(A/N: A very long chapter)

????Alexis’s pov????

“Hey girls.” I hug-ged my two best friends smiling widely at the both of them. “Long time no see.”

“Arrrrgh, you can say that again. I really miss you two.” Kathy dramatically said, pouting.

“I can’t just wait to get out of this stupid handcuff and be free.” Pearl growled shaking her head slowly.

“Like seriously. I really miss my Fuc-king freedom. I haven’t even had a proper bath or better still change clothes.” Kathy was the one to say that.

“I’ve been wearing this stupid gown for God knows how long.”

“It’s just two days.” Davis chirped into the conversation.

“I know.”

“So how long is that?” He shrugged.

“Like seriously dude, girls can be so dramatic and annoying.” Arthur added agreeing with Davis words.

“Are you two serious right now? Not having a proper bath for two good days is okay with you two?” Pearl questioned raising a brow at them.

“We aren’t smelling, or are we?” They both said in unison smirking.

“Well you two are smelling.” I said earning a laughter from my best friends and Cleo. Oh, speaking of Cleo… “Hi.” I waved at her.

She waved back. “Hi.”

“I didn’t expect to see you around, you know.”

“I stuck with her.” She shot her cuffed wrist up in the air for me to see. “Pearl is your best friend so apparently you will be seeing me regularly now.”

I laughed. “I know. Pearl can be so bossy. She’s such a bully.”

“I can hear you two.” Pearl stared in between the both of us, fake glaring.

I know you guys will be wondering…well I decided to forgive Pearl and forget her harsh words to me that day.

I take it that she was confuse and scared at the same time about the sudden news.

I was likewise confuse as well. And to be honest I wasn’t still sure about what I truly feel for Gwendolyn.

It can be anything you know,,, maybe I’m just grateful to her for saving my as-sthat day. Maybe I’m still feeling indebted to her being the fact that i didn’t take her out for dinner as a form of appreciation. Or maybe I just need to be close buddies with her and that’s all.

I don’t know but whatever I was feeling for her are getting so strong and I’m afraid I won’t be able to fight it anymore.

I know you guys will say; ‘I thought you are ready to accept your se-xuality.’ I do. But it’s hard. Like Fuc-king ha-rd and complicated.

What if it turns out to be that I’m not even g-ay from the very beginning?

What if Rowan has been the problem and the one who lacked in satisfying a lady like me?

I think it’s high time I go with Kathy’s idea and Fuc-k some random dude in a…okay that’s enough Lexi. You can’t stoop too low to check out your se-xuality. Better have sense.

Aside from my best friends I haven’t told anyone about my ‘true se-xuality.’ I haven’t even said anything to Mom or better still Brenden!

Hey don’t give me that look,,, Brenden have been so Fuc-king busy that he has little time for his own little sister.

~You are the one avoiding him, Lexi~ My subconsciousness pointed out making me to almost look like the bad person.

Key word… almost.

What, I’m mad at Brenden for his stupid actions this days.

How can he spend much time with Gwen and not with me…his beautiful baby sister?

How can he let her defend him when he knows fully well that I was the only one who should always defend him and stand by him at times like this but no, he accepted Gwen’s help and totally forgot about me!

~Wait, are you worried about your brother or his partner?~ Damn my subconsciousness for always exposing me at my worst.

“So…” Kathy vegan looking around. “Where is our great tomboy?” She wriggled her brows stating over at Cleo.

“Why are you staring at me?” Cleo asked.

“You are close to her, remember? So you should be the one to know of her whereabout.” Kathy said in a duh tone.

“I’ve been cuffed with this annoying friend of yours who haven’t let me spend times with my own friends… obviously there’s no way I will get information about Gwendolyn whereabout. She’s hardly with her phone this days because of how bad she is at using left hand.”

Wow….this bit-ch knows my Gwendolyn so damn well.

Was that why she asked Brenden to take out her phone yesterday in the bus?

What? Stop giving me that look. I saw every damn thing that transpired between those two.

I won’t deny the fact that i was so damn jealous and almost wanted to toss my brother out of the bus and replaced him immediately by being Gwen’s partner.

I can be that desperate you know. But I honestly don’t know what’s still holding back. Probably because i haven’t yet accepted my true se-xuality or because I’m still very confuse on which side I belong.

“Did you just call me annoying?” Pearl asked turning to glare at Cleo.

“That isn’t a lie, girl.” Cleo said nonchalantly, brushing Pearl off so easily. “But,” She was looking at Arthur and I now. “You two should know about her whereabout. You must have slept under the same roof.”

Arthur eyes suddenly went that at that he started smiling. “Speaking of last night,,,I guess you all haven’t heard..”

“What?” Kathy asked.

“Gwen stood up against…ow!” I had stomped very ha-rd on Arthur’s foot shutting him up completely. “What the hell was that for?”

“Just shut up.” I roll my eyes.

“It seems like Lexi don’t want to tell us about the full gist.” Kathy said giving me those her weird annoying look.

“Don’t give me that look.” I muttered looking away.

“But why don’t you want him to tell us about this ‘Gwen standing up against someone’ huh?” She whined.

“It’s nothing serious. Oh, I need to visit the restroom.” I lied, dragging Arthur along with me.

“We know you are lying!” Pearl yelled at the top of her voice but i turned a deaf ear and went far away from them.

“I can’t believe you almost said that to them.” I scoffed.

“They are our friends, remember?”

“Davis is your friend not Kathy or Pearl or Cleo. If there’s anyone who knows about Brenden and my father then it’s only Davis. You know how Brenden have done everything possible to keep his little secret from the public.” I eyed him in annoyance.

“Oh Fuc-k.” Arthur cursed loudly, realizing his stupidity. “I totally forgot about that. Shit! Thank you for stopping me from spilling that secret. I would be dead if you didn’t stopped me.”

“You owe me then.” I smirked.

“Uh-huh. I know how weird it can be when it comes to repaying your debt. You can even ask me to take my life away just as a fulfilment of my debt to you.”

I shrugged. “Don’t worry I won’t ask you to take your life away but I’m not promising anything better either.” I winked.

“Fuc-k, I’m scared now.” We both started laughing.

“So,” I cleared my throat as I stopped laughing. “Are you ready to tell Pearl about your feelings for her?”

He quickly shook his head. “Never.”

“Never?”

“I’m scared, Lexi.” He whispered.

“About what?”

“What if she doesn’t feel the same way for me? What if she hates me? I have no good reputation when it comes to being in a relationship in this school, Lexi. She might think I only want to Fuc-k her and walk away like I’ve done to other ladies.”

“True. But there will be a different between her and those other girls.” I smiled.

“What?”

“You will be asking her out on a date to be your girlfriend but you’ve never done something like that to those other girls.”

“Oh…. That makes perfect sense.” He exclaimed nodding his head in agreement.

“So are you going to ask her out now?” I raised a questioning brow at him.

He shrugged. “Probably after I get out of this shit.” He gestured at the handcuff.

“Yeah right.” I started laughing again.

“That reminds me, what about Gwendolyn and Brenden? Have you seen them around?” Arthur asked looking around now.

“I’m stuck with you so how can I probably see them without you?” That was a simple but tricky question.

“Damn me! I can’t get use to this whole handcuff shit!” His gaze trailed at something behind me and suddenly a wide smile spread on his face. “Hey guys!” He waved at someone behind me.

I turned around and find myself staring at Brenden and…Gwen.

“Hey.” They both answered making their way towards us.

“Girl,” Arthur began directing his focus on Gwen now. “You rocked last night. Fuc-k, that was the best live scene I’ve ever watched in my whole Fuc-king life! You were so bold, fierce and fearless. No one has ever stood up for Brenden like that neither have anyone speak back at Mr Eric until you came along and changed everything.” He was grinning like an absolute idiot now. “Didn’t you see the look on Mr Eric’s face…” He started laughing. “It was priceless!”

Gwen gave out a small smile. “I guess Mr Eric hates me now.”

“Who cares?” Arthur waved that off. “You don’t know what you did to Brenden… he must be so indebted to you.”

“You think?” She was smirking now. “I guess that was the reason why he had a we-t dr…” Brenden quickly put his palm over her li-ps, shutting her up.

“We will leave first.” Brenden said dragging her away. “I can’t believe you almost said that in front of them.” We heard him say as they gradually faded in the crowd of students.

Arthur furrowed his brows. “I’m pretty sure she was going to say we-t dreams…holy Fuc-k!” He gasped turning to look at me. “Did Brenden have we-t dreams about Gwendolyn?”

“Who are you asking?” I asked rudely, giving him a look of disgust and anger.

“What’s wrong? Why are you giving me that look?” Arthur asked confusedly.

“I hope Pearl doesn’t accept you when you finally ask her out on a date.” I hissed angrily and started walking away,,, still Fuc-king dragging Arthur along with me.

Honestly I can’t wait for this Fuc-king handcuff to get over and be done with.

I’m getting so pissed off!

I might end up either committing suicide or…murder.

*****

We were currently in the school hall waiting patiently for Principal Daniel to step forward and pas-sout the information he have to say.

Everyone were whispering about something while others were just scowling at two certain people _Yes I was actually the one scowling at two certain people; Gwen and Brenden_

They weren’t really doing anything but seeing them cuffed together was heartbreaking.

I won’t mind if I was her enemy and get to be cuffed with her for one damn week!

But has fate would have it,,, it has to be my brother.

Earlier this morning she didn’t even say a single hi to me.

She didn’t acknowledge my presence or anything.

It felt like I wasn’t there… it was so annoying and frustrating, okay?

“Didn’t you hear the news going about?” Kathy asked coming to stand beside me, blocking my view from staring at Gwen and my brother. “Why are you scowling at me?”

“You literally jumped in front of my face. I’m not scowling at you.”

“Then who…” She trailed my gaze and they came upon Gwen who was glaring at Brenden now as he was talking to some random bit-ch beside him. “Fuc-k, I forgot about you and her.”

“There is no me and her, Kathy. What were you even saying?” I sighed.

“Do you have feelings for her?” She asked ignoring my question. I didn’t say anything. “Lexi, are you really sure you are…you know?”

“Pearl will hate me if I truly turn out to be one. I’m still confuse.”

“Have you tried Fuc-king some random dude like I had suggested?” She whispered to me.

I slowly shook my head in disgust. “I can’t stoop too low to do that shit, girl.”

“What are you girls talking about?” Davis and Arthur asked at the same time.

“We will have this conversation when this handcuff shit is over!” Kathy said in a motherly tone. “And you boys should Fuc-king mind your business.”

“Good morning everyone.” Mr Daniel greeted coming to stand in front of us.

“Good morning.” Everyone answered.

He cleared his throat. “It came to my notice that some students invaded the school building,” His gaze went down to Brenden and Gwen. “And unfortunately some keys are missing in my office.”

What?

“The identity of these students is still unknown but I would advice whoever they are to quietly report themselves.” He wasn’t staring at Brenden and Gwen anymore but his gaze were now on other students. “Anyone?” No one stepped forward. “No one?” Still nobody. “No…” Two students stepped forward. “What?”

“We invaded the school building to collect the key of our handcuff. It was frustrating us and we really wanted to get out of it. We are so sorry.” They said pleadingly, facing downwards.

“How many keys did you take?” He questioned.

They shrugged. “Uhm, we weren’t sure which one was the key to our handcuff so we just grabbed a lot.”

Mr Daniel let out a de-ep breath shaking his head in disappointment. “I can’t believe you two will result to this simply because you are cuffed together.” He paused. “I will let this slide because it’s practically my fault you two thought of invading the school building. And that’s why I’ve come to the conclusion that the handcuff of a thing comes to an end tomorrow.”

“YES!” Everyone screamed at the top of their voices, excited about the good news. I was likewise excited as well.

Finally this shit will come to an end sooner than I’d expected! Like damnnnnn!

But why tomorrow and not today?

“But that also means that your a-ssignment will be due for submission by tomorrow as well.”

Wait, a-ssignment?

What Fuc-king a-ssignment?

“Judging by the look on you guys faces, you must have forgotten about the a-ssignment. I will remind you then,” He smiled. “Write an essay on cooperation and unity.” A student raised her hand up indicating she have a question to ask. “Yes?”

“You said we can write on anything but you never gave us a particular topic to discuss about.”

Wow, what a retentive memory this girl have. Bravo to her!!!

“I know.” Mr Daniel stated.

“But you are just giving us a topic…”

“I know. And i need them submitted by tomorrow morning. Besides, these two…” He pointed at the two students who had stepped forward about invading the school building. “worked together to steal the keys from my office which they succeeded… that’s cooperation, isn’t it?” He let out a de-ep breath taking a step back. “Tomorrow y’all. You can all go to clas-sand work on your essays, and oh, we are going on a school trip tomorrow to replace the one we couldn’t go for due to two people’s foolishness,” His gaze came back to stare at Brenden and Gwen. “I hope you don’t repeat that same mistake again.” They both shook their heads quietly. “Good. Now shoo!”

Everyone scurried away from the hall.

“Essay? Like are you freaking kidding me!?” Kathy yelled at the top of her voice.

“You can ask your principal that question.” Pearl retorted, rolling her eyes.

“Aside from being over controlling, annoying, frustrating,,, there’s actually nothing so special or educational about this.” Cleo said to Pearl.

“Aside from being frustrating, making me feel uncomfortable, quiet, crying everyday at night,,, there’s actually nothing so special or educational about this.” Pearl fired back.

“You cry everyday at night?” I asked Cleo.

“Don’t mind her, she’s just…”

“Who cries at night?” Gwen chimed in from behind, startling us in the process. “Sorry, never meant to startle you guys.”

“Well apparently, Cleo is the one who cries at night.” Kathy shrugged.

“What?” Gwen turned to look at Cleo. “Why? Did something happen? Are you sick? Fuc-k, I’m so stupid. I didn’t even notice this.” She stepped forward and placed her palm over Cleo’s forehead. “You are not burning up. So what’s the problem?”

Cleo chuckles lightly, “I’m fine. I was just having menstrual cramps that night.”

“Do you have menstrual cramps every night?” Pearl asked.

“Can you just shut up!?” Cleo snapped, glaring very ha-rd at Pearl.

“What, I’m only being nice here.”

“If we keep arguing about things like this, we will end up writing an essay on disunity.” Kathy stated.

“I second the motion on that.” Both Davis and Arthur said in sync.

“Let’s sit down and work this out together.” Kathy suggested.

“Not a bad idea.” Everyone agreed aside from Gwen who was still staring at Cleo worriedly and Brenden who was staring at me…Wait, why the hell was he looking at me like that?

????Narrator’s pov????

“Oh my God. What are you doing here again?” Mia asked in annoyance.

“Please you have to listen to whatever I have to say to you, Mia.” James pleaded almost going on his knees.

“Going down on your knees won’t change anything, James. If you are here to talk about Gwen then you are highly welcome but if not,,,then I advice to walk away from here.” She said without any emotions laced on her face.

James took in de-ep few breaths. “I’m not here because of Gwen. I’m…”

“Get out.” She suddenly said cutting him off from whatever he was going to say.

“Excuse me?” He wasn’t surprise about her harsh words or anger but he was a bit startled by her choice of words.

She glared har-der at him. “You heard me right. Get the Fuc-k out of my house, James. Stay away from me! Didn’t your mother warn you against coming to see me? Didn’t she ask you to stay away from me? So tell me, why are you here?”

“This isn’t about my mother, Mia.” James said taking a step closer to her but she quickly backed away, trying ha-rd to maintain the distance between the both of them. “My mother’s opinions doesn’t matter…this discussion should be about us and what we truly want.”

She suddenly burst out laughing, throwing her head back as she laughed har-der making James look like a complete idiot.

“What did you just say, mummy’s boy?” She mocked him, still laughing. “This discussion should be about us and what we truly want?” She repeated as she stopped laughing going all serious with James now. “When have you ever made a decision for yourself, James? When have you ever choose your heart desires against your mother’s? Your mother opinion doesn’t matter?” She repeated his words again, shaking her head. “The person I almost got married to twenty years ago was your mother and not you! You’ve never made any Fuc-king decision by yourself. You are either behind your mother or behind her. You do whatever she wants without even thinking about those you will hurt with that stupid reckless decision of hers!” She took slow steps towards James now while it was his turn to back away. “It has never been about us, James…it has always been about your mother and I.”

He vigorously shook his head. “I promise you that isn’t the case now, Mia. Yes, I was foolish. I let my mother do as she pleases without doing anything. I’m a weakling who can’t stand up for what I truly want. I failed you. I failed Gwendolyn. I failed us. But trust me I’ve learnt my mistake and i want to correct them.”

“Correct them?” She started laughing again. “Tell me James, if a glas-splate sli-p out of your fingers by mistake and you started apologizing to it, would that apology repair the broken plate?” She questioned.

James stayed silent for a long time and as for Mia? She just stood still and waited patiently for his answer.

“No.” James mumbled under his breath, knowing fully well what that question was all about.

He broke her…And no matter how much he apologize to her or try to correct things…she can never be repaired.

She was shattered beyond repairs and it was all his fault.

“Exactly my point.” She sighed. “I a-ssured your mouthpiece that I will never come close to her golden precious son. I told her not to worry about anything. You,” She pointed her index finger at him. “You can’t make me break that promise I made to her.”

“Mia…” He reached out to hold her but she held up her palm indirectly asking him not to touch her.

“I would have stri-p you off the right of being a father to my child and humiliate you like I told your mouthpiece I would do but I’m only letting you go because I’m in a very good mood this afternoon. Don’t ruin it for me, James.” She turned to walk away but he stopped her.

“I won’t stop.”

“Excuse me?” She asked turning around to look at him.

“I won’t stop chasing after you until I get you back, Mia.” He paused. “You fought for me twenty years ago and I now it’s my turn to do the same as well.”

Mia smirked. “It’s normal to dream big, James. Don’t ever show your face here again. I beg of you.” With that said she turned around and walked inside and shut the door close.

Mia leaned against the wooden door and started sobbing hard, plopping down on the ha-rd floor.

“You can’t keep doing this to yourself, Mia.” Stella. said, sitting down beside her best friend. “He isn’t worth it. They are not worth it.”

“I don’t know what to do, Stella. The har-der I push him away the dee-per the knife goes into my chest.” She cried resting her head over Stella’s bre-ast .

“You love him, don’t you?” Stella now asked.

Mia suddenly goes stiff at that question. She looks up at her friend with her mouth hanging open.

Does she?

Twenty years and she has not being with another man after him.

Twenty years and she can’t seem to let go of the past, the pain, the heartaches, the memories.

Twenty years and the night when she first cross path with James at that club was still her best memory.

Twenty years and she hasn’t forgotten his name even though she had tried after she possibly could to forget it.

Twenty good years and she still hate him for not fighting for her and Gwendolyn.

Twenty years and she still want to hit him, punch him, kick him, break him into billion pieces for being stupid and weak!

“I…” Her voice trailed off as more tears fell throu-ghbreaking her more. “Yes.”

????Gwen’s pov????

“We are going nowhere with this shit.” Brenden said in annoyance as he huffed.

“Neither one of us had spent a great time with our partner.” Arthur added.

“Well speak for yourself, dude.” Davis mumbled under his breath.

“I’ve spent great times with Gwen.” Brenden stated shrugging off his shoulders.

Indeed we have spent quality times together like; surviving that cave, putting Mr Eric in his place, invading the school building and stealing the key to our handcuff, we even made out…

Ah, I know you guys will be wondering about the key we stole from the principal’s office.

No, we haven’t returned it. We couldn’t return it.

Yes, the key is still with us but there’s no way we are going to tell anyone about it.

No, we didn’t know that those other student invaded the school building as well.

Yes, we are glad that they did because we never would have stepped forward and admit to the crime that we did commit and did not _Hey don’t give me that look. We only took one key which belonged to us but lot of keys went missing in the principal office. we are not guilty for that_

“Aww. Is it love I smell?” Davis teased laughing.

“Was that suppose to be funny?” Kathy angrily interrupted his moment of laughter. She look at Alex and mouthed to her, ‘Don’t listen to him.’

Should I be worried about that? I guess not.

“See, I think we should just do this differently. Davis and i will work it out together and you all will do the same to your partners.” Kathy said, standing up to her feet. “See y’all tomorrow…” She dragged Davis up as well.

“Are you leaving school?” Pearl asked.

“Everyone are practically going home already to get this stupid a-ssignment done. We should do the same as well.” She bade us goodbye and walked away alongside Davis.

“She has a point.” Cleo stated.

“What do you say, Barbie? My house or your house?” He raised a brow at me.

I was going to talk when his phone beeped to signify a new text message.

He dug out his phone from his pan-ts pocket and read throu-ghthe text.

“What?”

“What’s wrong?” I asked him. “Mom wants me to meet her at the hospital.”

“Hospital?” Alex questioned. “What’s wrong? Is she sick?”

“She doesn’t sound like one. I should get going now.” He stood up to his feet.

“I’m coming with you.” Alex said about to stand up as well but Brenden stopped her.

“Don’t worry, Lexi. I’m sure it’s nothing serious and if it is, I promise to give you a call right away.”

“You promised.”

“I promised.” He looked down at me now. “Why are you still seated?” He asked me.

“You said ‘I should get going now’ So what are you waiting for? Get going.”

“But I can’t go without you.”

“Ahhh,” I dramatically exclaimed. “I thought you could actually get there without me or the handcuff. I told you to make use of your pronouns well.” I roll my eyes.

“You are such a drama queen.” He laughed.

I stood up to my feet. “Don’t make me change my mind.”

“You love me too much to want to want to change your mind, barbie.” He winked as we started walking away.

“Yuck. Now you’ve just ruined everything… I’m not going.”

“You have no choice here.” He said, forcefully dragging me along with him.

“This is against my human right, idiot!”

“Fuc-k human right.”

????Narrator’s pov????

Dorcas and Eric were waiting patiently for Brenden’s arrival.

They haven’t said a word to each other after that little,,,okay huge argument between the both of them.

Eric was a-ssured that Brenden wasn’t his biological son! While Dorcas was a-ssured that Brenden was her husband son!

Besides why will she even cheat on her husband? What does she stand to gain?

She was so disappointed at her husband for this lack of trust he has for her. She was likewise disappointed on herself for not noticing all of this in the first place before it got out of hand.

How can Eric treat his son like that simply because he have the stupid mindset that Brenden wasn’t his biological son? Even If Brenden is not his biological son that doesn’t still justify Eric’s wickedness towards Brenden.

Eric was making a phone call when Brenden and Gwendolyn walked in… arguing like they usually do.

As soon as Eric sighted Gwen, he scowled at her while she did him the favor by returning back the scowl.

“Hey son.” Dorcas said calmly coming up to her feet. “You are here. Did the principal…,”

“We were free to go home on time because of an a-ssignment. Why did you ask me to come?” Brenden now asked, staring up at his father who was still on his phone.

“We want to take a paternity test on you, son.” Dorcas replied.

“What?”

What?

“Wait, why?”

“Your father thinks you are not his son so he requested for a paternity test.” She explained.

“What?” Brenden took in few de-ep breaths trying to calm himself. “Am I not really his son?”

“You are. And that’s why I’ve agreed to this. I’m tired of the way he’s treating you. He thinks I cheated on him but trust me I didn’t.”

Brenden turned to look at his father now. “Was that why you treated me so badly? Was that why you make life a living he for me?”

Eric ignored Brenden and kept talking to whoever was on the other line.

“Rude.” Gwen said.

“Excuse me?” Eric questioned, keeping his phone in his pocket now. “Do not involve yourself in this, young lady.”

“Why, because I pointed out to nasty behavior? How can he be speaking to you and you are busy speaking to someone else on the phone? Tsk, what a mannerless man you are.”

“How dare you?” Eric snarled. “I will make you pay for this, trust me.”

“You don’t want to see my madness,,, trust me.”

“Are you guys ready for the test?” The doctor said, cutting into the conversation.

“yes please.” Dorcas answered. “Just let him be and take the test, son. We will make a decision after the test is taken.”

“Okay, let’s go.” The doctor said to Brenden.

Brenden and Gwen took a step towards the doctor who raised a confused brow at them. “Is it you two that want to take the test?”

“No, it’s just him.” Gwen stated.

“Then you should wait for him out here.”

“I can’t…” They waved their cuffed hands to the doctor. “We are stuck.”

“Oh…alright then.”

*****

Thirty minutes later Brenden and Gwen both walked out of the ward and came to sit down beside Dorcas.

They were all impatiently waiting for the test result.

“What if it turns out to be that he’s not your father, what will you do?” Gwen asked Brenden.

He shrugged. “I don’t know.”

“What if he turns out to be your father then?” She asked again.

Brenden face turned into stone immediately. “I will…” The doctor arrived with a folded note in his hand.

“What does the result say?” Dorcas asked immediately the doctor stood in front of them.

“Why, are you scared?” Eric smirked. “I know this useless boy is not my son! I mean…”

“He’s actually your son, sir. 99%.”

“What?” Eric face dropped as he snatched the note from the doctor’s grasp and read the result himself. “No, this can’t be possible.”

Dorcas started smiling. “What do you have to say now, Eric?”

“You must have bribed the doctor…you…” Brenden cut him off as he grabbed his father by the collar bringing him closer to himself. “What are you doing?” Eric stuttered in confusion, surprise and fear.

“Gwen asked me, what will I do if you turn out to be my father? This is my answer…‘I will never forgive him for all the pain he caused me. I will hate him for the rest of my Fuc-king life! and lastly, I will live my life without a father.’”

“Wha…” Brenden shut him up immediately by throwing countless number of ha-rd punches on his father’s face. “Fuc-k!” Eric staggered back and fell on the ground then spatted out blood. His was now bruised up on the face.

“Now that’s what I’m talking about.” Gwen smirked.

“What, are you surprise? Did you think you were the only one who can throw perfect punches? Or wait, were you not expecting it from me?” He smirked dangerously making his way towards his father. The hall were filled with patients, nurses and even some delivery men. Everyone were watching the scene of a son beating up his father in the hospital. Some securities have come to stop them but Gwen wouldn’t let them go anywhere close to Brenden or better still let them stop him from dealing with his excuse of a father. She was rather cheering him on. “I am not that child you locked up in that tiny box. I am not that little boy you a-ssault every single day! I am not that weakling. I am Brenden. A boy who learned to grow throu-ghhis pains, and fear. A boy who refuse to stand still and watch his own father humiliate him simply because he thought he wasn’t his biological son! A boy who have learned to defend himself now.”

He shook his head calmly. “I will never forgive you. Never.”

“I’m sorry.” Eric apologized. “I’m really sorry son. I thought your mother cheated on me…I thought…I have no excuse to give but I promise to change. I promise to make things right. I swear. Please forgive me. Give me a second chance. Dorcas please help…” Dorcas turned her face away.

“Forgive you? You are sorry?” He tsked. “Why does that word sound so familiar? Ah, I think I said those exact same words to you!” He grabbed his father’s collar again. “There’s no forgiveness here. Second chance? I’ve forgotten what that even means.” Brenden glares were as ha-rd as a rock now and then he said with no emotions in his voice or eyes, “I disown you.”
