AYOMIDE
Part 13

Ayomide returned from school and met Amarachi crying. She tried to console her but Amarachi was uncontrollable.
“I have ruined my life Ayo. I have been living a reckless life and you have warned me ooo. Chai! Do you know how many times I have ab-orted for Daniel? Kai! I have been foolish because I was always carried away by his sugar coated tongue. He keeps telling me his parents are wealthy, that he will marry me and take me to Dubai or Paris. He do tell me to ab-ort any pregnancy, that I still have years to give him children. Aaah! Ayo! So many promises from Daniel. I have been sick ooo” she sobbed. “I have been loosing weight. You even complained. Well, I went for check-up as you advised and this is the result ooo” she sobbed the more. Ayo collected the paper from her and read the result.

“HIV! My God!
” Do you also know I told Daniel about the result and she told me he’s aware. He says he has been taking drugs and I should go and get drugs for myself. That having HIV is no big deal. He infected me purposely. Aah God. I am finished.”
“What kind of wickedness is this?” Lamented Ayo.
“I am going to die. My parents sent me to school so that I will be better than them but look at me… graduating with HIV as my result” she placed her two hands on her head.

“You will not die. You will have to manage it with drugs Ayo. You will also nee-d to inform your parents about it.”
“All the days of my life on drugs? Oh Lord have mercy on me”
She continued crying and she couldn’t be consoled. Ayo who could not bear the tears left the house and headed to the place where she usually pray. She prayed and prayed asking God to have mercy on her roommate and intervene.
“I know she has learnt her lesson in a ha-rd way father. Just one chance is all I ask for her Lord. I will not leave until you answer me ”
She kept interceding until she had peace in her heart.
“Thank you father because any time I call you, you’re always on time to answer me”

Quickly, she rushed home and sat opposite Amara who had stopped crying but still dazed by the whole thing.
“I know you have been living in sin but God is ready to forgive you and accept you back. Do you remember the story of the prodigal son?
“Yes I do!
“Do you also remember what was written in 2 chronicle 7:14 says?”
“Yes!
She brou-ght her Bible and read the Bible pas-sage aloud for her to hear.
“It’s time to go to the father Amarachi. He has been waiting for you”
In tears and brokenness, Amarachi confessed her sin before God and asked for forgiveness. She rededicated herself to God.

Two days later, while they were arranging their things to travel the next day, Ayo heard a voice.
“I have healed Amarachi”
As she heard the voice, she jumped up in joy.

“Oh how I love you father. You’re bigger than what people say”
“What is it Ayo. See the way you’re dancing”
Ayo laughed, then picked the pen on the table and used it as if she was holding a microphone.
“My father said He has healed you”
“Hey! Hey!” Amara kept screaming. She didn’t know what to do.
“I don’t know how to dance but today, I am going to sing and dance for Him.” She sang and danced until she had no voice to sing again.
———————————–
Ayomide had been waiting for a car to convey her to the motor park. She had been standing along the road for long until a car parked in front of her.
“Good morning sister Ayo” the man greeted.
” Ah! Thank God I finally saw you. After I opened the envelope you gave me, I ran out to thank you but you disappeared. Thank you sir. I am now a million. Thanks to you sir”
“It’s a token sis Ayo. Please don’t thank me. Where are you going to?”
“To the park sir. I am throu-ghwith my education here and parents are waiting for me”
“Congratulations then. Get into the car let me drop you at the park.”
He helped her carry her things into the boot of the car and he drove her to park.
” I don’t know your name sir!”
” O sorry! I am Mr Adeshina Owolabi.”
“Alright sir. I am still grateful for the money you gave me.”
” It’s a token my dear, compare to what God did for me.”
He dropped her at the park. He brou-ght out his wallet and counted good amount of money from it.
” Take this! Pay your transportation fare and keep the rest.”
Ayo collected the money and thanked him. Mr Adeshina was about driving off when Ayo stopped him.
“Thank you sir. I appreciate you but before you go, my father said I should tell you not to worry. Forget the doctor’s report sir. Your sister will not be operated on. Before you get to the hospital, you will hear the good news of her safe delivering. A boy and a girl twins. Go in peace sir.”
He was just staring at Ayo amazingly when his phone rang, that her sister has delivered a set of twins. A boy and girl as prophesied.
Mr Adeshina came out of the car and hu-gged Ayo with tears on his eyes. “My sister has been married for years without a child. When God finally answered her, the doctor told her, she cannot deliver normally like every other woman. I have been worried. Ayo, you’re a blessing to me.”
“You nee-d to go now. Don’t keep the latest mum waiting”
“Thank you sis Ayo”
“I didn’t do anything sir. God did! I am just a vessel sir. Start going sir.
“Alright. May God go with you”
“Amen”
Mr Adeshina drove off while Ayo boarded her bus home.

Bro Kola and his wife were happy to receive their daughter home. They blessed God for the kind of child He gave them. A child who sponsored herself in school, who didn’t stress or trouble them. A child who was not discouraged when they lost their jobs. With Ayo at home, the chord of unity binding them became stronger and the devil couldn’t pene-trate their lives. They were challenged with Ayo’s disciplined and dedication to God. They also thanked God for all the exploit God used their daughter to accomplish.
“I am blessed Baba mi.”
“I and your mum know. It’s just that we didn’t take you serious when your gift started manifesting. We were afraid too that you were too young for that. Thank God our lovely father didn’t allow you to be discouraged.”
“I am a millionaire baba mi!
“How?” Adenike asked confused.
Ayo laughed and narrated how she got twenty-five million naira.
Her parents danced why she watched and laughed at their dance steps.
“I am building you a house”
“Eeeee! Haaaaaa! Omo mi ooo. God is indeed a wonder working God. We un-derestimated His mightiness.”
Kola and Adenike were loaded with too much joy. They prayed for her and Mr Adeshina whom God had used to bless their daughter.
“Ayo, you have brou-ght joy and solace to us. I have no house or car to my name but you have changed all that. You have brou-ght light into this family. Indeed you are more than ten sons. Kneel let us pray for you” he told her

AYOMIDE
Part 14

It was a Saturday and Ayo was hanging the clothes she washed, after which she will go to the market to purchase some food stuff. She found that she missed school life but now she has graduated, everything became too boring. She wondered when and where she will be posted for her primary as-signment. The persistent ringing of her phone jolted her out of her thought.
“Hello! Good morning!” How are you doing?”
“I am fine. Na wa for you Amarachi. You have forgotten me oo”
” It’s not like that. How have you been?”
“Great!”
” You better come to school to collect your letter of posting. I have been posted to Bayelsa state.”
Oh! That’s great oo. I will be in school on Monday then!
They gisted about school life.
“Prof Atama is dead. I heard he slept and never woke.”
“What a sad news. I wished he surrendered to God. Amarachi, there’s no repentance in the grave.”
“That’s why I am grateful to God for a second chance to live my life for God. I was so devastated when I discovered I had HIV but God showed me mercy and he stepped in to heal me.
“All glory to God”
“Do you know I visited more than three hospitals confirm if I still had HIV? She laughed so loud. “All were negative.”
“Please don’t get disconnected from God. He gave you a second chance. Use it well.
“I failed father before Ayo but I am not failing again”
“Alright Ayo I believe you.”
They chatted for a while before they said their good byes.
———————————–
Ayo was posted to Lagos State for her NYSC. Lagos with it’s crowdiness wasn’t familiar to her.

Ayo’s one year in Lagos State was characterized by her great exploit for God and humanity. She single handedly bought eighty plastic chairs for the church she chose to attend. On her first day in church, she observed that the people standing in the church were more than people seating. The church was situated at a central place but members find it difficult to support the work of God. Ayo refused to be a bench warmer. As usual, she was active. Trying to support in her own capacity. She didn’t like the fact that people were standing because there were no enough chair. By the next Sunday, people sat comfortably in the church and the pastor of the church announced it was corper Ayomide that provided chairs. From that day, she became a household name in the church. She became the darling of the Church.
“Who are you?” A sister asked her after Bible study one evening
“I don’t un-derstand your question?
“I know your type. What you doing in this church is called “High service or notice me.” You want to buy the pastor’s love by the things you do in this church. Since you started this church, the pastor has been singing your praises. Corper Ayomi did this. Corper Ayomi did that. Are you the only corper here?
“Look here, I am not interested in your pastor”
“You can pretend for all I care. I know your type. Let me inform you now since you don’t have eyes to see. The pastor has eyes only for my sister and make sure you confuse him. I am warning you now. Stay clear from pastor Greg.” She hissed and walked out on Ayomide.
Ayo watched her cat walked to the church entrance. She mused and laughed loud.
“Who’s interested in your pastor?”
———————————-
Four days later, the same sister confronted Ayo again.
“I am not interested in your pastor and if God decide to give him to me, there’s nothing you or anybody can do about it. Please let today be the last time you will talk trash to me.”

Ayo got home sad and started contemplating leaving the church to avoid unnecessary clash, embarras-sment and confrontation with anyone. She resolved to check out other churches in the environment. She was in for a big surprise when by early morning on Sunday the Holy Spirit started ministering to her.
“You must not leave that church because I will use you there mightily. The congregation is yet to experience my power and touch. Who created you Ayo?”
“You sir!”
“Who called you?”
“You sir!”
“Who will you listen to and obey?”
“You father!”
“Then don’t be discouraged or afraid. I am the Authority behind you. I am the one sending you to bring liberty to the oppressed. I love you Ayo and I will not withhold good things from you. I will root out anyone against my plan for the church. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. Trust me my child.”
———————————
Ayo got dressed excitedly that morning. Her father had spoken and so be it. She must not miss Sunday school clas-s. She rushed into the church compound and found pastor Greg in the premises.
“Good morning pastor!
“Ah! Corper Ayomi. How are you?”
“I am fine sir”
“Emm… I got a call that the choir mistress is sick and she won’t be able to make it to church today.”
“So sorry to hear sir.”
“Please don’t turn my request down. I nee-d someone to fill in for her. I have some sisters here and they all declined. I know you have never handled the microphone before but please use the voice any how it comes.” He told her smiling.
“Alright pastor. I will try my best.
Ayomide joined the Sunday School clas-s and when it was over she moved to the choir section. Eyes were watching her Wonder when did she join the choir. On this particular Sunday, the church was packed full. It was as if God himself went and brou-ght people to the church.

When it was time for ministration, the pastor instructed that the microphone be given to her. While people were murmuring, she saw some Angels standing behind her to back her up. She saw two tall angels at the entrance of the church ushering people in.

Ayomide experienced calmness and she knew her father was present. She couldn’t tell what happened but she knew God was dealing with a lot of people, He was settling difficult cases as she ministers. By the time Ayo was throu-ghwith ministration, pastor Greg was on his knees and more than half of the congregation were on the floor crying for mercy.
——————————-
“I am set to do a new thing in their lives because I love them” God would tell Ayo. She would roll on the floor in appreciation. God Himself announced her. People from different churches started inviting her for ministration. She would go and lie on the altar, God would tell her He is there or the altar is polluted. Sometimes, God do stop her from accepting some invitations.
“Don’t waste your time my child. I am not there. I can’t be found there. Other time He would tell her, “your destiny will be tampered with or they pastor want to collect what you carry. Always seek my permission first child”

Ayo never lacked anything. As she served God, God took good care of her. People were always eager to bless her.
“Would you like to stay in Lagos after your Nysc? a woman asked her
“No ma. I will return to my state oo.”she said smiling.”
“I have landed properties everywhere in this state. I have 2 plots close to the church. I want to give it to you. Since you joined this church, things changed and it changed for me positively.”
“Oh thank you ma. It’s not me but God ma. But please I want you to be aware that when I accept the land, I will give it to the church. Haven’t you noticed how the church increa-sed in population and no more place to accommodate people?” I have been praying for expansion ma”
“Well corper Ayo, I am giving the land to you. You’re a kind hearted person. Follow me let’s me show you the land.
