Chapter Forty Nine :
Zoe
Yawning I stretch my hands wide, sit up and cover my face for awhile, standing up I move to the bathroom, take off my pajamas, turn on the shower. I blink then stare at my reflection in the mirror
What happen to my hair ” Ahhhh!!!!!” I had no idea when I yell, my hair has lines of golden in them and my blue eyes have stars shining in them. What’s happening
Turning off the shower I rush out of my room, put on a blue jeans and white crop top, my throat suddenly feel dry, am thirsty. Grabbing my phone I went downstairs ” hi may”
” happy twentieth birthday Zoe!!!” She scream and I chuckle at how happy she is. My throat has never felt this dry ” I will call you back okay” hanging up I fasten my steps to the dining room
Ares,Xar and Zar sat there quietly, my gaze met Ares, he didn’t smile, he looked strange ” am thirsty ” muttering I grab a bottle of water, gulp everything down but the dryness still there ” here” Ares hand me a cu-p of blood, I furrow my brows ” drink it, you will feel better ”
I shook my head and step back ” what are you saying, am not a vampire, am human “I mumble, looking at the three men who sat so calmly waiting for a storm. Ares stood up, gulp down the blood, cu-p my face and kis-s me, forcing me to drink from his mouth
Withdrawing I cough, my throat feels better ” what’s happening Ares, my hair, my eyes, I look….” Holding my stomach I frown, do I really need to go to the toilet right now, the feeling stopped when Ares step closer, my body moved backwards on its own
” little mouse?? ” his voice fill with worry, it seems like I don’t want to stay with him right now. What’s wrong with me ” are you okay ”
” she needs to be with her kind Ares, the pain will be too much for her” Zar muttered, his gaze not meeting mine, who are my people, what are they talking about
” you fu-ck ing know I can’t do that shit, taking her there will be an big issue ” Ares muttered but before he turn to face me am already in my room, when did I get that fast
I take off my clothes and went back to the bathroom, my heart is beating so fast and am sweating even when everywhere is chilled ” little mouse!! ” Ares voice echo in the halls as he approach ” do you want me to stay with you right now ”
” No” I yell, my back break a little and I frown, my ne-ck hurts, my legs feels weak so do my hands. Falling to the floor I coughed blood ” what’s happening to me ” blood seem to be flowing out of my nose continuously and I can’t stop it, I might lose all my blood…..
My back break once more as I scream, feels like my bones and reforming themselves ” Zoe!!” Ares break the room door open but when he try entering the bathroom the door close it self
Why is everything pushing Ares from me ” Ahhhhh” my whole back break into two, the pain was too much ” Ares!!!” I couldn’t stop coughing anymore
” fu-ck , am coming ” he kept hitting the door but it isn’t opening. Giving up I fall and lay on the ground, receiving all the pains and suddenly I couldn’t breath, it felt like am being thrown into a de-eper ocean drowning
Coughing I had no idea what to do, all I know was that am gonna die anytime soon, is this why Ares was scared about my birthday day. My hands move to the door, I try opening it but it won’t listen
My whole body is beginning to lose life and with one loud scream, a bright light actually shine from my heart then all I could see was stars

Covering her body with the blanket I stare at her, her face pale, her heart not beating, her hair has several touch of golden in them ” she needs her mate blood ” Zar muttered, my hands clench together, my mark was no longer on her ne-ck, how did that happen ” we need Fred Ares”

” are you listening to yourself, something’s aren’t meant to be, is either Fred or you get one of the descendants here to feed her with their blood ” worry in Zar eyes ” Zoe is like a sister to me and I won’t let her die because of pride” I watch him step out of the room, my gaze travel back to Zoe
Why do people keep saying we aren’t meant to be, why has my soul bond vanish from you Zoe, are you also rejecting me, do I really need to bring Fred here to give you his blood
For him to connect his li-ps with your mouth and let you drain from him. Do I need to watch all these happen ” life has always been unfair ” with that I turn around, grab my jacket and out of the house I went

Looking around I frown a bit before I gaze land on him cultivating his stamina, his legs fold and his hands place on it while his eyes turn pure white ” I need your help ” I muttered the moment I walk right up to him
Silence reply me for awhile before he spoke ” you know its horrible to disturb Someone cultivating ” he made no move in standing up
” if I hated you I will push you right this minute resulting in your death or make you powerless like those weak humans ” I was losing patience ” like I said I need your help ”

I exhale ” Zoe is in danger, she needs your blood right now ” his eyes turn to that of worry ” today is her birthday ” he asked and I nod ” shit and no one told me about that” I watch him hurry to his shirt, put it on and off we went

Swallowing I stood at the entrance to Zoe room, Fred move forward, climb the bed, staying on her. My fist clench ti-ghtly together causing blood to flow from my hands. He lower his face to Zoe’s face ” calm down Ares” Xar muttered behind me
I don’t know if I can watch this, his li-ps finally tou-ched hers and what we didn’t expect to happen took place, Fred body shock vigorously before being pushed backwards in a ha-rd way hitting the walls
If am seeing this clearly, electricity is in her mouth, no descendant has ever done this, her body just reject Fred’s body, what do she want exactly, I stare down at a coughing Fred, his face turned dark. He coughed blood

Ares
Standing I have no idea what to do next, if we dont get the blood Zoe needs might die anytime soon ” what the hell was that, I just got pushed away ” Fred gro-an staggering out of the bathroom after washing his face, he still look horrible
” I have no idea, if she won’t accept Fred blood that means you were lieing ” I frown at Fred, he quickly lift his hands up shaking his head ” why will I get in so much trouble with you if Zoe isn’t mine ”
Ignoring his words I walk towards Zoe body, her body getting pale by each minutes that pa-ss ” why don’t you try giving her your blood Ares” Zar muttered stepping into the room ” maybe she will accept yours ”
” that will be a wrong move ” I muttered ” being a dark knight you should know secret doc-ument one” my gaze meet his ” our blood and body is fill enough with poison to kill a descendant and Zoe is now a descendant ” placing my hands on her eyes I open it
They were not blue, all I could see is stars. Moving back I frown, she has a five star tattoo, a normal descendant got moon tattoo and if I remember correctly her mother said she is a rare breed

” what do we do ” Fred said for the second time, I turn, they were still standing at the same sp-ot, they didn’t move ” why are you sitting down ” did time just stopped?? Is Zoe trying to tell me something, all I could feel is pain, is she still in pain
” what about Desdemona?? ” Xar muttered in a rush and I blink, why didn’t I think of that, she might have all the answers I need, after all she is a goddess ” you’re right, I should…..” I tried stopping but the pain in my eye worsen, my hands quickly move to my right eye as I gro-an inwardly
” Ares!!” Zar muttered bending next to me ” are you okay ”
” do we look okay ” Salvador and I gro-an in pain, i have no idea what’s happening ” she is draining me, we have to get out of here ” Salvador gro-an. Xar and Zar helped me up and out of the room
Sitting on the couch I couldn’t un-derstand what Salvador mean ” what do u mean by draining, how is she draining you ” I said, Zar furrow his brows like I have gone mad while Salvador speak to my mind
” she isn’t herself, right now she is unconscious going throu-ghpains, pains she refuse us to feel ”
Refuse us to feel?? What do he mean by that. Before I could ask he purred on ” we are connected to her, is only right for us to feel her pain too but she is taking all in, she doesn’t want you to be in pain. you’re not her mate Ares, you can’t mark what you don’t own, that’s why the mark disappeared. The gods decided Fred to be her met but she rejected him which only means she want you and that will keep her in danger, if she keeps rejecting Fred blood she might die”
Running my hands throu-ghmy hair I sit still, Fred move to the kitchen grabbing a water ” how can you be so calm” my voice rising now as my cold glare met fred ” when she is your mate why are you not trying to find a solution?? ” he furrow his brows
I stand to my feet and he walk closer to me ” what do you think??” He muttered ” finding a solution won’t make her mine, she will she run into your arms….I prefer my mate dieing than….” Before he complete his sentence I gave him the punch of his life, he stumble backwards missing a step then fall, he chuckle cleaning the blood off his mouth ” if she keeps rejecting my blood that means she is ready to die, I don’t mind waiting one thousand years for her to be born again”
” you bastard” before I could jump on him, Xar and Zar hold me back ” let go of me ” I gro-an but they aren’t listening, if am given the opportunity I will kill him right this instant
” we need to be thinking about Zoe right now not this bastard” Xar muttered, exhaling they slowly let go of my arms and I inhale, I have to found my inner peace
” you are right, I will be right back ” shoving my hands into my pocket I give Fred one last glare before getting into the elevators, the moment it closed I recite an ancient word before appearing in Desdemona dimension, everywhere moist with dew ” Desdemona??? ” I muttered not able to see clearly”
” what do you want Ares” listening to her voice I didn’t bother in seeing her face anymore ” how I can I get Zoe back, how can I make her survive this”
She exhale ” she rejected Fred blood?” I nod my head then she purred on ” mates are chosen by Zeus himself, only him can answer you Ares”
” how do I get to him ” I gro-an ” you know is impossible for a lowlife half breed like to talk to him ”
” they is one way ” I step closer as she purred on ” you have to go to the fountain of death” the moment she muttered, I step back shaking my head, she has lost her mind
” are you nuts, that place rain poison and fire” she kept quite, she has nothing else to say to me, is either I go to fountain of death that when a drop of poison touch your skin it melt down to your bone breaking it then fire only make it worst by burning you. you might die but if Zeus acknowledge you, they is a possibility of your survival
Is either I do that or I watch Zoe die and leave my life forever
