EPISODE 15

> ELSA <
I woke up from my de-ep slumber and stretched out on the corners of the couch.
Wow that sleep was awesome. I thought as I stood up, glance at the time to see it my cue to get re-ady for work.
+
I got dressed and re-ady for work, I c@m£ out of the house and lock the door. Just as I was about stepping out from the porch, my phone starts to vibr@te and ring inside my bag…

I looked at the caller and it was my mom,
Why is she calling? I thought.
I picked the call and placed the phone on my ear.
“Hello… Mom?” l said softly
am I speaking to Elsa?” A female voice said and I was surprised.
“Yes this is Elsa and this happens to be my mom’s phone number!” I stated.
“Well okay Elsa, can you make it to ceruse hospital?” The woman asked.
My heart skipped a beat.

“What? Why?” I asked.
“Can you make it?” The woman asked.
“Why the hell would I want to come there if I don’t know what I am coming there to do!” I yelled.
The woman sighed. “Okay fine, now take de-ep breaths” she instructed but I didn’t even listen.
“Your mom got into an accident and she has been admitted to ceruse hospital!” The woman stated and I g@sped, cut the call and in no time, I was taking the bus to ceruse hospital.
My heart wasn’t even beating normally, it beating so loudly slamming against my rib cage and I almost lost it in the bus.
Mom…
.
I got to ceruse hospital and I rushed throu-gh the wi-de and glas-s doors, I didn’t even know where to head to cause so many people were pas-sing by, both patients and doctor.
I finally sp©tted the receptionist behind her desk and hurried over.
Before she could even say welcome back or whatever cra-p they say, I alre-ady yelled my mom’s name and she gave me her room number.

I hurried to the ward and getting there, I pushed the door open and walked in.
I broke down immediately seeing my mom fast asleep and in a horrid state. She had bandages on very p@rt of her b©dy, including her forehead.
The doctor that stood beside her be-d turned to me.
“And you are?”
“I am Elsa, her daughter” I introduced and the man nodded.. “Well clean your tears young lady, you should be happy your mother is in luck right now. Be thankful she didn’t lose too much blood and also not all her lim-bs were fractured.
Well I am thankful, but still…
I rather have this happen to me than my mom, it really hurts and though the doctor said I should st©p crying but I can’t st©p, it’s just too ha-rd to look at my mom right now.
“Well I as-sure you, she’s going to be okay, now wipe those tears away! It’s a good thing you’re here, she was unconscious for a while, but now she’s asleep but don’t worry she’ll wake up soon!” the doctor said and walked out of the room.

I moved closer to my mom and cried even more, like a baby.
I dried my tears and brou-ght out my phone from my bag.
I called my dad, I wanted him to know.
“Dad?” I felt a lump on my throat.
“Oh Elsa? You’re calling me? Okay this is surprising!” my dad laughed.
“Dad?” I sniffed.
“Yeah? What’s wrong?” My dad asked in a very serious tone.
“I’m at the hospital!” I said.
“What? Are you okay? What happened to you–
“No, mom got into an accident!” I cut him off.

“What? How? Can I speak to her?”
“You can’t, she’s seriously wounded and asleep right now!” I breathed.
“You know I can’t leave work right? But tell me the name of the hospital”. My dad said and I breathed and told him the name of the hospital.
“Don’t worry Elsa, it’s going to be okay, okay? I can tell you’re crying, but don’t cry it’s going to be okay, I’ll be there as soon I get off work” My dad said before we end the call.
I st©pped crying and just watched my mom.
I stayed like that for hours, it has been three hours and I’ve been with my mom, she still asleep and I was getting a bit scared.
The doctor who I met here when I first c@m£, had walked in several times to check if my mom was awake.
But still yet…
I flin-ched when my phone starts to ring and immediately picked the call when I brou-ght it out from my bag and didn’t even bother to check who was calling.
“Hello?” I said into the phone, my voice failed me though, it sounded weak and shaky
“Oh hello Elsa!” Mrs hvggins voice sounded so calm.
I sighed remembering how prepared I was to go teach Jason and now this happened.
“Yeah so, I’m sorry about bailing on Jason, something c@m£ up… My voice starts to seize and my eyes starts to get we-t.

“Are you okay? Why do you sound so–
“I’m not, getting re-ady for work today, I was called and told my mom got into an accident and now I’m at the hospital with her and I’m really scared cause she’s not waking up and I don’t know what to do!” I ranted, well cried and Mrs hvggins let out an heavy g@sp.
“Oh my God honey, I am so sorry about that. Okay so can we come to the hospital like right now?” Mrs hvggins asked.
“I don’t know, I mean it’s late and I think it’s almost an hour drive from there to here, I don’t want to trouble you guys, but you can come tomorrow, thank you very much though!” I expound.
“You’re welcome and I un-derstand, what hospital are you?” Mrs hvggins asked.
“Ceruse” I said.
Everyone knows ceruse.

“Okay we’ll be there tomorrow, don’t think about anything and just think positive, your mom will be fine okay, I promise!” Mrs hvggins stated and I breathed out calmly.
“Okay thank you!” I said.
“Good! You’re welcome now, Good night then!” Mrs hvggins said and we both hung up it is so nice to have someone cheer you up like that.
I shoved my phone inside my bag and when my eyes darts to my mom on the be-d, I saw her eyes wi-dely open and I g@sped immediately…
I ran out of the room and bu-mped into the doctor that has been checking on her, and with my expression he alre-ady knew what was going on.
The doctor ran into the ward with me and my mom was still looking around not being able to to speak. Or maybe she’s trying to decipher her situation.

“Hello, Mrs. Reina can you see me?” the doctor asked and my mom nodded slightly.
“Can you speak?” The doctor asked.
“Yeah I can” my mom added and her voice didn’t sound strained at all and I was so glad.
“Okay good!” the doctor said. “You got into an accident, Incase you’re wondering why you are here, and don’t worry you fine!” The doctor smiled and my mom nodded and let out a “Sure”.
The doctor walked out of the room and quic-kly rushed up to my mom.
“Oh Mom, I’m so glad you’re awake!” I said and starts to tear up.
“I’m so sorry honey!” my mom apologized.
“Why are you apologizing mom? It’s not your fault!” I stated and placed my hand gently on her arm.
“I hate seeing you like this” she said watching my eyes as it leaked with tears.
I quic-kly cleaned my tears and sniffed. “Okay look, I’m not crying, not crying anymore, now plea-se don’t blame yourself!” I said and she smiled.
“I didn’t even know when this happened, I was at work I know I couldn’t make transfers with my phone, cause it was acting up and I just had to go to the bank. And on my way there, all this happened!” my mom sighed..
“Well as long as you’re awake and talking I’m kind of relieved!” I said and she smiled.
“So you didn’t go to work because of what happened right?” My mom asked…
Why would I?
“Yeah I couldn’t!” I said and my mom sighed.
The door pushed opened and my dad walked in, his eyes dart to my mom and I and he sighed and shook his head.
“Reina… He called softly and walked up to us.

“George, what are you doing here by this time of the day, aren’t you supposed to be working by now?” my mom asked!
“No I took a leave for you, I won’t be going to work tomorrow and next for you, and I also got permitted to come home early!” my dad said.
“What? George, no, I’m fine. You both can’t just st©p working, one of you must go to work, I am fine.” my mom tried to be br@ve.
“Reina look at your left leg and your left arm, look at the band aid on your n£¢k! I’m not going anywhere” my dad sighed and I nodded in agreement.
My mom turned to me “Well, you’re going to work and don’t try to even act like your father!”
“Mom??” I called and she rolled her eyes.
She’s one tough woman.
“And you should start going home it’s getting late!” she said.
“I don’t want to!”
“Go! Your dad will be here with me!” my mom almost yelled.
My dad gave me a look not to argue with her.
“Fine! But I’m coming back here tomorrow morning!” I stated and she smiled.
“Okay then goodnight dear!” She smiled.
“Goodnight,” I said and walked out of the ward

Being home alone was really awkward, couldn’t st©p thinking about my mom and I couldn’t st©p feeling relieved of how she talks and acts like nothing is going on.
I later fell asleep and set my alarm for the next day.
-.
I woke up the next morning and in no time, I had freshen up, dressed and had hurried to the hospital.
As I made my way to the front door of the hospital, I saw a lady, she was looking pretty familiar from behind. I immediately guessed who it might be and when I got close I could alre-ady smell her cologne.

“Mrs. hvggins?” I called and she turned.
“Oh Elsa, oh my, oh thank God I found you here, I was wondering where I would even go, if I walk in throu-gh that doors!” Mrs hvggins breathed out, looking fantastic with her fancy style of dressing.
“I’m so glad you could make it Mrs. hvggins thank you for coming!” I tell her. She is really nice.
“It’s nothing, now lead the way!” she smiled.

Mrs. hvggins met my mom and well they vibe-d as two mothers, my dad was left out during the whole conversation and I could tell he was bored. Cause he’d glance at me recently and give me the -what the hell are they are saying?- look.
And then Mrs hvggins start to tell my mom how good I am when it comes to teaching, she didn’t leave out the strict p@rt about me, and she said she likes how I am to Jason. Well that’s that.
Well since my mom f0rç£d me to leave, I left the hospital early and went home to arrange my books for Jason’s lesson.
Well I was happy, for the fact my mom’s happy and fine, seeing that she’s having a good time with Mrs hvggins and the doctor said the injuries won’t affect her in anyway even when it’s healed.

I was surprised when I got to the hvggins residence cause Jason was standing outside, I think he was waiting for me and seeing me he smiled and walked up to me.

“Were you waiting for me?” I asked.
“I’ve been waiting since yesterday!” He said as he opened the door for the both of us to walk in.
“Well you know what happened right?” I said adjusting my hand bag on my shoulder.
“Yeah I did, sorry about that, let me help you with this!” Jason said taking my bad from my hand.
I paused and looked at him. “Did you wake up on the wrong side of your be-d this morning?” I asked narrowing my eyes at him.
“What do you mean by that?” He laughed nervously.
“Cause I can clearly remember the first day I got here, you were like so mean, I asked you to help me with my bag but you said we both have lim-bs, and now helping me with my bag when I didn’t ask you to, is just something you don’t see everyday!” I stated and he grinned.
“Well, I don’t know, the more you’re here the more we’re wasting time come on let’s go up.” he rushed his words and left in light speed.
Or did he take the wrong breakfast, why is he being awkward today?

EPISODE 16.

“And then the seven equals two, that’s nine and well that’s the answer!” I sighed and dropped my pen.
“Okay that was pretty tough! Let’s just give it a go!” Jason said and gr@bb£d his pen and starts ro solve.
Okay so strangely Jason has been listening to me, obeying everything I say, not teasing me or ma-king fun of anything I do or don’t, he has been pretty nice and quiet since today’s lesson began and I was just, so speechlessly surprised.

Jason dropped his pen and moved his book closer for me to see. “There”.
“You said it was pretty tough but you solved it all without a mistake and you answered it all correctly, you’re really improving Jason!” I said as I marked his work.
“Well thanks, you’re a pretty good teacher yourself!”
“Wow!” I said.
“What?” he looked at me.

“This is the first time you’ve ever given me a compliment, I’m flattered!” I smiled.
“No, that’s not true I give you compliments all the time.!” Jason laughed.
“No, or should I rephrase all our lessons?” I gave him a stern look.
He shook his head negatively “But I’ve once called you h0t?” he narrowed his eyes.
“And that was one inappropriate compliment!” I tell him.
“But it still counts as a compliment!”.
“Whatever!” I rolled my eyes.
“Okay so now let’s move to th–
“Wait I have to tell you something, so why I think your teaching is great, is because you won’t believe what happened yesterday!” Jason said excitedly.
“Okay? What happened?” I suddenly got curious.
“So I was lost in clas-s yesterday, seriously zoning out and completely unaware of what the math teacher was explaining yesterday!”
“Wait!” I interrupted. “You went to math clas-s?” He asked.
He nodded shyly.
“Now that’s one big of a good step, I am a really good influence!” I smiled.
“Okay, I am talking about me here, don’t make this about you!” he sighed ma-king me laugh.
“Okay go on!” I persuaded and he sighed and continued.

“I was completely lost during the whole math session and then the teacher called out to me and brou-ght me back from my reverie, and then she called me to the board to solve the equation she has been explaining since forever, she called me to solve it for payback. But when I looked at the equation, I laughed at her in my mind and walked up to the board, the equation reminded me of you, cause you alre-ady taught me that and I could hear your voice explaining it in my head, well my point is, I killed the equation on the Board and left everyone jaw hanging!” Jason expound and my eyes never left his.
“And your point in the whole story is?” I asked blinking my eyes ra-pidly.
“My point is that I am pointing out how good of a teacher you are!” Jason huffed.
“Well I don’t un-derstand why you’re telling me or pointing out what I alre-ady know!” I tea-sed and he rolled his eyes.
“Your ego is way higher than I thought!” Jason stated.
“My ego?” I scoffed.
“Yeah!” he said.
“Okay, I don’t have the strength to keep up with your… Look let’s just move on to another t©pic okay?” I sighed, “And look” I added, fli-pping the few pages remaining in the textbooks.
“We only have few more pages to go!” I smiled.
“This isn’t few, this is math, just one t©pic can take like three whole days to solve!” Jason complained.
Well he is right!
“But with your smart br@in and my awesome teachings we will be done in no time!” I said as I moved the text book closer to me.
“You give yourself the hypes you don’t deserve!” Jason stated.
“Excuse me!” I turned to him.
“Nothing, let’s just continue with our work!” he grinned nervously and we continued anyways.
I started to feel a little tired and it was still early, and I can’t leave before my time. So instead I gave Jason a whole lot of equations after explaining them one by one.

“Are you trying to kill me?” he asked as I rested my arms on his desk.
“Well I am, cause you’ve been disrespectful, but today you’re being surprisingly nice, but still solving math won’t kill you okay?” I smiled and he sighed.
“Ugh, you’re so mean!” He said.
“I don’t know why but I enjoy it when you complain!” I grinned.
“That’s because you’re mean!”
“I am not mean, honestly, I’m just feeling a little tired, my head feels h0t inside and I just gave you that to kill time, till it is time for me to go, so now plea-se just cooperate!” I sighed.
“You’re tired? Well okay, sorry for calling you mean! You can totally rest on the be-d if you want to!” Jason offered.
“Oh, look at you being a gentleman, I can grade your attitude seventy nine over hundred today, you’ve impressed me!” I said standing up.
“Why seventy nine, you can just add the remaining one and make it eighty!” He joked.
“Well I could, but some thing is holding back that one and I wont tell you now just let me rest.” I said and sat on his be-d. It was soft and wi-de.
“Got an awesome duvet right here, now don’t mind me or don’t mention me slee-ping or resting my head on this be-d to anyone cause I am going to kill you!” I said and rested my b©dy on his be-d, my Jeans were ti-ght and uncomfortable but still I was very tired and the be-d welcomed me.

“What’s so wrong with you slee-ping on my be-d?” Jason asked, and when I glanced at him from his be-d which was opposite the be-d, I could see he was solving the math, well I could see only his back but I could tell.
“With me slee-ping on your be-d, there are many wrongs!” I stated.
“Okay then tell me how?” Jason paused and turned to the be-d.

I sat up “First! People would think I am so lazy, that I sleep during our lesson and why would I ever sleep at my student’s house, what teacher does that?”.
Jason laughed, “Okay first you said people would think? And who are these people you speak of?”. “I don’t know, you can go off and blab about this to your friends” I shrugged.
“Is that how low you think of me Elsa?” Jason tries to sound offended, but he was a bad actor.
“No that is not how I think of you but isn’t that what teenagers do? they tell each other each and every thing that happens to them to their friends.” I explained.
“Well I am not like that and also you know you’re not lazy you know that yourself and slee-ping here isn’t that bad everyone gets tired and you’re also more than a teacher here!” Jason said.
“More than a teacher? What do you mean by that?” I la-id back on the be-d but placed my elbow on the be-d and placed my head on my palm so I would be able to see Jason as he spoke.
“Well, you know my mom… She… She said you’re more than a teacher here, her words not mine! And so slee-ping here isn’t that bad!” Jason said ma-king me roll my eyes.
“Okay! Whatever you say!” I said and placed my head on the pillow.
“Now focus on your books and st©p looking at me.!” I said and closed my eyes.
I heard his small chuckle and before I knew it every little sound I hear starts to fade and I was alre-ady half way asleep.

#JASON

Everywhere was quiet, my room suddenly starts to feel empty as Elsa fell asleep, she must be pretty tired, she must have been worried about her mom, it’s nice of her to still wants to teach me despite the way things are with her mom.
Minutes later and I was done with the work she gave me. I closed the book and I sighed. I didn’t know what to do anymore, I was really bored.
I stood up and walked up to the be-d too see Elsa slee-ping up straight, some p@rts of her front hair was glued to her forehead because of the tiny sweats she was having up there. .
And being the nice gentleman she called me today, I turned on the Air conditioner to the perfect anti heat cool temperature and when the house bec@m£ cool, in her sleep Elsa let out a relieved smile and it made me smile.

Yeah I must be crazy! I thought to myself as I realised I’ve done nothing but stand in front of Elsa to watch her sleep.
I quic-kly walked out of the room and gently closed the door so as not to slam it and wake her up.
I walked into the kitchen and met Dessera our house cook.
“Good evening Jackson” she greeted.
“It’s Jason!” I corrected as I opened the fridge to gr-ab a bottle of water.
“I am so sorry, Mine is always forgetting!” she laughed nervously. My mom warned me about her broken English.
It was broken it was shattered, she used to live in the country side and she’s used to talking in her native or should I say scary language or so, so English must be foreign and new to her.
But forgetting my name?

“Sorry, I am still… Trying… to un-derstand the… Name” She said little by little.
“You’re still trying to get familiar with the name?” I said in a way she would un-derstand her ‘un-derstand’ should he replaced with ‘get familiar’.
She silently repeated the word familiar and I just looked away and attem-pted to my water.

“So I was just preparing for supper!” She said.
“You mean dinner?” I gave her a look.
“Yes” she nodded.

“You’re not in nineties, no one calls it supper but dinner.” I stated.
“My apologies, so how is your teacher Melissa?” she asked and I sighed heavily.
“It’s Elsa, not Melissa and she’s fine why are you asking?”
“Cause… Your mother,… Called the phone and… Told me I should let her stay for supp… Diner… No.. Dinner!” Dessera explained.
“I don’t think she’d stay but you can ask her to, cause I don’t think she would listen to me if I ask her!” I dropped the empty bottle on the kitchen counter and sighed.
“Jackson… Johnson.. Ugh sorry Jason!” Dessera called and laughed nervously.
“You know what just call me whatever you like as long as it has a J and a ‘son’ were good to go!” I said.
“Okay! What I wanted to say, was, your mother… she said… You really like your teacher!” Dessera stated.

“Huh?” I turned to her. “What do you mean by that, what do my mom meant by that and of course I like Elsa, because she’s the best teacher ever, if you had a good teacher wouldn’t you like him or her too?” I asked.
“of course I would and that why… What your mother meaning!” Dessera expound.
Of course that what’s my mother meant, what kind of like was I thinking.
And then Dessera shocked me with her outrageous question.

“But do you like your teacher in another way?” she asked.
“And where is that question coming from?” I raised my brows at her.
“From me,” she replied and when she noticed my eyes she quic-kly bent her head down and apologized seeing that I am not re-ady to answer that question.

“Okay Dessera, I really wanted to keep you company but you ruined it, now goodbye and enjoy cooking alone,” I said as I started to walk out of the kitchen.
“Okay, thank you for st©p by!” she added in her shattered English.
I walked out of the kitchen, I never wanted to keep her company from the start. I rather watch Elsa sleep than watch Dessera cook.
I sat on the third step of stair on the staircase and sighed. I was feeling a bit different today and I could tell, my head was running a question and my mind was running another question I couldn’t un-derstand, I was just so confused. But I know all was focused on Elsa. And then the question asked clearly in my head.
