A wish Episode 7 & 8

🌼A Wish🌻
Chapter 7

Its been a week since I started living with Xavier, Damon and Alex and to tell you the truth its amazing, I was no longer bullied in school, whenever students see me they scramble away and even Zayn st©pped pestering me, but he still gives me death glares when he sees me in the clas-s or hallway. At home, yes at home. Am now comfortable in staying with the boys, but I made sure to set some rules down. I cant have one of them walking in on me dressing up.
Yesterday, I had to go to the court with Xavier, Damon and Alex to testify against Liam. I was nervous but Xavier had put a comforting hand on my shoulder, telling me everything was going to be alright.
When I saw Liam and Richa-rd in the court, I had cowered away, even from afar Liam can still make me feel like a prey with just a single glare. I felt so uncomfortable with all the people seated in the court, especially when the judge asked me to state my complaint. With a shaky breath, I had said everything Liam did to me, not leaving a single detail out. It was ha-rd but I remained calm and composed.
I had to lift my shi-t up to my stomach level, where there was a big red mark from a burning knife Liam once pressed on my lower back. Everyone in the court g@sped when they had seen it, even the judge stared at me with pity before fixing a glare full of hatred on Liam. Liam then got 20 yrs in prison while Richa-rd got 4 yrs. Xavier was angry, he wanted Richa-rd own to be a little longer but the judge said since it was attem-pted r@p£, so he’s not going to stay long in jail.
Right now I was currently seated in Xavier’s car with Damon and Alex. I glanced at my watch and saw that it was alre-ady 7:30. Damon and Alex woke me up at exactly 7:00 clock! I was so annoyed with them cause its saturday which means I can get enough sleep, but no, Damon just begged me to get dressed. We didn’t inform Xavier, and he was still asleep. I just hope his reaction won’t be bad.
“Are you sure Xavier isn’t going to get mad that we left without informing him and took his car?” I question Damon who had both his hands on the steering wheel while humming a pop song.
“Well… As long as we don’t damage his car, and don’t worry he won’t be that mad we left the house.” Damon voice has a hint of nervousness in it. “But we’ll be fine.” I eye him for a while then decided to drop the t©pic, relaxing my back against the car seat as I re-leased a breath I didn’t even know I was holding.
I frown slightly when Damon pu-ll-ed over at a parking lot, a lot of cars where parked in the place and I glanced at the front to see that we in one of the most expensive malls in the city. I’ve seen the place in the news paper but not in person! The building was really hvge, it can probably contain thousands of people. Even from the mere sight of the place, one will know that what they sell inside can pay a person’s house rent. I was so fascinated by the view of the mall that I didn’t notice when Damon and Alex c@m£ out of the car, and Alex trying to get my attention by constantly snapping his f!ngersin front of my face.
“Oh for God sake Brielle!” Damon said in a frustrated tone.
I blinked my eyes, looking up at Damon without a confused expression on my face. “Huh?”
Alex chuckled. “You zone out a lot.”
“Sorry.” I apologized sheepishly. Damon nodded and I got out of the car, following Alex and Damon, wondering why we are going towards the direction of this expensive mall.
“Um Damon.” I called, when we reached the entry of the building.
“Yes?”
“Why are we here?”
“Um…” Alex scratched the back of his n£¢k, looking down for a moment before raising his head to meet my eyes. Unlike Damon and Xavier, Alex and I are exactly the Same height so I don’t have to crane my n£¢k up to meet his eyes. I sometimes wonder how he doesn’t feel intimid@t£d while standing close to his brother.
“No offence Brielle but you nee-d clothes.” His tone wasn’t blunt or harsh, just soft like how he always speaks.
“What?” My mouth was opened, trying to process what he just said. Why do I nee-d clothes? My clothes are enough for me so I don’t see why I have to get more clothes.
“Brielle.” Damon said softly, not his usual pla-yful or c0cky voice. He placed his hand on my shoulder. “Did Liam ever gave you money to buy clothes for yourself.”
I shook my head, looking down. “Liam st©pped buying me clothes when I turned 11 so I had to work on summer jobs just to get clothes my size. The pay wasn’t much but I still manage to get some from cheap malls. Look Damon I appreciate all that you guys have done for me, the care and concern but I cant accept the fact that you guys want to get me new clothes in one of the most expensive malls in the city. Living, eating and slee-ping in your mansion alre-ady looks too much and now you want to buy me clothes. No Damon it will just look like am a golddigger.”
“Look at me Brielle.” When I don’t respond, Damon sighs softly and placed his index f!nger un-der my chin, slowly lifting it up to meet his warm caring gaze.
“Don’t ever think of yourself as a golddigger, you are far from that and we care about you so plea-se don’t look at it like we’re spoiling you. Scratch that! You deserve to be spoiled and have fun cause of all you’ve been throu-gh in the past.” I didn’t even notice I was crying until Damon used his thumb to wipe my tears.
“Don’t ever think like that again. Okay?” I nodded, feeling myl-ips tug up in a ghost smile. I felt another hand on my shoulder, I looked straight at Alex to see him smiling at me as he gave my shoulder a gentle squee-ze.
We then walked inside the mall and wow! I’ve never been to a mall like this before. I could see all the beautiful dresses, accessories and jewelries from where I stood. I suddenly felt timid because of what I was wearing, everything in the sto-re looks so expensive and even the people. The guard who had let us in kept on sneaking glances at my direction, staring at me with disgust. Probably because he thought I was a beggar.
But when Damon and Alex stood behind me his face immediately went pale as he greeted them with respect while stuttering. It didn’t help when Damon glared at him and the poor guard looked like he was going to pas-s out.
Alex later went outside, saying he forgot his phone in the car while Damon had to go use the restroom. I walked over to the Lady behind the desk, thinking that maybe she would be kind enough to help me select some female outfits but boy was I wrong.
“Um excuse plea-se.” I said politely, tapping my f!nger gently on the desk.
She looked at me, titling her head to the side as she examined my face. Her eyes travelled down my b©dy as her face scrunched up in disgust. “How did you get in here?” Her voice was thick with distaste.
“Huh?” I asked in confusion. What does she mean by how did you get in here?
“This is no place for beggars, go and look for food in the trash can cause you won’t get anything from me.” I was taken aback by her words, yet I couldn’t even defend myself. Even though she’s only a worker here, I still felt so small un-der her hateful burning gaze. I don’t really blame her for looking at me like that, even a blind person can not compare the both of us. She was looking really gorgeous in her purple a-line dress, her silver heels looks so expensive while her hair was styled to perfection. I was just dressed in a plain blue sweater and black leggings. My white sneakers looking old.
“I’m here with two of my male friends and am not a beggar.” I spoke quietly, still feeling a little bit hurt by her choice of words.
“Oh really?” She said in a mocking tone, her voice was loud enough to attra-ct some people. “You’re here with two boys? So that means they are rich and you’re going to sleep with them just so that they can buy things for you. What a who-re.” I felt my eyes cloud with tears, not only because of her words but because I could hear people silently whispering amongst each other, some were laughing.
“What’s going on here?” A de-ep voice demanded right behind causing me to jump up in fright. I turned around to see Damon who gave me a soft smile as he wra-pped a comforting arm around my shoulder. He then faced the lady who alre-ady looked pale as she stared at Damon with wi-de eyes when he fixed a scary glare on his face. The people who were laughing all all scrambled away when they saw Damon.
The lady looked nervous, sweat dripping down from her forehead. “J-just this b-beggar who got in s-sir.” She addressed him politely. Alex then walked in, raising a brow at Damon who was visibly fuming with rage. Alex then turned to me with a questioning look but I ignored him and gently ru-bbe-d Damon’s arm, trying to calm him down. If the lady was a man she would have received a lot of punches from Damon.
“Who did you just call a beggar?” Damon asked darkly, his glare was enough to make anyone pas-s out from fright.
“Her sir.” She pointed her perfectly painted f!nger at me.
“You know what, I won’t say or do anything I might regret.” Damon stated in a dark tone. “But just know I’ll have a talk with your manager about people like you.” Her eyes wi-de-ned as she begged frantically.
“No, plea-se sir!” Damon just rolled his eyes and gr@bb£d me and Alex hand, pu-lling us to the female section.
“Am still a bit lost here.” Alex chuckled nervously, trying to ease the tension among us.
“Brielle tell us what she said to you.” His tone was stern and firm. I gulped and told the both of them everything the lady had said to me, not leaving a single detail out. When I was done talking, Damon was fuming and Alex looks shocked and angry.
“Don’t worry guys am fine.” I told them, cause I could see it in Damon’s eyes that he blamed himself for leaving me alone while Alex might be feeling guilty cause he left me to go get his phone.
I pouted and childishly tugged on their sleeve, giving them my best puppy dog eyes. It worked cause they both smiled and pu-ll-ed me in for a warm and safe embr@ce.
I looked at the expensive t©ps, blouses, jeans and dresses that were set in an orderly manner. I felt a little insecure about some of the clothes, and put it back down when I saw the price. Damon and Alex on the other hand kept on picking the clothes I put back without bothering to look at their price.
I tried to argue but they both wouldn’t budge so I just helped myself with some of the jeans and leggings that caught my eyes. Alex also helped me in picking hoodies and sweaters. My hoodies were plain and simple, I’d never imagine myself to be getting expensive things.
After getting a lots of clothes from the mall Damon paid for them and we left the building, going over to the parking lot. Holding six shopping bags in each hands seemed fun to me, but not for Alex and Damon who kept on grumbling about never going shopping again with me. Haha, I really stressed them out and it was fun.
“Oh $h!t!” Damon cursed as we all got inside the car. “Uh guys I think you should both check your phones.” He sounded nervous.
Confused, me and Alex both pu-ll-ed out our phones. My eyes immediately wi-de-ned when I saw the text and missed calls from Xavier. 40 missed call and 25 text messages?!
“Um guys.” I said. “An angry Xavier isn’t that bad, right?” They both simultaneously shook their heads and I gulped.
‘We are in so much trouble’
~*~*~*~
“Why can’t you guys just go to your own rooms?” I whisper-yelled at Damon and Alex.
“Ssh.” Damon whispered back. “If you don’t shut up he’s going to hear us!”
“St©p yelling.” Alex whispered harshly to the both of us.
When we got home, Damon managed to park Xavier’s car in the garage without ma-king any noise, he suggested that we should hide until Xavier cools down for a bit cause we don’t know how mad he is at the three of us. The shopping bags were still in the car, as much as I want to take them to my room and try them all out, I cant cause it will slow us down.
“Because yours is clo-”
“Where have you three been?” An angry vouce asks ma-king Alex, Damon and I let out a high-pitched skrie-k. We wh!pped our head around to see Xavier staring at us with an angry expression. Hisl-ips were pressed in a thin line, arms crossed over his che-st as he gave us a deadpanned look.
“Living room. Now.” Xavier ordered, before any of us could say anything he stomped downstairs. I gulped and slowly trailed behind Damon and Alex as they went down to the living room.
“Wonderful weather we’re having today.” Damon blurted out as we were all seated on the couch. Xavier sat opposite us with a de-ep frown on his face.
“Dude, seriously.” Alex said, staring at Damon as if he is the most crazy person on the planet
“It just sli-pped.” Damon pouted, turning to face Xavier only to flin-ch when he saw that his brother was glaring straight at him.
“Hey big bro what’s up?” Damon asked nervously. Xavier only narrowed his eyes at Damon. “What’s up?” He laughed. “You’re seriously asking me that!”
“Geez sorry what crawled up p@n-ts today.” Damon muttered but sadly Xavier heard that.
“Damon Alessandro Hill i’ve had enough of your childishness, now hand me your phone.” Xavier said firmly.
Damon gaped at him. “You cant do that!”
“I believe I can, aunt Emily put me in charge of you and Alex while she’s in colorado and besides you’re seventeen so you don’t have a say in this.” Damon grumbled in response, reluctantly handing Xavier his phone.
“Do I really have to give you my phone?” I whined.
“Yes. Phone. Now.” He ordered. I dramatically huffed and gave him my phone, to which he smiled at. He then turned to Alex who still hasn’t given Xavier his phone, which I could tell took him by surprise but he masked it up with his usual blank stare.
“Alex, your phone.” Xavier ordered in a firm tone. Alex didn’t hand Xavier his phone, still looking down at his l@p.
“No.” Alex said out of the blue. Me and Damon gawked at him, did he really just say no to Xavier. Its not like any of us cant say no to Xavier, but Alex has always been the good and quiet boy so am very intruiged as to why he said no.
Xavier c0cked a brow. “Did you just say no?” He stood up now, looking down at his younger brother who still refuse to utter a word.
I was more surprised when Alex got up from the couch and stared at Xavier, looking up at him. You heard me damn right I said no.” Xavier looked stunned and so did Damon.
Xavier narrowed his eyes at Alex. “You nee-d to st©p acting like this right now Alexander.” His voice held a warning tone.
“I nee-d to st©p?” Alex said drily. “No! You nee-d to st©p! I know that you’re not angry that we went out without telling you. You’re just worried that something might have happened to us and nothing happened. Am sick of you treating me and Damon like we’re a bunch of five yr olds, st©p this protective brother act of yours and take a break! I hate the fact that you always worry about Damon and I constantly!”
“Of course I will worry about you two, you’re my brothers!” Xavier yelled back. I quic-kly took the phones from his hand cause he looked like he was re-ady to throw it across the room out of anger.
“Um guys calm down.” Damon stuttered, trying to get his brothers attention.
“No Damon!” Alex yelled. “He nee-ds to st©p treating us like we’re children, you yourself knows that.”
“St©p acting like a a childish br@t Alex.” Xavier growled. “Give me your phone. Now.”
“You’re just like him!” Alex screamed in anger.
Sl@p!
I stared at Xavier with wi-de eyes as he looked down at Alex with guilt written on his face. Xavier looked down at the hand he used to sl@p Alex. “Alex am sorry I didn’t mean to.” His voice cracked.
“I hate you!” Alex yelled, tears streaming down from his eyes as he ran upstairs.
“Damon plea-se can you t-” Xavier started but Damon cut him off by giving Xavier a hvg.
“I’ll talk to him.” Damon said softly, pu-lling back from the hvg. I watched as Damon gave Xavier one last hvg before walking upstairs, towards Alex room.
Xavier closed his eyes and re-leased a breath. I took his hand in mine, gently squee-zing it. He opened his eyes and turned to face me. I smiled and led Xavier to the couch, as we both sat down with me still holding onto his hand. I ignored the tingles I felt when he used his thumb to trace circles at the back of my palm.
“I failed to keep my anger in check and I hit my baby brother because of it.” He spoke quietly.
“I know you didn’t mean to hit Alex, plea-se don’t feel guilty.” We just stayed in silence for a while, holding hands before I decided to break the silence with a question that has been bugging me.
“Xavier.”
“Hmm?”
“Alex cant just get mad at you for worrying about him and Damon. Did something happened before?”
“Yes.” He breathed in carefully, turning his head to look at me. “My father was abusive.”

Chapter 8

“What?” Was all that I could utter. Xavier jaw ti-ght£ñed as he re-leased a breath, his grey eyes darkened dangerously as he tried to remain calm. Honestly I cant believe what Xavier just told me about his father being abusive, his actually biological father abused Xavier, Damon and Alex? No, I cant possibly imagine someone trying to beat up Xavier and Damon unless its…
“Alex.” I said slowly, looking up at Xavier as I tried to think of how it was Alex being abused by his father. I remembered when I first asked them about their real parent and how Alex looked so scared, I actually thought it was a sad matter.
“Did your dad hit him?” I questioned Xavier when I saw him staring at me blankly.
Xavier jaw clenched again as he slowly nodded vigorously. “Yes he did.”
“Look Brielle.” Xavier added. “I cant tell you everything that happened cause its not really my story to tell.” I un-derstood what Xavier meant, their father feels like a tough subject to Xavier but I couldn’t help but feel a little embarras-sed for ma-king it seem as if I was desperate for an explanation.
I was about to stand up and leave when Xavier said. “But I can briefly tell you about what happened.”
“My parents were like the most perfect couples i’ve ever when I was still so young, they were both lovely and kindhearted. The best parents any child could ask for. I was a little jealous when mum gave birth to Damon cause he was getting most of their attention but I soon got over it and accepted him as my little brother. Then Alex c@m£ along and I felt the responsibility to protect and always be there for both my brothers since I was the oldest. My parents loved the three of us, fed us and spoiled us with expensive toys. Alex, Damon and I were both pla-ying in the living room when our dad received a call, his phone fell of his hand and shattered, tears streaming down his eyes. My mum was in a car accident and she died on the sp©t. It was so painful Brielle, I cried and cried till I got tired, Damon and Alex cried when they learned that mum was never going to return home. When I saw my mum in the hospital go-wn, her face ghostly pale and her closed eyes, I cried again. I was only eight but I knew she was not going to come back again, she was not going to k!ssmy forehead and tuck me in when I sleep, she was not going to see me grow up.” Xavier voice cracked, tears sprang in his eyes and he blinked them back.
I wra-pped my arms around Xavier, gently patting his back. Xavier pu-ll-ed back from the hvg and wiped his red eyes, giving me a small smile. Xavier tried to talk but I st©pped him, knowing that its ha-rd for him to continue talking since its a t©uçhy subject for him.
“I know this is painful for you to talk about so plea-se don’t bother to tell me about the rest.”
Xavier took my hand in his, giving it a gentle squee-ze. I felt myself blus-h when gently ca-ressed my f!ngersbefore speaking up. “No Brielle i’ve kept this in for so long, I really want to let it out.”
“Okay Xavier.” I smiled. He re-moved his hand from mine and placed it on his l@p, ma-king me frown a little cause I missed the warmth and tingles I felt when he gently held my f!ngers.
He breathed in and out before speaking up. “After our mum died, our dad bec@m£ cold and distant. I had to stay strong for Damon and Alex cause they both nee-ded someone that would show positive things in their life. And Alex.” Xavier st©pped talking, his eyes filled with different emotions.
“What about Alex?” I questioned.
Xavier smiled. “Alex was really sad at first but he begun to get over it. He was the angel of the family, kind, humble and cheesy. He always sees good in everything and everyone, and he believe no matter how wicked a person is the person still has a soft sp©t in their heart. fv¢k Brielle! Alex was too kind for this cruel world that we live in. I’m the worst brother ever Brielle!”
I shook my head, trying to hvg him but he moved away. I felt a little hurt when he did that but I masked it up with a soft smile, trying to reas-sure him. “You’re not a horrible brother Xavier, don’t say that.”
“No Brielle! I should have noticed, his sudden distance and quietness, the way he flin-ches whenever Damon and I t©uçh him. Dad was slowly breaking him, for some reason he hated Alex and always abused him behind closed doors but I was too oblivious to notice why the cheerful brother I had was suddenly like a lost soul, always quiet and looking empty. Alex always had Bruises on him and I thought he was being bullied, so I confronted him, all he did was give me a cold shoulder so I got mad and yelled at him, I called him a selfish br@t. Throu-ghout my yelling out of frustration, he kept quiet and just walked to his room. I apologized to Alex the next day cause I hate having an arguement with him. I was so ignoramus that I could’nt see Alex was scared, scared of our dad. I should have noticed that anytime our dad travels Alex is happy and cheerful but when he comes home from a meeting or business trip Alex has a frightened expression on his face.” Xavier paused and breathed in, turning to face me. “I was jealous Brielle, jealous of Alex.”
I eyebrows crea-sed together at Xavier words, I couldn’t help and asked. “Why?”
“He looks so much like our mum, his personality, kindness and he’s so gentle. Whenever I look at him its like am looking at mum. I was jealous that he was so much like mum, and jealous that he always goes to Damon whenever he has a problem, Alex never comes to me. And my dad, he bec@m£ wasted and brings women to the house every night. I caught one of the women he always brings sl@pping Damon repeatedly because he refused to give her a mas-sage. I got angry and pushed her before taking Damon to my room, he was only eleven then.” Xavier stayed silent and then he sighed, leaning foward and resting his elbow on the edge of the couch. I knew he was too sad to talk so I got up from the couch, dusting the front of my shi-t when I saw little dirts on it.
Xavier narrowed his eyes at me. “Where are you going? Am not done talking.”
“Xavier.” I placed my hand on his broad shoulder, surprisinly he didn’t move away this time. “Its really obvoius that you don’t want to talk about this so plea-se don’t stress yourself out.”
“Okay.” He grumbled.
I grinned. “Now there’s the Xavier I know.”
Xavier rolled his eyes but I could see a ghost smile tug on hisl-ips. I laughed and held Xavier hand, dragging him outside while I ignored his whines. We went outside and headed towards the garage, before Xavier opened his car as we both picked up the thirty-six shopping bags filled with clothes and accessories from the mall. Xavier could only carry ten in each hands while I carried six in each hands. We took them to my room and placed it in my walk-in closet, before Xavier ran back outside to bring in the remaining four bags.
“What kind of girl buys thirty-six shopping bags in the mall?” Xavier exclaimed, slumping down on my be-d next to me as he mas-saged his arms.
“The shopping kind?”
“I won’t ever make a mistake of taking you to the mall.” Xavier grumbled.
“Let’s pl@ytwenty questions.” I suggested, crossing my legs. Xavier sighed and turned to face me with his famous blank expression. He didn’t answer me so I took it as a yes.
“Okay so favourite food?” I asked.
“Chocolate.” He said bluntly.
“Chocolate is not even a food!” I exclaimed.
“So.” Xavier scoffed. “I like chocolate.”
“Fine.” I gro-an ed. “Mine is pasta.” We both continued to ask each other question, sadly there was no jokes involved. I learned that Xavier loves to watch horror movies, his favourite sport is hockey and he plans on studying Engineering Science in college after he graduates.
I was alre-ady getting tired but stiffled it in cause I am really enjoying spending time with Xavier. It was too late when my loud yawn gave me away.
Xavier st©pped talking and smiled at me. “Are you feeling tired?”
“No.” I yawned.
“Go to sleep Brielle.” Xavier ordered while standing up.
“Okay.” I l@ydown on my be-d and snuggled into my comfortable soft pillow before I shut my eyes, feeling Xavier pu-ll the comforter over me and placed a soft k!sson my forehead.
I swear I heard him mutter. “You’re so beautiful.” In my ear.
~*~*~
Well this is really awkward, when I woke up I found out from Damon that Alex and Xavier have still not spoken to each other. It was obvious that Xavier still feels really guilty about sl@pping Alex and tried to apologize him, but Alex was avoiding Xavier at all cost.
I could tell that Xavier is getting frustrated that Alex won’t talk to him and the latter is really good at bottling all his emotions by keeping quiet and staring into space.
I internally sighed, wishing all this awkward tension will be gone. Right now we were all currently seated in the mas-sive dining room, quietly munching on our food, well I cant say the same for Damon. I could see Xavier bitting the inside of his cheek as he gr!pp£dhis fork so ti-ght his knuckles turned white, Damon was happily eating the food I made while scrolling throu-gh his phone but I know he could feel the tension among us no matter how childish he is. Alex was silently eating his food with his head down as he stared at his plate, avoiding anyone’s gaze. I could see Xavier from my peripheral vision sneaking glances at Alex.
“So…” I started, trying to dilute the tension. “Do any of you want to do something fun?”
Damon immediately placed his phone on the table, his eyes lighting-up. “Yes let’s go to the amusement park! That will be so much fun, we can ride the ferris wheel! Ooh we can pl@ygames at the funfair! We can order ice creams and chocolate! Ooh we can-”
“Damon!” Me, Xavier and Alex simultaneously said.
“Meanies.” Damon pouted ma-king Alex chuckle. I smiled when Damon said something silly that made us all laugh. At least the tension was reduced cause it was really killing me with all the quietness.
When we were all done eating me and Xavier packed up the plates and I started washing them in the sink. Xavier said it will be fas-ter for me if I just use the dishwasher but I don’t really know how to tell him i’ve never used a dishwasher before, so right now am using my hands to wash the plates while Xavier just stood casually beside the fridge. I could feel his eyes on me when I started humming ‘perfect’ by Ed sheeran.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, placing the last plate on the plate rack, before turning to face Xavier.
“Can you plea-se talk to him?” He pleads.
“Who?” I questioned, feeling a bit confused.
“Alex.”
“Oh…” I drawled out. “I don’t think Alex will like it if I apologize on your behalf.”
Xavier face palmed. “No, am not asking you to apologize to him, just talk to him instead.” He sighed. I dried my hands with a kitchen towel and walked towards Xavier, wra-pping my arms around him, he stiffened at first but slowly hvgged me back.
I pu-ll-ed back from the warm embr@ce and peeked up at Xavier. “Don’t beat yourself up because if it, I promise to talk to Alex.”
“Thank you Brielle.” Xavier gave me one last lingering look before leaving.
I ru-bbe-d my palms together and jogged up to Alex room. Without knocking, I slammed the door open causing Alex to jump in fright, and let out strings of curses when he saw that it was only me.
“plea-se Brielle try knocking next time.” Alex said in a stern tone.
“Sorry.” I laughed, sitting down on his be-d as I made myself comfortable by hvgging one of his soft pillows. Alex sighed and sat down beside me.
“So why are you here?” Alex eventually asked.
“To talk to you.” I responded. “Alex what you said to Xavier was very uncalled for.”
Alex sighed. “I know, its really embarras-sing that I acted like a 6 yr old br@t throwing tantrums that’s why am too much of a chicken to talk to Xavier.”
“You told Xavier that you hate him, do you?”
“Hell no! I-i just said it out of anger, I can never hate Xavier and Damon, they both mean a lot to me and I don’t think I’ll be sane if they’re not with me.”
“I don’t hate Xavier its just that he worries too much and always trys to make sure me and Damon are okay. If Damon and I goes to a p@rty and we’re late pas-s our be-dtime Xavier get’s mad and ground the both of us. I’m not allowed to go to p@rties anymore, I have to ask Xavier first before I can take a walk outside, I have a curfew, I should always get good grades and never skip a clas-s! Its really frustrating that Xavier acts like a parent! I just want my brother back.” Alex added softly.
“Alex.” I placed my hand on his shoulder. “Xavier is just acting like that cause he feels you and Damon are his responsibility and you nee-d to be taken care of after what your father did to-”
I quic-kly sma-cked my hand over my mouth, remembering that Alex might get angry because Xavier told me about their cruel and wicked father. I slowly brou-ght my eyes up to see Alex staring at me blankly.
“Um-i- um i-i.” I stuttered.
“Xavier told you right?” Alex asked me with the same blank expression on his face.
“Y-yes, but not everthing, I still don’t know what your father did to you.”
“Do you want me to tell you the rest?” Alex asked out of the blue.
“If you want to.” I muttered, nervously chewing on the bo-ttomof myl-ip.
Alex smiled. “I want to.”
“Really?”
“Yep.” He said popping the p.
“You just have to tell me what Xavier told you.” Alex said and I started explaining all what Xavier said to me, how their mother died and how his father bec@m£ cold and distant before he started abusing Alex.
“Its true.” Alex voice cracked a little. “I loved him and looked up to him I just don’t know why he did all that to me, he always told me am worthless and pathetic. I bec@m£ depressed when he told me that he wish I would just die, that he loves Damon and Xavier and hates me. He started hitting me and threatened to kill me if I ever tell anyone about what he does to me, I bec@m£ his everyday punching bag. I can never forget about the day it all happened.
*flashback*
“Give it back Damon!” Alex yelled, trying to run after his brother. The nine year old just laughed and ran around the living room with the little eight year old boy chasing him around. While running so fast, Alex didn’t noticed a book on the tiled floor so he tr!pp£dover it and fell down, hitting his knee on the cold tiled floor.
“It hurts.” Alex whimpered, holding his knee which had a little bruise in it. Damon st©pped running on hearing his little brother cry. He ran towards Alex and squ-atted down to his height.
“I’m sorry Alex I was just pla-ying.” Damon said softly. “Here take your teddy.” Alex sniffled and took his teddy from Damon hands, clutching it close to his che-st.
“Were does it hurts?” Damon asked worriedly. Alex pointed at his left knee, sniffling quietly.
“Ssh.” Damon cooed. “It will be alright.” He gently picked up his little brother and carried him to upstairs. Alex just buried his face in Damon shoulder, lightly sniffling. Damon opened the door to his older brother room and walked in, seeing him re-ading a book.
Hearing his door opening and closing, Xavier looked up from his book and turned to face where Damon stood, seeing him holding a sniffling Alex in his arms. He spranged from the be-d and rushed to Damon, taking Alex from him while glaring at Damon who looked down, feeling guilty.
“What happened to him?” Xavier growled, cradeling Alex like a baby. He cant help himself and be overprotective of Alex since he’s the youngest among the trio. For a ten year old he’s quite mature.
Alex looked up at his big brother and tugged on his shi-t, ma-king Xavier to look down. “Don’t me mad at Dami, Xavi, he just wanted to pl@ywith me so I fell down and bruised my knee.” Xavier smiled and gently sat Alex on his be-d, turning to face Damon who was alre-ady crying cause he felt guilty. Xavier sighed softly and pu-ll-ed Damon in arms, hvgging his brother ti-ght.
“Sorry for yelling at you Damon.” Xavier apologized. “I didn’t mean to get mad.”
“I forgive you Xav.” Damon sniffled.
“Group hvg!” Alex yelled. Xavier chuckled and pu-ll-ed Alex in the hvg. The three st©pped hvgging when they heard the front door opening from downstairs in the living room. Xavier ran to the living room to see who it was and his face lit up as he yelled. “Dad!” The older man chuckled and picked Xavier up, k!ss!nghis forehead as he pla-yfully ruffled Xavier hair ma-king the latter pout. He placed Xavier down just as Damon and Alex c@m£ running down the stairs. Damon threw himself at his father and hvgged him ti-ghtly while his dad smile softly at Damon before k!ss!nghis forehead.
“I missed you dad!” Damon beamed. Their dad felt little a little tug in his p@n-ts and looked down to see his youngest grinning up at him. Instead of picking Alex up he just f0rç£d a smile and gently placed Damon down.
He squ-atted down to Xavier height. “Xavier why don’t you and Damon take this bag to the kitchen and set what’s inside in the dining room.” He handed Xavier the white leather and Xavier eyes lit up when he saw chocolates, sweets, cookies and ice cream in the bag.
“Of course dad!” Xavier held Damon hand and ran with him towards the kitchen.
“Daddy!” Alex yelled excitedly, hvgging his father only to receive a harsh shove.
“Get off me you little $h!t!” His dad spat.
Alex bo-ttoml!pquivered. “Are’nt you happy to see me daddy?”
“Why will I be happy to see a disgusting bastard.” His father said with venom dripping in his tone. His father, Mason, held Alex arm in a death grip, not caring if his son was getting hurt. Alex couldn’t help but cry cause his arm was throbbing.
With one last glare towrds Alex, Mason moved away from him and went to the kitchen, leaving Alex on the floor who was quietly sobbing.
Alex joined afterwards and sat down, quietly ni-bbling on his chocolate bar. Xavier then noticed his brother quietness, he furrowed his brows together as he stared at Alex with a worried look cause Alex was the type to say silly jokes whenever they sat down together.
Xavier nudged Alex in the h!p, ma-king the eight year old stare at his big brother. “What’s wrong lil bro?”
“Nothing.” Alex mumbled, looking down. Xavier knew Alex was lying so he decided to let it slide.
While looking at the three boys, an idea struck in Mason head that made him sm-irk devillishly.
“Xavier.” Mason called.
“Yes dad?”
“Would you and Damon like to go visit aunt Emily and spend a week in new York?”
“Yes daddy!” Damon squealed, pumping his fist in the air.
“I would love to but what about Alex?” Xavier asked, when his baby brother was not mentioned.
Mason sm-irked. “Don’t worry Xavier me and Alex will go on a trip to paris and have lots of fun.”
Alex eyes lit up. “Really?”
“Yes sweetie.” Mason smiled, a fake smile.
“Okay daddy!” Alex exclaimed, he was happy cause paris has always been his favourite place to go to. He forgot about his little encounter with his dad, cause all he could think about was that he was going to paris with his dad.
Oh, if only little innocent Alex knew what his dad has in sto-re for him.
