Episode 31
After the morning mas-s, Kim left clarissa to wait in the car, that is the one reason she hate going to church with her sister, she acts like an old woman, anytime the mas-s come to an end, clarissa must stay back to greet almost the entire church before she would come outside.
kimberly was grateful when she finally saw her sister coming out from the church, she did sigh of the cross “oh my God, finally here she comes” she said opening her bag to take her phone.
Clarissa wasn’t looking at her front so she ran into a man that was entering the church for the second mas-s.
her bag fell and she bend down to pick the bag apologizing to the fellow.
CLARISSA
I’m so sorry, I wasn’t looking….
she said picking her bag from the ground and lifting up her head to look at the man.
her sorry face was immediately replace with shock, she couldn’t believe her eyes, if anyone had told her she would meet Benjamin after how many years she would have doubted it.
the look on benjamin’s face showed that he was trying to remember where he had seen the face before.
Clarissa noticed he didn’t even rerecognized him so she swallowed ha-rd and for-ced a smile
CLARISSA
please forgive me for running into you.
she said and started to walk fastly to where she parked her car.
she had almost reached her car when benjamin remembered who she was, “holy Moses, that can’t be Clarissa is it”?
he asked himself and ran after clarissa.
BENJAMIN
clarissa?
CLARISSA
(She turned)
Hi Benjamin, I see you finally figure out where you knew the face from.
That was the confirmation Ben nee-ded to be sure it was truly Clarissa, he pulled her into an awkward hu-g, but clarissa pulled away immediately.
BENJAMIN
oh my God, I can’t believe this
CLARISSA
what can’t you believe? that I’m alive or that you saw me after running away without a word?
BENJAMIN
You look so beautiful and different…. honestly I’m happy to see you again after so many years.
CLARISSA
Good of you….do have a lovely day.
she said and headed closer to her car, but Benjamin grabbed her arm.
BENJAMIN
I am really sorry the way things ended between us clarissa and if you would give me the chance to explain myself, I will be very happy.
CLARISSA
(She sm-irk)
no nee-d dear, I totally un-derstand why you had to move out from your old house without a word, why you had to change your lines…there’s nothing to explain.
BENJAMIN
You can’t judge me without hearing my side of the story would you?
CLARISSA
whatever it is, you are forgiven so if you don’t mind I will like to be excused.
BENJAMIN
Can I have you number please?
CLARISSA
I don’t think that would be necessary ben
BENJAMIN
please Clarissa, for old time sake.
Clarissa who has this weakness for love couldn’t refuse Ben anymore, she called out her number for him and walked away.
Benjamin saved the number and went into the church.
All throu-ghKim was looking at there from the car, she saw the figure and something in her told her it was someone she knows but she wasn’t too sure so she waited for Clarissa to open the car and come in.
KIMBERLY
One of the reasons I hate coming to church with you is that you are too modest, you greet like an age witch.
CLARISSA
(She laughed)
I’m sorry, you know it’s been long I last came to church, everyone are trying to know why a d how come of my new transformation.
KIMBERLY
whatever….beside who is that guy I saw you calling your number out for?
CLARISSA
oh that’s Ben
KIMBERLY
Ben? Ben? as in you mean Benjamin? same old? same old?
CLARISSA
(She giggles)
yeah, same Benjamin
KIMBERLY
Are you stupid? why give your number to him? wait, I’m sure he must have told you he can explain why he had to relocate without telling you and why he had to change his number because of you.
CLARISSA
he said it’s a long story
KIMBERLY
(She laughed bitterly)
and you fu**ing believed him? when will you grow up Rissa? I put it to you that Benjamin only stopped to greet you because he saw how different you now look.
CLARISSA
that’s not what happened okay, we ran into each other, and he remembered me.
KIMBERLY
can you just start this car and take me out of here please?
CLARISSA
why are you so upti-ght Kim, we can’t just judge the young man without hearing his own side of the story.
KIMBERLY
it’s your life, you can do whatever you want with it….plesse take me home I’m very hungry.
Clarissa started the car and drove away.
the drive from church to the house was quiet, Clarissa tried talking to Kim but she was too pissed to answer her.
they arrived home, Kim came down to open the gate for Rissa to drive in.
immediately she locked the gate she walked to rissa’s car and took her hand bag and went inside.
Clarissa took her bag too and went inside.
CLARISSA
babe I don’t know why you are acting up, I gave Benjamin my number so what? is not like we are back together or something.
KIMBERLY
I already told you to let this discussion slide right?
CLARISSA
I’m not gonna let it slide okay, we both went to church this morning looking very happy, only to return home sad.
KIMBERLY
And that’s my fault? when will you start acting like an adult? when we you realize that nobody loves you? they are all trying to use you for their own gain….you think I don’t know you? from giving out number, you will go out on a date, before you realize it Benjamin is already back in your life to hurt you again….when will you stop showing yourself like you are desperate
for love? someone who left you for good five years and just showed from no where, he knows your place doesn’t he? if indeed he wanted to see you he would have come to your place to look for you, but he didn’t because he doesn’t care and doesn’t want to have anything to do with you. But because he saw a new clarissa looking all clas-sy and beautiful his asking for number….i think is high time you start using that shit you call br@in.
CLARISSA
I take exception to that Kim, stop calling me names.
KIMBERLY
you know what? I can’t deal with you shit right now….. I’m out of here.
she said and walked into Clarissa’s bedroom, she picked her bag and left.
immediately she opened the living room door she met Derrick at the door, she knew he has been listening to their conversation since, she ignored him and she walked out on him.
Derrick who came visiting that morning after Marcel had called him the previous night to tell him how unplease he was with the character he display at Clarissa’s house decided to come see his brother so he could apologize, but Marcel told him to apologise to Kim and Rissa not to him.
immediately he heard their car drove into the compound Marcel told him to go apologize before they will go inside but he wasn’t quick enough, the girls had entered before he got to where they parked their car….he was about knocking at the door when he heard them arguing and he decided to stay and listen.
After Kim caught him standing behind the door, he didn’t know who to console, to him he felt Kim was too harsh on clarissa, and in the other hand he felt all what Kim said was the truth.
He rushed back to his brother’s flat and picked his car keys
DERRICK
I will be back bro, and if I don’t come back here again, I will call you.
(he said rushing out)
MARCEL
wait, what’s going on? where are you going to?
DERRICK
Go and see clarissa, I’m sure she nee-ds you right now..
that got marcel more confuse, he got up and rushed outside to meet Derrick, but Derrick was already driving out of the compound without locking the gate.
he had to go and lock the gate then headed to clarissa’s door to check up in her.
