❇David’s POV❇
I arrived home but Delphine wasn’t there, my heart was already beating fast-er. I know for sure she was at home earlier.
“hey David, someone picked her up,” Jigs said, he has been our neighbor and my friend since we packed into the small apartment.
“who? i asked already scared.
“i guess it Mil.. Milton her friend, he forcefully dragged her to his car, i really don’t want to involve myself in any mess, they just left a minute ago,” he said, i quickly dropped my books and headed outside,
i get a cab to take me to Milton’s house, it was already getting dark, my eyes were full with tears, i really don’t know why mom and grandma will leave us in this mess. I looked throu-ghthe window and saw black car packed at one side of the road, the car look familiar i guess it Milton’s car, i quickly paid the cab man and get down, i saw Milton who get down from the car to make a call, i picked up a ha-rd dirty wood i found on the ground, slowly tiptoe and moved behind him then hit him so hard.
“David!, he yelled and i guess he’s surprise to see me, i hit him again and he fall to the ground i quickly opened the car door and was surprise to see Delphine lying almost lifeless i was so disappointment in Milton, i quickly carried her on my shoulders and stop a cab immediately i put her in and we quickly hurried home. I was so scared to stay in that house again, Jigs decided to lean us one of his empty room so we could sleep their for the main time.
?Delphine’s POV?

⏭️ I slowly open my eyes and found myself in a strange room but i left relief when i saw David seated next to me holding my hands.
“are you okay, did he hurt you? he immediately asked. My vision was still blur, i felt so weak and my head was aching me, i close my eyes back to sleep.
Milton woke up early that morning with a strong headache.
“fu-ck David, how dare he rescue Delphine, how dare he hurt me this way,” Milton said with a teary eyes as he touched his back and wai-st and could feel much pains, he tried to stand up but couldn’t. The door went opened and a young girl entered.
“you fail it, but am giving you one more chance again,” she smiled then sat down beside him.
“this time David will pay for doing this to me,” he said.
❇Delphine’s POV❇
It been three days now i have been lying all day on bed, i still felt so weak and wonder what type of drug Milton injected in me, i couldn’t stop crying thinking about what Milton has turn to. Why won’t he be liked Clark, cos even when Clark truly loves me then and i turn him down he didn’t turn out to be a bad person to me. I sat down when David walked in with a plate of white rice and sauce.
“this the only thing we have for now,” he said as he sat down beside me.
“thank you so much David, thank you for saving me from Milton,” i said in tears.
“we should thank Jigs for telling me that on time and for sparing us his room to stay in for a while.
“if only mom and grandma is still alive they’ll never allow us suffer this way,” i said in tears.
⏭️ It been a week now i recovered and go back to school not to miss any of my lectures, i have lose so much weight, much thinking, my mind is not always at peace again.
I arrived home one evening without seeing David, well i wasn’t that worried because he usually goes out with Jigs atimes. I laid restless on the mat, it already ten pm, i went to check on Jigs who was in his room, my heart skip a bit.
“what about David? i asked him.
“that’s what i wanted to ask you, i haven’t seen him after school,” he said and i could feel my heart bleeding in pains already.
“i’ve been calling him but he isn’t picking up,” i said while Jigs quickly stood up.
“what could have happen to David? he asked in shocked.
❇The next morning, i was already dressed to go and look for my brother and Jigs has decided to help me out, i heard my phone rang and i checked on the caller which was a private number. I picked up the call.
“Your brother is here with us and we only need two million to set him free. Two million in just three days,” the unknown voice said. When i heard that i wasn’t able to say anything, my eyes were already filled with much tears.
“Delphine, you need to help me get out of this place,” i could here David saying that from the phone which make me cried the more.
“i’ll do everything to get you out of their David,” i said wiping away my tears. I sat down on the couch, holding my head.
“hey, what’s up, is he kidnapped? why are people against you this much, why not go back to your father,” Jigs said while i raise my head then looked at him still in tears.
❇ Morgan eyes became red when he realise he will be death in just some few minutes by the plane crash. He was traveling to Brazil for some business reasons.
The anterior part of the airplane appeared in the sky like a fish with fins, the plane roared across the sky overhead the farmland and vanish beyond the trees. There were several cracking sound as the crashing plane came in contact with branches of trees and made a whooshing sound. The smoke diffused away completely except for the stench of gases in the air.
⏭️ Maria was done with the urgent phone call, Nicole was seated to her.
“my plan worked out, they had a plane crash,” she smiled.
“really? Nicole asked.
“Morgan is death in a plane crash, no survivor has been found,” she said while Nicole smiled.
“you’re so smart, now you’ll have all the money you want including me, then it time you do as my mom said, you’ll be more rich now and have all that belongs to him,”
“once i have got what i want, am traveling back to US to start a new life with his money, now that Livvy is death her children, i will make sure her children suffers,” Maria smiled.
⏭️A day later, the death of Morgan Murphy has been spread round the news and social media, it was such a great lost to the nation and most especially to his company.
?Delphine’s POV?
I decided to go back to dad, to beg for help, if it means to stay in the same house with Maria i will, i don’t know where else to get two million but i need to help David out, i stopped in a nearby shop to get some water to drink and was shocked by what i saw in the television, i stood for while unable to say anything. Dad is dead? in a plane crash, what a shocking news. I sat down on the floor their and cried out my eyes. What does that means, am now an orphan with no family. I know i haven’t been getting alone with my dad but i never wish him death, such a painful death like this. Why would life has to take away everyone from me.
I later checked the time which was already five pm, while i haven’t even gotten a dime to rescue David, i hurried back home and picked few of my clothes with David own to sell them, i have to sell some of my expensive textbooks to some of the students who want it. This have been a tough time, if only Milton is still a good person he would have help me out.
❇Maria was seated with Morgan’s lawyer to call out his will.
“20% goes to you, his wife while 40% each goes to his two children Delphine and David,” the lawyer called out while Maria was surprise to hear that.
“but am his wife, i don’t get you, i can’t just have the least shares,” she said.
“then is left for you,” the lawyer said.
“no, his two children are death, they’re nowhere to be found since their mother died and beside am his wife,” she complained.
“no, it has already been written,”
“then let make a deal, a simple deal, i just want you to help me out, because i can’t have the smallest share,” she smiled.
Delphine’s POV❇
The kidnappers called again and told me to meet them at the beach, i wonder why we have to meet at the beach. Am so worried because i couldn’t afford the exact money they asked for, i have to sell my iphone to get much money, that the phone i have been using ever since i was with my dad, remembering about dad’s death break my heart the more.
Jigs decided to go with me to the beach to give them what i have, even thou is still not complete, we arrived there, the place seems so quiet and calm. We kept the money on a table as the ask us to do and they told us earlier not to involve police in this, Jigs insisted we call the police but i refuse, i couldn’t bar-e it if i lose David again.
Later on, a car stop by and a man dressed with black shirt and trouser with a black boot, wearing on a mask walked and carried the money to his car. The man pushed David out of the car with his hands tied.
“David,” i smile as tears ran down my cheeks, i ran to help him up but i was surprise when the man shoot David.
“right in front of me, David was shoot two times at the back, he fall down in a pool of his blood. The man quickly carried David lifeless and threw him into the sea, he entered back the car and zoomed off without saying anything to me. I guess they were about three people in the car but i don’t know who they are because they were all wearing on mask.
I ran check on David then fall to ground.
“David.. David..! i cried out and i could hear my voice echoing. Jigs quickly jumped inside the sea in search of him. After an minutes, he came out looking so sad and drenched.
“where’s David? i asked him.
“those people trick us, after collecting your money they still have to kill your brother,” he said.
“David is death? Da…vid,” i yelled in tears, i was still seated staring at the sea.
“Delphine, you need to go home it getting late, something bad might happen to you here,” i heard Jigs said that but i refuse to moved an inch, my eyes were fixed at the sea, am still waiting for David to come back to me and i keep having imaginations of that.
“if i have to spent the rest of my life here, then i’ll do that just to wait for my brother,” i lamented for such a very long time and this for once i know am knock out by fate.. I just want to die because i don’t know what else am living for without my family..
