Episode 51

Chloe’s POV
I am getting better and suppose to resume school today. I had promised my dad that I’ll commence today. I’ve missed my friends ; Ciara and Anna.
I started getting dressed and in few minutes, I was done. I walked out with my school bag. I was surprised to see Jace standing with my dad at the living room.
“Chloe!” Jace called emphatically and took a step forward. I walked swiftly to him and gave him a friendly hvg.
“I’m glad to hear that the operation was a successful one, I’m so happy for you.” Jace said.
“Thank you Chloe! I’m glad I made it out alive. We’ll see next time, I nee-d to hurry to school.” I said and faced dad. “Bye dad.”
I was about taking steps away from them when dad spoke up. ” Erm…Chloe! I should have told you this but I guess it’s not late. Kian won’t be serving as your b©dyguard anymore, he will.” He pointed at Jace.
I franked at his words. “Why? Jace is my tutor, why did you make him my b©dyguard and why would you fire Kian?”
My dad sighed and walked up to me. He placed his palm on my shoulder and said: “You know I always want the best for you. I st©pped trusting Kian. he has odd intentions towards you. I nee-d you to know that even though I employ b©dyguards to protect you, I always as-sign someone else to monitor them to examine if they are doing well or not. Kian is not in the best position to protect you, Jace is. ”
I scoffed. “Jace can not fight, I’ve never seen him fight someone before, he looks so cool, I think I’ll prefer him as a tutor, I better not have a b©dyguard then.” I said to dad.
“Chloe!” Jace said as he took few steps towards me. “You should trust your dad on this.”
“Baby, if after one week, you do not enjoy his company, I promise to fire him.” My dad said.
I thought for a while. One week is not bad!
“Fine!” I said and walked away while Jace ran to catch up with me.

—At The Penthouse—
Kian’s POV
Kyle and Jace sat on different stools before me at the backyard of the house while I fumed in anger.
“Are you snitching on us alre-ady?” I angrily asked Jace.
“You were an ordinary friend of Chloe before you made yourself a bodguars of hers. I was an ordinary tutor too before I worked my way into being her b©dyguard. I don’t know why you are taking this personal, isn’t this a game anymore? Thought we said whoever gets her pregnant first carts away all the money in the purse of the sinners gang?” Jace said.
“Kian, let’s take this easy. We can not be fighting cause of Adam’s daughter, that’s too belittling. We know how much we loathe Adam Seth and how we have attacked him, he’s our enemy and her daughter is only trying to be a victim.” Kyla added.
“Guys! I nee-d to say this. Yes, this started like a game to me but…I don’t know how to say this, I think I’m in love with Chloe.” I let out.
Kyle chukled while Jace shut me an annoying look.
“Are you alright? In love! Did you just say you are in love?” Kyle asked and cackled.
“Seems I didn’t hear you well? Didn’t you set the rules from the onset that no member of the sinners gang is permitted to fall in love…you told us that love makes a man weak, you even told us that you almost killed your brother’s girlfriend cause he was in love. But you are the one in love now, this is incredible and funny.” Jace said while I looked away.
I feel ashamed of myself that I’m in love after how rou-gh my past was. I had live all my life to loathe ladies, I only take plea-sure in ma-king love with them , no strings attached.
How did I get here for crying out loud? Yes ,it’s a game but how did it end up getting to me to this extent.
“Rule number 7 of the codes of the sinners gang states that anyone found falling in love with any woman, such woman becomes the victim of our next murder!” Jace said and I let my eyes close in pain.
“Confirmed. If you claim to be in love with Chloe…and seeing the fact that she is beginning to cause chaos and misun-derstanding amidst us, we nee-d to kill her.”
Episode 52
-Still At The Pethhouse-
Kian’s POV
“Kyle, you are in love with Ivy too.” I accused feeling grossly confused.
“Ivy and I are just friends, I haven’t proposed to her like you did to Chloe. ” He replied.
I felt ashamed that I’m the one falling in love here, I of all people.
“Guys! The game continues… I also didn’t love Chloe, my proposal to her is p@rt of the game, it’s just a way of ma-king her get comfortable around me and trust me so I can easilyfu-ck her and get her pregnant?” I lied.
Truth is that I love Chloe genuinely and I knew it. There are just so many en¢v-mbr@nces amidst us.
“Fine…game continues.” Jace said as he threw his hands in the air.
“Game continues.” Kyle concluded.

Chloe’s POV
I was inside my room with Jace.
‘I’m glad you excel in all your subjects!”
“Yeah, all thanks to you.” I said hoping and wishing that I have Kian with me.
“Erm… Did Ciara and Anna also gained admission to the same university?” He asked.
“Sure! I met with them yesterday and had a lot of fun…Jace…Why did my dad appoint you as my new b©dyguard?”
He paused as he looked inside my face. “I…I…” He stuttered. “I have no idea, he simply called and inform me and I heeded. ”
“No, that’s a lie, why would he call you? You are only good in teaching not in fighting.”
“But Chloe, you haven’t seen me fight before, have you?” He asked and I looked away.
“You didn’t like me, is that?” He asked softly.
“Not like that…just that I’m kind of used to Kian as my bodguard.” I replied.
There was a moment of silence amidst us. I noticed he checked his wrist watch and stood.
“Just like your dad said, if you did not like my company after a week, I’ll voluntarily leave.” He said and walked out.
I felt like I had hurt him, I shouldn’t have made it too obvious that I prefer Kian. He’s very handsome and cool too.
I only prefer Kian to Jace but I should have kept it hidden. I wish I could stand up and plead to him but he seems to be out of sight.

Few hours later! About 8PM at night when everywhere was getting dark. I was on my be-d almost slee-ping when I started to hear sound of gun.
That would be my first time of hearing sound of gun in real life, all this while, it had always been in movies.
I stood up fearfully and hvgged my teddy bear. I was scared to the gut.
I quic-kly picked the cell phone and put a call throu-gh to my dad.
“Dad, can you hear the sound of the gun?” I asked as soon as he picked it.
“Yes…I’ve informed the cops, don’t worry…sleep dear.”
“Dad, I can’t sleep. I’m scared. ” I said.
“My days! I’m coming there.and…where is your b©dyguard?”
“He should be outside.” I replied.
Few seconds later, my dad opened the door to my room and sat beside me on the be-d.
“Sorry love, it will be handled.” He promised and I rested my head on his shoulder.
I suddenly hear the break of the door and my heart shook heavily.
“Dad! ” I whispered. “Seems the door has been broken.”
My dad was quiet not knowing what to say. The door to my room opened all of a sudden. It was Jace.
“Seems the enemies are close, plea-se come with me sir.” He said. My dad and I followed him.
He started leading us towards a direction of the house, he was in front looking right, left and center while dad and I were walking fearfully behind him.
A strange man double crossed us all of a sudden and directed his gun at us.
“Finally! I’ll get to kill your daughter, Adams!” The man said and fear gr!pp£dmy heart so ti-ght that I could ha-rd ly breathe.
Jace ran to meet the man and engage in a duel with him, he knocked the man down and the gun in his hand fell to the floor.
The man who had blood flowing down his nose crawled ra-pidly all of a sudden and took the gun.
The man looked at me and before he could shoot the gun, Jace ran to defend me.
The bullet hit Jace and he fell to his knees weakly, the man who sh0t the bullet dropped his head to the floor and with the look of things, he has lost consciousness.
Jace held his che-st even as blood gushes out, he fell to the floor.
Episode 53
Chloe’s POV
“Jace! Jace!” I yelled painfully as I watched him bleed. I bent and carried his head on my hand. His eyes were closing.
“Dad, call the ambulance!” I said and he nodded. He ran away and c@m£ back in few seconds.
“I’ve put a call across to them, they’ll get here soon.” My dad said..
” Jace, stay with me. ” I said as I watched him battle between life and death.
He was struggling to keep his eyes opened.
The ambulance finally arrived and he was carried to the hospital.

At the hospital!
I sat beside Jace who had all the medical gadgets connected to him on the sick be-d . I did not know if he can see me or not. He looks unconscious despite the fact that he’s breathing.
“Jace, I hope you will be fine soon.” I said and he answered with his f!ngers.
I cleaned the tears that dropped from the corner of my eyes, I sincerely hope in my heart that nothing will happen to Jace cause he defended me.
The bullet would have hit me but he protected me with his life.
Few hours later, Kian walked in. He stood shock as he saw me.
“Kian!” I called wondering what he had come to do.
“Erm… Chloe!” He said and I stood to hvg him.
“How is he?” He asked referring to Jace.
“Do you know him?” I asked.
“Sure, but we are not that close.” He replied.
“Oh! I never knew that you know Jace. Well, he seems to be getting better.” I said.
Kian walked up to Jace and examined him.
“Let’s see.” He said and we both walked outside.
“How did he end up like that?” He asked.
“Some people c@m£ to kill me and in the process, he engaged in a duel with them, the person sh0t and the bullet was almost hitting me but he saved me. The bullet hit him instead.” I said.
“Really? Jace saved you?”
“Yes, with his life.” I said and he kept quiet.
He spoke after a while. “Choe! You nee-d to be careful around Jace…I was stunned when your dad fired me as your b©dyguard and employ Jace…for what?”
“I tried to talk to dad but he wouldn’t listen. But Jace really earned my trust by saving me. I could have died but he saved me. What kind of friend will risk his life for his friend. Jace is one of a kind.” I praised Jace before Kian and he lowered his head.
“Alright. I just nee-ded you to be careful around him. ”
“Why?” I asked.
“I don’t know but…let’s hold that. I nee-d to confess some things to you.” Kian said and his face turned into a serious one.
“Really? What could it be?” I asked standing akimbo
“Hum!” He hummed and breathed out heavily. “You know I’m a twin right?”
“Sure… ” I asked wondering what the question was for.
“In the past…” He paused and swallowed. He looked up and robbe-d his palm. “Erm…Do you have a memory loss?”
“Memory loss! No. I did not.” I replied.
“I think you did, Chloe! You use to be a girlfriend to…” The door creakes open before he could finish his statement and someone entered.
It was Kaden. I’d seen him at the p@rty before and he kind of look alike with Kian , just some little differences between them.
Kaden looks more beautiful to me than the first time I saw him and strangely, he looks more familiar. I suddenly felt like I’ve known him before.
His pinksl-ips were so exquisite, at that point , I couldn’t tell who is more beautiful between him and Kian.
“Hi Chloe!” Kaden said as he starred into my eyes. I couldn’t take my eyes off his too.
“Brother, sorry for interrupting you…I c@m£ to check on Jace.” He said and walked inside the ward that Jace was.
I traced him with my eyes till he fades out of sight.
I turned back to Kian and he was starring at the floor.
Have I known Kaden before? He looks familiar but I can’t really place where else I have met with him ap@rt from the p@rty.
I then realized that Kian was speaking to me. “Go ahead , Kian.”
He sighed and look into my face. “Do you love me, Chloe?”
“Love? I…Maybe , but I can’t really say now. I’m confused lately about many things happening around me. ”
“I want to know if you will accept me the way I am or you will feed me to the dogs.” He said.
“I do not un-derstand what you meant, Kian. Tell me…is anything the matter?”
He nodded lightly. “I’m the head of the sinners…”
