Angel of mine episode 3

🎆Angel of mine🎆
Episode 3

I haven’t talked to him since last night. When he c@m£ with his mother, I just went to be-d and locked the door. Oh plea-se don’t judge me, I was against the whole thing, I made it clear to him that I didn’t want that woman to move in with us but he went ahead and took her in. He didn’t sleep in our be-droom, I heard him knocking but I ignored his call and heard him talking to his mother just few minutes later. Its morning alre-ady and I think he might have sle-pt in the guest room.

I walk out of our room on my way to work when I see her sitting on my sofa. She stands up and I catwalk in the dining room.

‘Good morning,’ she said with a smile spre-ad across her face.

Dear Lord the bad smell coming out of her mouth is just too much and I can’t handle it. I want to tell her to get out of my house but I choose not to respond and walk to the kitchen only to find my husband ma-king some breakfast.

‘Hello babe,’ he greets and he is in a good mood.

I wonder what’s ma-king him smile that much when he didn’t sleep in our be-droom. Wasn’t he stressed about that all night?

‘Hie,’ I greet back and walk to the fridge.

I gr-ab my bottle of water and put it in my bag. I am about to gr-ab the plate on the kitchen table thinking that it’s meant for me when he says,

‘That’s mum’s.’

He quic-kly takes the plate away and walks to the dining room. I am utterly shocked. Since when he wakes up in the morning to prepare breakfast and for his mother. I am mad at him right now. You want to know what hurts the most. He has never done that before, he has never prepared me something to eat but here is his mother sitting on my expensive sofa, eating on my plate and what? Taking my husband away from me. It hurts seeing him caring so much about her. He doesn’t see me anymore, he doesn’t recognize me anymore and I am just standing staring at them laughing out loud. I am about to walk out of the house when I feel a grip and suddenly turn back.

‘You were about to leave your lunchbox. I put something for you in there,’ he says and takes my bag, ‘I will walk you to the car.’

‘Have a lovely day my daughter-in law,’ she says to me and I just fake a smile as her son is walking me outside to my car.

Hubby is trying to be nice to me but I am not about to buy his act. I know he doesn’t want to feel bad; rather he just wants me to get along with his mother, love her as if she is my own but I will never love her. I do appreciate that she gave birth to my husband, Jamal but think about it. Would it have been so much better if Jamal’s mother was someone well-known, a clas-sy lady and someone that I can freely introduce to my friends? His mother from the village, I can’t even let my friends visit me at my house when she is around. Gosh that woman makes me lose appetite, her way of dressing up is nothing compared to my mother. She is just bad with everything and I so hate her wool hate, she always wearing makes her look like some woman from the streets.

‘I should have told you that I was coming, I am sorry,’ says hubby and I just love him a lot.

I mean if I want this witch to leave my house very soon then I might as well try to get along with her, I mean pretend to like her so that she can go back to the village. I took his hand and place it on my cheek; I smile at him and k!ssit.

‘I am sorry for coming out like that on you. I was mad that you didn’t tell me anything. I am sorry.’

‘It’s okay, I am the one who should have told you that I was coming. My apology on that, I love you,’ he says to me and hvgs me so ti-ghtly.

‘I love you too,’ I say to him.

He breaks the hvg and I can see something is worrying him. I instead make it clear to him.

‘I will take good care of your mother. I will love her like she is my own.’

Oh plea-se as if I mean every word that I am saying. I just don’t want him to worry and so I try to convince him that I will be kind to his mother. Hubby waves his hand at me as I am driving out of the yard to my workplace. He said that he wasn’t going with his mother to the hospital and so he was skipping work. Well after all he was the boss and answered to no one. I drive to work thinking of a plan, a strategy just anything that I could use on that woman.

I get to my workplace and it being a Tuesday, I am not usually in the office but pla-ying golf with the other shareholders and looking for potential investors as well. So I ask my vice if he has found a new secretary for me because I would nee-d one very soon but he tells me that they had invited over potential candid@t£s to fill in the position. He was very good with his work, one and only person that I would never let go of, trust me on that one.

I went to pl@ygolf with the team and it wasn’t that much exciting. You know being around men sometimes su-cks a lot but I was doing it for the business. I went home at around 7pm. I was so damn tired and all I wanted was to take a bath and sleep. I wish that was easy because I had to get home and prepare something to eat for my husband. Oh yes before I forget, we had another third person in the house. I parked my car out front and walked inside the house. I called out his name but he didn’t respond.

‘He went out,’ someone responds.

I turn back and see my mother-in law with a dishtowel in her hands.

‘And what were you doing?’ I ask rudely.

She smiles,

‘I was cooking. I am almost done. You can go and rest.’

Go and rest? Wait! Was this b***h telling me what to do in my house? No, she wasn’t supposed to be telling me what to do.

‘With all due respect mother,’ I said standing akimbo as I had put my bag on the couch, ‘who said that you are allowed to cook in this house? Isn’t it you c@m£ here as a sick person. I don’t see the reason why you should be cooking and in my house I have got rules. The reason why I don’t have a maid is that, I don’t trust outsiders and I am not about to trust you in my kitchen. Just what if you are faking this sickness and you want to kill me.’

‘No, I would never do that to you. My son loves you and so do I. I thought maybe you will be very tired from work and decided to cook for you.’

‘Well I am not eating your food. I am not hungry and let it be the last time you enter my kitchen and use my cooking utensils without my permission. I can’t have you tou-ching my things,’ I said as I walked to my room.

‘My apology for that,’ I heard her say and cli-cked my ton-gue.

Never was I going to let her disrespect me like this. God knows what she brou-ght from the village. Even when I could hear my stomach growling with hunger, I wasn’t and I was never going to eat her food. As I had said it before, I didn’t trust that woman with my life. Instead after a quic-k shower I decided to eat my fruit. My husband wasn’t around and I don’t know where he had gone to. I bet she knows but I wasn’t going to ask her. Speaking of the devil, he just walked inside the room with his l@pt©p bag.

‘Hey babe,’ he said and I was sitting on the be-d in my night dress.

‘Hey, how was your day?’

‘Hectic, I had to go to work after the hospital..’

‘I can imagine. Can I prepare you something to eat?’ I ask him as I am about to get off the be-d.

He is my husband and I care a lot about his health.

‘No,’ he quic-kly responds with a smile.

I wonder what’s there to smile about.

‘Did you eat?’

I thought maybe he had takeaway on his way home.

‘No, mum prepared my favorite dish,’ he said.

Ever since he c@m£ back it had always been about that woman he calls his mother. I didn’t get to respond because he just walked out before I could open my mouth. I honestly felt like hitting the wall. Did she honestly come over to destroy the relationsh!pI had with my husband. I get up on the be-d and walk to the dining room. I look at them as they are busy laughing and she is feeding him.

‘You are a great cook and the best cooker that I had ever met. I had missed this a lot.’

‘Thank you. I always love cooking for you. Murora (daughter-in law) must be tired but I left some for her.’

‘Yes she had a long day at work.’

‘Thank you Jamal.’

‘For what Ma.’

‘For marrying her,’ she said to his son and I know she doesn’t mean that.

‘I was lucky; she is the best thing that ever happened to me. Thank you for being supportive mother.’

She smiled,

‘Come on finish up your food.’

I walk back to my room with a lump on my throat. We all know that was just some pretense, she is up to something and I can feel it. Once I find out what is wrong with her, I will finish her off before her day of death. She doesn’t know the kind of a woman that married her son. That day Jamal c@m£ to be-d a little bit late and I pretended to be asleep when he called out my name. The next following day I woke up and threw the plates his mother had used in the bin. What if she had put something?
