EMMA POV
I went back to the palace feeling worried, Would Alicia really try to take Brian from me and what was she Talking about a while ago?
What was she saying about me having done some thing to her,have never seen her before neither would I have wronged her,I thought.
I was so de-ep in thought that I didnt notice that William was standing by the door
“Worried about what my sister said?”he asked and I stared at him
“Am not worried at all,I know my husband and am sure that he will always be loyal to me,He loves me and he won’t want to see me hurt!”I replied
“Really? Men can’t be trusted”He said
“Not my husband, he will certainly not give me a reason to doubt him”I said and he laughed
“And do you know where he is right now? Do you know what he is doing? It might not even be with Alicia,He might just be with some one else”He said
“Enough! I will ask you to st©p telling me such lies Mr Ray,You are here to work and that’s all,So I suggest you face your job and mind your darn business”I turned to leave only to feel a bit queasy.
I could feel that I was catching a cold alre-ady,After being in the rain last night,I had began to feel its effect this morning but I payed no attention to it
I wanted to tell Brian about it but it but he had alre-ady left for work
Instead I went to see Alicia,No one noticed that I looked a bit pale or that I was sick .
I staggered a bit only to feel some one holding me by my w@!st
And it was none other than William “Got sick after throwing your self in the rain last night ?”He said
“Just ……mind your business,I can do this myself “I said pushing his hands away
I walked ahead and fell on the floor,I tried standing up but William was there beside me,pu-lling me up
“You really are a fool”He said lifting me into his arms
I was feeling so cold that I clung to him,I didnt know where he was taking me and I did not care, All I just want right now is to l@ydown some where, Cause if I don’t I might faint and that’s one thing I don’t want
Holding onto his n£¢k,I snuggled closer and he held me close
I was shivering by the time he got to my room
“Call for the doctor,Her highness is sick”I heard him Say to some one but I had no idea who it was and I didn’t bother asking
He layed me on the be-d and I knew that he had brou-ght me to my room
The sheets still smelled of Brian,I thought as I snuggled into the be-d
He used the sheets to cover me up and throu-gh the shivering and pain,I could hear what was going on in the back ground
“We weren’t able to get the doctor sir “I heard Some one say
“Then get another doctor,Her highness is seriously sick”I heard William say
“We can’t do that,The royal family only have one royal doctor and that is the person we just called now,We just can’t call any doctor sir”
“So we sit here and wait ,What if some thing worse happens?”He asked
“I will try to get his majesty,He will know what to do”He said
“No! First get me some clean water and clean towel” He said and quic-kly they went off to get it .
He took my hand in his and muttered gently “you will be fine okay! You will”He said.
The last thing I remember Saying Before I lost consciousness was that he should help me get Brian
“Call him here…..plea-se…….”I said before closing my eyes to shut out the world.
I opened my eyes to find myself still in my room.
There was a towel on my fore head, I no longer felt cold and dizzy,it’s like Ave been cured,I thought as I kept on starring around
I moved to get up only to realise that some one was beside me on the be-d
The stranger had his hand clasped with mine and he sat on the be-d beside me, He was very close, I thought as I turned a bit to stare at who it was.
It turned out to be William, He sat on the be-d beside me and he was asleep.
But How come? Why is he still here? I remember that he had been the one who brou-ght me to my room but Brian would have been back to take his place beside me right? I thought as I gently tried to pu-ll my hand from his hold
That was a wrong move because he opened his eyes and he turned to stare down at me
“Oh you are awake! Are you okay now?”He asked as he stood up, Losing our clutched hands in. The process
“Yes I am,What time is it?”I asked gently
“Just past seven” He said
“So have been Unconscious for over nine hours?”I asked
“You were really sick,You have no idea what your situation put the whole staff and I throu-gh”He said
“Really? Was I that much of a has-sle?”I asked starring at him
“Some thing like that”He replied gently
“Why didn’t you just leave after the doctor c@m£,I would have been fine”I said gently
” the doctor never showed up”He said
“So who ………”I let the questions drift off,waiting for him to answer me
“I did,As it turns out Brian was phoned and he said he will be here soon but he hasn’t show up, Like wise the doctor so I had to use the little training I was taught and judging by your state now,I can say that I did well”He said moving towards me to t©uçh my fore head
“It was so tiring Your Highness”He said smiling at me
“Am sorry for having been bother some,You should have just left me on……….”
“Shhhhhhh……….. you shouldn’t be saying sorry,You should be thanking me”He said putting a f!nger on myl-ips
“Thanking you for what?”Brian asked suddenly and we both turned to stare at him
quic-kly I moved away while he did the same thing
“Brian I……..”
“I just asked a question right? Why should my wife be thanking you?”He asked the second time and there was no doubt that he was angry.
BRIAN POV
I had been on the plane which was taking me to Athens for a very important meeting.
That was where I had got the call that Emma was very ill and that though they had called the doctor,The doctor could not make it due to some problem.
As soon as I got the news,I was so worried that I cancelled the important trip and head back home
But due to the bad weather,I was told to wait a couple of hour
While I wait I tried to call home but ap@rt from having a bad weathered,I also had a bad service.
Seems like luck isn’t on my side,I thought as I thought of Emma.
I wondered how she might be feeling with out me by her side
I longed to know how she is but there was no way, I thought as I stared at my PA who also kept calling home and still kept on getting the bad weathered message.
I felt so Inadequate, My wife nee-ded me and yet here I am not by her side.
I should have waited for her to wake up,I should have known that the rain from last night would have its effects.
As soon as the weather was clear and we were able to fly back,I got into the plane and they wasted no time In taking me back home
It was early evening that I returned home and I went straight to Emma only to st©p when I heard William talking to her.
“Shhhhh………..you shouldn’t be saying sorry, you should be thanking me “He said and when I saw that his f!ngerswas placed on my wifel-ips,I walked in looking very angry.
“Thanking you for what?”I asked as I watched the two of them
Just seeing him close to Emma made me so mad,I don’t know why but I don’t like it when a man gets close to her most especially a h0t blooded man like William ray
“I was just thanking him for helping me,”she replied
“For what?”i asked only starring at william
“For being by her side,Watching over her, some thing that should have been done by you” He said starring at me
quic-kly I walked towards him and pu-ll-ed him by his shi-t
“Brian!”I heard Emma call my name but I was so angry and jealous that I wasn’t thinking right
I stared at William and saw him smiling at me,Seems like he knows what he is doing and causing.
I thought as I held his shi-t ti-ghtly again,re-ady to punch his face if necessary.

EMMA POV
Knowing what might happen if I don’t do any thing,I quic-kly scrambled out of be-d and ran towards them holding Brian
“St©p it plea-se”I said as I pushed him back and he did let him go and I felt so relieved
“What I was trying to say your majesty,Is that you should have been here when her highness was sick” William said straightening his shi-t
“And who told you that I didn’t want to be here? You make it sound like I intentionally didn’t come home”Brian said
“Oh did I ? Well then am sorry if it had sounded that way,I didn’t mean to offend you or her highness” he said bowing
“Just leave , Get out”Brian yelled at him and with one last stare my way,He walked off
I moved away from Brian feeling very angry, ap@rt from him being late,He also had to act like a j£rk to some one who took care of me
“You didn’t have to be harsh towards him”I said angrily
“Didn’t you hear what he just said ”
“Was he wrong about it? Where were you when I was sick? Where were you when he stayed to take care of me? You weren’t here by my side Brian,Some one else was and that is what makes you angry” I said
“So you also think that I intentionally didn’t show up”He asked
“I don’t know! You explain,Tell me where you had been when I nee-ded you “I said
“What’s the ess£nce of telling you when you have drawn up your own conclusion”He said and with that he left the room.
Feeling sick a little,I went to sit down on the be-d.
This is the first fight we will be having since a while now
If only Brian hadn’t react that way, If only he had acted more reasonably,I would have believed him
The reason for his lateness certainly had to be Alicia, He just didn’t know how to tell me,That was why he had gotten angry.i thought sadly.
WILLIAM POV
I walked throu-gh the path that led me out of the palace.
I stood thinking about Dora,what is happening right now with her darn husband,I thought as I remembered what took place between us when she was high with the fever
“Don’t go,plea-se,Don’t go”she said when I first stood up to leave
I tried to leave again because I nee-ded to get the towel that I will use for her but she held my hand
And Having no option,I sat down and held her hand in return
I stared at her for a very long time,soaking in her beauty,Even when I had met her years ago,I never thought that she will grow up to be this beautiful
She really took after her mom,Her mom was just as beautiful as her,I thought as I held her hand ti-ghtly.
Just then she began to m0@n again ,Crying in her sleep,Seems like she is having a bad night mare
“plea-se Mommy,don’t leave me,plea-se”She said holding my hand ti-ghtly
“You must have gone throu-gh a lot”I whispered gently
“But am here now and am re-ady to protect you Dora, and I won’t let any one hurt or harm you again”I vowed gently
“Stay with me plea-se,Stay with me”She said as she tugged my hand.
Standing up I sat down on the be-d and held her hand ti-ghtly
She st©pped shaking and she didn’t let my hand go
Being so close to her,Some thing have always dreamed for for years,I couldn’t resist the temptation
I bent slowly and k!$$£d herl-ips, a brief t©uçh of myl-ips on hers.
Have always watched her from a distance and each time I see her,I always wondered how herl-ips would feel on mine and now that I know I crave for more.
Am going to take it slow,Get her to trust me and be my friend and then when am sure that she trust me completely,I will tell her the whole truth,Let’s see how Brian handle it then,I thought.
I got to where my car was parked and was about to enter when I heard Brian calling me
I turned and stared at him “what can I do for you your majesty”I said
“What is your deal with my wife,Why do you keep on hanging around her “He asked starring at me
“I wouldn’t be hanging around her if you were there, Yesterday she had gone out of her to surprise you,Yet you stood her up ,You didn’t figure that she being in the rain might have a consequence, She c@m£ back from the hospital looking pale,She could ha-rd ly walk,I had to carry her to her room and to t©p it all up, The royal doctor wasnt around to care for her,I had to do it all on my own,You shouldn’t be attacking me,You should be thanking me your majesty” I said
“Very well then,Thank you and as you leave,Don’t ever come back”He said
“What?
“You heard me,You are no longer nee-ded here,I hired you only because They told me that you are the best but you keep on sticking your nose In what is none of your concern”he said
“You can’t just fire me like that”I said
“I just did”He replied
“And all this is because you are jealous?”I asked and he starred at me with anger
“Well am sorry your majesty,I won’t leave! we have a signed contract and am going to fulfil it”I added
“A sign what?”
“Seems like your PA didn’t tell you any thing right? Its best that you ask him,I will be here tomorrow to begin”I said and got into the car and then I left the palace.
If he thinks he can keep me away from Dora then he is wrong,She is the only reason why am here and she will be the only reason why I stay.
EMMA POV
“your Highness,you look a bit sad,is some thing troubling your mind”Grace the only maid whom I trust and confide in asked
“Yes some thing is troubling me”,I replied as I stared at her
“Did you have a fight with his Majesty”She asked
“Yes,A small row”I replied as she helped me to comb my hair
“You can tell me about it,I might be of help”She said
“Help?how?”I asked
“You can get it off your che-st,Keeping some thing in you is not good”She said
She was right,I nee-ded to talk to some one,I thought as I stared at her
“I had a fight with his majesty”I said
‘but why?”
“Well he wasn’t around when I was sick and even when he knew,He didn’t show up,Not until this evening and by then I was okay again”I replied
“And do you know why he wasn’t around” Grace asked
“What else,He was busy as usual”i replied
“But that was not what I heard from his PA”Grace said
“What did you hear then?”I asked
“That they were both caught up in Athens, His majesty was travelling to Athens but when he got the call that you were sick, He decided to come back but due to the bad weather they had to wait”She said
“Really? Is that what happened'”I asked as. Stared at her
“That’s what James told me ,did you ask him what he had been doing when he c@m£ back this evening”Grace asked
“I didn’t,I Just jumped into conclusion and he didn’t bother to correct me about it”I said feeling guilty
“Well then your Highness,I think you have an apology to make”Grace said smiling
“But he was so angry when he left the room,Saying sorry wouldn’t do”I said
“Then do some thing,I don’t know,Prepare a dinner surprise or buy him a gift and say sorry,All that is important is that you ask for his forgiveness and make him see that you are genuine with it”Grace said
“You are right, an apology and also a ro-mantic dinner,You will help me with it right”I asked and she nodded.
BRIAN POV
“If you look closely your Majesty,You will see that the contract is real and that you signed it your self”
“I know my hand writing okay and as you have explained,I know that am the one who signed it”I said
“And you must also know that there is no way we can cancel the contract”James said
“There has to be a way,I don’t want him to be my architect anymore “I said
I dont like the guy,He is always around Emma and that gets me angry,I don’t want him near Emma,I thought
“But we have signed a two year contract with him,We can cancel it,He might sue us and the last thing we want right now is any problem”James said
“,So I have to let him work for two years in the palace”I asked
“For as long as it takes to finish doing the house and what caused the change of mind, just Yesterday you were plea-sed with his work your majesty”James said
“That was yesterday but it’s different today,is there really not a way to get rid of him”I asked
“Am sorry your majesty but we can’t do any thing”He said
Just then there was a knock on the door and Grace, Emma personal maid walked in
“What’s wrong?”I asked
“Her Highness wishes to see you your majesty”She said bowing
Why does she want to see me,I thought as I kept on starring at her
“Tell her I will be with her soon”I replied
“She won’t be waiting in her room your majesty,She asked me to bring you to where she is” she said
“And where is she?”I asked
“Its not some thing I can tell you your majesty,You just have to see it for your self” She replied
I felt intrigued,I wanted to know what Emma is planning though I was still mad at her for choosing to jump into the wrong conclusion
“Fine then take me to her”I said
