AYOMIDE
Part 8

The years that followed were trying ones for Ayo. She wasn’t happy with her parents and her parents in turn felt that Ayo was bigger than them. She was always afraid to tell them her dreams or visions. It was either they tell her to keep the messages to herself or warn her to stop bothering them.

“I am an Intercessor” bro Kola would tell her. “… and your mum too.”
“But the fire has quenched. Both of you are now very weak. There were times you and mum would pray and things would happen but I don’t see that fire any more. You’re too occu-pied with activities that when God is talking to you or showing you things, you don’t hear or see. How many times have you even prayed for me dad? You struggle throu-ghprayers. Remove those things that are standing against your prayer life Baba mi.” Ayo fired.

“Young woman listen, is it not good that you can pray for yourself? Moreover, I am not happy with you. It’s your fault that your mum lost our baby. You knew that she was going to lose that baby but you didn’t say it”
Ayomide was shocked to hear such statement from his father. She never her father held such a thing in his heart against her.
” But I said it dad”
” You didn’t! You only told your mum not to go with me.”
“I only had a bad feeling about it. I never knew she was going to lose the pregnancy. How can you blame me after these years”

“We will blame you Ayo.”Adenike told her coming out from her room. “You have only brou-ght us message of doom. The other time you told me that pastor Ezekiel’s wife has cancer and we must pray and I warned you not to tell her but you went ahead and told her”
“I nee-ded to mum. When a message comes like this you pray about it. You asked me not to tell her and yet you didn’t even pray for her one day. Well, the Holy Spirit asked me to tell pastor about it. Was I supposed to obey you and disobey God? Was I supposed to watch the devil eat up her flesh. Why are you angry mum? Pastor stood for his wife and she has gotten her healing. Is it because you saw her thanking me today that you are annoyed of? You and Dad have been trying to suppress the gift God has given me? I am God’s spokes man. I am a light that cannot be hidden. I am not like every other child. I must do the work of my father.”

Ayo was so sad. She couldn’t believe they still blamed her. No wonder they withdrew their love. She remembered when her mum returned from the hospital, there was no more laughter, or pray in the house. Whenever she tried going close to them, they tell her to go and read her books or watch television or she should find something else to do. Prayer was done when it was convenient or when any of them had bad dreams. They are always in haste to leave the house for work and they usually return late.

When sis Adenike lost her pregnancy, she was so upset and bittered. She blamed God for not warning her first or even protecting the child. She was so overwhelmed with grief. She told God one child is not enough for her. She nee-ds four children but God gave her one. Just one! She lamented. Sis Adenike stopped attending church or participate in any activity. Ones in a while she would enter the church on Sunday because pastor called.
“I hope all is well sis Adenike” pastor Ezekiel would ask
“All is well sir” she would reply.

“I am not satisfied with just one child. God delayed in giving me a child and when I am supposed to be a mother of two, He took the other one. He didn’t pity me. I have been faithful to Him yet He took the other one.” She lamented with tears mixed with catarrh.
After Adenike lost that pregnancy, she never because pregnant again. She drifted from God and because a complainer. She would wake early to prepare for church only to drop her Bible on the chair without attending church for that day.

One day she told Kola she wants to change church.
” Why?” he asked surprised
” The murmuring is too much”
” My dear, that is not enough reason to change church”
” It is oo. People whom I got married before have three or four children. Sis Nancy have two children with four years of marriage. If I continue to count you will see that God has blessed so many of them with many children. How old is our daughter? I am the only woman in the church with just a child. God hasn’t been fair to us” she said wiping out tears from her eyes.
“We can’t question God. We’re not going to church church because of what people are saying. Let’s take care of the only child God has given us. She will soon leave for the university. Let’s give her the best.” Kola told his wife, using his right hand to wipe her tears.

AYOMIDE
Part 9

The agents of darkness – territorial powers in the environment gathered. Four terrible and horrible looking demons. They were dwarfs with blood dribbling from their mouths.
“We have succeeded in quenching the fire of the Oluwafikayo’s. No more prayers. Hahahaha” the ugliest of them said. He has two horns on his head. “How they have dealt with me. My body is full of burns. When they pray, terrible fire from the righteous one deals with me.”
“Do you know how many people they have rescued from our grip with their prayers. Even if I refuse to oblige them, their prayers move the righteous one to act” the smelling one among them said. “The family was so United until we broke the unity. We have tried for years to break their unity. We waited. We were patient. Hahahaha! We saw an opening in their lives and we entered and took our position. We began to break their unity and love binding them together. hohohohahahaaaa”

“Yes we can operate freely in their lives. No more fire. The environment is ours. They will not bind and cast us again because there’s no more fire in them. They’re weak. Look at Kola..
“Oh! He is brother Kola. Hahaaa.” The shortest of them with an eye located on his forehead and two long ears said to others.
“Yes brother Kola is what he is known in his church. He used to be a terror to us but now weak. Sister Adenike was his backbone but she’s now against the righteous one. She’s swallowed by bitterness. She opened the door so wild for us and we have taken our place. Hahahaha!”
“We will kill them. We will eat their flesh and drink their blood. The righteous one cannot save them because they are careless.”
“That may not be possible” the big belly demon said. “Ayo will not allow it.”

“That is true. She’s has always been too hot. I have never been able to approach her. There’s an hedge around her. A light too strong to pene-trate sirrounds her also. She turns to fire whenever she prays. The other day she burnt me so badly. She rescued the boy we were about to co-ckhis blood. I was on operation that day and she disgraced and frustrated my efforts. When I wanted to retaliate, three mighty beings from no where came out to fight for her. I had no option than to flee.”

“We nee-d to teach her a lesson” smelling demon said. “When we’re able to quench her fire, then we will be able to deal with her parents”

“We will send the spirit of anger, immorality and discouragement to her. Let’s see how she will be able to escape from us”

These evil spirits were satisfied with their plans and conspiracy and they celebr@ted the downfall of the Oluwafikayo’s.

The ugliest of them clap it’s hands and a big screen appeared.
“Look!” He said. They’ll looked at the screen. Bro Kola and sis Adenike were sleeping soundly on the bed. Suddenly bro Kola stood up, went to the toilet then returned. He knelt beside the bed to pray but he dozed off.
“No more light or fire in the house” the all said. They laughed and disappeared.

Ayomide had already paid her school fees and accommodation when the news reached her that her parents lost their jobs in one day. It was a big shock. She couldn’t go home because her parents as-sured her that though they have lost their jobs, they will be fine. They wanted her to return to avoid unnecessary spending of money for transportation to and fro.

Just when she was to settle fully in the school, another news that her father got an accident reached her. He sustained a great injury and his car was beyond repair.
“What is happening to my parents Lord. Please don’t allow people mock us” she prayed.
Now that are parents are jobless how will she continue her education? She kept asking herself. “Father give me idea on how to survive this”
She was prudent in spending. Ayo was never carried away by frivolities. She was determined to graduate with good grades. By the time she was throu-ghwith her first year, she knew there was no way her parents will be able to support her. Bro Kola and his wife were already evicted from the house. After each semester, she would stay back at school because she didn’t want to stress her parents for transport. She had an idea she decided to go for it. She got a space at the market and started selling fresh pepper, tomatoes, onions and stew spice. She had very little money but she was patient and persistent. People started patronizing her. By the time the holidays was over, her parents couldn’t raise any money to support her. She was able to pay part of the school fees and buy books. Because she couldn’t afford accommodation fee alone, she looked for another female student to share the room with her. In so doing, the accommodation fee was splitting equally between them.

Ayo was ha-rdworking. She didn’t stop her business when school resumed. She goes to hostels to supply students who nee-ds her goods. She doesn’t allow anyone owe her. Her business didn’t stop her education or prayer life either. She was busy but focused. No matter how tired she was, she never eat outside. It’s either she cook herself or go to bed on empty stomach.
