“I’m sorry” I whispered, looking at my hands which rested on my th!ghs. I couldn’t even face Elvis.
We were both seated outside un-der the tree on the bench.
“Its okay. We all make mistakes” I heard his calm voice.
I slowly took my gaze to him and he was wearing a sweet smile.
“I’m really-
“Ssh” He said and placed a f!nger on myl-ip. My eyes blinked as I looked de-eply at him.
“Next time you say I’m sorry again. I’m gonna make sure its not my f!ngerson yourl-ips,, but rather myl-ips”
I felt my heart jump. It was now beating fast. I quic-kly looked down nervously.
“But,, Rose?” Elvis called.
“Yes? I gently answered and looked at him. He was still smiling.
“Why were you angry when you saw me with Juliet?” He asked.
I swallowed and finally said something after all my rushful thinking.
“Well, I thought you were flir-ting and I also remembered you saying you aren’t like most guys”
He chuckled.
“This is the reason why I keep saying you are cute. Wow, can’t believe you are Juliet’s roommate. Is this fate?”
I simply chuckled.
“By the way, you call her by her real name, Juliet?”
“Yes. You? Wait,, you call her Julie, I guess?” He asked.
“Sure. She says she wants it that way” I replied.
“Huh… Do you know why?” He asked.
“Huh?” I muttered.
“Do you know why she prefers being called Julie? I always called her Juliet. Don’t know what happened? You are her roommate so I thought you would know”
I swallowed ha-rd and shook my head.
“I don’t. Maybe she finds it cute”
“Okay then” He nodded.
I inhaled de-eply and looked at him. He was looking de-eply at me. I almost felt my heart leave my che-st.
He stared at me for 2 minutes, before tucking my hair to the back of my ear.
“The wind is quite strong tonight” He said.
I nodded, in agreement and slowly took my face away.
“Rose?” He called.
I looked at him.
“I promise I ain’t a pl@yboy nor a bad boy”
I swallowed ha-rd , wondering why he was telling me those things.
“Do you have a b©yfri£nd?” He asked, gently.
I looked at him de-eply for a while and shook my head. He smiled brightly.
“Rose… Can you go on a d@t£ with me?”
I blinked my eyes and-
“Look at them!” I heard Axel’s loud voice. I and Elvis turned and saw him. Vin was holding onto him. Axel looked drun!k.
“What happened to him?” I asked, Vin.
“He is drun!k” Vin replied.
I simply shook my head and stood up.
“Elvis. Let’s go”
“Rose, plea-se! Don’t… Just don’t go. Don’t leave me. Why do you want him! What about me? What’s gonna happen to us?”
I sighed de-eply and turned over to his face.
“There’s nothing like us anymore! Got that! We are throu-gh! Done! Over! Finished! What kind of English do you want me to speak before you un-derstand me, huh!”
“Elvis… Will you keep staying here? I’m off” I said, and walked away.
Elvis looked at Axel who was now crying ha-rd . He quic-kly walked away trying to catch up with me.
“No!” Axel yelled bitterly and sat on the floor, crying.
“Axel! Geez!” Vin muttered, frustratedly.

“Sorry about that” I said.
Elvis sighed.
“What did I tell you about saying sorry. If anyone has to apologize. It should be him”
I sighed and nodded.
“Goodnight. See you tomorrow” I said, and turned to open the door.
“Wait” He quic-kly said, holding onto my hand. I turned and looked at him, then to the hand he was holding.
“What’s it?” I asked, slowly taking my face to him.
“About what I asked-
“Elvis. d@t!ngnow isn’t p@rt-
“Think about it” He said quic-kly with a smile.
“I’m sorry” I muttered, and slowly took my hand off. I opened the door and walked in.
I went straight to my be-d and la-id down. I looked at the ceiling and ru-bbe-d my forehead.
“Rose?” Julie called.
I turned over.
“What’s it?” I asked.
“What did he say?”
“Who?”
“Who else? My sweet cousin of course”
I sighed and turned back over. I closed my eyes.
“Nothing much, actually”
“Oh” Julie muttered.

“Hey” Ann called.
I looked at her and scoffed. Elvis was with me then. He was trying to follow me to the lecture hall since he wasn’t familiar with the environment.
Dana was with her. They backs were resting on their lockers on the wall.
“What’s it?” I asked.
“What did you do to Axel?” Ann asked.
“If its about Axel,, don’t wanna hear it” I said wanting to leave.
Dana quic-kly pu-ll-ed me to their side by gr-abbing my hair. I m0@n ed out.
“What did you do to Axel?! He isn’t fv¢king posting on Tiktok like other days!”
“How is she supposed to know!” Elvis shouted and pu-ll-ed her hand away. I looked up and saw angry Elvis glaring at the girls.
“Its not like she’s d@t!ngAxel! So, why and how the heck is she supposed to know!” He yelled.
I stared at him and felt my heart racing again.
“And who do you think you are?” Ann eyed him. I scoffed and went in between them. I was backing Elvis while facing the girls.
“He knows cause he’s my b©yfri£nd” I said.
Elvis shivered and swallowed ha-rd when he heard that statement.
“What!?” Some onlookers whispered.
I looked at my side to see Axel staring at me. He walked up to me and I glared at him.
To my surprise, He took Elvis hand and ran away with him.
“What the-,, Are they some kind of g@y couple?” I thought, watching them.
“Hey! Wait up!” I shouted and ran after them.

Chapter 4

I breathed heavily and sat down with the two boys. They were facing each other while seated at the coffee shop.
“Two coffees plea-se” Axel signalled.
“Axel? What are you up to?” I asked.
“Just hold on” He said.
I hissed and faced Elvis.
“Elvis. Let’s go. Lecture is gonna start in few minutes..”
“Hold on, Rose”
Axel scoffed. Two cu-ps of coffee were later brou-ght to them.
“It isn’t for you, dude. Its for her” Axel said, and pointed at the other cu-p, while drinking the other.
“Do I look like I wanna drink?” I eyed him.
“Why did you bring me here?” Elvis asked.
“Who are you?” Axel asked, and took the cu-p down.
Elvis smiled.
“I’m Elvis Vinson”
Axel scoffed.
“What about you?” Elvis asked.
Axel glared at him.
“Alvin, eyy?”
“Nope, El-Vis”
“Whatever” Axel rolled his eyes.
“What’s your name?” Elvis asked, gently.
“He’s Axel wins” I said.
“Oh… Alex”
“Huh? Ax-El…!!,, not Al- Ex!!!”
“Whatever” Elvis rolled his eyes.
“So annoying! So, who are you to Rose?” Axel asked.
“She’s my girlfriend” Elvis replied.
I stared at him, shockingly.
“Wh…at?” I stammered.
“You called me your b©yfri£ndthen” He said.
“Thats was-
“Are you d@t!nghim?” Axel suddenly asked.
“Huh?” I looked at him.
“Are you fv¢king d@t!nghim!” He screamed.
“And what if I am!” I screamed back.
Axel scoffed and stood up. He pushed the chair out of the way.
“I guess you were serious about the break up then. Have fun” He said, and left angrily.
I stared at him for a while and looked at Elvis.
“Let’s go” I told him.
“You ex?” He asked.
“Don’t wanna talk about it. Let’s go, we are late” I said, and left.
Elvis was about leaving when the coffee shop p@rtimer st©pped him.
“I’m sorry but you nee-d to pay” He said.
“Huh? But I didn’t-,,, Never mind, here” Elvis gave him some cash and asked him to keep the change before leaving.
We both saw Vin on the way.
“Hey? Vin?” I called.
He st©pped and turned back to see us.
“What’s up?” He asked.
“Good. I heard..” I said.
“Heard? Heard what?” He asked.
“About your returned girlfriend”
“Oh,, I guess Lily told you”
“Yup”
“She doesn’t even want to see me anymore”
“Of course, she won’t. You were friends with benefits so- I chuckled.

fv¢k! No! My mouth!
I closed my mouth and tapped it. Vin st©pped and looked at me.
“Lily told you?” He asked.
I chuckled nervously and quic-kly held Elvis hand.
“Let’s go fast. We are so late” I said, and walked away briskly,, leaving Vin confused.
45 Minutes Later**
Vin slowly walked behind us. We were going together to the next lecture hall when we saw Lily.
She took her eyes away from Vin and held my hand.
“Who’s he?” She asked, moving her head.
I looked at Elvis.
“Meet Lily. She’s my course mate and a friend. Lily, meet Elvis. He’s my… I mean,, our new course mate”
“Awwnn…so handsome. Nice to meet you, Elvis” She shook his hand.
“Nice to meet as well, Lily” Elvis replied.
Vin slowly walked past us.
“Let’s go”
“And who’s gonna follow you?” Lily frowned.
“Us” I sm-irked.
“St©p kidding. Let’s go away from here to our next clas-s plea-se” Lily said.
“Actually, I don’t know where the next clas-s is holding. Vin does. My battery is dead so I couldn’t reach the lecturer. Vin called him and he said the lecture is not gonna hold in the normal place but rather somewhere only Vin knows”
“Still…,, Just let’s go” Lily said, looking at Vin nervously.
Vin sighed and walked, while we followed later on.
That Evening**
“Okay,, bye” I waved to Elvis.
“A minute” He quic-kly said.
“Huh? What’s it?” I asked.
“Do you still like Axel?” He asked.
“No. I don’t” I replied.
“He’s my ex” I added.
“Oh,, I see”
“Elvis?” I called.
My heart beat was racing fast. He looked me and muttered a hmm,, raising his brows.
I inhaled de-eply.
“You are next” I muttered.
“What?” His eyes wi-de-ned, in surprise.
“I’m gonna try and go on a d@t£ with you” I smiled.
“Whoaaaa! Everyone! My flower rose finally agreed!! Wooo! At last!!!” He screamed, happily.
I chuckled and he hvgged me ti-ght.
“Thank you. Thank you for giving me a chance” He said.
I nodded and responded with the hvg. I remembered I and Lily’s dialogue during lunch vividly…
Flash Back**
“So,, you mean your heart keeps thumping fast whenever you hear him talk?” Lily asked.
“Yes. Even when I see him. Do you think I’m in love with Elvis too?” I asked.
