LEGEND’S POV
I stared at Axel for a while and sm-irked.
“Do you think you did the right thing? I remember you telling me how soft a girl can be? Do you think she will be able to move on?” I asked calmly.
“I actually feel bad for her because I’ve been in her shoes. One sided love isn’t fun. If I don’t say no to her right now I think she will keep on having lingering feelings and that will ruin the mood of our hang out together. When do you plan on telling Melody the truth?” He asked curiously.
“But do you think that will be enough to stop her from having feelings for you? About Melody, I have to do it tonight because I don’t think I will be able to celebr@te the New Year with you guys” I said calmly as we walked behind Grayson and the girls.
“What do you mean Legend? I thought we were celebr@ting the New Year together?” He asked curiously.
“Sorry about that but I just got change of plans” I uttered looking away.
“I thought you planned on staying out of reach of Mr Adams. Why do you suddenly have a change of mind?” He asked curiously and I smiled.
“You’re really one smart kid, your dad must be so proud but I can’t keep on avoiding Mr Adams, I will have to meet up with him soon. I actually got a text from Kaiden, he had a conversation with Mr Adams” I explained.
FLASHBACK*** On when we were watching the movie in the cinema and Kaiden text c@m£ in.
~ I got an audience with Mr Adams, he doesn’t seem like a bad person and surprisingly he still has feelings for mum. I asked him for a favor, to make Mum happy so don’t be too surprised when you get back and finds him visiting often and your homeroom teacher visited, she told mum about your grades. Mum was quite disappointed and worried on how you will get into college but not to worry I don’t think it’s something you should worry about when Mr Adams is here. A lot happened alre-ady in just one day. I’m sorry mum for not meeting up to your expectations again. I g-asped in my mind a bit remorseful after re-ading Kaiden’s text. *** FLASHBACK ENDS.
“Sounds like Kaiden have forgiven him alre-ady. Do you plan on moving to his place?” He asked tiredly.
“Yes, that’s what I plan on doing and I think that’s for the best” I affirmed.
“Did something happen at home?” Axel asked concerned and I smiled.
“Everything’s cool at home”
We got back to the resort and we held a little conversation before everyone retires to their be-d.
“What!” They all chorused in shock.
“Legend why didn’t you tell me about this? I really feel left out” Grayson pouted and I chuckled.
“I only made my decision tonight so you shouldn’t feel left” I said calmly.
“Does that mean you will be moving in with your dad for real? What about Kaiden and your mum? Don’t you think they will miss you too much” Melody uttered and I smiled feeling a bit to-uched with what she just said.
“It’s not like I will be moving in with him completely. I will go visit mum and Kaiden often so I don’t think that will be a problem, I just nee-d to move in with him so I will study ha-rder for our final exams” I explained.
“I think you can still study ha-rder at home. I’m very good at all the subjects, I can help you with your studies” Grayson added.
“I don’t think I can adjust to that. I will nee-d a new environment and new faces before I adjust to what I’m fighting for but for now let’s enjoy our stay here and Jasmine it’s okay to be heartbroken but can we all just act like nothing happened for my sake plea-se” I requested with my palms together and everyone laughed.
“If that’s what you want, of course we can make that possible” Jasmine said with a wi-de smile as they stood up to leave for their room.
“Melody I nee-d a minute plea-se” I cut in and walked to her then we went out of the resort, walking around.
“Are you planning on rejecting me tonight as well? Was it some kind of planned work?” Melody asked with a smile and I felt a bit guilty.
“Let’s not take it that way, this is actually an opportunity of me telling you my true feelings. I don’t want to graduate from high school ma-king you walk on eggshells around me so I prefer being honest. Melody I’m sorry and I wouldn’t want to repeat my lines, I remember saying those lines alre-ady. Repeating it again will look lame but Melody you have to move on okay, that’s the only way I can be happy” I said calmly.
“Those lines c@m£ out of you so easily, I wish it would have been that easy but not to worry. I don’t think I will keep this feelings anylonger, I don’t want to end up losing you as a friend either but I nee-d a hu-g in exchange for that” Melody said slowly and I gave her a ti-ght hu-g. I could feel her tears dropping on my shoulder.
“I guess I really confirmed to be a je-rk. I’m sorry” I comforted patting her back.
“Stop saying sorry alre-ady, you’re ma-king me tear up” Melody said in a low tone.
ONE WEEK LATER…
On New Year day I was done packing my things.
“Legend don’t you think Africa is a bit too far. Is it really necessary for you to go that far?” Mum asked worriedly and I hu-gged her.
“I have my reasons Mum and it has always been my dream to travel to Africa” I smiled and Kaiden glared at me.
“Is this what you really want? When you told me you had a plan, I was hoping to hear something interesting and this is it” Kaiden said sarcastically and I grinned.
“Why do you sound so upset like you never knew this have always been my dream, travelling around the world” I smiled.
“I was thinking you would graduate with your friends, I can’t believe you lied to them about moving in with Mr Adams” Kaiden blurted.
“I will graduate together with them, I will do that online. All same and it’s for the best they don’t know I’m leaving the country” I said with a half smile.
I think I nee-d some time to clear my head and so does everyone else. I g-asped in my head.
“The driver is here alre-ady. Legend this is actually your first time traveling so far all by yourself. Are you sure you will be fine” Mum asked worriedly and I smiled.
“I will be fine Mum and don’t you trust Mr Adams, he made sure everything I nee-d will be re-ady before I even think about it so relax” I smiled.
“So when do you plan on coming back?” Kaiden asked curiously.
“I haven’t thought about it yet but I promise to always keep in to-uch. Mum, Kaiden plea-se don’t give anyone my new contact. I really want to be out of reach from everyone except for the both of you and Mr Adams, can you do that for me?” I requested.
“What exactly happened during your Christmas vacation?” Mum asked curiously.
“Nothing Mum, you worry too much” I grinned.
“You should get going, you may miss your flight” Kaiden reminded with a smile.
“I’m finally getting a smile” I grinned.
“Come here” Kaiden smiled and dragged me into his embr@ce.
“You have to take care of yourself okay, you should always have your phone on you so we don’t lose to-uch” Kaiden advised and I nodded.
AUTHOR’S POV
ONE YEAR LATER….
At the entrance of Brooklyn college, Axel and Melody stood there with their luggages next to them.
“What’s taking him so long?” Melody g-asped so frustratedly.
“He will be here soon” Axel @$$ured and just then Grayson c@m£ running with his luggages.
“Why do you always have to arrive late? Since Legend left us I’ve lost my s-ense of patience so let’s get going” Melody blurted and Axel chuckled.
“Axel don’t you think that’s bad timing” Melody gro-an ed glaring at Axel.
“Seems like Miss Melody is still so upset with Legend” Axel tea-sed as they head to the dormitory block.
“Who abandons his friends like that? This fury inside me isn’t dying anytime soon” Melody said seriously.
“What if Legend shows up right now?” Grayson asked and they both stared at him.
“Then I will k!ss my foot if that happens” Melody cut in swiftly just then they saw some bunch of students surrounded in a corner.
“What’s going on there?” Melody asked trying to look throu-gh the crowd but was avail.
“But Melody do you still have feelings for Legend because I noticed you ba-rely last in your relationships for one week” Axel tea-sed and Grayson laughed.
“That’s because they didn’t meet up to my standard” Melody pouted.
“Guys!” A very fine young man called from the crowd waving at Grayson and Axel.
“Wooh I think I’ve found my next date but who’s that?” They all chorused and looked closer as he walked out of the crowd. Walking towards them.
“OMG! Is that Legend?” Grayson g-asped out in shock as he dropped his luggage.
“Legend!” They all chorused and ran to giving him a ti-ght hu-g.
“k!ss your foot Melody” Axel reminded jovially in Legend’s embr@ce.
“Guys, I’ve missed you so much” Legend g-asped excitedly as they had a group hu-g.
“We missed you even more” Axel said smiling wi-dely.
“So have you decided, who among us will you choose?” Melody asked with a half smile.
“Emm.. I still don’t know who to choose” Legend said calmly and we all boost into laughter.
