throat. He abruptly pu-ll-ed away from the girl and they both turned to face me.
The girl wasn’t even embarras-sed, she just looks at me, annoyed that I disrupted her make out session. Desperate much? I stood silent with my arms crossed.
Finally, she got the hint to leave. She turned to Tyler. “I’ll see you soon. Don’t forget to st©p by later.” She win-ked at him. I rolled my eyes.
“I won’t.” Tyler responded. As soon as the girl left, I uncrossed my arms and faced Tyler fully.
“Are you crazy? Why were you ma-king out with that girl?” I asked, trying to remain calm.
“Chill, she doesn’t even go to our school.” He defended.
“She may not, but take a look around you.” I gestured at our surroundings with my hands.
“You are standing in the middle of a parking lot. Anyone could have seen you.”
“But no one did.” He stated.
“Someone could have. I can’t have that. You can’t be seen ma-king out with other girls. If people should find out that we’re fake d@t!ng, they would tag me as desperate and a liar. Can’t you keep it in your p@n-ts for once?!”
He shrugged. “I can’t help myself. I am a teenage boy and we have nee-ds to be fulfilled. She was all over me and I couldn’t just turn her down.” He grinned slyly. “I have to get la-id regularly.”
I sighed heavily and rest my head in my hands. “This was a hvge mistake.” I whispered.
“What is?”
I looked up at him again. “This! This whole fake d@t!ngthing. It was a bad idea. Maybe we should just call it quits.”
“Why?” He asked.
“Because this crazy charade is going to b!ow up in both our faces. I’m really grateful for your help, but I’m calling the deal off.”
He was about to object, but I cut him off. “Congratulations pla-yerboy, you’re free again. There’s nothing holding you back now.” I turned and walked away as I said that.
“Don’t you at least want a ride home?” He asked.
With my back still to him, I replied. “No, I’m walking home.” With that I left him standing in the parking lot.
