CHAPTER 85&86

ONE MONTH LATER, HWANG FAMILY HOSPITAL**
Sphinx’s eyes peered open, and he yawned so loud before sitting up in bed.
He looked beside him and saw Maple is still asleep. They actually slept together on the bed beside Vee’s. Vee is still unconscious on his own bed.
He has been responding well to treatment despite his unconscious state since one month ago, but the reason he’s still not waking up is not still unknown.
He has missed a whole lot in the kpop world, and the popular Binii concert is coming up next week.
KMA is in two weeks and the preparations for the two started in kpop groups already.
Though, Vee’s fans didn’t stop sending flowers and get well soon notes to the hospital to show how much they really care. It comes in bundles everyday.
Sphinx stretched himself gently before slowly looking over at Vee’s bed, hoping to meet him awake already, but his hope shattered when he saw his eyes are still closed.
“Shit, when the f**k is this dude waking up? I need to list do’s and don’ts for him as my brother” he said.
“Keep it low, why do you love disturbing my sleep? Sphinx!” Maple shouted from his sleep, and Sphinx hit him on the head immediately.
“F**k!” Maple rubbed the spot as he opened his eyes slowly.
“I’mma kill you with my own hands, remind me to do that later, p*ssy” he said, and Sphinx laughed as they both got down from the bed at once.
They went to Vee’s bed and stood on each side.
“I just can’t wait for him to wake up, I swear” Maple said.
“Same here, I need his vibes again” Sphinx replied, stroking Vee’s hair.
“Isn’t it amazing how he acts like our senior brother? Who’d ever know that we were born on the same day” Maple smiled.
“Part of why he should wake up fast, I need to make him beg me for acting like a senior” Sphinx replied.
“You’re mad” Maple grinned, and Sphinx suddenly bent over to him on the bed.
“Wake up!!!!” He screamed into his ear so loud, and Maple’s eyes widened.
“Sphinx are you insane?” He pulled him away from the bed.
“I’m just too eager” Sphinx replied.
“Yunno what? Let’s leave, it’s not safe to have you in here again, you’re toxic!” Maple said, and Sphinx started laughing as he pulled him out.
They met Juniper and Sara by the door, and they stopped smiling immediately.
Though they stopped avoiding Sara already in the past one month, but they still hasn’t had a special conversation with her.
They walked away without a word, and Sara sighed sadly.
“Mum I’ll be right back, you go in first!” Juniper told her and rushed after her brothers.
She caught up in the middle of the hallway and pulled them both to the stairs.
“What the hell is happening? You guys are making mum sad. Can’t you just…let go of things already? Mother (Mrs. Lane) talked to us about it for a whole night before returning to Washington and I expect you guys to accept fate, why the coldness? Mum has suffered enough from the rape and having to carry out pregnancy all alone without any helper. Have you both forgotten the labour pains too? Brothers please…” She started rubbing her hands together in front of them.
“I hold no grudge against mum” Sphinx said.
“Me too” Maple replied.
“Then….why?” Juniper blinked.
“Vee has more right to him than we do. Though he has been with him all his life, but he wasn’t even aware of her identity. We plan to wait till he wakes up, then the three of us can talk at a time” Maple said.
“Are you two trying to prove that you love him more than I do now?” Juniper said.
“You’re not getting jealous right now, are you?* Sphinx laughed.
“I feel betrayed” she pouted.
“And how can we love him more than you? Of course you love him more, you had a crush on him remember? The first time we met him, you wished he was your boyfriend” Maple mocked.
“It’s ok, let’s not talk about this anymore” Juniper replied, feeling embarrassed.
“Who crushes on her brother at first sight and wishes to date him?” Sphinx said.
“Her name is Juniper” Maple laughed.
“I said stop talking, fools!” Juniper went after them, and they ran down the stairs while still laughing loudly.

TRUE LOVE DORM, PRACTICE ROOM**
Their new song “You and You” is playing loudly on the walls system as they practiced the choreography.
It’s what they’ve been doing since a month ago in preparation for the KMA.
Though the song is not released yet, but it’d be released next week, and the week after.
Nominations for the award would be revealed next week, and it’s sure that every K-pop group is on their tippy toes, waiting to see their band name on the list.
Freddy and Jazzy carried Lyric on their jointed left laps while they kneeled with their left. Diva and Piper sat beside them colourful chairs, and the music ended.
They retracted from their positions and started clapping.
“Good job everyone, let’s keep this up please” Jazzy smiled, giving them all bottled water.
“Whoa! Is it just me or Jazzy became more caring in the last one month?” Freddy said.
“Baby I was just about to say that” Piper laughed.
“I know right? Imagine handing us the bottled water himself, when did he ever do that?” Lyric laughed.
“You grew wings in the past one month too” Jazzy rolled eyes at her, and they all laughed.
“Mr. Kim called for me, need to go to the agency” Diva said sullenly and walked out of the room.
“She’d remain aloof like this till Vee wakes up, trust me” Lyric said.
“I want the cheerful Diva back. The Diva who’d eat four packs of noodles without getting tired” Piper said sadly.
“She hasn’t been eating good food for the past one month, and it’s driving me insane. Everytime I try to make her eat, she shuns me” Freddy said.
“Let’s keep doing everything we can, no one is allowed to leave her side whenever she’s in this dorm, even if she chases us away with her frowny face” Jazzy said.
“Sure” Lyric smiled.
“And now I have a confession to make” Jazzy said.
“What is it about?” Freddy asked.
“The Sonorous show when we slipped on water on stage” he replied.
“Yes?” They all chorused.
“Ok…the water…” He said.
“Yes?” They chorused again.
“The water was a planned work” he said, and their eyes widened.
“What the hell!!!”
“Not just me though. It was planned by I and Diva to be part of our intro dance, but we didn’t inform you guys cos we wanted the shock to reach everyone, I’m so sorry” Jazzy said, shifting back as their glares landed on him.
“You deserve a good beating, come here JJ!” Piper shouted, and Jazzy took off immediately they came for him.
He ran out of the room, laughing loudly as they chased him round the dorm.
In another five minutes, everyone went back to their rooms, and Jazzy’s phone rang immediately he entered his room.
“Juniper?” He muttered, swiping green.
“Hey babe!” She said cheerfully.
“Told you to stop calling me that” he replied.
“You’re a total babe, that’s why I can’t stop myself! Anyways how’re you doing today? Can we go out together and have fun?” She asked.
“No. I’m not…
“You’re not chanced, same old line. This will be the fifth time you’d be turning me down, do you know that? Why are you seriously playing hard to get? Do I need to come bundle you in your dorm?” She said at once.
“Listen Juniper, I…
“Yunno what? Let’s talk later, you’re probably gonna break my heart more with your next sentence so bye!” She said sharply and hung up.
“F**k” Jazzy muttered, falling on his bed.

RAINBOW ENTERTAINMENT**
Everyone in the building is busy cos of the upcoming activities when Diva arrived.
Her juniors were greeting her respectively, and she was trying her best to just wave as she walked.
Sadness became her best friend since Vee has been refusing to wake up. What reason is there to smile when the reason for her smile is there in the hospital, lying down lifelessly?
She was still walking when someone held her hand from behind, and she turned swiftly.
“Eonni!” The sweet voice said, and her eyes widened when she saw Mimi, the girl she met at the karaoke who gave her advice regarding Vee that night!
“Mimi! What are you doing here!” She said surprisingly.
“Surprise! I became a trainee here as of yesterday, and I’m glad I’m finally in same agency as you” she replied cheerfully.
“You said you wanted to become a counsellor” Diva blinked.
“Yes, and this is my second dream, but it came to pass before my first. I can still be a counselor as an idol, so I’m covered” she replied, and Diva finally hugged her.
“So glad to have you here” she smiled.
“Eonni you look sad, is it because of Vee in the hospital?” She said, and Diva nodded on her shoulder.
“I understand you. But we his fans are praying for his recovery, and it’s sure he’d wake up soon, so smile, this is the second time I’d be meeting you sad. Let our third meeting be happy” Mimi said, breaking the hug.
She got a lollipop from her skirt pocket and placed it on Diva’s palm.
“It’d melt all your sadness the moment you eat it,” she said, and Diva smiled.
“By the way can I call you my mum?” She asked.
“Mum?” Diva blinked.
“Kpop mum”
“Of course” Diva smiled.
“Bye mum! See ya later!” She winked and rushed off to join her co-trainees.
Diva smiled and looked at the lollipop before resuming her walk to Mr. Kim’s office.
Immediately she entered, the first person she saw was her dad.
Mr. Bae was kneeling in front of the door, and her eyes widened.
“Thanks for coming” Mr. Kim said behind, and she turned to go back, but he quickly held her.
“Don’t go, please. I’m talking to you as your manager now” he said.
“Mr. Kim you really don’t know what this man did. This man here…. Oh no I can’t do this, I don’t wanna stay” she replied, and Mr. Kim held her tighter.
“He has an explanation to make, you should try and listen”
“Not now, I’d come for his explanation when I’m ready” she replied, and Mr. Kim let go of her.
“When will you be ready?” He asked.
“I’ll give you a call” she replied and left the office.
Mr. Bae went from his knees to his butt, and Mr. Kim squatted beside him.
“Calm down, she’d come around” he assured.
****
H. O. T DORM**
Daniel entered the bathroom immediately he finished practice with the band, and his phone was already ringing when he came out.
He rushed to check it out, and he smiled when he say Cutie Pie on the ID.
He swiped green, and her face came to view.
“It’s a video call? I didn’t even notice!” He gasped.
“Your bare chest is so s*xy!” Lyric remarked, and that was when he remembered only a towel is on his waist.
“You like it?” He smiled, placing the camera on his chest.
“Yes. I’d love to touch it soon” she replied, kissing his lips from the screen.
“I love you” she said.
“I love you too cutie”
“Wanna see my upper body too?” She asked, and he blinked.
“I can see it live when next you come” he replied.
“No. Watch me” she replied and took off her top, revealing her white bra, new one.
“I love that” he bit his lip.
“The bra or the b**bs?” She asked.
“The both, and you” he replied, and she blushed heavily.
****
SEOUL JAILHOUSE**
Diva went there straight from the agency, though she’s putting on a mask.
She made a request to see Vodka, and it was granted immediately.
She sat in front of the barricading net, and he was brought out on the other side, looking so thin and haggard in his inmate uniform. He has lost a lot of weight, and he looks even older than he was a month ago. His real age is starting to show on his wrinkled face.
“Funny how I even recognize you with the mask” he said, his voice so shaky. There’s no energy in it.
“Jail doesn’t look good on you” she replied, and he nodded regretfully.
“Maybe I’m facing all this for breaking your heart that day. Not all hearts can be broken for free, I believe I’m suffering for it right now”
“And thanks for breaking my heart, I got to learn more about love, and I got to meet the love of my life” she replied.
“Oh… Vee? You got yourself a real man I must say. He came to beat me up after I broke your heart” he replied, and she removed her mask with wide eyes.
“Yeah. He did, he gave me this mark and I had to start covering it with makeup all the time” he said, pointing at the scar on his left jaw.
“I was planning to implicate him with the video before this happened” he said, and Diva stood immediately.
She started running out…
“I’m sorry, for breaking you” he said, and she rushed out after hearing that.

HWANG FAMILY HOSPITAL**
Myles and Krystal were joking and laughing as they made their ways into the hospital, and they were still on it till they got to Vee’s door.
Myles opened it, and they stepped in at once, only for their eyes to widen.
Vee was already sitting up in bed, holding his tummy lightly.
“Vee!!!” They screamed at once.
**
THIRTY MINUTES LATER**
Diva rushed into the hospital and almost lost her right shoe cos of her race.
She’s the first person Myles called to inform, and she just can’t wait to confirm. Is he playing tricks on her?
She got to the ward and opened the door fast, and her eyes widened when she saw he’s not in bed anymore, he’s not in the ward too.
“Jun” he muttered.
“He went for a stroll alone, he’d he somewhere around if you search” Krystal said behind her, and she turned to run out of the hallway.
She began searching every nook of the hospital, hoping this ain’t a lie as she opened every door she sees.
She has searched almost everywhere before remembering the rooftop, and she ran up the stairs to search too.
She stopped walking immediately she got there and saw his backside.
He’s standing beside his drip stand, and his right arm is still bandaged. He’s staring at the wide city of Seoul from his spot.
She couldn’t stop her tears immediately she saw him, and the sound of her cries made him turn back to see his girl.
He stared at her for so long, and he noticed she got thinner, she obviously lost a lot of weight though she’s still just as pretty as he could remember.
“Je-na” he whispered, and despite the short space between them, she ran fast to him, throwing herself into his chest as she hugged him tightly.
His faint heartbeats became normal already, and immediately she heard it in her ears, she broke the hug and faced him with her teary eyes.
“Je-na” he whispered again and held her face gently with his fine hand, caressing her cheek gently.
“It must have been so hard. I’m sorry for leaving like that” he said as he started tearing up too.
“Don’t you ever leave me again, ever” Diva whispered and stood on her toes.
His eyes went shut slowly, and her lips pressed gently on his own as their heartbeats synced as one again.
