Chapter sixteen & seventeen

“Did you plan all of these with the kids?”, He asked and pearl tried to rele-ase her arms but he didn’t let go of her.
“I had no idea of what they were planning, so don’t accuse me.”, She replied glaring at him back.
“What exactly do you want? Do you think you still have chance after everything you did?”
“What do you mean what do I want? I already told you that I didn’t come for you, didn’t I?”, Pearl questioned and he let out a dry laugh.
“You were with Carl … He was cuddling you and now you are here. Why are you not with your boyfriend then?”, He questioned and Ryan and Emma cane back outside.
When they got outside, they quickly took a picture of them.
“Dad … Mom they are about to start the challenge.”, They shouted going back inside.
“Whatever happened between Carl and I is my business and not yours.”, She fired and je-rked her hand off him and went inside the shop.
“I can’t believe her! It is not my business? Alright.” He said and followed.
“Good evening everyone! That you for coming here and you won’t regret it. If you want to participate, you can come out now but you have to have a partner.”, The man said and Ryan and Emma looked at each other and smiled.
“Our parents wants to participate.”, They stood up saying and everyone turned to them and cheered.
“Woah! That’s nice you you, kids.”, The man said.
“Do you have another parents because I Know you can’t be referring to me?”, Kyle asked looking around.
“Please everyone let’s cheer our parents, they are actually in a bad mood but I believe this game will brighten their mood.”, Ryan said and everyone cheered for them and Ryan and Emma went to pull them to the stage.
“Please do your best to win for our sake.”, Emma said to them.
When the contestant were already much, the game started.
The first round they were asked to transfer a love-shaped paper to another place using their mouth.
Pearl looked around worried, hoping that no one would recognize her.
“Once you hear start, you will start recording on Mom’s phone, I will do the same on dad’s phone.”, Ryan instructed and Emma nodded obediently.
“You just have 5 minutes to do that. Start!”, The man instructed and they started immediately.
Kyle put the paper in his mouth and used his li-ps to hold it and he used his left hand to hold Pearl’s ne-ck and pearl took the paper with her mouth and place it on a paper.
When they got to the last paper, the paper dropped from his mouth and his li-ps landed on Pearl’s li-ps.
When Ryan and Emma saw this Ryan used one hand to close Emma’s eyes and he closed his.
They quickly separated and their eyes wide-ned immediately. Kyle had a frown in his frown but pearl was normal.
“15 seconds more.”, The man said but Kyle and pearl just stood there staring at each other.”
“Game over.”, The man announced.
“It’s time for the second round.”, The man said.
This time a paper will be pas-sed in their middle and they must stop it with her mouth.
When Kyle and pearl first tried, they successfully stopped the first one and the second but they failed at the third one and they ended up ki-ssed by each other mistakenly and the kids closed their eyes again still recording.
It was time for the third round. A medium sized cotton candy was placed in between the contestants and they were given time to finish it.
Kyle and pearl tried their best for their li-ps not to touch each other but they failed at the last minute.

Erica tried calling Kyle but he wasn’t picking, in fact he was rejecting the calls.
Normally whenever they fight, Kyle makes sure they settle that day. He won’t stop calling her but this is different.
Erica walked out of his office angrily expecting Kyle to come running after her but he didn’t.
When she decided to call, he was rejecting it.
She wanted to check in his mansion but it was already late.
After a while, she received a message. Kyle sent some pictures and videos.
She checked the pictures and it was a picture of Kyle and pearl with the kids, what she saw in the video broke her heart.
It was a video of Kyle and pearl ki-ssing, when she saw this, she was at the verge of crying.
Kyle is cheating on her with that his stupid ex-wife.

After the game, pearl and Kyle became the winner and their pictures were taken and they were gifted flowers, basket of chocolate, jewelries, R0m-ntic books and a sculpture of a male and female holding hands.
Ryan and Emma too joined in the picture.
“Take this.”, Kyle said handling the flowers to her.
“I don’t nee-d it.”, Pearl said walking out of the shop.
If she collects the flower then she won’t stop thinking about him and she will end up staying awake throu-ghout the night.
“I’ll give it to Erica then.”, He said rolling his eyes.
“Woah! I love chocolates.”, Emma said taking one from the basket.
“What do you see in chocolate anyway?”, Ryan frowned.
“We are going home now, we are not doing any more games.”, Kyle said sternly to the kids sort of annoyed and they behaved seeing the change on his face.
“Pearl Hansley?”, Someone called behind her and pearl felt like disappearing from that place.
She turned back and her eyes wide-ned immediately seeing the person.
“Aaron?”, She called and the guy nodded Happily and they hu-gged.
Kyle looked at the guy in jealousy and hissed.
One thing was sure, he hates the guy already.
“I have missed you Aaron.”, Pearl said hu-gging him ti-ghtly and Kyle’s eyes wide-ned.
“Wow! She missed him? Did she even miss me at all?”, Kyle scoffed in disbelief.
“Meet my children.”, She said points to Ryan and Emma and Kyle was waiting for pearl to introduce him.
Then it occurred to him that she can’t introduce him as her ex-husband. He would just be wondering what they are still going out together.
“Wow! I didn’t imagine you to be married, aren’t you in a relationship with Carl verdad?”, He asked and pearl just sighed.
“It is a long and complicated story.”, She replied.
“I’m Emma.”, Emma said going into their middle making them to disengage.
“And I’m Ryan.”, Ryan said joining Emma.
“Hi Beautiful kids, it’s nice meeting you.”, He greeted and they faked a smile.
“Is that your husband?”, He asked going to Kyle who wouldn’t stop glaring at them.
“Aaron Martinez.”, He introduced himself smiling but Kyle just glared at him.
“Kyle.”, He introduced himself and ignored his handshake.
Aaron embarras-singly dropped his hand and went back to pearl.
“Serves you right.”, Kyle muttered sm-irking.
“Actually I am in a hurry, can I get your number? So we can continue to talk later.”, He asked and pearl immediately called her number.
“I hope we meet again.”, He said and he waved at everyone.
“Meet again?”
“Who is he?”, Kyle asked but she just ignored him.
“Why should I tell you? It is my business.”, She said.
“She’s right! It is none of my business, why am I even concerned?”
Immediately they got to where the car was parked, Kyle’s phone rang and he collected it from Ryan.
It was Erica.
?You bastard! I can’t believe that you are cheating on me, you even had the gut to send the videos to me.
? Erica I don’t un-derstand what you are saying. What videos are you talking about?
Before he could say another word, she hung up on him and Kyle went to check the videos she was talking about.
Kyle’s eyes wide-ned at what he saw and he turned back to look at the kids.
“Why did you take a video of us?”, He asked calmly but the kids knew that their dad was really not going to take it lightly.
“Why did you send it to Erica?”, He asked but they only looked down in fear.
“Answer me!”, He yelled and Emma burst into tears.
“We just wanted to help.”, Ryan shuttered in fear.
“Help? What help are you talking about?”, He queried.
“Kyle please don’t yell at them, you can just ask them nicely.”, Pearl said.
“Stay out of this.”, He snapped at her.
“We just wanted you and Mom to get back together.”, Emma said admist tears.
It was real this time around.
Kyle sighed out of frustration.
“I’m sorry but I can’t get back together with your mom, I’m with someone else and I love her and your mom has her lover too.”, He said and Pearl’s heart broke into pieces.
She is not going to deny it any longer, what Kyle said hurt her so much.
“Erica is a good person, with time you will get to like her, I promise. I am trying my best to get the complete family that you want with Erica.”, He said and pearl became uncomfortable hearing Kyle talk about Erica.
“It’s obvious that he doesn’t love me anymore.”, she thought.
“You can leave, I will find my way back.”, She said coming down.
“Where are you going to?”, Kyle asked concerned but he quickly changed the worried expression before anyone noticed.
“Just leave without me and stop acting like you care.”, She said coming out of the car angrily.
“Ok then, suit yourself. I don’t care.”, He said starting the car and drove away.
