✮ ✰ His strong woman✰ ✮
<< ~~~~~~~~~~~~~>>
Writer’s pov

She stood in front of the mirror, releasing a heavy breath. It had been weeks since she had received the news, and she still didn’t know what to do. She wiped away the tears that threatened to roll down her cheeks, and forced herself to appear composed. She took a deep breath, straightened her shoulders, and headed out of her room.

“Are you all right?” Wealth asked as soon as she walked out

“I’m fine,” she replied

“I was thinking we could talk about what the doctor….

“I’m hungry, so let’s talk about something else for now,” she said, her voice cold and distant. She walked past him and headed down the stairs, avoiding eye contact.

He watched her leave, feeling a knot in his stomach. She used to be warm and affectionate, but suddenly seems like a different person. He followed her downstairs, feeling helpless and lost.

“Is this the end of us?” he thought, unable to shake the feeling of dread.

“It’s your favorite,” he said, smiling as he pulled out a chair for her to sit down. She stared at the spread of food in front of her, then looked up at him, a blank expression on her face.

“Try it,” he said, his smile faltering a bit. “It’s delicious.”

She took a small spoonful of the food and put it in her mouth, chewing slowly. “How does it taste?” he asked, eager for her approval.

“How was your meeting today?” she asked, ignoring his question.

“I asked you first,” he said

“Did the board agree to the new product idea?” she asked, a hint of impatience in her voice.

“ why are you doing this?” He asked
“ doing what ? Asking about your company?” She asked

“Fine then, the meeting was okay and the board agreed. do you like the food? I can make you something els…..

“ you just said it yourself that it’s my favourite, why then wouldn’t I like it?” She asked coldly

“Great,” he said, his voice tight with annoyance. “Just eat then.”

With that, he turned and walked away, taking one last look at her before heading upstairs. He felt a mixture of anger and disappointment.

“ I’m sorry”she muttered and sniffed in, taking her hand to her tummy “I’m just scared”

She stood up after a few minutes and exhaled loudly putting on a cold look and made to go upstairs when her phone rang, she checked the caller and saw it was Sydney and answered it

“ hey, are you okay?” Sydney asked from the other side

“ I am fine and I’ve made up my mind to just break up with him. If I don’t break up with him now, we will definitely break apart cause of me” she breaks down,crashing down on her knees

“I really don’t think it’s a good idea,” Sydney said, sounding worried. “You’re going to break his heart, and that’s just not right.”

“I know,” Delyn said, her voice cracking. “But I need him to hate me so that if anything ever happens to me, he won’t feel too hurt about it.”

“But, Delyn,” Sydney pleaded. “Don’t do this.”

She hesitated, tears streaming down her cheeks. “I have to. I’m sorry.”

She ended the call, leaving Sydney feeling helpless and worried.

“You’re hurting yourself too,” her inner voice said, a quiet whisper.

“I know,” she whispered back. “But it’s for the best.”

She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, blinking a few times. When she opened them again, she saw him standing on the stairs, staring down at her, his expression unreadable.

“So that’s why you’ve been avoiding me, and why you’ve been trying to make me angry?” he asked, his voice soft but firm.

“Huh?” she stammered, taken aback. “I…I’m…”

“Do you really think this is better than the doctor’s idea?” he asked, walking down the stairs toward her.

“I’m scared,” she whispered.

He pulled her into a hug, his arms strong and warm around her. “It’s okay to be scared,” he said softly. “But the doctor’s idea is safer.”

They stood there, embracing each other in silence for what felt like hours. Finally, she broke the silence.

“Okay,” she said. “I’ll try it.”

“You’ll try what the doctor said?” he asked, sounding surprised.

She nodded. “I’ll give it a shot.”

He smiled, relief flooding his face. He kissed her forehead and pulled her in for another long, comforting hug.

“Don’t you ever think about breaking up with me again, okay?” he said, a note of scolding in his voice.

She looked up at him, pouting. “I really didn’t want to,” she said. “I was just scared.”

“No matter what, breaking up is not an option, okay?” he said, a serious look on his face.

She nodded, pouting out her lips for a kiss. He smiled and leaned in, kissing her deeply.

~~~>><<~~~ NEXT MORNING They got dressed and walked out of the house, hand in hand. He opened the door of his new car for her, and she got in, closing it gently. He got in on the driver's side and started the engine. The car rolled out of the driveway and onto the road. "Please reschedule the meeting for tomorrow," he said into the phone, his voice authoritative. He hung up, turning to look at her with a smile. She smiled back, feeling a sense of pride at his confidence. She looked out the window, taking in the scenery as they drove. A few minutes later, they pulled up to the hospital, and he turned off the car. They got out and walked hand in hand to her doctor's office. When they arrived, they had to wait in the waiting room for a few minutes while the doctor finished up with another patient. They took a seat and the doctor greeted them with a friendly smile. "How are you feeling?" he asked. "I'm okay, but a little nervous and scared," she said, swallowing hard. "It's not as bad as it seems," the doctor reassured her. "It's actually the best thing that could happen, given the circumstances." "I know," she said, but her voice wavered. "It's just the thought of seeing my baby in an incubator that's really scaring me." "That's completely understandable," the doctor said, patting her hand. "Let's wait until the baby is six months old," the doctor said. Wealth's eyes widened in surprise. "But I thought you said three months!" she exclaimed. "I know, but we've been doing some more research, and we think that six months is a safer option," the doctor explained. "Remember, this is a preterm delivery, so there are a lot of risks involved. The longer we can wait, the better the outcome will be for the baby." "But if I can wait until six months, why can't I just wait until nine months?" Delyn asked, "This isn't about waiting until nine months," the doctor said. "This is about your life, and the risks involved in labor.Like I said, there’s a possibility of you going into labor earlier and that could endanger your life, or the life of your baby, or both. Please trust me when I say that this is the safest option for you and your family." “ thank you doctor” wealth said and exhaled staring at her. “ fine then. We will wait” she muttered and smiled faintly "You need to be very careful for the next three months to make sure you don't go into labor too soon, as that could put everything at risk," the doctor advised. "Take it easy, get plenty of rest, and listen to your body. If you feel any unusual pain or discomfort, let me know right away." "I will,"she replied, feeling a little overwhelmed by it all. “ thank you” she added "Don't forget to pick up the prescriptions I sent you before you leave," the doctor reminded her. "I'll go to the pharmacy and get them," she said, smiling gratefully. They said their goodbyes, and they left the office, feeling a bit dazed by all the information they’d just received. The days pass by, each one seeming to last an eternity, as her belly grows bigger and bigger. She finds herself getting out of breath more easily, and she feels her body becoming heavier. "Are you okay?" Sydney asks, noticing her discomfort. "I really could use a glass of water," she replies, and Sydney rushes to the kitchen to get her a drink. She sips it slowly, savoring the cool, refreshing liquid. But as the days go by, her pregnancy takes on a life of its own. The days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. 3 months passed, then 6, then 8. As the months dragged on, her discomfort grew. She spent hours on the couch, feeling like she was going to burst with frustration. Then the doctor's call came in, and she sighed in resignation. "I'm so tired of following the doctor's orders," she said, letting the phone ring. "In one month, I'll have this baby my own way, no matter what anyone says." "Hey, love," Wealth said as he walked into the house, looking tired and worn out. He walked over to her and planted a kiss on her cheek. "Why not on the lips?" she asked with a frown. "Sorry," he chuckled, and kissed her lips instead. He sank down onto the couch next to her, smiling at her. "What's with the smile?" she asked. "Did you win a lottery or something?" "No, but I got the contract!" he replied excitedly. Her face lit up at the news. "Congratulations!" she said, a huge smile on her face. "The doctor called me earlier," he began. But she cut him off. "No, please, not the doctor again," she said, rolling her eyes. "I'm not going to give birth early, so stop worrying." "You're the strongest woman I know." He said and she couldn’t help,but to blush. "You should go freshen up," she suggested. He nodded and stood up wearily, looking around the room. "Where's the maid?" he asked. "Oh, she went out to get me something," she replied. "What kind of something?" he asked, his curiosity piqued. "That's for me to know and you to find out, my dear boyfriend," she said with a sly smile. He laughed and headed upstairs to shower. After a while, he came back, and they ate dinner together. He helped her up the stairs to their bedroom, and they got into bed. She snuggled up next to him, despite the growing bump between them. Soon, they both drifted off to sleep. ~~>><<~~~ Weeks after Her screams filled the labor room as she pushed with all her might, panting heavily and sweat building on her forehead. "We may need to prepare for a C-section," the doctor said calmly. "No! I don't want that!" she yelled, pushing harder than ever. "Just let me do it myself!" "You've got this, love," Wealth said, gripping her hand tight, his own heart racing with fear. He'd never witnessed anything like this before. But he knew he had to stay strong for her. "You're almost there!" Aurora and Coretta said in unison. They were both there with her, providing support and encouragement. Finally, the head of the baby emerged, and the doctor quickly supported it as it emerged, making it easier for Delyn. A few minutes later, the baby let out a loud cry, and was placed on Delyn's chest. "We need to deliver the other one now!" the doctor shouted, giving Delyn a swift, hard slap on the thigh. She was now flagging, and he needed her to focus. "You can do it, love," Wealth encouraged her, and she looked into his eyes, nodding. She closed her eyes and pushed as hard as she could. The first baby was out, and that made it a little easier for the second one. Soon, the head began to emerge. "I can't do this," she said, her voice strained. "Yes, you can!" the nurses shouted, giving her thigh a hard slap. "We've planned so many things, we've picked out names," Wealth said, holding her hand tight. "Please, you can do this." She took a deep breath and pushed as hard as she could, panting heavily as the baby let out a loud cry. "Oh my God," Wealth said, wiping away a tear that had rolled down his cheek. He couldn't believe what he was seeing - his children were finally here. "Let's get them cleaned up," the doctor instructed, and the nurses took the babies to the other side of the room. Their cries filled the air,as Wealth felt his heart swell with pride. He looked at Delyn, who gave him a faint smile. "She's bleeding!" the doctor said in alarm, and they began to hurry with the procedure. "I'm going to die here," Delyn muttered weakly. "No, you're not," Wealth said firmly. "We're going to get through this, and we're going to raise our children together. I promise you that." He tried to smile, but it was forced. He was terrified, but he had to be strong for her. "We need everyone out of the room, please," the doctor said, looking around. "I can't leave her!" Wealth protested. "You have to, right now," the doctor insisted. "No, please don't make him leave!" Delyn stammered, fear evident in her voice. "I won't leave you, I promise," Wealth said, holding her close. Seeing this, the doctor relented, but the nurses ushered Aurora and Coretta out of the room. ~~<>~~~
“Oh my God!” Sydney exclaimed, her eyes wide as she stared at the two baby boys.
“I told you I could do it,” Delyn said proudly, a smile on her face.
“Congratulations, sweetie!” Mima said, tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Thank you,” Delyn replied, smiling.
Suddenly, Annalisa burst into the room, yelling, “Congratulations, big sis!” and rushed to hug Delyn. But Wealth stopped her before she could reach her.
“But why can’t I hug her?” Annalisa asked, her brows furrowed in confusion.
“Not right now,” Wealth said firmly. ”
“Okay,” Annalisa said, nodding in understanding.
“How are you feeling?” Mr. Connor asked.
“I’m okay,” she replied, giving him a weak smile.
“I’m an auntie!” Sophie exclaimed, beaming.
They all laughed, and Sydney said, “We’re their godparents! Mima is the first godparent, and I’m the second!”
“No one is sharing the uncle position with me!” Ryan declared.
“Dylan!” Lisa admonished. The room fell silent, and everyone looked down, their smiles fading.
“I’m sorry,I didn’t mean to” Lisa muttered
“It’s okay,” Sydney said, her voice light and upbeat. “We’re just so happy to welcome these little ones into our family!”
The tension in the room dissipated, and everyone started smiling again.
“We have to figure out their names,” Mima said, a thoughtful look on her face.
“We already did that” Wealth and Delyn said in unison
“So what names did you decide on?” everyone asked in unison, turning to Wealth and Delyn expectantly.
“Oliver and Otis,” Wealth replied, and the room filled with oohs and aahs.
“Those are perfect names for them!” Coretta said, and everyone else nodded in agreement.
“I’ll be back in a sec,” Wealth said, standing up.
“Where are you going?” Delyn asked, not wanting to let go of his hand.
“I’ll only be gone for a few minutes,” he promised. She pouted but released his hand after sometime
He made his way out of the room, the sound of happy voices fading behind him. He couldn’t help but smile – this was a joyful day, full of hope and promise. He made his way to the doctor’s office and found him inside.
“I need to talk to you about something,” Wealth said.
“Do you really want me to do this?” the doctor asked, a look of concern on his face.
“Yes,” said firmly.
“I will explain everything to her when I know she’s in a good place. I don’t want her to go through all of this again. We have two beautiful boys, and that’s enough for me. I can’t bear the thought of seeing her in pain again.”he said
The doctor nodded and gave him a reassuring smile.
“I understand. I’ll do as you wish,” he said.
With that,he left the office and headed back to the room where the loud cheerful voices echoes
