truth and lies episode 3

? TRUTH AND LIES?
( My Mr. Perfect )
Episode 3
Writer: Faith Lucky

“He doesn’t mum” Octavia replied.
“Hm. You nee-d to see the way he treats ladies in school. He treats them like ghosts.
“Mico is that true?” Mum asked laughing and I rolled my eyes again.
This mother of mine is one of a kind.

“So, who do you plan on taking to prom then?” She asked.
“No one mum. I might just go alone” I replied.
“You know that’s not possible Mico. Why don’t you go with Alexa?” Karen said.
“Let him decide Karen. He’s not the type that crushes on everyon he sees” Angelo said and Karen stood up and tweaked his ear.

“When is dad coming back mum?” Octavia asked.
“Hell be back in a few hours time. They’re throu-gh with the meeting.
“And by the way, s-enator Sigmund will be coming to have dinner with us tonight. Hell be accompanied by his family”.
“Oh my God!” Karen skrie-ked.
“You mean Leo will be with him?”
“Yes. Leo and Allison”.
“Oh my; I can’t wait to see him”.
“Karen,” Michael called. “I thought you were crushing on lucas not long ago?”
“Yes. And so?” She replied with a huff.

So Allison will be here today?
Hm. That pretty lady. But I don’t lie her character.

After breakfast, we watched some movies together but I felt so bored. I nee-ded to go out.

I went into my room and rook my bath.
When I c@m£ out of the bathroom, I found my phone ringing on the be-d
It was Alexa.

“Hello?” I said on the phone as I opened my wardrobe.
“Mico!” She called excitedly and giggled.
“Wats up?” She asked.
“I’m cool. You?”
“Oh, dear. I’m fine. Uhm…are you busy? I was thinking we could hang out”.
“Uh…I don’t think that’d be possible because…I actually have an appointment”.
“Uh – uh. Can’t I tag along?”.
No no. You can’t”.
She sighed disappointed.
“Okay then. Just wanted to hear from you. I’ll call you later. Bye”
And the call ended.

I smiled and dropped the phone on the be-d.
Alexa Alexa.

She Ws also a charming lady and was a student of Mico High. Her parents were stinking rich and they pampered her a lot.

She’s a nice person and I know she likes me, but…I don’t know.
I mean, all the ladles ate going crazy over me and it’s not like I don’t want to fall in love and have a girlfriend, but I just don’t want to make any mistake. I don’t want to fall for the wrong person.
I’ve never experienced any heartbreak in my life before and I don’t know if I can take one.

Besides, I know most of the ladies love because I’m cute, famous and wealthy. But that’s not the kind of love I what. I want someone that’d love me not for my fame, but just for who I am.
Yes, that’s what I want.
That’s the kind of love I want to find.

I finished dressing up and left the room and when I got outside, I met mum at the balcony. Badnews.
I knew there was no way I could leave without the guards. But I really wanted to be alone.

“Mico are you going out?” She asked as she dressed my face mask properly.
“Yes mum. I nee-d to do a light shopping” I replied.
“Well, why don’t you just order for them here at home?”
“I…I don’t want to. I just want to go out.”

She relaxed my hair with her palm and k!$$£d me
“Okay then. Be careful okay?”.
“Of course, I will” I replied and left, walking into the car that had alre-ady been opened for me.

I wined up the gl@$$ which was ha-rd cover and we took off immediately.
Another car followed behind.

I listened to songs from my phone and enjoyed the drive but after a while, I ordered the driver to stop and he did.
I c@m£ out of the car and all the guards from the second car cams out as well.

“Sir, is there a problem?” The leader among them asked as they all looked around, trying to make sure the road was safe.
It was a quiet place.

“Uh…I nee-d to drive alone. So let me have the keys” I replied and upend my palms.
They looked at each other in confusion.

“But sir, you know that’s not possible. You can’t be allowed to be alone in the open. It’s our job to…”
“It’s an order. So quit talking about it”.
“But sir, we’ll lose our jobs if your parents find out about it”.
“Well, do you plan on telling them? And don’t you think it is an offence disobeying me?”

I paused and to-uched my forehead.
“Look, don’t worry a thing about me okay? I promise I’ll be fine. Just give me the keys, go and have fun. I’ll call you when I nee-d you”.

They stared at each other again and still looked reluctant.
“The keys. Now!” I demanded and the driver gave the car keys tome.

I got into the car and drove off. I hope they don’t follow me.
I just nee-ded to be alone; be myself; feel human.

No wonder I have a grumpy attitude. I disregard people who lot but it isn’t really my fault.
My parents make me feel too important and most times, I act disrespectful.
I forget the people I treat unfairly are also humans and have feelings.

For get the fact that you saw me laughing and chatting with my family. They’re the only ones I get to act so freely with. You should see me outside and then you’ll get to un-derstand.
It’s not like I’m proud of it, I’m not. But it’s just the way I was brou-ght up.

I re-moved my mask and looked into the car mirror which I opened from the roof.
Wow! I knew I was cute. I didn’t nee-d a soothsayer to tell me.
But unfortunately, I couldn’t flount my beauty at this time. Anyway, it’s not like it stopped the ladies from crushing on me.

Wearing a mask has been mum’s idea the whole time and according to her, she wants me to be unique.
She wants people to die of curiosity, knowing the face behind the mask.
Her plan was to bake me charming and famous and make everyb©dy love me so much yet, not knowing my looks.
Then when I finally take off my mask on my 21st birthday – next month- it’ll be the talk of not just the country, but the entire world.
You don’t know how much has been offered to me just to take off my mask.

The only people that really know my face are my family and I mean close family – my mum, dad, sisters and cousins. And just few of the maids at home. Not all of them were allowed to come close to me and the few who are will never dream of taking pictures. They know the consequences.

Mum has narrated what she had to go throu-gh getting a male child.
She told me if I had come as the first child, then she wouldn’t have given birth to Karen, Octavia and Olivia.
She told me all she nee-ds in her marriage was just a son.
Well, in the Salvato-re family, the most important thing was a male child.
After giving birth to Karen, she conceived immediately hoping it’d be a boy. But shocking enough, she gave birth to twins – Octavia and Olivia. she was beginning to weep.
The Salvato-re family were alre-ady Soon, I got to a building where something strange -to me- happened.

First, a basket of clothes Fell off throu-gh the fence and stopped right ih front of me.
Then another basket of clothes fell out again to the floor at the same sp©t. It seemed someone was throwing them off the fence.

I watched in amusement and next, I saw a lady climbing out to the fence.
Did she steal or something?

She got to the top and jumped off and Holy Christ! She jumped on me and we fell on the floor together.
Isn’t this the first time I’m falling?

I fell upwards and she fell lying on me, our faces tou-ching each other’s.
But something else covered my face. It was her hair.
What a lengthy hair and wow! Are these eyes for real?

She took the hair from my face and that was when our faces were tou-ching properly.
Gosh! I could feel her breath.

She quic-kly stood up and I helped myself up from the floor.

“Oh, my God. I’m so sorry, s-enyour. plea-se forgive me” she said rather hastily as she bent to pick the clothes from floor.
I kept staring at her keenly.

“Alyssa!” Someone shouted from Inside the building and I guess that was her name because she sighed and shook her head.

Wait; hold on.
Isn’t this…No. is it possible?
Isn’t this the same waitress that poured drink on me?

Oh, my God! There’s no way I can be mistaken.
Of course, she’s the one!

Alyssa’s Pov:
Oh, God! Mother will not kill me. I can’t believe I had to jump the fence like a thief because of her.
She’s been feeding me with endless chores and wouldn’t let me return these clothes that I had taken from ma’am Caroline for laundry.
Well since I lost my job, this is what I’ve been doing – laundry.

Mum had locked the gate so I wouldn’t go out and that was why I had to jump the fence and boom! I fell on someone.

I picked the clothes from the floor and arranged them into the basket before standing up and that was when I had a proper look at the boy I had fallen on. And wow! Is this for real? What a cute fellow!

Fresh skin, dazzling curly hair, pointed nose, pinkl-ips.
He was damn so cute.
But Why’s he stating at me like that? Well, maybe he’s just admiring my eyes and hair like everyone does.

“Uhm…I’m so sorry mister, I didn’t mean to bu-mp into you. I was just in case hurry” I apologised to him again but he didn’t say anything.
Cra-p. Whatever.

I checked my jeans pocket and discovered I hadn’t taken my transport fare along.
Holy Cra-p!
I had forgotten it inside
There’s no way I could go back in to get it because that’d be like a suicide attempt.
But I can’t walk to ma’am Caroline house alone with the two baskets of clothes because it’s be too heavy and stressful.

I looked at the cute fellow and noticed he was about turning around.
“S…s-enyour” I called and he stopped and looked back at me.
Oh, God! He’s too cute.

“Are you still mad at me?” I asked and he shrugged.
“Uhm…no. its okay” he replied while staring at my face.
“O…kay. Uhm…If you wouldn’t mind, which direction are you headed?” I asked and he looked confused.
“That way” he replied, pointing to his left.
“Oh, perfect!” I exclaimed.
“Since we’re going the she way, could you help me with one of these, plea-se?
You see, I actually forgot my transport fare inside and I can’t go back in to get it because my mum wouldn’t let me out again. plea-se it’d really be of help.”

he stated at me awkwardly as if I had said something strange.
Well, whether he likes it or not, he must be of help.

He inser-ted his hands into his trou-ser pocket and looked left and right.
What’s wrong with him?

“I can’t” he replied bluntly and I gawped at him.
How rude.

“Come on, s-enyour. It won’t take long . plea-se” I said and pu-ll-ed a sad face.

He turned around and walked a few steps away and I watched in amusement.
But he stopped and returned to me.
“Okay. Let me have it” he replied and I smiled.
“Thank you so much. God bless!” I replied breezily and handed one of the baskets to him.

Mico’s pov:
Okay. This is really crazy; like very crazy.
I can’t believe I, Mico Salvato-re is actually walking un-der the seering sun, holding a basket of clothes like a tout.
How did I even end up here?
Great! This is all my fault.
Why did I have to take off my mask?

Hm..This Alyssa or whatever her name is. If only she knew I was Mico.
But what about coincidence.

She kept talking the whole time and I guess she was trying to keep me entertained as a reward for helping her out.
She kept talking and talking and gosh! She talks a lot.

“How much farther Is it?” I suddenly asked and she shot me a stare.
“Um…The red building over there” she replied and I nodded.

“Are you new around here?” She asked and I nodded again.

Oh, God! I’m sweating alre-ady and my legs hurt a lot.
I’ve never walked this much before.
Oh, mum; come and save your son.

Finally we got to the so called building and met a woman outside.

She – Alyssa – took the basket from me and walked over to the average woman.

“You’re late” the woman groused.
“I know ma’am Caroline, I’m sorry. I was a little occu-pied.” She replied with a cringe.

I looked around and couldn’t believe I was out in the open – without my mask.
How did this lady get me to follow her all the way here?
Why didn’t I just decline and walk away?

But come to think of it; she’s quite beautiful.
She’s got a nice shape, her hair is damn so long and dark and her eyes…that’s the p@rt that dazzles me a lot
She has this unique set of eyes; grey like color.
How come I didn’t notice it on the night she spilled drink on me?
And look at her bu-tts; quite big as well.

I paused and chuckled.
What the hell took my eyes there?

“But ma’am Caroline, this isn’t what we agreed on. The money isn’t complete” I heard her say to the woman in a grumbling tone.
“That’s what I can afford, Alyssa. Take it or leave it” the woman replied and picked up the baskets from the floor and headed inside.
How rude.

The Alyssa girl pu-ll-ed a sad face and returned to where I was.

“Thanks for lot for your help. Don’t worry, I’ll sponsor our transport fare back” she said, sounding a little sad.
“Uh…she didn’t pay you complete, right? The woman?” I asked and she nodded.
“Don’t worry; let’s walk together. It’s not that far anyway” I stupidly said.
“Oh! Are you serious? Okay, thanks. Let’s go” she said happily and led the way.

Mico!
What the hell did you just do?
Going throu-gh hell twice?
Why did I even say that?

Seriously, I don’t know what’s wrong with me.
And the Alyssa, she didn’t even object to it; meaning, she was hoping I’d say no.

Oh, God! My head…mum.
This is the last time I’m ever going to do such a silly mistake- going out without my mask as a commoner.
Even the air here is bad for me.

TBC.
So, what do you think is going to happen between Mico and Alyssa?
Is he really going to stay away from her?
