“So you decided to go on a date with Jose? Jess asked the moment we step into the school restaurant for Break.
“Uhmm…” I replied, we took our seat.
“But Gwen are you sure Jose isn’t trying to court you?she asked .
” No I don’t think so, he said it’s a friendly Date” I said bringing out my lunchbox, she brou-ght hers too.
” Oh so today you brou-ght your lunchbox” I teased her as I Chuckled.
“Yeah Just felt I should make some chilly recipes” she said and smirked i nodded in agreement.
” Umm…you said you wanted to tell me something right ? She asked , I gently nodded .
” Umm….Marion was very furious at me yesterday, he refused to tell me what went wrong with him and then he left ” I said she looked confused.
” Furious?are you sure it’s at you ? She aksed . I nodded .
” It should because when I excused myself to use the restroom, we were fine and then when I return he seems like his about to pounce on me ” I said and she shook her head .
” I think you’ve done something to him then” she said . I stare at her confused.
” What do you mean,i promise i didn’t do a thing” i said .
Of course I didn’t do anything to him.
“Did you stay long ? She asked .
“Of course not” I replied.
“Do you still feel anything for him? She suddenly asked and I was quite for a while , of course I still feel something for him .
” You know I do so why asking? I asked.
” Because girl I want to know how you felt the moment he looked upset at you ” she said .
And i looked at my food.
” Umm, I felt really bad like I want to touch him ” I said gently then looked up at Jess who was staring at me …
” I wanted to know what’s wrong with him ,I aksed but he ignored me and walked away ,I felt so hurt seeing him leave” I said feeling so sad for what happened yesterday it really hurt to see him leave like that . “Hmm….Gwen , have you spoken to him since today ? She Asked.
” No, ” I replied.
“Then maybe speak to him later ” she said .
” But what will I possibly tell him we don’t have clas-stoday it’s just tomorrow” I said .
“Yeah , that’s the point ,be a little friendly towards him,when you see him ask him if there will be clas-stomorrow” she said and I wriggled my eyebrows.
“But we both know already” I said .
” Common girl don’t be a dummy and do what I asked you to do ” she said rolling her eyes .
“Umm…okay ” I said quietly.
After school closed I saw Marion and his friends talking and jose too was with them i gently walked towards them once Jose and Andrew saw me they smiled .
” Hi purple” Andrew said .
“Purple Gwen ” Jose winked me Making me blus-h .
” Hi” I croaked out marion was looking everywhere but me,he didn’t even say hi .
” So you miss me already? Jose asked coming to hold my hand I felt uncomfortable and removed my hand from his ,I didn’t want Marion to see such communication and he looked as if I wasn’t even standing with them.
“Oh chill bro, give purple some space ” Andrew said and i smiled at him.
“Uumm actually i want to speak with Marion ” I said and that Moment our eyes met and we stared at each other longer than i thought before he turned his eyes from me .
“Oh babe you hurt my poor heart, ” Jose said placing his hand on his chest ,
I Chuckled “I thought you came to see me ,but in any case no problem, Andrew common lets go “Jose pulled Andrew away and jose winked me before they left .
Marion wasn’t looking at me and I gulp and step closer to him.
” Marion? I called and he turn to look at me ,our eyes met and I couldn’t control my shaking legs and hands ,gosh his eyes is so beautiful and and…and I could stare at it all day long without blinking.
” What ? He asked.
I snapped out of my thought and I swallowed. “Umm….I …I came to ask if we’d have clas-stomorrow” I said .
He was quite for a while before placing his backpack on his one shoulder well.
“Why asking?he asked in a bored tone.
So why am I asking, because Jess said I should ask ,damn me,he will think am crazy .
” Umm… because yesterday, you weren’t looking okay , you seem so angry at me if am not wrong ” I said and he stare at me asif thinking about something .
“I wasn’t angry with you and umm…about tomorrow tutorial,
I don’t think I will make it,its my sister’s birthday so probably next time”he said .
“Umm okay ….no problem” I said well Jose said our date will be tomorrow.
“Umm…I will go then” I said and he nodded we both walked to different angle at the same time .
I kept glancing back at him as I see him walking towards his car then Andrew and Jose appeared,i signed I turned to go and i bumped into someone.
“Hay can’t you see ? The girl screamed and that was when I saw its Ava Marion ex girlfriend.
” Am sorry ” I said .
“Of course you should, what were you telling my boyfriend?she asked and I was confused, which boyfriend.
“I don’t understand you “I said.
“What ? You think am blind or something?I saw you talking to Marion just now , why don’t you get it,he doesn’t date girls like you , stop going to him because your wasting your time bit-ch ” she yelled at me and I just stare at her.
“Just so you will know, I and marion already settled our differences and we are starting from the root again , he will never like you because he has me , so watch it ” she pointed her finger at my face and walked away.
I stood on my spot trying to process what just happened, Marion and Ava starting all over again, his getting back with her, I should have known he will never like me,am such a fool , but yet I can’t control my feelings towards him. I thought all those times he collects my cookie’s we were getting there but only for me to hear his getting back with his ex,
he doesn’t like me at all ,I couldn’t help the tears that slide down my cheek ,It hurts so much to like someone but the person doesn’t feel the same,maybe I have to stop this feelings i need to fight it if not I will get so bruised,i cleaned my eyes with shaking hands and left to go home .
Everything since that day has been so awkward between I and marion, he doesn’t come close to me anymore, the worse part is he doesn’t tutor me anymore, each time I asked him he gives one excuse or the other , he promised to tutor but I waited for him and I never saw him,not Just once but 3 times ,
he totally stood me up. I got so furious, I can see his avoiding me that’s the truth, he doesn’t want to tutor me anymore that’s why his dumbed me 3 times,i couldn’t help but cry well if he doesn’t want to tutor me anymore it’s okay ,it’s been over a week and his distance from me is really bad. I was heading into the clas-swhen I met Miss Kathleen.
“EuGwen where is Marion ?she asked.
“Ummm….I don’t know ma’am” I replied.
“I heard his not been tutoring you why ?she asked and I got surprised how did she find out I only told Jess about it,did she tell her .
” U.mm… nothing miss , his….”I was cut off.
“Don’t lie to me ms Rogers ” she half yelled. I looked down .
” Am sorry ” I said and she left ,
I need to speak to Jess . I saw her and Henry talking I pulled her away .
“Hay girl what’s up with you ? She asked .
“What’s up with me ? Why did you tell miss Kathleen that Marion wasn’t tutoring me anymore? I half yelled …” Don’t lie because your the only one who I told about it” I added.
She shrugged. “Am sorry girl ,I just couldn’t watch how he was treating you ,and i wanted him to pay for hurting you so I told miss Kathleen because I know she will scold him alot and who knows he will start tutoring you again ” she said smiling I rolled my eyes
“But you shouldn’t have, I don’t want him to be force doing what he doesn’t want to , you shouldn’t had told miss Kathleen anything Jess and now he will think am the one who told her he will get furious at me ” I said . ” Common girl , relax , nothing is gonna happen, he needs to be thought a lesson, just trust me girl , very soon he will start tutoring you again ” she said happily. I stare at her suspiciously.
“Hay … you’ve been advising me to keep my distance from Marion so he doesn’t think am cheap,but now you want us close , is there something your not telling me ? I asked she shrugged.
” Umm…not really,its Just that I over heard Ava speaking to her friend that she will do all she can to get back with Marion , and i know Marion isn’t interested in her anymore, but if she sees you and Marion aint close again , she will be extra ordinary happy to go closer to him ,so I had to do what I could so I told miss Kathleen about it so she could bring you two lovers together again ” she said happily as I signed and rubbed my temple.
“But Ava did say they settled and getting back together again ” I said sadly.
“And you believe the bit-ch ? Common Gwen , we all know how much Marion hates her, he will never get back to her, she’s saying it to offend you , so that’s why I had to do this “she said smiling.
” But Marion will be so furious at me ” I said .
“Forget it girl , you will thank me later for this “she winked me as I stare at her quietly. I just hope Marion doesn’t hate me for this , because I know what miss Kathleen can do.

Marion Rodriguez my office” miss Kathleen said picking her books and leaving the clas-s,why is she Calling me? Hope I haven’t done anything wrong? I picked my backpack and got up from my seat .
“Hay dude why is miss Kathleen asking of you ? Andrew Asked me. I shrugged.
“I don’t know, I will Just go find out”I said and quickly left the clas-sbut not beforeglancing at Gwen , she was avoiding looking at me and it hit me straight did she report me?
Damn fu-ck this girl , I was just giving myself space , I did everything only trying to get the burden out of my chest because i don’t know what’s wrong with me ,I
just wanted to clear up some things within me.
I hesitantly walked into miss Kathleen’s office and there she sat with my coach , just great another lecture.
“Umm…am here miss Kathleen” i said and she glared up at me , the same from my coach.
” I will just go straight to the point Marion Rodriguez, I heard that you aint tutoring EuGwen true or false? She
aksed .
I looked at her and back to my coach
who raised an eyebrow at me I faced her back
. ” Miss Kathleen is…. ”
“True or false Marion ?
She demanded cutting me off , I looked away
from her
and whispered.
” True ”
“Why ? So you disobey me now? She Asked anger visible in her voice .
” Miss Kath…… ”
“Enough Marion I gave you a simple order to tutor EuGwen,but you can’t do it and disobey me , am I that
little ? She asked.
Damn I hate when she gets angry anything can happen. “Umm…no but….”
” Am shorting your grade” she informed and my eyes snapped wide trying to process what she just said . “Wha… what…you …you can’t do that ? I try not to yell.
” Oh yes I can, so maybe you will have to reconsider if you still want to graduate this year “she said daring me.
oh my God she can’t do this to me.
” But miss Kathleen i….. ”
“Marion you heard her,i also told you i will remove you as the head team,and your removed “he said and my
backpack fell, I was shocked.
” What the hell, you both can’t treat me like this, you know how important my grade and being the
basketball team leader is , you both know my value you know without me it’s useless , I’ve made our team win Severally and also am one of the best students here infact the top best and you both will Just decrease my grade and unmake Me because í refused to help someone out ?”
” It’s because we know your the best that’s why we a-ssigned you to tutor Gwen , that girl is smart she just
needs a little push up , you should be happy your given such opportunity for your intelligence” my coach Mr Wilson said ,
I closed my eyes tightly and opened them .
” I see, so she told you I wasn’t tutoring her anymore, that’s why you just removed me as the team head right ? And you too miss Kathleen, you what to decrease my grade ? Just because of this ? ” I questioned and I looked at the both of them .
” Fine am sorry I stopped tutoring her , I was just busy that’s why I will make it up , I will teach her everyday please just give me back the head team and miss
Kathleen don’t decrease my grade I promise I will teach her ” I said looking at them both.
They stare at each other .
” Marion, you got your post back , and your grade won’t be decreased, you will graduate this year and also keep your promise” Mr Wilson said .
I took in a de-ep breath.
” Thank you ,I promise”I said
they both nodded and i picked my backpack and left the office.
Where is that fu-ckin girl , I need to teach her lesson, I spot her and Jess talking and I walked towards them, when her eyes caught mine she started walking away I
followed her untill she was about entering the
washroom i grab her and spin her around to
face me .
She gasped and our face was suddenly close I already raised my finger ready to lash at her but I stood still staring into her beautiful brown eyes , she too was doing the same and I quickly released her hand and
stepped back .
” Umm…am sorry about that ” I apologize and she just stared at me . Well I have to tell her what I need to tell her .
“Umm…you know, you shouldn’t had actually reported” I said and she looked emotionless,
she acted like she didn’t care and i frowned.
“Well…it’s okay tho …once school closes meet me at the café let’s continue” I said and turned to leave when she spoke.
” Am busy I don’t Think i can come ” she said and i turned to look at her.
” Why ? What are you doing? I asked .
” I have somewhere important need to be after school” she simply replied I rubbed my temple.
” Where exactly are you going, how important is it than tutorial? I Asked.
” It’s very important because I have a date ” she
said casually and my eyes widen but I immediately composed myself.

Thinking about her all the time, and it hurts me thinking she’s out with another guy, I don’t fu-ckin know but I couldn’t help the feeling,.
No I don’t want to fall for her I really don’t want to but why does it hurt so much . I close my eyes and calm myself then opened it again looking at her .
” Ummm…ok, what about tomorrow am sure your less busy tomorrow” I said she shrugged.
” I don’t know yet, but I’d let you know about it ” she said I nodded and left ,
God am so upset, she’s going on a date with Jose again.
This isn’t funny , it’s been three days now and each time I wait for Gwen at the café And today she still isn’t here , is she avoiding me gosh what if Miss Kathleen or coach finds out I will be removed as the head team and my grade will be decreased, why is Gwen doing this ? Is she doing this on purpose? I angrily went back to school am sure she’s still around
, yes she just pa-ssed with her bicycle but she didn’t see me I quickly got into my car and followed her gently so she won’t see me ,
Once we reached a building she entered the compound and i got out of my car and hurried after her , she was trying to get inside .
” Gwen ” I called and she looked back,her eyes widen
with shock.

This is a dream , Marion is here , I quickly walked towards him as we met ourselves half way .
“What are you doing here ? I aksed him looking back if I’d see Susan or aunty Emily.
” You of course, I noticed you’ve been avoiding me. I
Waited at the café today again but you didn’t show up ” he said sounding mad.
I wanted to laugh out but I laughed it in,i made my face
serious.
” Of course why should I come , I told you I will be busy during this week ” I said sternly.
” But you ain’t now, tell me are you doing this because I stood you up the last time ? He Asked.
Thinking about that made me so upset .
“Well you didn’t care isn’t that why you never showed up, you would had Just said you hate me and don’t want to tutor me, than Just avoiding me like a plague, how do you feel now being avoided ? I asked angrily.
He was surprised as he stared at me quietly he rubbed
his long hair and the back of his neck and looked at me, i could see his trying his best to say something.
” Ok fine …am really sorry okay ,look we need to start this tutorial again, my education is at stake here , I don’t want miss Kathleen to decrease my grade and
niether be removed as the basketball team leader, please Gwen am begging you ” he said
I felt bad for him that instant he looked really sad .
” Can we just put the past behind us, maybe we can be friends” he said and my eyes widen did he Just ? Oh my gosh did Marion just asked me to be his friend?
“I know your shock, but it’s better we be Friends so
we’ll stop trying to shake out each other’s head ” he said and i suddenly chuckled an he smiled , oh my God he smiled at me for the very first time . I suddenly became shy .
” So are we friends? He asked and i gently nodded ,
oh my gosh I hope this isn’t a dream, I Feel like jumping right now he smirked.
” Good then , can I have your number ? He aksed and
I nodded , I remove my bag brou-ght out my book and wrote my number on it then handed it to him.
” Thanks Gwen , I’d call you 8.pm ” he said
“Umm okay ” I said and he turned and walked away , my eyes are wide like razor…oh my God tell me am dreaming, I slap my cheek , it’s not a dream .
“Oh my God , yes..ahhhhhhhhhh” I screamed jumping up ,I quickly rushed inside so I could call Jess .
Marion is my friend like real , it’s not a fu-ckin dream , I can’t wait for 8.pm .
