“ab-ort the baby?”
Logan stood by the window, trying to make sense of the situation. He never imagined in his life that he would become a father by this stage of his life.
The thought of having a baby with Adena gave him mixed feelings. He didn’t know whether to be happy or angry about it. What if the baby belongs to Tyson? Both of them are in a relationship, aren’t they?
He Gr0-ned at the thought of Tyson taking Adena away from him. He had to clarify things. He had to know if the baby belonged to him or to Tyson. Perhaps a DNA test?
Logan made up his mind to leave for the hospital the following morning before Adena ab-orts the baby.

Logan entered the lobby and had a talk with the nurse who directed him to Adena’s ward. On getting there, he was shocked to see Tyson there already, holding Adena’s hand. He wanted to go in there and punch his teeth out, but he decided to control his anger and listen to their conversation instead.
“I have to go back to Europe now. I’m not sure when I’ll be back but I’m hoping that Logan must have freed you by then” Tyson said, car-essing Adena’s palm. That act only made Logan’s heart boil. He couldn’t stand to see another man so close to her..
“Please Tyson, take care of yourself and stay out of trouble” Adena for-ced a smile, staring into Tyson’s eyes.
“I will” he nodded.
“I also wanted to apologise”
“For what?” Adena raised a brow at him.
“It’s because of me that Logan punished you a month ago.. because he thought I was sleeping with you” Tyson sighed.
“You don’t have to apologise for what you didn’t do” Adena cooed, car-essing his hair lovingly.
“Yeah but still, it landed you in the hospital back then. I’m sorry”
“It’s okay. I’m going to miss you. I wish Logan was more like you, loving and gentle” she smiled wholeheartedly and that left a hole in Logan’s heart.
First of all, he was wrong about Tyson and Adena being inti-mate with each other. And secondly, Adena is pregnant for him but she doesn’t like him at all.
“I’m going to miss you too. I should get going” Tyson stood up, arranging his suit.
“Already?” Adena pouted.
“Yeah, my flight is in thirty minutes. I’ll ask Camilla to give you her phone to communicate once in a while” he smiled at her and she nodded.
“Okay. Goodbye Tyson” she said, adjusting her bandaged arm.
“I love you..” he said and ki-ssed her cheek before heading out. He was shocked to see Logan standing by the door, with an undescribable expression on his face.
“Cous” he called playfully.
“You’re going back to Europe?” Logan asked, raising his brow.
“Yeah, are you gonna miss me?” Tyson teased and Logan scoffed.
“Not a chance” he answered and Tyson chuckled.
“I’ll miss you too, and our little fights” Tyson said.
Little fights indeed! A fight that almost cost their lives!
He gave Logan a pat on the back and walked away. Logan watched him leave and was glad he did. The space and distance would be good for everybody.
Logan took a de-ep breath before walking into the ward to meet Adena. She was staring at the ceiling when he came in. It was the scent of his cologne that signified to her that he was around. She had no idea how her Br@in registered the scent of his cologne.
“What are you doing here?” She asked, without even looking at him.
“Adena, I want to talk to you” he said, moving closer to her bedside. She glanced at his handsome face and sighed.
“Well I don’t wanna talk to you” she said.
“I know you’re angry with me, it’s justified. I did shoot your arm” he said, looking at her bandaged arm.
“Yeah so?”
“But it’s not enough reason for you to ab-ort my baby” he said and Adena turned her head swiftly to look at him, in shock. She didn’t want him to find out.. ever!
“I.. I.. don’t know what you’re talking about” she sniffed back the tears that threatened to fall.
“You know exactly what I’m talking about Adena. You are pregnant. Not only did you hide it from me, you’re planning to ab-ort it!” He half yelled and she winced.
“So?!! Why do you care? Why do you care what I decide to with my child?!” She yelled at him and tried to sit up for-cefully but her wound wouldn’t let her and she yelped in pain.
Logan rushed to her and held her, making her relax on the pillow again.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
“Don’t act like you care Logan! I know you don’t. Yes, I know your terrible childhood turned you into what you are today, but I also know that you don’t care about me. So I’m going to do whatever I want with my child” she explained, both of them locking eyes.
“It’s my child as well. I do have a say in whatever happens to it” Logan insisted and Adena Gr0-ned.
“What are you even saying? I am a slave Logan. Nothing but a mere slave. Of what use would my child be to you?” She asked with eyes full of regret, pain and misery.
“Antoinette told me stories of how you made the other slaves you had to get rid of their babies by ab-ortion. So why would you care about me?” She asked as the tears ran down and dropped on her pillow.
“Because you are different!” He yelled, pas-sing his fingers throu-ghhis hair. He didn’t know how to describe what he was feeling, he didn’t know how to tell her how much she has come to mean to him.
“Different?”
“Yes Adena. I cannot explain it but you are different. And I won’t let you get rid of my child”
Adena seemed to feel bu-tterflies in her stomach everytime he said “my child”. Has he really accepted responsibility of the baby?
“You’re kidding. What about Delaney huh? Your wedding is on the day after tomorrow. What are you going to tell her huh?” She asked.
“I don’t know, but I’m calling off the wedding for now”
“What?”
“You can’t call of your wedding for me!”
“For you Adena, I am now prepared to do anything.. anything it takes to make you see that I regret my actions towards you” he said and took her hand.
Adena watched in awe as those rare words came out from his mouth. She couldn’t believe it.
She must be dreaming!!
“I’m calling off the wedding until further notice” he said with a note of finality and she kept staring at him.
What exactly is wrong with the man in front of her?
Sometimes he hates her, sometimes he treats her like a precious thing!
“Are you serious about that?” She whispered.
“I don’t make jokes” he simply replied.
“As long as you reconsider, do not ab-ort my baby” he added and her heart fluttered.

Adena panicked as all eyes were on her. Everyone was gathered in the living room to welcome her, as soon as she was discharged from the hospital.
It wasn’t the stares the she was getting that scared her, it was the news that Logan was about to break to everybody. She glanced at Delaney who was seething at the far end of the room, with Anastasia beside her.
“I have an announcement to make” Logan started and everyone murmured amongst themselves.
“Um.. Delaney, I’m sorry but the wedding won’t be taking place anymore.. till further notice” he dropped the bomb and gasps filled the room.. Adena scratched the back of her head and looked down at her worn out sandals.
“What!?” Delaney shrieked, walking up to meet Logan.
“What are you saying? You’re joking right!?” She asked, scared and angry at the same time.
“It’s my decision Delaney. I can’t marry you” he added. She seemed to blow up.
“No!! You can’t do that to me!! Why are you doing this?!” She squealed, already shedding tears. Anastasia watched her best friend in pity. It looked like the same fate had befallen both of them.
“Look Delaney, pull yourself together, I know it hurts”
“You don’t know anything Logan! How can you do the to me?!”
“I don’t know what else to do. I can’t let my child be without a father” he said, dropping another bomb that made everybody’s jaw drop.
Antoinette peeped at Adena who nodded at her. Antoinette couldn’t wait to ask Adena so many questions.
“What do you mean?” Delaney asked, looking at Adena and hoping it’s not what she’s thinking.
“Yes Delaney. I’m going to become a father. Adena is pregnant with my child” Logan announced and Delaney collap-sed.
