(WHERE IS LOTTIE?)

DIAMOND’S COMPANY★ MEXICO**

SECRET BASE

“Start talking,” Derek growled darkly.

“I swear, I wasn’t stalking him.” The boy denied, crying bitterly as blood trailed down his face.

“Are you going to keep denying it?”

Rhodes walked in, stuffing his hands into his pan-ts pocket.

“Has he mentioned the person who sent him to tail me?”

“No, sir.”

“I see. Keep torturing him until he starts talking but if he still wants to keep his mouth shut, kill him. Do I make myself clear?”

“Yes, boss.”

Rhodes turned to leave when the boy immediately shouted,

“Wait!”

“Are you going to talk now?” Derek asked, raising a questioning brow.

The boy gulped painfully. “I…I will talk.”

Rhodes turned back to face him, having a mischievous smirk on his face. He leaned forward.

“You’ve made the best decision ever. You should not choose death over a secret that isn’t worth it, don’t you think.”

The boy frantically nodded his head, regretting it instantly as his head began to hurt badly.

“I will talk…” He repeated.

“Talk. I’m all ears.”

OFFICE**

Rhodes angrily stormed inside his office, looking very pissed off.

Derek strolled in after him.

“The boy could be lying,” He said in an attempt to calm his boss down.

“I don’t think so. Why would he lie over something like this?”

“I don’t get it. Why will your wife put a tail on you?” Derek thought out loud. “It doesn’t make any sense. I mean, there is no reason for her to do something like this.”

Rhodes clenched his fist, boring a hole into the wall.

“Well, news flash, there is a reason and I think I know just what it is.” His face hardened. “She’s curious about my past.”

ARIA’S HOUSE**

“What is the meaning of this?” Lottie asked as she looked around, seeing her pink suitcase and pa-ssport.

“You are going back to Brazil.” Aria simply stated, scrolling throu-ghher phone. “I’m going to book your flight now.”

“Are you crazy?”

“Yes. Yes, I am crazy. Can’t you see? I am fuc-k ing losing my mind because of you.” A notification popped up on Aria’s phone. “There, your flight is by 5 pm.”

“What? Cancel it.”

“Never.”

“I SAID CANCEL IT!” She screamed angrily.

“No. You are going back to Brazil and that’s final.”

“Says by who? You? What gave you the right to think that you can boss me around?”

“You are my best friend and that gives me every right to your affairs. I am tired of watching you act like a damn idiot because of a man.”

“Don’t test my patience, Aria.”

“Or what? You are going to kill me too like you killed the nanny, huh?”

Lottie growled menacingly, clenching her fists by her sides.

“I even want to ask you this simple question, Lottie,” Aria took a step forward. “Are you happy now?”

“Excuse me?”

“Are you happy now that you’ve killed the nanny? Did your precious Mikhail choose you, hmm?”

“Stop talking nonsense.”

“You don’t scare me, Lottie. I am not frightened by you one bit so stop the threats.”

“Listen, I am not in the mood for this shit. Cancel that flight before I lose it.” She said, warningly.

“Fine. You don’t want to go back to Brazil, right? Alright then. I won’t force you. However, you are going to stay here only on one condition…” Lottie did not say anything but the look on her face was curious to know what the condition is. “Turn yourself in.”

“What did you just say?”

“What did you just say?”

“You heard me. Go to the cops and tell them about the crime you committed. You killed a fuc-k ing human, Lottie. Do I need to remind you about that?”

“I killed a human, how is that any of your damn business?”

“You are my friend!”

“And so? Does that mean you have every right to detect how my life goes and stays?”

“Listen_”

“No, you listen.” Lottie cut her off in anger. “What I do is none of your damn business. I can kill whoever I want, is that clear?”

“Can you hear yourself speak? You can kill whoever you want?” She repeated. “So what, you are going to become a murderer now because of Mikhail? Is that what you are saying?”

“Mikhail is my life. I said this countless times.”

“If you care so much about Mikhail like you claim then you should be happy whoever he is.”

“Exactly why I want him to be with me.”

“No. You are just being so selfish and mean. You do not give a fuc-k about his happiness. Is that what you call love? Answer me.” Aria sniffled, tears rolling down her face. “You even became a murderer. God, I don’t know what to say to you right now.”

Lottie started laughing, surprising Aria and at the same time making her look like a complete fool.

“Are you crying?” She asked in between laughter.

“Are you laughing?” Aria fired back, narrowing her eyes.

“Of course. You look like an idiot right now. Tell me, are you crying because I killed a person or because a person died?”

“What?”

Lottie walked over to the drink bar and grabbed a bottle of red wine and champagne flute.

She quietly poured herself a glas-sof red wine and took a sip, mo-aning at the wonderful taste of it.

“Woah, this is amazing.” She grinned.

“Are you serious right now? I am talking about something serious and you are busy drinking?”

“What do you want me to do? Cry like a crybaby?”

“Don’t you have any human sympathy or conscience?”

“And why should I feel any of those emotions? Wait, because I killed the stupid nanny?” She scoffed, taking another sip of red wine. “I have no regret about what I did. Honestly, if I have the chance, I will kill that bit-ch over and over again. She better not survive it because I won’t stop killing her until she disappears from the surface of this world!”

“Because of a man?”

“Mikhail isn’t just any man, okay?”

Aria took in a de-ep breath and exhaled.

“Go back to Brazil.” She said.

“I am not going anywhere. I come back here to stay. I left before like a coward and I am not going to repeat that same stupidity.”

“Then turn yourself over to the cops.”

“If you say that one more time, you are going to be my next target.” She threatened.

Aria’s face dropped.

Did her best friend just threaten to kill her?

“Wha…what?”

Lottie dropped the bottle of red wine on the table and walked over to where Aria was standing.

“We are best of friends, right? You’ve been with me from the very beginning. You know how it all started and I want you to also witness how it’s going to end. So my friend, don’t do something stupid that will cut your life short, okay? Cancel the flight to avoid problems with me.” She gave the champagne flute to Aria, grabbed her suitcase and pa-ssport, and leaped her way to the stairs, humming a musical tone.

Aria was left dumbstruck.

“She has lost it completely.” She mumbled to herself.

DIEGO’S HOUSE**

Felix heard the sound of the bell and went to get the door.

It was Rosa.

“Hey,” He smiled, letting her in.

She smiled back at him.

“Hi.”

“I’m sorry for calling you over.”

“It’s fine.” She looked around. “Where is Layla?”

“She is in her room. Probably still sleeping.” He shrugged.

“Did you spend the night here?” She asked, dropping her bag on the couch.

“Yeah…I couldn’t leave her all by herself.”

“I understand.” She sniffed the air and frowned. “Are you cooking something?”

Felix’s eyes wide-ned. “Oops. I almost forgot.”

She giggled and followed him into the kitchen.

“You would have burnt down the house. Thank God for my sensitive nose.”

“Yeah, thank God.”

They both laughed.

“So, what are you making?”

“Toast bread and eggs.” He responded. “Are you okay with that?”

“Yeah, sure.” She yawned loudly, tears falling from her eyes.

Felix watched her carefully. “Are you okay?”

“Me?”

“Is there anyone else around?”

“Well, I’m okay. Why do you ask?”

“You look…shit.” He rou-ghed his hair.

“What is wrong?”

“fuc-k , I should never have asked you to come over. You must have been very busy until dawn. I’m so sorry for dragging you out of your comfort zone. You should be sleeping right now.”

Rosa giggled, waving him off. “It’s fine, Felix. I don’t mind being here.”

“No, it is not fine. You are always busy at night and the only time you get to sleep and rest is during the daytime or by noon. It is selfish of me to call you over when you should be resting. I’m sorry. You must be tired.”

“Then she should take a break and rest,” Layla said from the door.

“What? No. I’m fine.” Rosa declined.

“Layla is right. You should rest here.”

“That is not necessary. I’m really_”

“Take a rest, Rosalie.” Layla and Felix said at the same time.

“I am never going to win this, right?” She asked them.

“Nope.” They both shook their heads in synchronization.

“Fine. You win.” Rosa said in defeat.

“Come with me, I will show you a room to sleep in,” Layla said.

“Okay. Thank you.”

They both left the kitchen.

Ca-ssANO’S MANSION

AURORA’S ROOM**

The kid opened her eyes and the first person that came into view was her dad.

“Daddy?” She called out in a raspy voice.

“Hey, princess.” Mikhail smiled. “You are finally awake.”

She looked around and then settled her gaze on him.

“Where is my nanny?”

“Baby, should you be worried about your nanny right now? I heard you haven’t eaten since morning.”

“I am not hungry. I want to see my nanny.” Aurora sat upright.

“Your nanny is fine, okay? I told Evelyn to prepare your favorite food_”

“I don’t want to eat anything, daddy. I just want my nanny. Where is she? If she is really fine, why didn’t she come with you?” She started crying over again.

“Princess, daddy doesn’t like seeing you like this.”

“I’m sorry but I can’t help it.”

“Come here,” He wrapped his arms around her tiny body and brou-ght her closer to himself. “Your nanny is still in the hospital and_”

“Is she dead?” She suddenly asked, cutting him off.

“What? No. Of course not.” He sighed. “But she will have to stay in the hospital for a little while.” He said.

“I want to see her. Please take me to her.” She begged, more tears trailing down her already reddened face.

‘I swear, I’m going to kill you, Lottie. I swear on my life.’ Mikhail thought to himself, dropping a ki-ss on top of Aurora’s head.

“I will take you to her only on one condition,”

Aurora pulled away from her father and stared at his face.

“What is it?” She asked.

“You are going to eat something.”

“But…” She was going to object but got cut off by Evelyn.

“Your food is ready, Aurora.”

“Eat first and I will take you to your nanny. I promise.”

The little girl hesitated before finally giving in.

“Okay.”

“Good girl.” He ki-ssed her on the forehead and turned to face Evelyn. “Make sure she eats everything, do I make myself clear?”

“Yes, sir.”

He stood up.

“Where are you going?” Aurora asked.

“Daddy needs to take care of something real quick.” He answered. “I will be right back.”

He left the room afterward.

HOSPITAL**

Sean entered the ward to check on Diamond.

Zara was in the room while Ayden was nowhere to be seen.

“Hi.”

Zara looked up at him.

“Hey.”

“How are you feeling now?” He asked.

She shrugged. “I’m good. Thanks for the concern.”

Sean looked around. “Where is Ayden?”

“He went out to get us something to eat and also inform Mr. Rhodes about Diamond’s condition.” She replied.

“Mr. Rhodes? Isn’t that Diamond’s father?”

She nodded. “Yeah…”

“Zara, you don’t look so good. How long have you been crying?”

She bites her bottom li-p, gazing down at her best friend.

“I’m good.” She lied.

“No, you are not. Look at how swollen your eyes are. Are you sure you don’t need me to run a test on you?” He asked, reaching out to touch her forehead but she moved away from his reach.

“Maintain your distance, Dr. Sean.” She said.

Sean felt a pang of hurt at her cold words. He quickly backed away.

“I’m sorry.”

She did not say anything or spare him a glance.

It was silent for a while,

“Zara, can we please talk?”

“I have nothing to say to you right now. Simply because I asked your questions nicely doesn’t mean I want to talk to you.” She said.

“Zara, I know you are still_”

“Can we not have this conversation right now?” She cut him off, staring at him with reddened eyes. “My best friend is here fighting for her life, you are the least of my problems, Sean.” She told him.

Sean gulped audibly, nodding his head.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t use Diamond’s condition as an opportunity to get you to listen to my explanation.” He stated.

“You should know better.”

“I’m sorry once again. However, you shouldn’t worry about anything. Diamond will be fine. She is a brave fighter.”

“Hmm.” She simply hummed, folding her arms over her chest and giving him a ha-rd glare.

“You can call for me if you ever need_”

“Just go.” She cut him off once again. “I don’t want to see your face any longer.” She added, looking away from his face.

“Oh. I’m sorry.” He apologized for the third time before leaving the room.

Zara slowly looks up at the door and immediately burst out crying again.

“I miss him.” She cried painfully.

The door opened and Ayden walked in.

“Hey, Zara.” He rushed toward her, dropped the plastic bag aside, and wrapped his arms around her. “I thought I told you to stop crying.”

“I’m sorry.” She said in between tears.

“Shush, it’s alright.”

After a few minutes, Zara finally stopped crying.

“Did you call Mr. Rhodes to tell him about Diamond?” She questioned after a moment of silence.

“I tried reaching him but it wasn’t connecting. I will try later in the day.”

She nodded. “Okay.”

“I bought your favorite snack.” He said, dipping his hands inside the plastic bag.

“I’m not hungry, Ayden. I will possibly eat later but definitely not now.”

TWO HOURS LATER

Ca-ssANO’S MANSION**

“Where is daddy?” Aurora asked as she descended the stairs.

“Your daddy went out but would be_”

“Where did he go to? He promised to take me to my nanny if I eat.” She said almost on the verge of crying. “And look, it is already two hours and I can’t seem to find him anywhere.”

“He will be back soon, trust me.” Paige rea-ssured.

“I miss my nanny and I want to see her. Why will daddy deceive me like this?”

“He didn’t deceive you. He will be back soon, okay?”

Aurora started crying and goes upstairs to her bedroom.

“Ah, God.” Paige cupped her forehead, sighing.

ARIA’S HOUSE**

There was a loud bang on the door, scaring the shit out of Aria.

She stood up from the couch and went to check who it is.

As soon as she opened the door, her eyes went wide.

“Mik…Mik_”

“I won’t call him that if I were you,” Marcello said in a dark voice, pushing the door further open for Mikhail.

Aria gulped nothing, gathering whatever courage she has left in her to speak.

“What are you doing here?”

Mikhail looked around, gritting his teeth.

He was so pissed off and he was ready to crush anything on his way.

“Where is she?”

Aria knew exactly who he was asking for but feigned to be clueless.

“Who…who are you talking about?”

“Don’t try to play dumb with me. Where the fuc-k is Lottie?” He snarled.

“I..I…I don’t know what you are talking about. Lottie should be in your house and not_”

She didn’t get to finish her statement when he grabbed hold of her neck, squeezing hard.

His eyes were darkened and glinted in anger.

“I am going to ask you for the last time, where is Lottie?”

TBC.
