⚡Chapter Twenty—Seven (27)⚡
Subtitle: Contract Ends
Ashley’s pov
I rushed downstairs to the sitting room. All the Js were there aside from Josh and Joshua.
Today was my last day at the Js mansion. The contract ends today which was for the best after all. I know you all are wondering what my decision is but…you will be finding out soon.
“hey guys.” I yelled. They all stare at me with a smile plastered on their faces. I returned their smile with the warmest smile i could come up with.
“i got you guys something. It might be little but i hope you guys will love it.”
I handed some bags to them each. They all collected it staring at me confusedly.
Jayden was the first to open his bag, it was a headphone. While i had stayed here with the Js, i knew one thing for a fact; Jayden was addicted to his headphones. So i decided to get him one.
He smiled and got up to his feet pulling me in for a warm hug. I smiled before parting away.
“thanks a lot for the headphones.”
“you’re welcome.”
Jeffrey opened his own bag, i had gotten him a black leather jacket. Yeah, yeah, he loves it just like me. LOL.
“awwwn. Thanks baby.” He hug-ged me as well.
Jackson opened his bag, i had gotten him a little painting of a colorful parrot. Jackson loves painting that deals with air and are also colorful.
“wow. It’s fantastic. Thanks baby girl.”
I scrunched my face at him, playfully. “baby girl?”
He smiled as he pulled me into his arms. “yeah, you are my baby girl.” I smiled in his arms before parting away.
Jason was the last to open his bag. I had gotten him a shoe. The shoe was white in color and was mostly for dancers. Am i not a darling?
“this…this is amazing! fu-ck! Oh my God, Ashley, you are such a darling.” Yeah, i know. He hug-ged me as well.
God, I’m so gonna miss this guys. Wow, they were more like a family to me. This mansion wasn’t just the Js mansion, it was also my home as well.
“we are going to miss you, baby girl.” Jackson said.
“yeah, i know. Like i mean, who wouldn’t miss an angel like me?” I teased.
They all laugh including me.
“are we going to see you again?” Jeffrey asked.
“of course! This place is equally my home. You guys are going to get tired of me visiting everyday.”
“we can never get tired of you, darling.”
“group hug!” I yelled feeling Excited. We all pulled each other for a group hug. I was addicted to this guys already and I’m going to miss them like crazy.
I look around after we had parted away from the embrace.
“what about Joshua?”
“check the garage. He is probably there, smoking his life out.” Jason said.
I made my way to the garage and surprisingly, Joshua was there, smoking his life out just as Jason had said.
I walked over to him and was holding his own gift behind my back.
“Hey, Mr ha-rd face.” I grinned.
He threw the cigarette on the floor and the light out before coming over to me.
“hey, pony. What’s up? Last day with the Js. Aren’t you excited?”
“funny enough, I’m not. I’m gonna miss you guys.”
“awwn. I’m so touched.” I laughed as i playfully hit his ch-est and handed him his own gift. “hmm, what do we have here?” He opened his bag, and it was a bracelet. Josh has that same kind of bracelet.
Joshua stare at me feeling annoyed already.
“seriously? Out of everything this is what you got for me? Really?”
“hey, it’s rude to badmouth a gift given to you by a friend.”
“I’m sorry, pony. But i can’t accept this bracelet.”
“really? do you hate Josh that much? huh?”

Ashley’s pov
”look, Josh betrayed me. Do you know how it feels to be betrayed by a trusted friend? Do you?”
“yes.” I replied.
He furrowed his brows at me confusedly. “really?”
“Let’s sit.”
I sat on the floor and hug my knees against my ch-est while Joshua hesitate a little before taking a sp-ot beside me.
He must be surprise about my reply to his question. I mean, who wouldn’t be? I had a tough life when it comes to relationship. I was betrayed by a best friend and a boyfriend, they were the villain but they made me feel like the villain. They didn’t apologize, they weren’t scared, if anything they were happy, happy that they finally got a chance to rub their rom-ance in my face.
Joshua shouldn’t feel bad of losing a girl like Summer. He should be rather happy because Summer is not a girl you can ever be happy with. No offence to her.
“what happened?” He asked.
“the same thing that happened to you, the only different was, your best friend tried to apologize, he felt guilty but mine wasn’t.”
“Josh felt no guilt.”
“yeah, he did. But just didn’t show it.”
“wait, seems like he told you what happened between us.” I nodded my head in agreement. “and what did he say?”
I took in a de-ep breath and exhale it before talking. “he told me exactly what happened.” I answered with a shrug.
“and you believe him?” He sounded irritated. If this guy doesn’t behave, I’m going to punch him square on the face before leaving.
“why? You don’t?”
“Josh has always being a liar. He is nothing but a player, a heart breaker, a douchebag, a_”
“okay, that’s enough. It’s my boyfriend we are talking about here, so please show respect.”
His face was very ha-rd now. fu-ck that handsome face of his.
He got up to his feet and dusted the dirt at the bott-om of his trousers. “if you have nothing important to say then i bet to take my leave now.” He threw the bracelet at me before taking a step away from the garage.
There is no way this guy is leaving like this. He has to listen to whatever i have to say whether he likes it or not. So i did the first thing that came into mind.
“ouch!” He winced as he stare at my shoe which had just hit him at the back of his head. Damn, I’m good. He turned to me. “really? was that necessary?”
I walked over to where he stood and collected my shoe. “that’s for three reason. One, you try to walk out on me. Two, you threw my gift at my face. Three, you refuse to listen to what i have to say.”
“…really? Listen_”
”no, you listen.” I put on my shoe before speaking. “you should be grateful you have a friend like Josh. When i caught my friend in the arms of my boyfriend, do you know what she did?” He didn’t say anything but the good news was, i still had his attention. “she look at me straight in the eyes and confessed her feelings for my boyfriend. And as for my boyfriend, he concurred to what she said, he said he loved her too.” I paused as the memory flood back to my head. “i felt like the villain. It felt like I’ve being the wicked person preventing them from being together. I was the victim but yet, felt like the devil.” I sniffed. Wait, am i crying? Hope am not. “all this happened on my birthday.” I sniffed again. “I wasn’t mad at them because they loved each other but i felt angry, i felt betrayed because they weren’t sorry for what they did! I hated them but i would have being supportive if they had told me their true feelings for each other.”
“Jo…Josh wasn’t sorry. Josh ki-ssed her. He ki-ssed the girl i loved so_”
“did you really love her?”
“excuse me?”
“Joshua, you don’t have to lie. You lived your past life without her and yet you are still complete.” I sighed. “you are not angry with Josh because you caught your girlfriend in his arms. You are upset because she chose him over you.” Whoa, how did i get this smart?
“no…” He said in a whisper.
“yes. That’s why you tried to win me over because you were scared that i was going to choose Josh over you…again.” I took hold of his hand. “Josh was innocent back then. He didn’t betray but you were the one who betrayed him. You left him when he needed you most. Joshua, Josh still loves you, he still want you to be his friend, he wants his lost friend back. All thanks to Summer who ruined you both friendship.”
“wait, her name is not Summer but Jessie.”
Wait, did i say Summer? fu-ck! I think i did. I run my fingers throu-ghmy hair.
“Yup. Summer, Jessie…they are the same people.”
“what?”
“yeah. Summer was my best friend. She was the girl who betrayed me. And please don’t ask me how i got to find out that information, it’s kind of confidential.”
“hmm. But..”
“please, forgive Josh. Please. You are the one person who can und-erstand in a situation like this. He needs you more than any other thing now. Please, Joshua, help him.”
Joshua stayed quiet for a long time. I thought he wasn’t going to say anything he spoke. “i know you are leaving the Js mansion tomorrow morning, but are you planning on breaking up with Josh?”

Josh’s pov

I heard a knock from my bedroom door. I sighed before ushering the person in.
“hey, sunshine.” She said as she jumped on top of me on my bed. “wake up! wake up! this is your girlfriend last day and you are here sleeping.”
“Princess, am tired.” I groa-ned as i tried to push her off me but she wasn’t bulging. “seriously? You aren’t going to get up?” She shook her head, smiling.
I started tickling her on her sp-ot. She started laughing and get off my body so i used that as an opportunity to lay on top of her but not fully. I was still tickling her while she kept on laughing.
“J…Josh…St…stop.” She said in between laughter.
“are you going to disturb me again?”
“n..no. Yo..You are…going…go… going to…hur…hurt you fist!”
I smiled. “funny you.” I stopped tickling her but she was still und-er me. “you look beautiful.” I said before ki-ssing her on her li-ps.
She smiled against my li-ps and pulled away. “i know.”
“really?”
“yup.”
We started ki-ssing again. She wrapped her legs around my wa-ist and pulled me closer to herself, wrapping her hands around my ne-ck and the ki-ss increased.
Because of this one girl in my arms, i forgot all my pains and the hurt i am pa-ssing throu-gh. The world was against me but yet i feel happy because she was still with me. She believes in me when others failed to.
There was no doubt, but I’m in love with this girl.
She suddenly out of the ki-ss and frowned at me. I pout as i stare at her. “why?”
“you made me forget the reason why i came in here. Now, get off me.”
“why?” I was still pouting.
She giggled and peck me on my li-ps. “we are going on a date.”
“like now?”
“mmm-hmm.”
“but…”
“yeah, i know. You are a star. How can i forget that?”
She pulled me away from her and got up as she ran to get a bag that was on the floor. She took out a cap and waved it at my face.
“i got our disguise ready. An hey, we are walking.”

We are currently at an Aquarium. She said she wanted to watch real fishes and aquatic animals swim with me.
We took some pictures and all that.
“next place is…” She smiled as she took out a long list. Not too long.
“really?”
“yeah. We are going to be doing all this today. This is what I’ve already dreamt of doing with my boyfriend.” She grinned.
“but we can still do this any other day.”
“how do you know? Tomorrow might not turn out the way we want it to. Let’s just enjoy today and forget about tomorrow.” She said.
“fine. So what’s the next place then?”
“THE BEACH.” she said at the top of her voice.
We did went to the beach. It was so fun. We ate cotton candy and danced as well. She for-ced me to eat that candy cotton, trust me.
We ate ice cream as well.
“you know i can’t be eating all this junk.”
“yeah. but you can just run with Joshua the next day.”
I fake glared at her. “Joshua?”
“did i say Joshua? Me? When? Okay, forget i say something.” She started walking away. I smiled before running after her as soon as i got to her side. I yank her off her feet and threw her on my shoulder and started running. She was just laughing and was also begging me to drop her down but being the great boyfriend that i am…i kept on running.

Funny enough, we finished the list. And now it was already late. We were now walking along a lonely but beautiful road which had a lot of colorful lights on. It was 7pm already. Yeah, it was a long, hectic and a memorable day.
We were both holding each other. When i suddenly stop walking and turned to her. She smiled as she stare at me.
“Here,” I took out a box from my pocket and handed it to her. She hesitate a little before collecting the box from my grasp and opened it.
“wow. you… you got the ne-cklace.”
“mmm-hmm. Happy birthday.”
She chuckled. ”hey, my birthday is long gone but…thanks a lot, Josh. I really love the ne-cklace. It’s..it’s beautiful.”
“here, let me put it on for you.” She turned her back to me and i helped with the ne-cklace.
“you gave me the yin, i said i wanted the yang.”
“my bad, but i love black.” She smiled.
“thanks.”
We kept walking then suddenly she stopped walking and turned to me. This time around, her smile has varnished. She was looking more serious than ever but her eyes held a different story. It felt like she was going to say something but then her eyes drifted to something behind me, i was going to look back at what caught her attention when she said something that almost knock the air out of my lungs.
