✨ CHAPTER 35 ✨
“Adena” Liliana called, sitting by the bed with tears in her eyes.
“I’m so sorry.. it was my fault, I didn’t take care of you the way I was supposed to. I didn’t give you the right medication.. you wouldn’t have fallen pregnant” Liliana complained, pained that such a young girl would soon become a mother.
“Ma please stop” Adena sighed, clutching the old woman’s hand to her stomach.
Adena winced a little, adjusting her bandaged arm to a more comfortable position.
“Don’t blame yourself for anything. It was Logan that put me in a family way” Adena sniffed back her tears.
“Besides, it’s over a month now” she added, Liliana’s eyes wide-ned in shock at the statement.
“Wait, you knew about it before now?” She asked.
“Yes, the day I was rushed to the hospital after collap-sing on Logan’s bed. I told the doctor not to tell anyone about it. I was scared and sad. I decided to keep it to myself until I decided whether to get rid of it or not” Adena explained as tears raced down her cheeks.
She had been battling so many emotions in secret, suffering in silence all these weeks and she was tired. She burst out crying, while Liliana tried to comfort her, she also couldn’t control her tears.
“You don’t want to tell Logan?” Liliana asked.
“Tell him? A man that doesn’t accept me as nothing other than a slave, what makes you think he’ll accept my child? I can’t bear to bring a child into this world and deprive him or her of his father’s love”
“And me? I’ll be 19 soon, I am too young. I don’t want a baby.. I want to get rid of it, I can’t raise a child for a man who tortured me” she sniffed and wiped her cheeks with the back of her palm.
“Oh God!” Liliana was de-eply pained by her words. She didn’t even know what advice to give to this little girl. She didn’t know how to encourage her.
“I’m going to ab-ort it.. now” Adena said and Liliana gasped.
“Adena please.. don’t do that, just tell him first and see what he has to say”
“Tell him what? Logan is my master, I’m never going to be more than a slave to him. He’ll never accept my child” Adena answered, staring into space.
“My child please.. please just have a rethink. What if something happens to you during the process? What if you lose your life? What if your wo-mb gets damaged?” Liliana tried to change her mind by listing all the dangers involved but Adena wasn’t moved.
“Death is much better than everything I’ve gone throu-ghin Logan’s hands. I can’t bring a child into this world to get rejected like I did and continue suffering. I can’t” she sobbed.
Liliana hu-gged her to her che-st and car-essed her hair.
Liliana knew it would be wrong on her path to let Adena get rid of an innocent child just like that.. even though this child’s experience would spark a lot of problems.
First there’s Delaney, she’s set to marry Logan in a three days time! This news will definitely not go down well with her. And Tyson? He’s going to freak out and turn against Logan again. What should she do?
“Listen Adena, I can’t let you ab-ort the baby. Give birth to it and I’ll raise him myself” Liliana suggested.
“I can’t do that.. I can’t add to your responsibilities Liliana. Please let me remove the baby” Adena was already stern on her decision.
“Please.. please don’t let Logan know. After this, we’ll pretend that nothing ever happened” Adena said and lay back on the bed with her back turned on Liliana.
Liliana knew that she couldn’t let Adena endanger her life by going throu-ghan ab-ortion. Something had to be done.
She had to tell Logan even though Adena told her not to.
Adena was sleeping in the hospital that night and the ab-ortion would take place the next morning. Everyone went home without any clue of what was happening except Liliana.
Antoinette stayed back with Adena while everyone else went home.

“Are you still going back to Europe?” Camilla asked, pas-sing her brother a cu-p of coffee. They were in Damon’s house, cooling off after the stressful day they all just had.
“I want to go with Adena” Tyson answered. Camilla bit her li-p.
“You have to forget about her” Camilla said, knowing fully well that Logan is possessive of Adena.
“Why? I’m in love with her and I’m not leaving this time without her”
“I can see you’re not happy with the peace that has come to reign. Adena still belongs to Logan and I doubt he’s willing to let her go and time now. Just let her be and focus on what’s important” Camilla lectured and Tyson was surprised at how smart his sister has become.
“Go and put yourself together again. When you’re back, you can go for Adena, that is, if Logan is willing to let go of her” she continued.
“I agree with Camilla, I think you should go back to Europe for now. If you and Adena were meant to be together, then she’ll be yours” Damon added, entering the living room after putting Zoey to sleep.
They had to make sure the peace between Tyson and Logan stays. They didn’t want any more war and Tyson leaving to Europe for a while would do just that.
“So the couple have decided to gang up against me?” Tyson asked jokingly, gulping down his coffee.
“We’re sorry if it seems that way” Damon chuckled.
“It’s alright. I will go back to Europe but not before I see Adena one last time”
“Oh, that’s not a problem at all” Camilla smiled, pleased with the outcome of things.
“I’ll be going to see her tomorrow morning before she is discharged from the hospital” Tyson said, getting up from the couch. He dropped his empty cu-p on the centre table and left for the guest room.
“I’m so happy that Tyson is not being as difficult as he usually is” Camilla sighed, sitting on Damon’s lap and putting her arms around his ne-ck.
“Yeah, and I hope things continue moving so smoothly” Damon replied, sneaking his hand around her wai-st and drawing invisible circles on her back.
Camilla blus-hed when their eyes met, and Damon pushed her closer to himself, brushing his li-ps against her cheek and ne-ck. Camilla shuddered at the feeling.
Damon was such a sweetheart and has managed to carve a place for himself in her heart. After countless heartbreaks from unserious men, the last thing she expected was to fall in love with a playboy.
But this playboy has turned into the love her life, and she couldn’t be more thankful.
“I love you Camilla” Damon said, pushing his li-ps harshly against hers. She ki-ssed back with equal energy, parting her li-ps for their tongues to meet.
Damon lifted Camilla and started heading upstairs without breaking the ki-ss.

“Logan?” Liliana called, knocking softly on the door.
She had to wait until midnight to discuss with Logan. She didn’t want anyone else to hear what she had to say.
“Logan!” She called a little louder, knocking even ha-rder.
The door pulled open, expo-sing Logan in his robe, with a cigar in his mouth. He looked stressed out and worried.
“Ma? What are you doing here by this time? You should be resting, you worked a lot today” Logan said, making way for her to enter his room. He locked the door and they went to sit in his couch.
“I had to discuss something with you, it’s very important” Liliana said, pressing down on her fingers.
“By this time?” He raised a brow at her.
“Yes. It’s about Adena”
As soon as Logan heard Adena’s name, his eyes lit up. He didn’t notice how excited she made him but Liliana noticed and it sort of have her hope.
“What about her?”
“I don’t know how you’re going to take this news but um.. uh.. she’s pregnant” Liliana sighed, getting that off her che-st.
Logan’s jaw dropped as he stared at Liliana in awe. His Br@in seemed to go numb for a while. He didn’t know how to react to this news, none of his slaves had ever fallen pregnant for him.
“Pregnant??” He asked, raising his eyebrows.
“Yes”
Logan was still shocked by this.
But wait, didn’t Adena sleep with Tyson too? The child could be his.. this realization broke him.
“Tyson could be responsible” he said.
“Adena never laid with Tyson. I can attest to that” Liliana answered.
“I don’t believe that” he scoffed, getting to his feet. He tried to wave off the topic and it got Liliana angry.
“What is the matter with you Logan? Adena is pregnant for you and that’s all you have to say? Tyson and Adena were never intimate! But you Ra-ped her countless times, without any form of protection and she fell pregnant. Yet, here you are, trying to run from your responsibility!” Liliana yelled at him, walking towards the door.
“Maybe she was right to ab-ort the baby.. you’d make a terrible father!” She opened the door, stepped out and banged it shut.
It was pointless talking to Logan. She decided to try and convince Adena to keep the baby and let her take care of it.
“ab-ort.. the baby?” Logan asked as soon as Liliana left his room.
